Meet Nina, a girl who has a lot of dresses, and she absolutely loves dancing and twirling in her dresses. She has a problem deciding which dress to wear every day because they are all her favorites. Find out what happens when Nina decides to wear all 20 of her dresses at the same time!
The story is about goal setting, perseverance and friendship all while being a little silly.
Maria Ragone is the author of several silly and hilarious children's books including "Nina's 20 Dresses" and "If You are a Grandpa Then You Must be Grumpy." She has an adult coloring book, "Things My Italian Nonna Says," childrens coloring books based on her characters, and a craft book called "Everyday Sewing." In between writing projects, she is a master of all things creative like building furniture, making halloween costumes and water color painting. Maria lives in Detroit, MI with her husband, two children, and their cocker spaniel.
This is a brightly coloured and giddy little story, which doesn't take a lot of reading. A little girl called Nina likes dresses - I was not a dressy girl, but I still liked a few pretty dresses. When Nina can't choose which dress she likes best, and wants to wear them all at once, what will happen? The heroines of the story are actually her friends, who care about her feelings and try to help her. So that is a good lesson. I downloaded an ARC and in my copy, the text formatting is strange - I was reading in Kindle on the PC. I am sure it works perfectly as a physical book, and the text may have already been sorted out in the file. I see this is also available as a colouring book, and that is a fantastic idea. This is an unbiased review. I enjoyed the read and recommend it for girls under six.
This is such an fun and cute story. You'll laugh with your kids at Nina's bright idea and how it goes wrong. Perfect for any child that loves to dress up
Nina's 20 Dresses by Maria Ragone Illustrated by Maria Angelica Guerrero
I knew my daughter would relate to this story. She often has lots of dresses lined up on her bed and can't decide which one to wear!
Nina decides that as she can’t choose a dress, she will wear all of them! Unfortunately this was trickier than she thought and it was impossible to dance and twirl with them all on.
Luckily Nina has some great friends who make her a unique special dress out of the scraps of each of her dresses. Now Nina can wear them all at once!
This is a lovely funny story and demonstrates the qualities of a great friend. Nina's friends knew just how to cheer her up! My daughter loved the illustrations of the different dresses. She also loves sewing and creating new items of clothing for her dolls so this has given her some new ideas!
I got this book because I thought the cover was so cute. It's a very sweet story with a good message of friendship and its fun too. The illustrations are cute and colourful and help bring the story to life.
