I'm Keima Masuda the Dungeon Master, still chasing my dream to live a life without work. I finally get home from my trip to the Demon Realm (where I spent basically the whole time as a slave), but now Aidy the Demon Realm's princess is visiting the empire. I knew I'd be forced to give her a tour, but... "Can you do nothing about how dreadfully boring it is here, town chief?" The peaceful empire is simply too boring for Aidy! I have to go hunt down someone for Aidy the battle junky to slay in battle?! This is Volume 14 of my own kind of dungeon story! Let's fix this before I get slain myself!
The enslavement and liberation of Keima and company took so long to explain, re-explain and change the view point to explain and re-explain that the conclusion started Book 14, as if anything they did in the Demon Lord's territory was positive, urgent or necessary... Rei the vampire is finally illustrated and so is Misha from Haku's retinue (Cat-kin)... Story is super slow going, basically you can read the chapters, or skip to the epilogue and you won't miss a thing, 2/4 of the content are side stories that are neither interesting nor entertaining, nor do they forward the story along...the rest is the illustrations, explanations and view-point changes...there are still no maps of this "other world" or character abilities summaries...The Artificial Dungeon in Pavella is the theme again on this one, so no new improvements to the Cave of Greed, no management or strategy upgrades to the main story arcs or secondary arcs, this Book 14 is totally skip-able...
After Keima's visit to the Demon Lord's Realm, Aidy returns with him with the purpose to learn more about the Empire. As is to be expected, the peaceful ways of the Empire do not sit very well with the pour battle hungry girl. The volume is fairly typical for the series, part slice-of-life, part over-arching story. It is mostly about the interaction between characters and the development of the world, less about crafting. All in all, a fun read.
