What Did I Read???!!!???

Wow . . . my mind is blown. This book has more layers than an onion. At first it presents as a nice, love story and I found myself wondering - where is the darkness I heard about, why the need for trigger warnings???? Let me tell you . . . READ the trigger warnings as this book goes pitch black! Then as you are trying to grasp on to how the floor drops out from below you, this author takes your emotions and puts them on the wildest of rides. And that ending, just when I thought I had it figured out - nope, I was wrong. I don’t feel that the author left us with a cliffhanger, just an extreme desire to want to know what comes next!

This is my first read from this author but I will be first in line at the release of book 2!!!

Set Me On Fire is the first book of a new series by Raja Savage. This is also the first book I’ve read by her and I was not disappointed. This story is brutal, so please read trigger warnings seriously! I was captivated with this story even as it broke my heart. Raja Savage has created an intriguing story that holds you captive the entire way through. This was a dark, lovers to enemies story. There are normal situations at the beginning, with realistic young adult and sexual interactions and then leads to a dark underground world of violence. The violence and sexual content is graphic. If you are not comfortable with this type of reading, then this book is not for you.

Yes, the brutality did bother me somewhat. I hated Aaron, he doesn’t have one redeeming quality. Genesis had everything planned out for her life. Graduate from school and become a professional photographer. Until Aaron came along and everything changed. I hurt for Genesis for the betrayal she experienced. I reveled in her strength and the love of her found family. I hate how Genesis allowed Aaron to manipulate and control her. I hate how she gave him all of her power and I hate how she felt so defeated at the end. She better be able to get her revenge. I can’t wait to read the next book to continue her journey to find out. Genesis was so relatable in her goals and ambitions and even when she fell in love unintentionally. I loved the way the author showed their relationship to where the reader can clearly see the decline that happened and how the pair became enemies.

This was my first lovers to enemies story and I loved it!! This book is not for the faint of heart and there is no HEA. The ending made me cry. I can’t wait to read more from this series!!

This...was...ABSOLUTELY...INTENSE! I mean, LITERAL emotionally intense. As each chapter passes., it goes to 0 to 100 on the darkness level. My god!!! Genesis, was an ultimate bad@$$ for enduring everything she went through, I mean, jeezus, she’s been through some sh**. Aaron turned into a raging d!çk! I'm not seeing any redeeming qualities from him. ANNNYWAYS, I'm seriously hooked and emotionally invested and SOOOO ready for the next one

Put a pin in me I’m done. Like seriously what have I just read and why haven’t I heard more about this book and this author. The storyline was crazy. Some may say slow and cute to start off with and then….well then it was like I was reading a different book and my jaw was hanging. I’m now shouting for book two though I think if the author had have stopped a few pages before I may be looking at a broken kindle. This probably all sounds gibberish so I may come back and change it and then again I may not. All I know is I’m so so happy I read this book and can’t wait to read more (soon I hope).

True Colors

Raja Savage’s first book in her ‘The Burn For You’ series is certainly setting the pages on fire. Trials and emotions that the main character, Genesis, goes through is enough to make some commit to the psych ward. Genesis’ life starts off as planned until Aaron shows up and changes her plans. Before long Genesis begins to see the ugly side of Aaron. The storyline has dark adventure, mystery, suspense and sexual situations that may or may not end on a cliffhanger. This book was so riveting that I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

I don't even know if I can find the words for what I just finished reading. I wanted to like Aaron but hated him from the beginning. My range of emotions from reading this book are so off the charts that my heart physically hurts from all that Genesis has been through. I wanted to put the book down but I honestly just couldn't do it. The last few chapters I cried so hard that had to read through blurry eyes. Although my heart is aching after reading this book, I can't wait for the next book in the series.

This book was totally different than anything I imagined. This is Book 1 of a series and boy, did this series start with a bang. This is going to be short review because I don't want to even hint at all the craziness that is going on in this book. Genesis Cromwel has had the worse luck with men. She falls too easily. After a year of celibacy, she may be ready to get back on the horse. But not with Aaron. Aaron is Elise's cousin and 10 years older than them. Elise is Genesis' bestfriend. Genesis can't seem to stay away from Aaron. He has made it his mission to be with her.

This book started off as just an age gap romance and then it took a turn and went dark. The more readers read the darker it will become. If you are looking for a sweet romance, this ain't it. This book will take readers on a ride. I certainly wasn't expecting any of it but I enjoyed it. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. I have to see where the characters go from here. I know I usually go more in depth on my reviews. The revelations in this book need to be experienced organically. You won't regret taking this ride but make sure you hold on to something.

This book starts out as a cute love story. I was a bit confused cause I was told it was dark and has some trigger warnings, but I was addicted.

Then out or freaking nowhere, BAM! There’s the darkness! 😵 just when I thought it couldn’t get any better I fell more in love with this book!

Together, Genesis, and her friend Elise navigate the journey of high school s as me college. She’s always been a fireball, but when she meets a guy, everything changes. But are the changes for the better, or worse? And what is he hiding?

This book had me hooked from the first page and I was absolutely enamored. 😍😍😍

Mind blown! The last 30% of this book had me staying up way too late - I couldn’t put it down! Twist after twist after twist.

This book starts off as the perfect love story between Genesis and Aaron but something doesn’t feel right, I just know it. Between the spicy love scenes and extremely fast engagement, Aaron sweeps Genesis off her feet. Her best friend feels something is not right, but her job is to support Genesis so that’s what she does.

Not long after the marriage, Aaron’s possessiveness takes over inside the bedroom and out! Genesis gives up school, has two unplanned pregnancies and Aaron turns MEAN! What follows is pure darkness, where Genesis is driven to torture both mentally and physically. If you are into dark and twisted romance, this is for you. I couldn’t put it down.

What have I just read ? I'll tell you what I just read, pure perfection omg this book had me hooked from the start it had me fooled oh did it have me fooled I was like awwwh I love Aaron and then boom twister of the century. The passion, the rawness of this book was out standing. Raja savage went big and boy it did not fail. She went where I have never seen other authors go before and it paid off. It was amazin the last few chapters just sent my emotions spiraling. It was just perfect, I cried and cried I'm still crying writing this review. Honestly highly recommend if you don't have any triggers and love darkness. Absolutely gobsmacked. Loved it !!!!!!

Wow this book was amazing. Had me going through so many emotions. This book was so well written that i could picture all the things that happened. This was a really really dark book and very emotional. I didn’t want this to end. I loved every second of this book. Be prepared to not put it down if you like dark books. I really didn’t expect the book to take that turn but oh my god so good. Can’t wait to read more by Raja. Aaron was really good In the beginning and then man did it go south. I loved all of the characters in this book. Greyson and Elise were my favorite. I could tell that Greyson was going to be a big part in this book I just wish he had more of a presence through out the whole thing.

Absolutely Fantastic Read. My word when the author says check your Triggers, she means it!!!!!!! DONT GO INTO THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE CHECKED YOUR TRIGGERs!

This book starts off light with Genesis, falling for Aaron, the sex scenes are very spicy. If I say it takes you on a roller coaster ride of extreme depravity, your worst night mares come true. With everything Genesis goes through in this book, it will send us to the looney bin...... It ends on a cliffhanger but this book kept me on the edge of my seat, wanting Genesis to find out the truth and escape from Aaron's clutches.
Congrats to the author Raja Savage, absolute fantastic yet extremely horrifying read, can't wait for book 2. Well done

I have so many emotions and so many thoughts but this book has me so fucked up emotionally I literally have no words.

You absolutely can't end the book like this. I need to know everything right now. You ripped my heart out while it was still beating. Then you stomped on it a few times for good measure. Wow. Okay. So we’re starting with a DAARRRKKK one my friends. I’ve read dark. But this one had me reading through my fingers. It also had me running through the house and telling all my other dark twisted friends about this book. My jaw dropped, my stomach twisted but I just couldn’t stop, couldn’t put it down. This book will do things to you. This is the first book in an unfinished trilogy (for now) but have no fear, Raja Savage will give you some closure by the end of this book.

This is the story of Genesis. Sweet Genesis who has an eye for photography and a heart for education. She’s going to college with a clear plan. First graduate then dream job. No distractions or interruptions - and dating was definitely a distraction she was avoiding. But then she nearly gets run over and her life is changed forever. She meets Aaron and is completely swept off her feet. He’s everything she never knew she needed. Life doesn’t go to plan. It’s completely derailed.

There are a bunch of time jumps in this book. It’s important for you to understand how life was for Genesis and Aaron vs what it’s become. There is A LOT of spicy smutty spice. I found myself going “her hips were… and he was…??” LOL! Author Raja Savage is a sick bitch who wrote a book that will stick with me. I’m begging her to quickly finish this trilogy because she’s got some EXPLAINING TO DO! If you read this book, and you need a buddy - PM me - Or read it with a buddy. I definitely spoiled the entire book to one of my friends and then refused to give her the title of the book. So if you’re anything like me, and you like dark romances, bring a smutty buddy down this dark hole with you.

This is great. MUST READ. There's angst, there's steam, there's passion, it's emotional, raw, gripping, passionate, AMAZING. I loved this book and was drawn in and hooked from the first chapter. The character building is believable and it helps to immerse you in this deliciously dark lil world. I definitely recommend giving this book a chance. Don't sleep on this, you'll regret it!

I’m not exactly sure wth I just read but I do know I am happy. The pure, emotional rawness had me intrigued and hanging by a string, only to get slapped in the face with a cliffhanger 🤬. The unexpected twists will leave you with a wtf moment, not mentioning Raja goes further with pride and confidence, an intense depth of darkness that I absolutely adored! Definitely recommend for dark romance lovers, you will not be disappointed 😆

Lovers to enemies is my new favourite trope. Such an emotional turmoil of a read when you know something is coming but you don’t when or how or why. Pay attention to the TW as it’s no exaggeration! The spicy scenes are so delicious and will have you clenching. This ends in a hfn but it does give you a sort of conclusion to the first part of the story so you don’t end up screaming at your kindle in frustration. Such a unique read, I can honestly say I’ve never read anything like it before and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Have tissues, a comfort teddy and snacks when reading this sexy beast 😈

captivating. raw. emotional. devastating.

The journey you take reading this story is full of twists and turns. Gripping your seat, trying to stay right side up. My heart never felt safe. The words are packed with raw emotions. I loved seeing multiple POVs though the main character is the focus. It gives a better perspective of the whole story. I couldn’t put it down. Well worth a read.

***trigger warning though*** would not be suitable for everyone. I loved the dark moments and how real and weighty they felt.

This book has multiple trigger warnings and these should be considered before reading. While it is a captivating book it is dark and explores the depravity of humanity. Genesis begins the book a normal woman and as things go downhill her world is plunged into darkness. The book held my attention and then left me with an ache in my chest because I need to know what happens! If you like dark romances I highly recommend this book!

There are no words, I was left completely speechless. This book was so great ,even with so much darkness and all the steamy scenes. Genesis is the baddest baddie ever, she is so strong despite the things that have been done to her. Aaron her husband is one sick nasty dude. I hope in the next book he gets his just desert.
