To the world at large, Marie Easton is the cliché jealous secretary, lusting after her powerful boss, James North. Behind closed doors, she’s a desperate woman, willing to do whatever it takes to protect her family from a menacing threat. She’d be unwise to let anyone in…especially the new finance director at North Enterprises, who makes her crave things she never thought to want.
Callum Ashworth recognizes a disguise when he sees one. And he’s itching to strip away Marie’s mask with pleasure and pain…to reveal the true beauty concealed beneath. But taking her down a road she may not be ready to travel is dangerous. Especially if it disrupts Callum’s boring accountant façade—which hides a shocking secret of his own.

Loving Control
After finding their happily ever after, James and Amy’s world is turned upside with the arrival of their first child. Even as the couple struggles to find the balance between babies and BDSM, a blast from the past reappears, rocking their world even more.
Nestled in the tranquil rural landscape near London, I'm a British author whose journey from the world of accounting to the realm of writing has been nothing short of transformative. While I occasionally revisit my numbers-oriented past, my days are predominantly filled with the harmonious dance between crafting compelling narratives and tending to my cherished family—my husband, two children, and a lively household of four cats and one dog . In those rare leisure moments, you'll find me lost in the enchanting world of poetry, delighting in the creation (and indulgence) of decadent cakes or fervently capturing moments through the lens of my camera.
Writing emerged as my beacon of hope in navigating the labyrinth of depression and anxiety. My insatiable love for literature and the boundless horizon of travel infuses my tales with the rich tapestry of my adventures. I strive to breathe life into my stories with an air of authenticity that resonates with readers.
Within the pages of my books, you'll encounter heroes exuding charisma and rugged allure, heroines embodying both grace and tenacity, all enveloped in the cloak of dramatic suspense.
Ever since I read Divided Control By Anna Edwards, I have become addicted to her books and also er writing. She brings so much edginess to a book that my blood pump faster with excitement. I adored her books. I adored her characters. I adored her crisp writing that pulls me in every time. Sometimes I cannot help but fall in love with her. Misguided Control is a well thought out and well executed book with a mind blowing plot that will make your knees weak.
Misguided Control is a true reflection of a love and the beauty of ultimate surrender and desire. It was such a moving and yet hard hitting book that brought out so much feeling inside me. I felt so strongly connected to the story and it had me begging for more. I felt such a rush of feelings and I felt them. There were so many FEELS that they threatened to burst in my soul. Suspense. Desire. Sultry. Magnificent.I was so pulled so deep that the story lived inside me. Misguided Control showed the beauty of letting go. It showed the beauty of pain. It showed that sometimes you have to let someone in and help you. Do not take struggles and battles on your own.
We were introduced to Callum and Marie. At first I hated Marie but once I got to know her story, I started to understand her more. I saw her strength and vulnerability. Yes, she is used to facing the world on her shoulders but she was always protecting her family. I admired that about her a lot. Calum was hot. Wow, he made me all achy inside. Dominant, Protective and Possessive. He was the perfect alpha that I always love. Both Callum and Marie both had hot chemistry that was off the charts but still beautiful and totally believable.
In Misguided Control, there was a bonus story of Amy and James called Loving Control. It showed me the struggles of Jams and Amy as a couple. I felt their love. I felt their pain. I felt their drift between them. I adore James and Amy. They have such lovable chemistry and they just fit together. I am so delighted that Anna Edwards gave me a glimpse of their life together.
I cannot wait for the next book by Anna Edwards. I have become so deeply enthralled that I am always begging for more.
ARC provided by author Anna Edwards in exchange for an honest review.
Hot damn- Callum and Marie. Wow. Anna you weave an wonderful story! Marie had a tough life after the death of her sister and taking on quardianship of her nephew, Owen. An then her mother. The douche bag drug dealers keeping their thumbs on Marie while she is forced to live in an environment full of threats. The quick connection felt by Callum and Marie and then the development of their relationship was wonderful to read. Marie had read about Doms and knew her boss, James North, was a Dom. She had hoped to win his heart so he could save her from the nightmare she lived. Amy held his heart. In comes Callum and starts to win Marie with a cup of coffee with a chocolate heart sprinkled on top. **sigh**.
Marie and Callum's budding relationship wasn't without bumps. Callum had his own secret from Marie just as Marie did from Callum. Marie's sister's killer makes a brief appearance. Tsk tsk - it wasn't for long. The ending is happy. Marie and Callum wed. You won't be disappointed. I don't want to give away too much of the story line. You rocked it Anna!!!
I am SO glad that Matthew's story is next. Sonia is so good for him. I can't wait for May for their story! The Loving Control novella about Amy and James and the birth of their son was a wonderful "find". :)

This is the first book on Anna's I have read and I lived its! Marie is a personal assistant to James at North Enterprise and is under the impression that she is in love with him even though he's happily married and has a new baby. What you don't realise though is there is a lot more to her character than what is first showed. Looking after her nephew Owen and her mother who's recently been ill and living in the slums of London she is barely making ends meet but when she meets Callum her world changes. He sees her as his little kitten because she is mysterious and deadly when provoked and this is so true to her character.
Callum is starting his role as financial adviser at North Enterprises and is the first ordinary jobs he's had in a long time but he didn't expect to meet the woman of his dreams on his first day at work but just like Marie Callum is hiding a big secret and even when him and Marie finally start getting close he still doesn't admit it to her and finally pushes her away when the truth is revealed and then has to fight to get her back and prove himself to her.
I really enjoyed this book and even though it's the 3rd book in the series i can be read as a stand alone however I am now going to read James & Amy's story and I can't wait for Matthews story to come out!
Reviewed for Amo and Sarah corner gifted for an honest review
I really do love this series and couldn't wait to get Callum and Marie's story. I wasn't too keen on Marie in the first books but after discovering what she has gone through I must admit I changed my mind. She hasn't had it easy and I'm happy that Callum is the one for her. Looking forward to the next book.
I am a fan of the Control Series by Anna Edwards and Misguided Control is no exception! I didn't even read the blurb so I wasn't expecting Callum and Marie at all! I didn't know Marie had such a backstory. She hasn't been the most likeable person in the previous books...sort of snooty and not on board with Amy and James being together, but now you get to see why. I love how Anna Edwards weaves in these complicated histories for each of her characters. It makes for excellent drama and intense reading! I won't give away any spoilers, but Marie has been through a lot! Callum is just the person she needs and I love the banter between them! I liked how Anna wrote a little novella in this book to give us a glimpse into Amy and James' birth of their child. So sweet! I just love those two and now I cannot wait for Matthew and Sonia's book! I'm also hoping there will be a book for a certain sister and her husband too! Great job Anna!
*I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for honest review.*
An air of suspense, an overhanging and unknown threat, heat, romance and alot of family love.
In spite of her outward behaviour and attitude, once I got to know Marie's character better I found her to be quite a selfless woman. Marie is caring and loving, she was willing to take on a debt and burden that doesn't belong to her just to protect those she loves from harm.
I liked Callum alot, his character comes to begin with, comes across as a bit weak, (still lives at home, his mum taking care of him etc.) but this is a misconception, because underneath all that is a strength and dominance that was quite becoming for his character. An air of mystery surrounds him that we gets hints about as the story pushes forward, I totally didnt see that twist coming at all!
There was a strong theme of family love in this one, and it provided a sort of balm that worked well to counter the tension after certain events in the story. Excellent and well written!
I absolutely love this series. I am so thankful to see another side of Marie and definitely a good reminder not to judge someone without knowing their story. The backstory was so heartbreakingly beautiful.
I love how dominant Callum could be. The quote "I own you now, and that will never change," just about melted me. Anna Edwards definitely has the amazing skills in understanding a dominant/submissive relationship.
The only reason it didn't meet 5 stars for me is that it didn't show as much character growth for both main leads as her previous books did. I love seeing the depth Anna Edwards creates and I just felt that some of that magic was missing.
I loved the bonus novella Loving Control with James and Amy. That had all the magic and depth I could ever want.
Highly recommend both this book and the entire series!
This is another great book by Anna Edwards and book 3 in the series. I have to admit that I really didn't like Marie in the first books but after reading more about her she has grown on me. I now understand her and what she's gone through in her past. I loved the instant connection between Callum and Marie and how it built up slowly and then heats up. I love the way Callum is so protective over Marie and he wants to completely possess her.
Anna Edwards really knows how to tell a story and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
This is the 3rd book in the series and one aimed at James' secretary.
We knew Marie as the gold digger. However, that is so far from the truth. What we don't know about is her past, the reason she needs the money.
Callum has secrets of his own. Secrets he knows he must tell Marie about. What happens when those secrets are left too late and will Marie's past put them all in danger?
This series just gets better and better. Bring on the next one!!
I mostly liked Callum except when he was in Dom mode, then he was just a jerk. He didn't strike me as authentic but then again I don't personally know any Doms. Marie was a character I could have liked a lot but just when she was really strong she became an idiotic weakling. I would give the book 3.5*
Misguided control what can I say without giving away too much wow just wow sexy alpha male sees more to the blond bimbo then others can is he right and can it work ? Awesome book like always by Anna Edwards I am really loving this series! A must read oh and yummy 😋 alpha male ... need I say more ...
I, absolutely, love this book and the rest of the books in the series. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Marie's character, but she turned out to be a great character with a good story. I highly recommend treading The Control Series.
A great story about love and the faces we wear to protect ourselves. This story is beautiful, steamy and hooking. I really like how well the books in this series tie in together and I look forward to reading what comes next.
Words can not describe the writing style of Anna Edwards. I will try to though, when I think of an Anna Edwards book I know I am going to get a truley gut wrenching, magnificent, suspenseful, and captivating read. I read my first book by Anna a few months ago and I haven't second guessed my choice since. Misguided Control is no different. Marie and Callum are simply the next couple I have fallen in love with. I urge anyone who has not read an Anna Edwards book to do so.
Book three picks up where book two left off. Where we explore Marie and Callum’s story This story gives us the backstory of why Marie is the way she is, hiding who she is, her dark past, the secrets, the pain, the loss and of life that she has had to endure, but to the world at large, she is the cliché jealous secretary lusting after her powerful boss. Then comes Callum, he recognises a disguise when he sees one. He responds to Marie in a way like no other woman before her and is itching to strip away Marie’s mask with pleasure and pain, yet something stirs inside Marie, as Callum makes her crave things she never thought to want, but Callum is hiding secrets of his own, ones he is not sure will hold him in the past that will let him have the future that he deserves. Marie and Callum’s budding relationship was not without its bumps, there connection instantaneous. Marie knew her boss was a Dom, having read up on the subject, she had hoped to win his heart so he could save her from the nightmare she lived, but Marie becomes all too aware that Callum is also a Dom and that he has a particular sexual lifestyle. Callum begins to dominate Marie, exerting his authority on the way she should be doing things, helping her in all the ways of owning her, when he pushes, she shoves, and her defiance only spurns him more. When both there lies and secrets are exposed, they have no choice but to share with each other the truth, as much as it hurts them both, they both accept the inevitable. And when Marie’s past comes back to haunt her, threatening her and the safety of her family as well as Callum’s, they must accept what is to move forward if they are both to have the future, they both deserve. The different points of view told a telling story, this author clearly know how to write. Such a roller coaster of emotions, a page turner, the different themes explored were not overwhelming but were exactly right, the story was fast paced you literally will not be able to put it down. The characters are well developed, readers will be ensnared from the get-go, and it will have you coming back for more. And those s€x scenes in and out of the bedroom were erotic, the language and dirty talk was such a turn on, provocative, sensual, naughty, forbidden, emotional, wrong, intense, captivating, deliciously wicked, dirty, hot, steamy, passionate, possessive, fun, powerful, wet, dominating and ferociously wild. And there happily ever after, to put it simply, was perfect, as if I could have written it myself.

This was the first book I have read by this author. Was a good read. An interesting take on who you really are and how you are seen by others. I received an ARC to provide an honest review. This was worth a read and I will be reading more from this author.
This is the third book in this Series, I thought it was well written and I loved the characters and the way Anna made you feel for them. I am absolutely loving this Series . We get to know more about Marie who is James PA and get to meet James new Financial Adviser Callum. Marie and Callum get together and secrets are found out!! . I enjoyed getting to read their story and I went through so many emotions with them during this book!! I can't wait to read book 4
Misguided Control is the third book in The Control Series by Anna Edwards. It can be read as a standalone but to get a full understanding of all characters in this installment I recommend reading the series from the start.
This part gives us the story of Marie Easton and Callum Ashworth. We've met Marie before, she is PA to James North. Callum is the new Finance Director of North Enterprises.
It's no secret that Marie has a thing for James North, even though he is happily married. She just wants someone to swoop in and save her from the life that she's been left with. Marie puts on a front to the world, but that's not who she is. She's loving and caring and will do anything to help those that she cares about. She just needs someone to care about her enough to help her.
Callum, full time accountant part time Dom has finally got his life together, on his own, not using who his father is to help him. Trouble is, he has a secret. He doesn't want his family to influence peoples opinions of him, he wants them to like him for him, not who he's related to.
There is an attraction between Marie and Callum. But will their secrets keep them apart or bring them together?
I love reading Anna Edwards work. I love how fast paced the stories are but that doesn't take away from the way the story is built and the way the characters are put across. The emotions are right there on the page and they do get you, or maybe I'm just a big softie. Read and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
