Alex is an MM author from the NW of England. She's married with three grown-up sons and two Tamaskan dogs, her night time companions when she's writing into the early hours!

She writes gritty, realistic, mainly contemporary romance but always with a happy ever after.

Her tagline? Finding Forever - One Chapter at a Time.

An avid reader, she started writing one lunch break, writing her first book in no time at all. From there, her passion grew and The Nava Dance Studios series was born. Her writing style has changed, a darker feel creeping into her work and while she doesn't profess to be a dark author, she covers some socially dark subjects.

She'd love to move somewhere sunny with a beach view, continuing to write about her perfectly, imperfect men.

Whirlwind of a somewhat-relationship.

Heavy on The Drama.

Way too little time spent with the main couple.

A lot of interference from the outside. Attempts to setup for sequels are transparent.

Sweet conclusion, but when we never get to see Seb and Joe as a couple at all, it comes off as totally unearned.

And at this point, the ending is predictable.

Not great rep. There are parts where Seb legit feels like Joe's side piece.

Seb is a tolerable and somewhat interesting character.

This is such a wonderful book everything in this book is superb I wouldn’t want one thing changed.
I won’t give away anything as this is so tremendous that the reader needs to go in blind.
I don’t know if I can explain this correctly, I felt that the writing drew me into these wonderful pages like a warm fluffy blanket keeping me connected all the way through.

A story that you can easily visualise happening, every part that is written takes you on an outstanding journey.
Joe — has choices to make .
Seb — The past come to haunt him.
All the characters are solid , all have a huge presence in this story.

I say that I loved this book would be an understatement, read in one day as I didn’t want to stop and leave these guys for a second.
Alex J.Adams should be extremely proud of herself, this is her debut and for me she shines .

Alex J Adams is part of a fresh new wave of British Contemporary M/M writers, and she certainly puts her name right on the map with this strong debut. The writing is flawless, the story strong and perfectly paced. Joe and Seb are wonderful protagonists, telling us their story with humour and warmth. This is the kind of unpredictable colourful storytelling that I enjoy immensely, and these two will stay in my heart for a long time. I can't wait to read more from this wonderful Author, and will be waiting impatiently for the second book in the Nava Dance series. Bravo!

Alex J. Adams is a new author to me, and I must say her debut book does not disappoint. I loved the characters of Seb, Joe, and yes, even Claire.

The book is not only a wonderful love story, but it also has a touch of mystery. The characters are well developed, and each supporting character had pivotal roles throughout the storyline.

I also enjoyed that the storyline was not rushed. I appreciate that Alex J. Adams had the characters take the time to reflect, take others into consideration and do what was best for them when they thought it was the right time. To me it made the story feel more realistic.

I am eager to see what more Alex J. Adams has in store for her readers with this wonderful series and its characters.

"Dance with Me" is the debut novel by novice author Alex J. Adams.

This beautiful gem of a book is about Seb and Joe, and the journey to their very own HEA.

Joe and Clare are engaged to be married, and at her insistence, they take dance lessons in order to impress guests at their wedding reception.
Enter Seb, the sexy and gorgeous dance instructor and co-owner of Nava Dance Studio. Joe and Seb's instant attraction to one another is mutual and lovely to witness.

Over the course of the next couple of months, Clare and Joe start drifting apart, and Joe is now having second thoughts about their upcoming wedding. In the meantime, he and Seb are growing closer, and both can't deny the attraction to one another. NOTE: There is no cheating involved between the 2 main characters of this book. Just wanted to clarify this.

I really love how the author lets us into the minds of both Seb and Joe, so we always know what they're thinking and more importantly, what they're feeling. The author does an amazing job with this. There were 2 scenes that I found to be very emotional for me, which only meant the author did phenomenally with the descriptive of the emotions and feelings both characters had, and that takes talent, which this author has in spades.

This book had suspense, made me laugh, made me cry, and importantly, made me fall in love. You are continuously rooting for Seb and Joe, and want to see them happy and be together.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. It's very sweet; you fall in love with Seb and Joe almost instantly, and it is beautifully written. Amazing and job very well done to the author. Bravo.

Alex J. Adams is a new author, this is her first novel, but you'd never know that from reading it. This is an incredibly well thought out, well plotted and polished book. I loved Joe and Seb and it was a delight watching the relationship that surprised them both develop. The writing takes you inside their heads and you can feel everything. There are bumps along the way in the relationship but you just know these two amazing guys belong together. I also have to admit that I enjoyed the mystery/suspense part of the plot almost as much as the romance. Adams is one heck of a suspense writer. Won't give anything away, but I suspected just about every character in this book at one time or another except Joe and Seb. There is a scene with a suspect in a bar that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I understand volume two of the Nava Dancers series is well under way and a third book will follow. I will be the first in line to grab both of these as soon as they go up for pre-order.

Wow! What a beautifully written debut book by Alex J. Adams.
This is a slow burn romance between Joe & Seb, a tale of love found when least expected, a discovery of true deep & all consuming love.
A wonderful supporting cast of characters including Hazel & Dom - who definitely needs his own story!
This book was an absolute pleasure to read, the writing flowed beautifully drawing the reader in such a way that you felt fully immersed in Joe & Seb’s journey.
I cannot wait to read book 2, Alex’s books will be an auto buy for me.

I'm not sure where to start with this book. I guess I'll start with Joe and Seb since that's what you want to know, right? In a word, the story is simply Epic! Other than that, I won't tell you too much. The love story between Joe and Seb, I just couldn't wait for it to come together. And Alex just kept me hanging on. I have to admit, it might have driven me a bit crazy. I just couldn't put the book down until my eyes were closing, and I didn't have a choice until the sun rose again. You really have to discover it for yourself because reading about it in reviews will only ruin it. You will truly miss out on something special. I will say one reason I absolutely loved this story is because there was never a time it had a lull in it. It always had me wondering what was coming. The emotions, the chemistry, the heat were so exceptional throughout. Plus, the side characters are just as intriguing whether I wanted to love them or strongly dislike them.

I have to say I went into this book with it being a bit unfair to the author. I love dance, and with this, I tend to hold higher expectations for these stories. I don't mean to, but I do. And this is her first book. Alex blew me away. I honestly couldn't believe this was her first book. The writing is on point with everything I could want in a romance and story involving dance. I cannot wait for round two on the dance floor.

The Perfect Dance! Amazing!
You will fall in love with Seb and Joe. Circumstances bring them together and their is an instant attraction. I love the way this book was written. It flowed perfectly from beginning to end. You will feel the emotions these two go through as they deal with their individual lives and their time together. And the chemistry between these two...... sooooo HOT! Once you start reading this book you won't be able to put it down. I read this in one sitting. This is an amazing debut story. Bravo Alex!

Wow!! I had to take a day to let this simmer. Joe, Seb and Claire. Yeah, I didn't really care for Claire. Joe and Seb will run your heart through the wringer. This is of heck of a love story!! It has a touch of mystery in there. The way this story flows, the character development is one of a seasoned writer. I am truly impressed with this author's first book. I can not wait to read the next book!

Joe + Seb
Dance instructor and client | Slowwww burn

First off, let me say something nice before I get unhinged.

The cover is gorgeous!

Okay, moving on.

This has got to be the most PG open door book I've ever read in my fucking life. "What's the magic word?" My magic word is 'kill'. As in, I'm going to kill myself after reading this. "You best move that beautiful arse now and give it to me hard." I just 🤦‍♀️

This book was so frustrating and bad. The writing felt like I was reading bullet points of events most of the time. Nothing flowed well. This was barely even a romance if you ask me. More like a book with a bad stalker and drama plot with a tiny hint of romance. The MCs dont even kiss until 75% which is immediately followed by drama stopping them from seeing each other for a month. Then we get the most mediocre peen grazes after 90%.

⚠️potential spoilers below in detailed tropes, content and warning lists

Tropes/content:
3rd person dual POV
Bi reawakening as Joe called it. He knows he's bi but hasn't found himself attracted to a man in a very long time
Dance teacher + groom of the couple he's teaching a wedding dance to
Jealousy
Lingering touches
Mutual pining
Seb thinks Joe is straight and obviously he's engaged, so he thinks he's completely unattainable
Dog dad
Slow burn (they dont even kiss until 75%, first sexual scene at 91%)

Warnings:
Seb has a stalker and receives threats
Unconsensual groping at a club (potentially by stalker)
Stalker damaged his vehicle
Mentions of overdose and death of someone Seb loved in the past
Seb cuddles and sleeps in the same bed as his friend Dom
Nothing sexual happens between MCs before Joe's wedding with Clare is called off. Hand touches, shoulder touches, forehead and cheek kisses before then.
Clare cheats on Joe
Seb gets kidnapped by stalker. They get in a wreck. Seb is hospitalized. Stalker dies. Seb is dumb and said its sad that his stalker died. As if he didnt put him through hell and almost kill him.

What an amazing start to a new series by Alex J. Adams. Dance with me was a poignant look at a man, Seb, with a tortured past and a man, Joe, in a relationship with a woman he realizes he no longer loves. Joe feels the pressures of the family when he proposes to Clare. They've been together a long time and he feels that he has to propose even though it doesn't feel right. When Clare comes to him with the idea of having a special dance for their first dance at their wedding, he doesn't want to do it, but he caves very quickly when he meets the man that is going to teach them. Seb brings out the side in him he has hidden for many years. He's bisexual and not many people know he is. There's just something about Seb that he wants to explore and he knows it's not fair to Clare to feel these things and he knows he needs to tell her. The thing is, she's been keeping things from him as well; she's been staying out late, sleeping in the spare bedroom, and not coming home on the weekends.

Joe won't do anything to act on his attraction to Seb until he tells Clare it's over, even after he finally tells Seb how he feels. Even though he hasn't told her yet when Seb comes to see him at his office, he can't hold in kissing Seb anymore, and when they act on it is when they get caught. With all of this going on with Joe, Seb also has a stalker and is still trying to get over his past with the love that left him and then died. When things blow up with Joe, Seb decides it's time to getaway. The stalker stops until he returns and things get worse. He gets kidnapped and almost dies. What Seb doesn't know is Clare has apologized for everything she said and did and when Seb wakes up and finds Joe at his bedside, he doesn't understand why he's there until Joe explains. They declare their love for each other as they move on with their lives.

I enjoyed this story so much. It was so well developed and the characters were so relatable. You could feel the emotions Seb and Joe felt throughout the entire book, including their internal struggles. The supporting characters were just as magical and any reader would have a difficult time not falling for them. I'm looking forward to the next book when we get to hear Dom's story. I would highly recommend this series.

This is a great debut book from Alex J Adams; incorporating insta-lust, friends, lovers, haters, stalkers, coffee, dancing, loving, drinking, laughing, learning, lunching, secrets, canals, a dog, and so much more

AJA paced this book really well throughout, it swanned along like a foxtrot around a dance floor keeping me engaged completely. Each character was well thought out and very well placed, nothing was left to chance in the story. There was obviously lots of planning and research before typing had started. From where the dance shop would be, who the dog liked, who answered what calls. It was very well planned.

It is very much an ensemble cast, although obviously there are the main characters, and I can see that this will lead to at least two more books which I'm looking forward to reading. I liked the way that AJA used buildings so well through the book; they became just as important as the actual human characters with the coffee shop, the flat and the dance studio being very central to the storyline.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to you for your Kindle today; I'm looking forward to book 2 xx

Alex J. Adams is a new to me author, but this certainly won't be the last book that I read by them. This story enraptured me from beginning to end and I loved it. Joe and Seb were definitely mad for each other and I loved watching their love story play out. There was a bit of suspense to the story, but it fit in so well. This was definitely a book worth the read.

Suspicious behaviour from a fiancé, stalking, falling in love with somebody amazing but out of bounds.
Joe's feelings for Clare had changed in the months they were engaged and things just didn't seem right. After starting dancing lessons, he realised that his attraction to Seb was far more than for Clare.
This is a new to me author and I just could not stop reading. I was page turning to see if decisions had been made, who would Joe choose, who was the stalker and why? I am looking forward to reading book two in this series.

I really enjoy this book and it's my first by Alex.
I like that the characters were well written and the storyline wasn't unbelievable.
Seb had been through a lot and to find Joe he had to overcome even more.
Joe has his own issues to deal with and honestly the writing for Clare was so on point.
Alex will definitely appear on my favourites list if this is anything to go by

I fell in love with Seb and Joe's story, it was sweet, broken and beautiful. After dealing with a death of his partner and trying to move on with his life Seb discovered he could feel again, when he met Joe and his fiance Clare to work with them on a dance for their wedding, his feelings for Joe were off he map and he had to decide if teaching him would make or break him. Then discovering a stalker that was ruining his life, Seb was completely broken. Joe discovering his feelings for Seb were more than a teacher for the dance, but something he wanted to discover more of. Their story comes together with many bumps and bruises, I was sad when it ended, I wanted more. Great start to a wonderful series yet to come.

Dance With Me by Alex J. Adams is a beautifully written love story between two wonderful characters I fell in love with from the first chapters. The road to their happily ever after is an emotional one as both characters resist the physical and emotional connection they feel for each other. Alex’s writing really brought me into Joe’s and Seb’s hearts as they dealt with the roadblocks they faced. Between Seb’s stalker and Joe’s pending marriage, so much stood in the way of them being together, but true love really does conquer all. I can’t wait to read more from this fantastic author.

I am going to be in the minority here with this book. It has taken me a couple of days to collect my thoughts for this review and figure out how I wanted to say this without giving spoilers.

Alex J. Adams is a new author and this is her debut novel and it is a solid story. There is a lot going on throughout. Seb has a ghost from the past haunting him and Joe has personal drama and choices to make.

I HATE that it took Joe so long to man up and make his choices. It is my personal opinion that if you're developing feelings for someone else, you're already cheating. Full. Stop. That's a personal pet peeve of mine, and unfortunately, the length of time it took for that to resolve colored my opinion of the book overall.

Second, I had a hard time with visual imagery with this story. It felt like I was being told a story, and it didn't trigger my imagination to show it to me. I would have loved more description of dances, I am not a dancer, but it seemed that dancing took a backseat to everything else that was going on.

The writing style was good for the most part. There were parts that I felt didn't lend to the overall story and some of the chapters felt really long, as in they spanned multiple days with only a paragraph indent separating them. When that happened, it was jarring as a reader.

Like I said, I am sure I am in the minority in my review and opinions, but I promised an honest review to the author in return for an ARC. I will give Book 2 a shot to see where the author takes this series.

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. The friends surrounding both main characters were great. This was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. There was jus enough mystery and danger to keep you wondering and the chemistry between Joe and Seb is definitely hot. Joe is taking dance lessons because his fiancé Clare is insisting the first dance at their wedding be perfect. But everything between the two of them is far from perfect and Joe is having serious doubts about this whole wedding. Seb is the owner of the dance studio and the one giving Joe extra lessons. The other man fascinates Seb and other circumstances, he would definitely be interested in a little more but there is someone stalking him and leaving him threatening notes. I was ready to give Clare a kick in the teeth though for her selfishness and her little tantrum/fit towards the end that sets up some of the drama. Overall, a really good book and certainly worth reading.

Sweet debut
This is a new author and what a great way to start.
I loved reading Seb and Joe their journey to get their hea. They both have some twists and turns on their paths. There is a great cast of suporters consisting of family and friends and I love that the story is set in the UK. I am keeping an eye out for future releases, if and when they appear, because I saw some options for more stories. Well done
There might be triggers for some.

Going in to this book I was a little worried I wouldn’t like it, as I tend to struggle with books written in third person. However while it took me a little longer to read than normal I totally fell in love with joe and seb. I did feel it took joe a little too long to come to his senses and follow his heart though. I found the secondary characters easy to love and I hope Dom gets his own book. Overall I think this is a brilliant 1st book well done Alex, you had be laughing crying and gave me butterflies. I’m finding it hard to do the book justice without giving to much away. Definitely worth a read.

That's definetly an amazing debut book.
We have to wait til 69% of the book for the first kiss, but... Darn... What a kiss!!!
Joe and Seb are perfect for each other and even if they have to go through hell to achieve their HEA, it's an amazing trip.
I loved the secondary characters and can't wait to read Dom's story.
There's only one thing that I'd have changed: I'd have preferred a more complete description of the dance scenes.
A special mention goes to Rocco: it's impossibile not to love!
