This is quite possibly the best and most comprehensive book on the aesthetics of film available for purchase today. My professor for a class by the same name required us to buy this book, then threatened us if we dared to sell it back. While a few did sell it back for the money they could get from it, many people each semester, including myself, choose to keep it. This is a decision I have not yet regretted, as this book is something I can refer back to for years to come.
a classic, a basic reader in aesthetics - it's more like an anatomy of aesthetic for people without good eyes.
I go back to this college textbook frequently as in some respects it applies to web design.
Extremely technical stuff told in a very simple and accessible way.
A great overview for shooting in the field. REALLY dry though. And very repetitive. But informative.
