Hellfire Club #4

Ruined Sinner

Rate this book
It's no secret that I hate Phineas Yates, but what most people don't know is that I have a very good reason why. One hot summer, he broke my heart in the worst way, and I promised myself then and there that I would never fall prey to the sinner of Pembroke Prep again. Even if it meant re-inventing myself into a girl I barely recognized.

There is a fine line between duty and desire.

I'm not just any girl, I'm a princess. When my family begs me to get engaged to save the family name, I'm trapped with no way out. In a panic, I blurt out the ultimate lie and create myself a fake boyfriend. Which means I need someone to foot the bill immediately.

The problem? The only person willing to help me is the one person I never want to see again: the careless, heartless, hot-as-Hellfire playboy himself.

Phineas Yates.

The even bigger problem? His help doesn't come for free. And this sinner won't be satisfied with anything less than my absolute ruin.

Aurora and Phineas's story.
These two characters were a surprise to me, though I started to suspicious as the way the story goes.

description

Phineas, finally, has a chance to do something about Aurora.
And we get to know what happened between the two of them.
Phineas is known to be the Hellfire playboy, the one to not be taken seriously.

description

Aurora can't stand him, but he will be the one willing to help her.
I've loved Phineas, he was so sweet...
And the scenes between the two of them are funny.

description

Aurora is different, she has never been the same since what happened in the holidays.
The hair is still black, and her friends all know something is wrong.
She's Lennox's sister, they're natural blonde.

description

This is a bit different from all the other books in the series.
Deals with a serious problem, girls that were abused.
This is a bit heavier, but Becker doesn't allow the story to centre on that, so doesn't have that trauma much developed.

Gah! In my eyes, this author duo can do no wrong! I actually thought that Aurora and Phin's story would be pretty tame compared to the other three books, but I realised the error of my thoughts when the butterflies hit my belly!

”As much as I hated him, as much as he’d hurt me over the last couple of years, I still wanted Phineas Yates.”

Aurora Lincoln-Ward has crushed on Phineas for years but she’s not interested in being a notch on his bedpost, so she’s kept her distance. However, one moment of weakness turned out to be her biggest mistake, as Phin proves that he’s earned every bit of his salacious reputation. For two years, she sets out to out-playboy the playboy of Pembroke Prep, until she finds herself in a situation that he offers to help her out of. His payment? Her surrender.

”I’d had enough of being without her. She could fight me, she could hate me, but she was going to be mine, no matter what.”

Phin has waited two years for Aurora to give him another chance and when an opportunity presents itself to him, he grasps it with both hands. She thinks this is a fake relationship. He plans on making it real, as he has no intention of ever letting her go again.

”If this had started as obsession, it was ending in possession, and I was beginning to think that Aurora was itching to possess me back.”

Aurora and Phineas were inevitable! Yes, Phin made a dumb mistake but, man oh man, I loved his tactics to finally have his chance with her. I loved how he showed her how he valued her - how much she meant to him. I loved how he showed her his vulnerable side and made her see that he was so much more than his reputation. There was actually such a sweetness to him underneath his flirty, smirky exterior. Aurora’s family issues somewhat coloured her perception of Phin, as well as made her trust in him fragile, yet she risked her heart on him as she uncovered a side to him that enchanted her. The two of them together were HELLA HOT!! I loved their undeniable chemistry. I adored how Phin did the unexpected just as Aurora tried to take the upper hand in their interactions. This was a fabulous, addictive, sexy read, and I honestly can’t wait for Rhys and Sera’s book – that one is bound to be explosive!

FFS. This series is just one of the sexiest, most addictive, swoon-worthiest things I’ve EVER read and we still have one more book to go!! Becker Gray, you two beautiful women, have outdone yourselves once again. I’ll admit Owen and Tanith will probably remain my favorite because of the P&P vibes (Brutal Blueblood), but hot damn, Phineas and Aurora were straight fiiiiiire! 🥵

My only gripe was how stubborn Aurora was. It IS understandable, but I absolutely adored Phin and every time she hurt him she hurt me. He was completely misread, judged, and labeled as things that he was NOT. Holy crap, that twist!!!!! 😳 Aurora killed me but Phin knew they both messed up and did what he could to prove himself. Independently, he’s probably my favorite Hellfire Boy!

The angst, the drama, and the steam. Oh my gosh, the passion!!! So incredibly portrayed with intense undertones and soft details. These books pack a freaking punch in that department and this book didn’t let me down!

Ruined Sinner, to be cliché, ruined ME. My heart ached but I couldn’t look away. Phineas was the shining star in this book and I love him. But considering what Aurora went through, I loved that punk rock princess as well. And now, to wait on Rhys and Sera’s story! 😍

Their story has been building and building and building. Can Phineas redeem himself from the wicked playboy? I've been on pins and needles to know why Aurora and Phineas are filled with so much rage and self-loathing towards one another...It's finally here and I was thrilled with how the entire story turned out!!

Honestly, I never thought in a million years after reading the other Hellfire books that Phineas would be able to redeem himself. He was a total cad, a rake of the worst order, constantly putting himself in horrible situations that not only upset Aurora, but also upset his friends. How could he come back from all that? I truly don't want to give away spoilers, but I will say that knowing how he was cast as manwhore with no conscience, I fell completely in love with Phineas Yates. IKR!!

Don't fret, Aurora is bold and her take charge self, so what makes her give in to the playboy of Pembroke? Her family is demanding she wed to help the family name, but finding a solution is simple; find a fake-boyfriend to appease her grandmother and mother until she can find a permanent solution. Who is lingering outside the room to this conversation-ready and willing to offer up his services? I'll give you one guess...

Ruined Sinner has brilliant twists and I honestly have come to love this series more and more with each book. The plot is wonderfully steamy, but it's also filled with heart.

“You’re not made of glass, and you certainly aren’t broken. But how you feel matters to me.”

idk why but i loved this book so much, i only ever continued this series to get to sera's book but i'm pleasantly surprised at how nice the hero was and how strong the heroine is.

i think i just got attached to the characters because of the moments where they all talk and are in the same group—i get so excited.

anyway, i loved how he kept calling her princess. idk why its so fucking cute especially when she's bad.

i didn't like how towards the end the rory refused to believe phin. like man just said he was a virgin and that you were his first and this bitch really went and believed the girl that showed up and said she was pregnant. bitch?? i felt bad for phin at that point and i needed rory to grovel af but it was very smol grovel. can't win all the time.

I think I'm getting too old for high school romances. Cause as much as I try, I just cannot get into the romance. I had no connection with these characters and I didn't really enjoy their story either.
But it's probably just me cause I forgot how I used to be at 18.
Book 4 in the Hellfire Club series is about Phin and Aurora. This is probably the most angsty story in this series so far and the first actually dealing with a heavy topic: rape/abuse and the fallout.
In previous books, they are engaged in a "who sleeps with the most people" war which is just dumb. It results in Aurora being victim of near rape in the previous book and we see her deal with the fallout.
But as with the other books in this series, the characters are not well developed. There are a lot of missed opportunities in this story in favor of a "poor rich kids" storyline. The conflict was honestly stupid. It was thrown in there just to have a conflict.
All in all, a good candidate for a mildly fluffy, extra-steamy beach read.

3 STARS
The way I saw it, Aurora Lincoln-Ward owed me. She owed me for the two years we’d spent apart. And I wasn’t going to let her get away with making amends with her body, oh no. She was going to pay with her heart.

Well, here I am, in my typical way of doing things backasswards, reading book 4 first. What?

In my defense, I have the first three books and have every intention of reading them. It's just that when I saw the blurb to this one, my impatience got the best of me. And...well...I have zero impulse control, okay? God! Get off mah tits!

But I digress. New Adult is my jam. I live for a good NA romance with a good splash of enemies to lovers and hate lust. So it's no surprise that I read this in one sitting. I enjoyed the writing style and I liked the concept of the book. Girl has crush on boy who seems to crush on her back, boy screws up so the girl spends two years hating him and making him pay. Then girl is in a bind with her family pushing an arranged marriage on her and the boy blackmails her into a fake relationship by giving her the appearance of a boyfriend she needs for her family, while asking for her time and maybe her body in return. And don't get it twisted, the girl is quite eager to give him her body, so there's that.

So why 3 stars? A few reasons. The conflict was just too childish for me. Now look, I realize that I'm reading about teenagers her. I get it. But that doesn't take away from the main conflict being too childish for me. Aurora spends two years making Phin pay for his mistake. And while I get the emotion, her reaction was SO extreme to the point of changing herself. I could have dealt with all that, but then the main conflict at the end was just too much. It was not only childish but just came out of nowhere. It was my least favorite conflict to read about and this is entirely a personal preference thing, so don't take my feelings as gospel. But I suppose for me, I wanted more character development. Aurora just felt a bit two dimension for me. It was difficult to connect with her and her reasons because of it.

Obviously I still enjoyed it, my quibbles aside. And it certainly hooked me on the series and has me wanting to read the rest. So if you're looking for a steamy NA with some hate lust, this may do the trick quite nicely.

I've been waiting for Phin and Aurora's story and I'm so glad it's finally here! I have loved reading the little titbits the author has left us in the other books about their lust/hate relationship.
This enemies to lovers book was filled with angst, drama, words that cut deep and steam that will have you fanning your face or squirming in your seat.

Phin the playboy of the school. The one who always has a sly smirk on his face and charming words to whisper oh so softly in your ear. Pretty much the life of the party. Although he appears to be living the life, there is one thing he's missing. One thing he has to have as his own and nothing will tell him different.

Aurora the sweet and sour princess. She's not a typical one. She's edgy and not afraid to push back. After one earthshattering encounter with the schools playboy, she finds herself doubting everything she thought she knew about him. The feelings that she had now have turned into rock hard hate. She wants nothing to do with him. Little does she know, she'll be needing him more than she could ever imagine.

Hatred most often skirts the line of love and in this book we see it played out so well.
I don't think I'll think of lecture halls the same now... holy hotness!!!!
Can't wait to read the next book in this series!!

Omg. I have been waiting for this book for ages! I don't think there is anyone who loves second chance romance more than me. Ever since I got a whiff of this crazy chemistry between these two characters from book 1 of this series, I knew I was going to love them!

Becker Gray never manages to disappoint me and this series of hers is getting more and more amazing! It's just so good. My most anticipated bad boy is obviously Rhys and holy shit, I think that man's book will completely destroy me. It will be that good because from what I have read about serena and him, it's so hot!

I would definitely recommend this whole series to all the high school romance loving people out there! The series is crazy and it's so good. All the genres that I love are in this series like second chance, betrayal and so much stream! Highly recommended!

I have been looking forward to Phineas and Aurora's story and was happy to finally had this in my hands. But I was too a bit confused, because having only 160 pages it felt like a novella. And for me, it was a novella.

While I've enjoyed the other three books in the series, I reluctantly, have to admit that this one fell quite flat.

Especially the princess was got me the most annoyed and often frustrated with, her behaviour was very entitled and erratic. It was horrendous was she endured, but the way she handled it was just plain immature and maybe even stupid.

Read Phineas and Aurora's extended epilogue, The Gift.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Rhys and Sera’s story. I have been looking forward to this one and have high hopes for it. 🤞🤞

Ruined Sinner is the fourth book in the Hellfire Club series and one I've been looking forward to because I needed Phineas and Aurora's story!! This book was definitely not what I was expecting but I loved every minute of it!

These two have been enemies since the night Phineas broke Aurora's heart two years ago and nothing will change that.....until Phineas offers Aurora a deal she can't refuse. Phineas had hidden behind his playboy image for far too long and now he's determined to win over the girl. Aurora refuses to let another man break her heart especial a fuckboy like Phineas. What happens when the truths are unveiled? I guess you're going to have to read their story to see if they get their HEA!! Prepared for a swoon-worthy story you never saw coming!!!

I am SOOO disappointed. I’ve LOVED this series especially Callous Prince but that’s besides the point. This series got me into the midnight dynasty world and I’ve loved it so much! I’ve been impatiently waiting for this book because Phin and Aurora have been fighting throughout each book even though it’s been obvious they both want each other. I’ve been dying to know their backstory, dying to learn how they will overcome everything to become lovers. I’ve also been curious to learn their backstories and how they each fit into this world I love so much. In Brutal Blueblood, Aurora has something awful happen to her that enrages Phin and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. This is NOT what I had in mind.

First off, the other books in this series are full length, approximately 250+ pages but this is only 160 and I thought it was a mistake. I thought this because this book still cost the same price as the others. But no, this is a novella at best and should have been marketed as one. Secondly, there is a very barebones story here that is so one dimensional it hurts. This is enemies to lovers and high school. Where is the angst? The drama? Even the sex scenes were lacking compared to past books. It’s like this book was written by completely different authors. Thirdly, I hate when conflict happens for no reason and after what Aurora learned about Phin, there was no need for such a stupid fight. It just made this book so much more painful to read. I’m at 80% and I’m not sure I’m even going to finish it and I’m seriously considering returning it for a refund.

I’m nervous now too. I’ve been wanting Rhys and Sera’s book so bad but if it’s anything like this book, I am going to feel so betrayed by these authors. I already do. I’m surprised I seem to be in the minority when it comes to this book because I’d think true fans of this series would have expected more especially since this isn’t on KU. I hate giving 1 star reviews but I also hate being deceived by authors I respect and have recommended to others. This is NOT what they are truly capable of and that’s really disheartening. 💔

Becker Gray’s Hellfire series is just so addictively consumable. Fast-paced, uber steamy and slightly naughty, elite vibes, young love drama, and a bit of swoony- it’s the perfect mesmerizing blend. I’ve been anticipating Aurora and Phin’s story - we’ve just been marinating in their contentious vibes waiting for their love-hate chemistry to spark, and in Ruined Sinner we finally get to see it all come to a head.

Despite being a princess from a disgraced family, Aurora is such an endearing and relatable heroine. And she certainly has survived a lot despite her privilege. Strapped with the responsibility of helping her family safeguard their future with a financially beneficial marriage- a responsibility a bright girl with a boundless future wants little to do with. Enter resident Hellfire casanova Phin with an offer to pose as her rich boyfriend (and potential husband) in exchange for some rather steamy favors. But Phin once hurt her- and these two have had quite an emotionally fraught relationship ever since.

Phin is perhaps the greatest surprise of this story- surprisingly sweet and swoony despite his playboy persona- and of course deviously delicious and naughty too. The Phin we’ve seen is just an outer mask. I loved watching him and Aurora work through their issues, the revelations about all the friction between them, and them transferring what starts out as a fake arrangement into something substantial and real. I just wanted a bit MORE from them- I love how quickly I can fly through these stories, but given the intensity of their history, I expected a bit more drama and complexity to their coupling. I certainly greatly enjoyed the story nonetheless, but after SO much back and forth, I wanted a bit more relishing transition.

So obsessed with this series- soapey, sexy fun at its finest!

I just adore the Hellfire Club. Pembroke Academy is just such a hotbed of swoony, swoony, sexy, spicy drama. There's nothing like a friend group where things aren't always unicorns and rainbows, and loyalties are tested and friends are always there to catch you when you fall.

Which brings me to Aurora and Phin. Sighhhh.
The Princess and the Playboy.
So many of my favorite tropes wrapped up in a snarky, sexy ribbon.
Secret crush.
Enemies to lovers.
Fake dating.

It was like those marshmallow bunny candies - the hard chocolate on the outside that cracks when you bite it, making a mess, but it's so gooey and sweet in the middle it's totally worth it. Not to mention this bunny has a surprise that is guaranteed to make you melt.
It was so sparkly and sweet and perfect. I just loved it. *shiver*

These Hellfire Boys are so much more than what they seem and they just keep getting better and better!

This is the fourth book in this series and I think it could be my favorite. Phin and Aurora’s story is steamy with a touch of sweet that will make you fall in love with these two. Aurora is still struggling to work through what happened to her on NYE, and now has some more royal responsibilities that she wants no part of. When Phin steps up to help she is very scared to trust his motives.

This story has the perfect amount of all the things you need, there is some drama, a little suspense, a whole lot of emotion, and the perfect amount of heat. The Hellfire Club series might be my favorite in the Midnight Dynasty, do not miss out on this one!

FOR-A-FULL-REVIEW-VISIT

MY RATING: 2*
RELEASE DATE: 24 August 2021
CLIFFHANGER: No

ARC was kindly provided for an honest review

This series has been a guilty pleasure of mine. The blurbs have always managed to suck me in as they promise a titillating story full of angst, drama and good old romance.

Throughout the first three books, Aurora and Phin’s story has promised to be one of drama and a lot of what the fuckery.

I really wanted to love love this book. But honestly, I’m just left conflicted with how to review it. My main issue with the story is that both characters were a bit meh. They were very childish in the way they conducted themselves and related to each other. I didn’t feel like Aurora had a story. We knew her background from her brother’s story in Callous Prince. But that was it really. Then the rest of the book centred around her childish dealings with Phin. Her fall out with her mother and grandmother was almost like a conversation starter. A way to put her onto Phin’s path. That’s it. There was no pull and push. No drama between the family to encourage or strong arm her into their proposal. It was an “I have a boyfriend” and then an “oh okay” kind of conversation
description

The same with Phin. He had no story. There was potential there with his parents being the typical rich parent with strong feelings about continuing the family legacy. But none of that played into the story at all. Lennox losing his shit over their relationship, then the next breath he’s changed his mind completely. I feel like there is a big chunk of the story just missing there.

But that’s just my two cents. Other than that, the writing style was great. Made for easy reading and it flowed very nicely. However, I thought the story could have been better developed especially because it was a relatively short book. So, the was room to really stretch your legs. I ultimately just failed to connect with both characters. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Did I love it? No. But I didn’t hate it either.

I had to skip book 3 and go straight to this one, because the angst between Aurora and Phin was almost unbearable.

It was a slight dissappointment, though. A lot of drama happened in the past between them that the present on which it focuses is almost... boring 😒 at least from the start.

Towards the middle and the end it's much better. Phin again as a Hero, despite being the biggest manwhore at the school totally redeems himself. It's really lovely read. Having a break from the series and can't wait for book 5. The ultimate couple - Rhys and Serefina ☺️

I gave this a 3.5-4 rating unfortunately. Book 4 of HFC was good but there was a je ne sais quois missing. It was better than book 3. The storytelling, drama and climax needed more work. Perhaps it's because the HFC series is shorter than most novels. Although the first 2 books were great, #3 and 4 seemed to pack less of a punch.

Perhaps it's that the MCs didn't really dance around their mutual interest at the beginning, so already the plot was lackluster. Although the eventual wrench in the relationship helped increase the tension, it was not quite enough. I guess there just wasn't enough angst, drama, climax. Even the banter between the MCs was sometimes cringeworthy.

Everything was a little too smooth, so the plot kind of fell flat. E.g. when Lea shows up randomly and creates a big problem in a minor way. Then, Phineas' father calling out of the blue at just the right time to deliver the news that is the solution to the big problem at hand. Also Lennox not only calmly accepting Phineas but also defending him randomly. And the twist about Phineas was also kind of random and felt forced.

The MCs relationship was hot but somehow dulled by the mediocre drama. The first time and the scenes after the breakup about 3/4 way were hot. Otherwise, the chemistry kind of fell flat.

This story had a lot of potential but the execution needs work. Could have been a 4 or a 5 with a little more finesse.

I’m actually upset. I was really looking forward to Phin and Aurora’s story and it kind of disappointed me. You were never told why Phin and Aurora didn’t like each other in the first three books so I was very interested to see what the big reason was. It was given and I understood it but I didn’t really understand why their hatred wasn’t really explored. The year they didn’t like each other was just skipped past and went straight into the main plot of the story. I fell for Phin but I never really fell for the relationship between Phin and Rory. I felt like the love proclamations came waaay too fast and I felt nothing when they were sweet to each other. I mean yes I enjoyed the steamy scenes but never felt butterflies. Also cannot stand tropes where communication could solve so much but it’s always the issue. It was still a good book but not my favorite in the series. I’m really hoping Sera and Rhys book is better!

I really liked this one. Phin and Aurora delivered just the right amount of story to keep me interested, just enough angst to make me want to read faster, and just the right amount of sexy times to satisfy me.

First off, who knew Phin would be such a sweetheart?! Their dynamic of fire and ice read well on the page, and their push and pull was delicious.

Secondly, the angst you would expect from a high school romance is ever present in this book. Characters overreact left and right, friendships between the girls over the right amount of insight into what might come next, and the fact that they're young and rich offers just the right amount of flexibility for these characters to get away with acting rowdy and not getting in trouble.

Last but not least, I loooooved their intimate scenes. They were not at all what I expected, but I appreciated the twist the author put on them!

i was looking for a high school romance and i got a ROYAL high school romance.

this is the first book i read of this series and i think now i have to binge the previous books.
Phin and Aurora have liked each other for a while, but they are the 'right person wrong time'.
if you want a fake relationship with a virgin hero, get this book now!

btw, this is the first time i didn't want the heroine to be with the guy at the end, why? because she hurt him, and he didn't deserve that.

I need to stop trying to read books that are "standalones" out of order. I know for the most part you can do it, but let me tell you, you cannot with the Hellfire Club. I felt like I was literally on the outside looking in because I'm positive that you get more background on Phin and Aurora in the preceding books that would have been extra beneficial in caring about them in this book. I didn't dislike them, they were typical dumb 18-19 year olds, but I just felt like something was missing. So, if you're thinking of starting these books, start with book 1. It'll be way less catching up and way more background history.

I loved the start of Ruined Sinner; those cute crush-like feelings and the inevitable betrayal that kicks everything off. It was written well and I was definitely invested, and I enjoyed Aurora and Phin, for the most part. They were being thick-headed teens, sure, but what else do you expect? They were still enjoyable and still quirky and angsty and full of drama and it was fun, especially when their fake relationship started. Phin is a devious dude and it was enjoyable watching him outmatch Aurora at every turn.

Later on, however, I started to really struggle. I did not love that some of the conflict was thrown in simply for the sake of conflict. Or the consistent miscommunication and assumption making. Once in an angsty NA novel? Sure. Maybe twice? But it was just repetitive and literally the only reason to make the plot advance and I just ... I was over it. These two were quick to assume and quick to blame and quick to ignore, and, while yes, I had to keep reminding myself "THESE ARE STUPID TEENAGERS" it just felt like they were still acting younger than they actually were and it detracted from some of the enjoyment. Throwing in something simply to give them a conflict when it didn't even matter or make sense? No thank you. And then I think we just never really finished one of the main overarching issues that I was curious about? Unless that's going to pop up again in the next one? The more I think about that the angrier I become because I would have liked some resolution for Aurora.

I tried with this one, I really did. I just, I wish different choices had been made. And I definitely should have started with book 1 (that was my fault, not the author's so that didn't impact my rating). Aside from those issues it was well written and full of angst so if dark societies and miscommunication tropes are your thing? Dive on in you'll love it.

I do think I'm going to go back and read the first few. I loved the side characters and I'm curious about Aurora and Phin's additional backstory. I'll definitely read more from this author in the future, Ruined Sinner just hit too many of my least favorite things.

Aurora and Phin are finally going to explode spectacularly after their long history of hate-love and Becker Gray captured every naughty, swoony and emotional details in Ruined Sinner.
.
Aurora Lincon-Ward may be a princess but her life isn't rosy. Her father's crimes has left her family in disgrace and she has been paying for years. But it seems she has more to pay for. Her grandmother and mother wants her to get married to one of the rich family for settlement. And she doesn't want it. Not when she is only eighteen and finishing her school at Pembroke Academy. Phineas Yates, resident playboy at Hellfire Club offers her a deal. He would play her fake boyfriend if she pays up with her body and soul. Can she really do it with the rich, arrogant and c*cky boy she hated all these years for breaking her heart?
.
The books in Hellfire Club series can be read as standalone, but for this particular book I felt you need to read previous books to enjoy everything completely. Aurora and Phin's back and forth hate-love-hate games go back years and has intensified through every book. Ruined Sinner is the culmination of everything. Aurora has suffered through a lot. Family drama. Personal nightmares. She is still feisty and sassy except when it comes to Phin. Now I have always thought of Phin as the charming, smoking hot, flirting playboy but this story shows that all those are just smokes and mirrors. He is actually a very sweet, devoted and protective guy! And that was unexpected. This story is the part when both of them come out in the open with all their feels, pain, desire and dreams. I expected a lot more drama and angst from the story and so I am a bit disappointed how plain this story was. There were scope of going heartbreakingly intense with Aurora's trauma and Phin's inner conflicts.

I finished this book yesterday and actually really enjoyed it so here’s my review 🥰
📈A quick, bingable NA romance, which I’ve discovered is my niche when it comes to romance. I just really loved how quick this one was. I loved how even though this was a relatively short book, the plot flowed really well and had a decent amount of depth
😌Loved Phin and Aurora’s relationship. I loved that Phin cared about Rory for her and not just their intimate moments. It felt real to me and I loved that! This book does have a great deal of spice to it, but y’all already know I don’t mind lol
📚I love a good prep school book so it’s no surprise that I found the setting of this one to be pretty amazing!! Will gladly read the other books in the series!
📉There were some aspects of the plot I found to be rather stupid, very much teenage melodrama, but I was kinda anticipating that so it didn’t really bother me as much. I also felt this book easily could have been fleshed out more with more depth, but for such a short book I truly can’t complain with the depth it had.

Overall, a really spicy, bingable NA romance. I flew through this one and if I didn’t work I easily could have read this in one sitting. It had me flipping the pages to find out what was going to happen, which I often don’t find myself doing with these types of books. Will gladly read the rest of the series from the POV of the other characters. Especially excited for Lennox’s story (Aurora’s twin brother).

This book is live and ready for purchase. It is the 4th book in the Hellfire Boys series! I will be purchasing the other books in the series because I can already tell I’m going to love them!

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Trigger warnings: Mention of assault, teenage pregnancy, scandal.
Note 2: Please read in order, as other characters do do cameos in each others' books. I wish I had realised that before.

Right, so.

The conflict: Was so childishly bonkers you'd think I wanna throw the book to the next wall of my neighbour's house. But I don't. Because teenagers and believe it or not, they usually do do stupid things, and have extreme reactions to even small problems, not all but most. Even kissing other people, can be a huge deal, so yeah fine, forgave ya.

The romance: Pretty steamed up high, yes with some hate f***ing involved too (lived for that s**t anyway), and sometimes or maybe all the time, it felt like they were living it up. But again teenage hormones are usually bounding high in the sky, so I understand too.

The emotions: Probably not a whole lot, because physical mattered more to them apparently.

Discussion of triggers: Honestly not a whole lot for them, because hormones spoke first. But they do believe the victim so it's fine and try to include solutions too.

Secrets: One is a virgin. And no, it's not the usual order. But wow it seemed like they still knew what they were doing, even though they were inexperienced...geez. Kinda irked me, this part.

Writing: so damn addictive, got me flying high in the sky.

Plot: Could've done better inclusion of it in.

4 stars: because of the cute and sweet ending. otherwise it would've been a solid three.

Until the next read,

Ruined Sinner is the first book that I've read by Becker Gray and the first book that I've read in the Hellfire Club series, and I need to remedy that now.

This is Phineas and Aurora's story. Aurora is a princess, literally, and she may have loved Phineas Yates before he broke her heart. Now, she hates him, but her family has a plan to marry her off to save the family name and guess who comes to her rescue? Phineas will be Aurora's fake boyfriend to help her out, but he has a plan of his own. One that Aurora will never see coming.

This is a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance with lots of heat, some witty banter, and a bit of angst. There is an underlying story here that adds some depth to this otherwise lighter read. It's a quick read that had me turning the pages and eager to see how this would play out. I was expecting a lot more drama, and I was actually relieved that the story didn't get too heavy. I really liked both Aurora and Phineas. She's a strong punk princess and he's much more than the player that everyone thinks him to be, and I couldn't help but root for their fake relationship to become the real thing. After reading Ruined Sinner, I will definitely be adding the rest of this series to my TBR.

I must say, soo far this year I’ve had plenty of 5 star reads and this is no exception.

This is my first ever book read by Becker Gray and the 4th book of the Hellfire Club series. I’m not one to read books out of order, OCD and all, but this one was just perfect read as is. I will want to go back and read the order books in this series, though.

Now, onto the fun part!! I loved reading Ruined Sinner by Becker Gray. I literally devoured this book in one day and it was absolutely delicious. The Hellfire Club boys are oh soo yummy, but Phin.. geez!! Phone as Yates is serious sex appeal and has stolen my heart. Cocky A-hole on the outside and a total swoony sweetheart on the inside. My kind of man. But Aurora was sweet perfection. One of the best heroines I've read in a long time. Strong and fierce but allowed herself to be vulnerable. I just loved her. And her and Phin were seriously sexy together.

There were soo many swoon worthy moments that you just have to pick up this book and see for yourself. I can’t believe I have not read any book of Becker Gray’s until now. I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the Hellfire Club books now.

Ruined Sinner is a must read. I would give it ten stars if I could. One of the best I’ve read this year. I have a feeling. I'm blown away and completely addicted to their writing. Amazing work!!
