Many of the editions by this group of authors are actually guides to books rather than the works.

If the author of the SparkNotes is known, they should be the first author. Please leave these SparkNotes Editors as the second author and the author of the original work as the last author. Do not combine with the original work. Do not put the author of the ORIGINAL work first.

5 stars. This is a great resource to add on to learning and understanding Macbeth. Honestly, a wonderful teacher resource. So glad I found this at a library sale for a dollar.

A translation anyone can understand.

Before reading or watching Macbeth there are two tools that one should have. The first is a copy of No Fear Shakespeare: Macbeth; the play plus a translation anyone can understand. The second tool is a video “Shakespeare Uncovered” Season 1 “Macbeth with Ethan Hawke.” In this video, Ethan brings a lot of history into the story.

Now that you know the story in and out you can enjoy the Play. You even watch your favorite actions or speeches. And there are lots of spiffy soliloquies that you can relate to.

Unless you are a Hurley-burley person this translation helps right out of the gate.
SECOND WITCH
When the hurly-burly’s done,
When the Battles lost and won.

SECOND WITCH
We’ll meet when the noise of the battle is over when one side has one and the other side has lost.

However, you will find yourself using “hurly-burly” more often.

I look at my black and white cat and say, “Out damned Spot”.
