Good to the Last Death #6

It's a Matter of Midlife and Death

Rate this book
Midlife is madness—magical, messy and one freaking crisis after another.

With a new job I didn’t apply for and an extended family I didn’t know I had—midlife has become somewhat problematic. Gluing ghosts back together is easy compared to my new celestial occupation.

The Grim Reaper wants to put a ring on it. Tim wants to be a father. Candy Vargo has lost her damn mind and Jennifer thinks we’re all sparkly vampires. I’ve been given an impossible task with catastrophic consequences for failure, but it wouldn’t be my midlife without another crisis.

What’s the saying? When in Crazytown, embrace the insanity or go insane. It’s time to lean into the madness. I’m putting down roots, pulling up my big-girl panties and getting down to business. With one month to succeed, it’s time to grow a bigger pair of lady-balls and play in the big league.

The rules are unclear. However, when it’s a matter of midlife and death, I’m making the rules. And I will win.

Humanity is real

So much entertainment what with the changes and growth of the four siblings. What a journey they all had.. It's heartbreaking at times & hilarious at others.
The history between Candy and the Angels.. I am never, ever going to forget. Way to much information lol.
Loved the banter and poor ole gram and candy too good.
This was a MASSIVE cliff-hanger of all cliff hangers.

Worth the wait!

But now I wait again for the next book! This was so good in so many ways - funny, heartbreaking, heartwarming, suspenseful, and other things I don't have words for right now because it's after midnight and I should be sleeping but I couldn't because the book was so good I didn't want to wait until morning to find out what happened. I think that was a run-on sentence. Sorry about that, but I'm sure you can understand my enthusiasm if you've read the previous books in this series.

OMG!!! What an ending!!

Daisy and the gang are in a race to save the angels and her unborn child.

This book took off like a roller coaster from the very beginning. It was a fast paced story this time. With every page your blood pumps harder and harder as the adrenaline rises. There is murder, tricks and traps at every corner. And Daisy is having a hard time keeping it together.

This page turner will keep you invested throughout. You will laugh and you will cry. But be sure to read in order, otherwise all the crazy wackadoodle activities will not make sense to you readers!

Also FYI the ending is a doozy! Can’t wait to find out how this all plays out.

If I have to read "you feel me?" one more time from Daisy, I'm going to lose my sh*t. I love RP but come on now, it has to stop. I guess the inclusion of the previous Angel of Mercy made the story have more content, hence another book, but I'm ready for this series to be done. It was fun, the first books at least, but the whole story was stretched too long, if you ask me.

Another great book in the series. This book seemed to focus on “redemption” as the theme. The redemption of Daisy’s celestial Siblings as they seek their humanity. Toss in a murder to solve, a new arch nemesis 🙄 and the usual hilarious gang, including Tim, who wants to procreate and Candy who’s trying really hard to clean up her act, and the hilarity ensues. 😁😁

Daisy and Gideon are back and that makes me so giddy. The Angels need to find humanity or they will be taken away from Daisy and her unborn child dies. Daisy and Gideon was the first book I read by Robyn Peterman and they have a special place in my heart but it seems like every book Robyn writes is just the new favorite, til the next one comes out. The thing I love most about all these is that I can sit there and laugh my butt off, turning a bad day into a great day. if you have KU these books are free to read so why haven't you yet? So very Recommended.

I can’t get enough of this series! Daisy has her hands full managing her siblings and I just love the ghosts. All the usual snark and mayhem with a cast of fabulous characters make this a fun read! The end had a dandy cliffhanger that left me begging to read the next book! I received an ARC of this wonderfully entertaining book and I am leaving my honest and voluntary review.

Dnf 53% —- one book is as the others — I really loved this series but it’s getting old to hear how hot the Grim Reaper is, how her gran is showing love to Fate…. You don’t need a reminder of what the characters said/did/look every single page.

3.5 stars: The crux of the story was good but the over abundance of silliness is starting to grate on me. The language/phrases these full grown adults use is childish and they act over the top ridiculous much of the time. I’m curious to see what happens but if I roll my eyes too much more they’re going to stick that way. 🙄 This one ends on a doozy of a cliffhanger and yet I’m still not sure if I will spend more money and time to see what happens. Going to need to think on this. I seem to be in the minority here so if you’re one of those fans who 100% enjoyed all the previous books and none of the things I mentioned bothered you, you’ll love this one. It’s more of the same.

Read it in one sitting! I couldn't put it down!
The series just keeps getting better and better...this one though! I cried, I laughed a lot, I cried again!
Daisy has her hands full with having to teach her brothers and sisters how to find their humanity ( yeah they are Angels by the way) or else Daisy's baby dies. Who the hell puts that kind of conditions on a person???? Zadkiel, that's who!! But there is a twist she has to do it before the baby is born...Daisy thinks okay I can do that I have 8 months....but does she??
This was a rollercoaster ride of emotions! Since Daisy is still the Death Counselor she tries to help 3 dead children..that is where I cried so much...it was bad. I wanted to jump right into the book and hug them so much....we learn more of their story, it actually puts Daisy and the gang in danger. Do they make it out or are there casualties?
Will Daisy's siblings find humanity before Alana Catherine is born?
What happened to Zadkiel? Like a said it is is rollercoaster ride! So much happens and then ending nearly killed me. I thought Robyn wouldn't do that to us but she did!
I loved everything about this book. The writing is flawless and there are some life lessons to learn while Daisy is helping her siblings find humanity. The characters are amazing you just have to love each of them but Candy Vargo by far was the favourite in this story! She says what is on her mind and she doesn't care what she says. Not to mention she swears like a trucker! Candy is just too funny! I loved the book and I highly recommend this series!
I need the 7th book like yesterday but I have to wait like everyone else.

Thank you to Robyn Peterman for allowing me to read an advanced digital copy of "It's a Matter of Midlife or Death" for an honest review. While it is not eloquent it is from my heart!

Fantastic – as usual. I think I’d be more surprised if Robyn put out something that WASN’T good!

Just as Daisy gets a good handle on the Death Counselor gig, now she is the new Angel of Mercy. First task? Determine the punishment for her siblings. While her compassion might cause her problems, she can’t stop being the person she is. She does have compassion for others, and strives to be fair to those who deserve it. Will it be enough to save the life of her daughter?

This series is incredible, and each book just shows us more of Daisy’s character, and what a good person she is. With our Gideon by her side, and the usual cast of misfits, she fights the good fight, and seeks to right wrongs. I can’t wait for the next book!

I recommend that if you haven't read the previous book in the series that you do. The first book is It's a Wonderful Midlife Crisis. On to the newest installment. It's a Matter of Midlife and Death..... We rejoin our loveable and crazy cast of characters. Daisy and the gang have taken on the job of helping her teach her angelic siblings humanity... The results are laughter, tears, laughing so much you are crying or possibly peeing a little bit.... And Robyn left us with a huge cliff hanger!!!!!! Always leave them wanting more and she certainly did that!!!! I'm anxiously waiting for the next book.

Rvcd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. Robyn you are a witty genius!! I love your work!! We met Daisy and the gang in previous books and the last one ended in a cliffhanger with the old Angel of Mercy being rather mishevious. The fates of her siblings are in her hands and he is just waiting for Daisy to fail and take his job back. Daisy decides to turn her 4 God awful siblings into humans until they find their humanity....no problem...right? On top of that, Daisy's barely there belly had expanded to about 8 months preggo and she has 3 ghosts of children to help. Something awful had happened and she is determined to help them out with the help of her crazy family and friends. Daisy has a choice to make...what will she tackle first...her siblings or the ghost children? She is on a time crunch and the clock is ticking.

Daisy and Gideon and the gang return in a heart warming, nail biting, adventure. One of the things I love about Daisy is her huge capacity to love and her willingness to do whatever is needed to protect those she loves. In this book Daisy must mete out punishment to her four sibling angels. Things get complicated when Zadkiel throws a couple of obstacles in the way. Watching the angels start healing as Daisy tries to help a special ghost case is heart warming as well as heartbreaking.
As usual in this series, there is a nice cliffhanger ending but it is worth it! I am waiting with great anticipation for book 8!

Everyone knows to never stand in the way of a mother and child, much less threaten the life of said child. Create a tale such as this, complete with snarky and over the top otherworldly characters and you have a series so compelling, I keep release dates if the next in series in my calendar. Yes, this is totally worth it, provided you are not easy offended or triggered. I truly felt my heart wavering over certain situations as well as strong feelings of personally disliking a character and then smacking myself back to realizing they are fictional. This tale is epic and deserves to be read over and over! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

It's a Matter of Midlife and Death (Good to the Last Death, #6) continues the crazy that is absolutely fantabulous. This divine, original and oh so quirky tale is a great story of Daisy whose live is absolutey weird, zany and full of mayhem and madness. It is a Paranormal Women's Fiction that had me laughing so hard and sobbing at others. Daisy's life is absolutely bonkers she rides by the seat of her pants and hopes for the best with her eyes closed, she loves the grim reaper, her dad is an Archangel and has many other friends with weird titles. I love that Robyn's humour knows no bounds and you never know what she comes up with.
Robyn and the other group of authors that have banded together to bring brilliance of women over 40 a new lease on life. Hail the Fab 13, you should look them up you are going to love their work.

Daisy and Gideon still rocking the romance and Robyn Peterman wrote them perfectly in this sixth book of the Good to the Last Death series.
Dealing with this angel siblings, precious ghosts, apparent super glue bulk buys and the cranky-wanker that was the original Angel of Mercy is the setting for this fantastical story. I don’t do spoilers but there are several in this book that need to be Gibb-slapped with a vengeance! Join me in reading the journey of the very expectant Daisy and crew! Yes, I’m an unpaid arc reviewer and this is absolutely my unpolished opinion and review of this book.

Holy Humanity! Daisy is always rocking the chaos lifestyle and things don’t change in this book! She takes on her four abused siblings and helping them find their humanity all while growing a human, being the Angel of mercy and the death counselor. The previous Angel of mercy is reeling havoc and making things more challenging. This book is full of foul mouthed characters, crazy antics and huge hearts. A perfect storm of paranormal, midlife and profane lovable characters that keep you entertained from beginning to end!

This cast of characters is so much fun! They are so different yet fit together in all the best ways!

Now, poor Daisy has some pretty horrible stuff to deal with in this one. But she shines as she always does and her love for her "family" is the steel in her spine that she needs.

Not gonna lie, there is a bit of a cliffhanger, but not one that I'm upset about. Since it's book 6, and ALL the stuff that happened, this was the best place to stop. Plus, it's Robyn Peterman, like I wouldn't be waiting on pins and needles for the next one anyway!!

This is another great addition to Daisey and Gideon's Journey to their Hopefully HEA. The whole cast of supporting characters bring so much fun to this story. I was very surprised in the beginning and of course I wanted Daisey to win against the old Angel of Mercy. This was a twisty adventure that I enjoyed especially the parts that gave me so much laughter. I love Daisey and Gideon and already wanting the next book. I Loved every page!!!

Just when Daisy thinks she has a grasp on things, OH HECK NO. Rules are rules and side splitting humor ensues. The entire gang took me on full ride laughing all the way to the end. I was not disappointed with the lack of sleep that I got from reading this straight through.

This is part of a series and really needs to be read with the others or you’ll probably be confused starting out. But if you’re game for laughs, take the risk!

got to say straight off the bat im not a fan of cliff hangers but this one was OMG!!!!
I seriously need the net book NOW!!!!!
Poor Daisy...
so much happened in this story and it left me thinking there is so much more to come.
can her angel siblings really find their humanity as humans?
will Daisy and Gideon's baby girl arrive safely?
and honestly how much awesomeness can Robyn Peterman fit into one story...
now my greatest worry- I honestly hope Robyn never runs out of story ideas...

What an Emotional book! To love fiercely is a good tag line. I cried several times and a few curse words flew out on occasions while reading this book. Daisy fiercely loves her friends & her new found siblings. She agrees to help her siblings find their humanity with the consequences of her baby's life if they don't. The love, the peril, & the humanity is heartfelt. But what a cliffhanger!! Need more pages asap 😁

Powerful and Hilarious

The usual characters in this book are so outrageous and hysterically funny. Even though this is fiction there were some scenes that were so sad and in real life true tragedies that happen to children. This story while had a happiness to counter those tragedies in real life that doesn't always happen. I loved this book and the spotlighting of what evil exists in this world so that maybe we can all be aware and help to counter it.

Daisy is coming into her new job as the Angel of Mercy in addition to her visiting dead. As she is navigating this otherworldly job she is having to deal with her siblings punishment of rediscovering their humanity. To top it off she is doing all this pregnant! But she has the support of her friends and Gideon. An amazing read and continuation of this series full of snarky characters and a surprise ending! Another 5 star read by Ms Peterman

Wow! Just Wow! I am in love with this series! Each Book gets better and better! Daisy, Gideon, even the ghost characters are so rich and well developed. Daisy is now the Angel of Mercy, but Zadkiel has tasked her with an almost impossible mission and if she fails, all that she loves will be lost. I had intended to read this book over a couple of days but once I started it I could not put it down!

Daisy and the gang are back. The characters are hilarious. The story continues with ghost children who need help, while the new Angel of Mercy is trying to help her siblings find their humanity. Gideon and Daisy are also expecting a little girl, sooner than they realized. Enjoy the ride, I won't spoil it with too many details.
