From USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa comes a single-dad sports romance where the only thing more heartfelt than the small town is the love story.
I never wanted to go back to Baker's Creek.
But when it rains, it pours. I lost my job, lost the guy, and lost the house. The perfect trifecta of ruin.
Ten years after I said I can make it on my own, I have no choice but to ask for help. But it's my mother who needs me now...
So it's back to where I don't belong.
There's no opportunity in my hometown. The only job that I can get is nannying. For a player from the Vancouver Orcas. "Mean" Mills Aldridge is going to be my new boss... and I'm supposed to pretend he isn't sex on skates.
Between avoiding the town mean girls, helping my parents, and trying not to behave like a puck bunny, my job with that sweet boy is fast becoming just like the rest of my life--one big complication.
My only escape is my late-night chats with Mills.
The confessions we share make me feel like I belong. The stolen kisses make it hard to remember why I ever left.
Until the opportunity I've been waiting for arrives, and it's time for me to say goodbye.
But can I leave that little boy and his father behind?
The Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers series is a romantic comedy saga that's swoonful and sexy, with the right mix of ugly-cry moments and sweet seductions.

As We Are is book five in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series by Claudia Burgoa. This is Mills’s book. He finally gets his turn to find his own happy ever after.
Mills Aldridge is thirty four years old and is a single dad to his adorable little boy, Arden. This little boy has not only stolen all of the Aldridge family’s hearts, but he stole mine too. He started out being the only child in the household. But now there are two other babies and two more on the way. They need a nanny!
Mills used to play professional hockey before he injured his knee and before his father’s will forced he and his siblings to live in Baker’s Creek for eighteen months, together, in one house. His priority is his son and making sure to fulfill the requirements of the will. He and his siblings are getting to know each other and even becoming a family. But little did he know that Baker’s Creek has a new baker at the bakery he regularly visits. And, little did he know that in a very short amount of time, this woman would become very important to both he and little Arden.
Hadley Heywood is twenty nine years old. She fled Baker’s Creek over ten years ago, never intending to come back. And now here she is. Her parents need her and she actually has no where else to go at the moment. She knows of the Aldridge family but had no interest in meeting any of them. But it was little Arden that first stole her heart. It didn’t take long, though, for his daddy to do the same.
“Every time his lips touch my skin, it feels as if his heart speaks softly to mine.”
This was such a sweet story. Hadley and Mills were perfect for each other. But both of them were at points in their lives where they had no idea what direction their futures would take. They just had to figure out that no matter what direction they went, that they could do it together.
“How can a man be capable of producing so many emotions at once?”
I have so enjoyed watching each one of these Aldridge brothers fall in love. There is one more to go, Vance, and his future other half, Darrel. Their book, Yours to Keep, will be the final book in the series and we’ll get all the answers to those lingering questions they all have about their dad and why he did what he did, who he really was. I am so looking forward to that book.
A delightful Hockey Single-dad “Friends/Nanny-to-Lovers” Small-Town Billionaire Romance with Healing, Late night talks, Amusing Aldridges, Cute babies, Low Angst, Q/A, Being Family, Love & HEA. Mills & his son Arden deserve all the love & Hadley's perfect for them❤. I loved seeing them together. I've been waiting for Mills' book & it was fun! Shorter than the previous ones, but still so worth it! I just want more of this family #SorryNotSorry, Can't believe there's only one brother-Vance's book left! DEVOURED this in around 4hrs.
I noticed that each book (Here from the Hero's PoV) gives us some intro info, so this is from Mills: "I live with an arrogant CEO, Henry. A bloodsucking lawyer, who happens to be made out of shit and other stinking garbage, Pierce. A heartthrob musician who, up until he almost died, was an undercover agent for a high intelligence security company, Beacon. A former Ranger, Delta force, or who-the-fuck-knows-what-he-was-because-he-won’t-tell-us. That’ll be my brother Vance who, in addition to bringing us his drama, brought his mercenary friends close enough that they almost killed the entire family. Last but not least, there’s Hayes, who happens to be the doctor and the most grounded of all of us. I think. Listen, I love my brothers, but I’d give anything to have a peaceful, average life. Is that too much to ask?" So much drama happened in the previous books, eh?😏
Mills Aldridge; Athletic, Caring, Nerdy; is a former Hockey player (who'd accidentally injured his knee) & a single dad to his cute 2yr old son Arden! Now living with his brothers in Baker's Creek, due to their dad's will. With time passing, the bros grew closer & I love that! With his brothers settling down & lot of kids, they NEED a nanny, fast. His love for statistics & facts is adorable!
Hadley Heywood; Kind, Funny, Intelligent; Left her hometown 10yrs ago (Never wanted to come back), was a social Media director, but now due to her cheating ex/boss & her Viral revenge; She's back without a job, Parents who need her, A Financial Crisis & Incoming Lawsuit, she's so fucked. I adore her optimism, love of reading & past as babysitter😏.
Mills focus is on Arden & saving town, While Hadley helps her mom with the Bakery & Cares for her dad who was in an accident. But Then their worlds collide, at a park. Arden won her heart; While Mills & Hadley, from banterful strangers, with their nightly talks & walks, became friends. Their loneliness calling eachother, chemistry so Irresistible. As her life muddled with problems, Mills wanted to help her. Maybe they can help eachother? ~Work, Brotherhood, Babies & Family, Sporty trip, The Cheat & Fun revenge, Park meets, Sweet & Asshole, Money Crisis, Family/Friends, Nightly strolls, Cheeky, The connection, Kiss, Brothers Hang out, Lonely & together, Unstoppable, Law suit, Want help...
Mills was the catalyst, Hadley the lifesaver. The Aldridges will solve her problems; if she helps with their kids (She's so good at it!). A deal she can't refuse. But this made Hadley & Mills forbidden. Cue days of being close, resisting, Meddling Family, a lovely Cameo (omg, yay! Sinners😍), Until M+H's desires detonates🔥 (Beacon's so smart!). Hadley's relationship with Miles & Arden grew stronger with each milestone, It all made for Fun & Gorgeous Scenes! Plus, she fits greatly with Mills' family❤. ~Truths & The deal, Job, Forbidden, Lifesaver, Crushes, Closure & Closer, Together Ideas, Sinners of Seattle, Bar Fun, Can't resist, Sexy times, Sneaky😂, Dating & Falling, Tea party & Bets, Family time, Spy & Info, Sweet Chaos, Move in, I love yous...
“Once an Aldridge hands over his heart, it’s forever.”
M+H are at the place in their lives where they've to figure out which direction they want their future to go, together. Let me say, it's not easy. Choices made, Heartache came, Push & Pull...but love bound them & with Realisations (& apologies!), they made their own beautiful HEA! ~Job & Trouble, Pushing, Sad & Away, Realisations, Apologies & Care, Proposal, Marriage & letters... The ending & epilogue were awesome. We'd found some Truths of Aldridge's dad, but so many lingering questions remain! We also saw Vance & his future love Darren here, omg😂. With their book being the last in the series, I hope we get all the answers. I'm so excited!! **ARC Gotten for a Honest Review.** FB Page | Instagram | Bookbub | FB group
5 heart eye emojis and all the stars for the 5th book in The Bakers Creek Billionaire Brothers series!
Mills and Arden a father, son duo who come as a packaged deal are trying to get adjusted to the chaos of Aldridge life. As the family continues to grow they know they need someone to help and Hadley seems to fit that role, but what Mills doesn’t expect is for her to fill the void he has felt for years! Problem is Hadley doesn’t plan to stay in Bakers Creek forever and Mills can’t risk Arden becoming attached.
I loved the dynamic between Mills and Hadley. I also love that their bond grew through conversation and true honest friendship! Hadley fit so well with the crazy family and I love seeing them all grow as a family! As we get to the final brother I can feel things really picking up and can’t wait to see what those letters contain!
Each time I read an Aldridge brother's book, I fall deeper in love with them. As We Are (Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers #5) is no exception and I'm head over heels in love with Mills. What's not to love about a sexy hockey player who's charming, swoon worthy and on top of that, he gives total Charlie Hunnam vibes and I'm 100% all for this. He's also a single dad to the most adorable little boy named Arden who has the famous Aldridge green eyes and has completely stolen my heart.
Hadley never thought she would be moving back to Baker's Creek. But after breaking up with her cheating boyfriend in the most hilarious way possible (her revenge is clever and had me cheering and clapping my hands), she's jobless, homeless and returning to her home town is her only option. When she meets Mills and the rest of the Aldridge family and agrees to become a nanny for the children, it's obvious there's a strong attraction and connection between them. Mills and Hadley are irresistible to their feelings and each other's charms.
This flirty, low angst filled romance has just the right amount of sass, steam, feel good moments with a little mystery and intrigue. There's laughter, tenderness and the witty Aldridge family banter that I've come to know and love is wonderful. The storyline is engaging and will definitely keep you entertained. I'm SO ready for Vance's book and as much as I don't want this series to end, I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to read it! He's the most elusive and secretive Aldridge brother and I have a feeling, his book is going to knock me off my feet.
What was not to love about this addition to the Baker's Creek series? Claudia Burgoa made my reader's heart happy by delivering a fun, flirty, low angst love story to enjoy.
What I loved: - More Aldridge Brothers - Funny, touching moments - A story to enjoy
What to consider: - Part of a series. I waver if this is an entry point. I vote no. Best consumed in order. - The angst is turned WAY down (thank god) compared to Book 4. If you are an angsty, heart-stomping lover, this won't be it. (I swear she wrote it for me so there you go.)
I love the brothers and as each one finds 'their one' they grow and become better men. Henry is still my BBF but Mills is averyclosesecond.
Claudia Burgoa continues with her billionaire romance series. As We Are was a lighthearted read that is sure to make fans of the series smile
Single dad Mills Aldridge is a professional hockey player whose injured knee and family obligations has forced him to move temporarily to Baker’s Creek. But fulfilling his deceased father’s stipulations will require the help of the lovely baker’s daughter.
Hadley Heywood’s life is in the dumps. She’s out of a job, has ex-boyfriend cheated on her and her parents desperately need her help. Going back to Baker’s Creek was the last thing she wanted to do.
Hadley and Mills were great together and their story was sweet. My biggest point of contention was that I started this series at its tail end and with so many family members that have an important part in the story and events that happened in the previous books that impact this one I found myself a bit lost. I’m sure that had I started reading the series from the beginning I would have enjoyed their story so much more.
As We Are is book #5 of the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series by Claudia Burgoa. Told from both points of view with a happy ending. Genres: Contemporary Romance. Tropes: small town | single dad
As We Are (The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers #5) by Claudia Burgoa As We Are is the fifth book in the series and was an entertaining read. From the first chapter to the last I was invested in Mills Aldridge and Hadley Heywood’s story. I love single parent stories and Mill’s little boy Arden is adorable. Being forced to return to home Mills is not a happy man. When he hires Hadley to help with his son he has no idea that that decision will chance heir lives forever. The characters were entertaining and the story well written. There was romance, some humour and the camaraderie and banter between the Aldridge brothers added to my enjoyment. The journey that Mills and Hadley embark on, the emotions and feelings that emerge was heart warming and the love they discovered made this an emotional, romantic love story and one I have no trouble in recommending.
The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers is my favourite series of Claudia’s. I get excited when I can catch up with the gorgeous alpha male Aldridges!
We have been introduced to the sexy former hockey player Mills and his adorable son Arden in the previous books and this is his story of finding love when you least expect it.
When Mills meets Hadley in the park there is an instant connection between them. The connection between Arden and Hadley is also instantaneous. Hadley has just recently returned to Bakers Creek after her relationship and job was ruined by her cheating boyfriend. Her immediate plans are to help out her parents, as her father is recovering from an accident and her mother’s bakery is suffering and then she plans to leave Bakers Creek forever.
When her plans are not working out, she agrees to become a nanny for the Aldridge children especially as she has a very special bond with Arden. Being in such close proximity to each other it is becoming harder and harder not to act upon their attraction and feelings towards one another. They were two halves that together formed a magical whole.
When career opportunities are presented and choices made, hearts will be broken until sense prevails when the Aldridge family get together and rally around each other.
I cannot wait to read Vance’s story he is truly an enigma!
I am falling in love with this family, each brother's story just makes me fall harder.
This is Mills and Hadley's story. This is a fast paced story that made me beg for more when it was over! I enjoyed the humor, the heat and the heart of this story and I am sure you are going to love it too!
I so love how this family, even in its dysfunctionality, embraces each new member with a whole heartedness that makes me just swoon. I love the family dynamics, and how each story it evolves more and more.
Mills and Hadley's chemistry is off the charts sweet and spicy. The hero's in Ms. Burgoa's stories are always dedicated to the women in their lives.
I can't wait to see Vance's story, I can't wait to see the mysteries of their father revealed and when are we going to see the letters!! Gaaaahhh! The letters!
This story was a great addition to the series, I am so happy that Mills and Arden have someone to call their own now.
Mills is a hockey player and after suffering an injury is contemplating his next move but he has some time to figure things out since he along with his brothers have to be in Bakers Creek for eighteen months due to his fathers Will stipulations. Mills has a little boy named Arden who is the sweetest little guy and stole the page every time he was on it.
Hadley worked as the social media director for a hockey team and was dating as well as living with the general manager of the team until things went terribly wrong, okay maybe things do happen for a reason. This reason brought Hadley home to Bakers Creek where she grew up and her parents still lived.
Without giving anything away Mills and Hadley form a friendship but there was chemistry from the first time they met. I loved the connection between the two of them but more than that I LOVED the way Hadley was with Arden. I 💗 Mills and Hadley but Arden stole my heart.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys Contemporary Romances, Single Dad Romances, Friends-to-Lovers Romances, Small Town Romances, Large Family Romances, or Steamy Heartfelt Reads. This story can be read as a standalone but I feel you will get more from the story if it's read in the order of release within the series because there is a story line that flows through the books about their father and of course each of the brothers are in all of the books so you will see how each of them find their HEAs.
As We Are (The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers #5) by Claudia Burgoa
AUDIO REVIEW; As We Are is the fifth book in the series and was an entertaining read. Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter certainly brought Mills and Hadley to life for me. They did justice to the characters and the emotions expressed with voices that are easy to listen to.
This is not the first book that I have read but this author but it is the first of this series. I wasn't completely lost, having not read the first 4 books, but it took me a little bit to figure out the siblings and their significant others. I was able to follow along and I absolutely adored this book and the characters. Mills is a professional hockey player who injured his knee. After the death of his father and finding out that he and his brothers all must live together for 18 months in order to get their inheritance, he has taken a break from playing hockey. His main focus is his son and following along with the stipulations of the will. And while he is at it he is spending time with and getting to know his brothers. But the one thing that he never counted on was Hadley! Hadley grew up in Baker's Creek and after 10 years she is back in town. Her boyfriend cheated on her and she lost her job. So she moved back home to help her parents out, but it seems that they need more help than she could give right now. She meets Mills at a park one night and it turns into somewhat of a friendship. Mills and his family need a Nanny, and Hadley needs financial help. Mills and his brothers make her an offer that she cannot refuse. With a blossoming friendship and feelings that neither one of them can deny, things between Mills and Hadley can get complicated. For one he has his son to consider. And he is technically her boss. Baker's Creek is a small town and people like to talk. Can they keep their feelings for each other a secret or will the entire town figure out what is really going on. Mills' son Arden completely stole my heart and the show. That boy is adorable and from the minute he met Hadley they were both completely smitten. I love a single dad romance and seeing how Hadley is with his son made Mills fall for her even more. There is something about a man watching the woman he wants love his son and take care of him as if he was her own. Mills is sweet and sexy and kind. He feels this need to not only protect Hadley bt to help her and take care of her. She is very independent and while other woman may want to be with Mills for his money, Hadley has no interest in being with him for those reasons. She is not pony attracted to him, but he is so easy to talk to. They get each other like many others don't. Their connection was so strong. I loved watching them fall for each other. It never felt rushed or too slow. they truly were perfect for each other. I really enjoyed this book and loved all of the characters. I cannot wait to go back and reads this series form the beginning. The brothers all have different personalities and their own issues. So I am looking forward t finding out more about them. I am hoping that Vance's book is next because he really seems like the complicated one, which I love. Great read!!
Welcome back to Baker's Creek my friends. I can't believe we are already on book 5 of this series. I love these Aldridge men and the women that steal their hearts. I am ready to watch Mills find his forever. Mills Aldridge is 34, a single dad to the most lovable little boy and was recently brought back to Baker's Creek by his father's will and wishes. He was a professional hockey player until a knee injury pushed him into an early retirement. He isn't sure what the future holds for him but he knows that for now he is stuck in this town with his crazy and over the top brothers. His main goal is to focus on raising his little man Arden. Hadley Heywood had roots in Baker's Creek but right after graduation she high tailed it out of town and didn't look back. She is a successful social media expert for a professional hockey team but when her boss/live n boyfriend causes a scandal with another woman she takes it one step further by making it public. Now at 29 she is out of a job, homeless, single and oh yes she finds herself back in Baker's Creek. Her dad was in an accident and her family needs her. Their lives cross paths one night in the park when Arden sees Hadley and the two have a connection and that little man steals a part of her heart. It is the the dad that is wiggling his way into her heart and may take it all! I loved this couple and their banter, connection and just how cute they were together. Another wonderful story out of Baker's Creek. ~~Michele McMullen ~~
What a heartfelt and sweet addition to the Baker’s Creek Billionaires series. This series has evolved into a wonderful series that I see myself rereading when it’s complete.
Mills and Hadley are wonderful together. Their romance is low angst with a delightful slow burn. Normally I want a quick burn but this was the perfect pace for the two of them. Hadley was so relatable to me on a personal basis. In limbo in her life, back in the hometown where she didn’t have the best memories. Mills and Hadley were in the same limbo of “what’s next” at the same time so finding each other was perfect. This is truly a friends to lovers romance.
Mills’ son, Arden, is absolutely adorable. I know the series with the brothers will be ending with the sixth book. But I’m hoping for a spin-off series with all the kids as adults. I hope that’s in the works. Claudia Y Burgoa’s books always leave you feeling happy and content.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Note: This is the fifth book in the series. These are all standalones, however there will be a bit of interconnection with other characters coming into other stories as well. So do read in order to not miss out.
It was so good coming back to Baker's Creek and meeting all my boys and their loves again. Although something tragic does happen in this one, still it was nice to reminise about good times again.
Mills and Hadley had all the chemistry, charm and emotion that I always look for in my book couples, and they made it worthwhile and amazing for me to accompany them on their journey for finding love and understanding with each other.
I truly enjoyed the way Claudia wrote and brough the characters to life, and made me feel like I was with them all the way.
I truly hope I get to read Claudia's stories more and also pick up other books in the baker's creek series.
I was a bit underwhelmed with Mills and Hadley’s story. I couldn’t become as engaged with the characters as I wanted to or have with the past stories in this series.
But As We Are did give us a few more glimpses into William Aldridge’s past. I now need answers! What drove William to abandon Baker’s Creek when he was a young man? Who was William’s big love when he was a young man? What is his reason to bring all his sons together and force them to live together? I’m looking forward to Vance’s story now more than ever!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Hadley's back in town thanks to a jerk of an ex causing her to lose her job, and her father needing care. So she'll come home, help her parents with their bakery, help nurse her dad back to health, then get the hell out. Then she meets Mills' adorable son, Arden, and becomes friends with Mills. Now they can help each other - she becomes the Aldridge nanny, she makes money to help start her business, and life goes on. Except they didn't count on the feelings that would develop between them. Or the insane chemistry. But, she's leaving sometime in the near future, and he has to stay thanks to his father's will. Can they start something knowing they can't last?
Hadley and Arden and Mills are adorable together. I love the way the two became friends first, stoking the fires of their attraction, I could just see the tension rise with each time they were in the same room together, and yet, their friendship was really the core. Of course, no good romance is without its obstacles, so of course they had a few, but navigated them with mostly graceful behavior, and fell in love, as I fell in love with them. I've been loving the Aldridge brothers and the ones they give their hearts to, and with each story, the mystery behind their father's will becomes even more of a mystery. I cannot wait for the next brother to fall in love, and for the mystery to become one step closer to being solved.
As We Are (Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers #5) by Claudia Burgoa is a contemporary, small-town romance and family saga told in first person dual POV. The story follows the relationship between single parent and famous pro hockey player Mills Aldridge and the family’s new nanny, Hadley Heywood.
This was a cute story. I really liked Mills, Hadley, and little Arden. Under different circumstances, I would have enjoyed the story more and would have given it a higher rating. So why didn’t I? Because I can only review what I receive. In this case, I received an uncorrected ARC riddled with errors. Since the purpose of an ARC is to receive early reviews, it should be edited and as close to the final version as possible. Otherwise, how can the reader review it properly? Including a statement in the front that says “this ARC is uncorrected”, doesn’t give it a free pass. I can’t overlook the errors. To maintain the integrity of my reviews, they must factor into my rating.
This rating and review is for the uncorrected ARC I received. I expect the book will be fully edited by the time it’s published. With this in mind, I generously lowered my rating by only one star, before considering the rating I’d give the story itself. I say “generously” because there were more pages with errors than those without. If this wasn’t an ARC that is likely to receive some editing before publication, but rather a published book in the same condition, my rating would have been lower.
Aside from the distraction of errors, the story itself was cute enough. I thought it was just shy of a 4-star read, falling somewhere between 3.5 and 4-stars. (I rounded up to 4-stars then subtracted a star for the errors to make up my 3-star rating). Overall, I have been enjoying this series. The Aldridge brothers each have distinctive personalities, and it’s been fun to see how their relationships with each other develop from book to book. I’m curious about the strange stipulations in William’s will and the reasoning behind including them. I look forward to finding out in Vance’s story.
”I kiss her slowly, but possessively. Seduced by the possibilities I not only open my mouth as I deepen the kiss, but maybe my soul and probably my heart.”
Mills Aldridge is a hockey player and recovering from an injury. He's stuck in Baker's Creek while he weighs up his future options. His number one consideration is his little boy, Arden. The Aldridge clan is growing and they are in need of a nanny - although, one of the rules of their stay in Baker's Creek is that the family can't hire anyone to help them. So they need a workaround.
”I don’t want to fall for this guy so fast that there’s no net to catch me.”
Hadley Heywood is back home with her tail between her legs. She made an ignominious exit from her former job. Although her return to Baker’s Creek was somewhat fortuitous since her parents need her help. When a meeting with Mills Aldridge eventually leads to a mutually convenient arrangement between the Aldridges and her, she starts to settle back into the small town. There’s also her growing feelings for both Mills and his son.
Mills is such a sweet guy - sporty and a little bit nerdy, too! I love him! Apart from one misstep right near the end of the book – one taken with good intentions – he was so supportive of Hadley. His attraction to her was raw and honest, and they had a solid connection and understood each other pretty well. Little Arden was the cutest little kid – I loved his adoration of Hadley. She’s a strong, sensible woman who’s determined to be independent but she definitely has some small hurts going on under the surface. We also creep nearer to the truth and backstory about the brothers’ father, William. Overall, a fab read and I almost want to hold back the final story as I’m not ready to leave this family of gorgeous men with their feisty women!
As We Are by Claudia Burgoa is book five in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. Mills Aldridge is a thirty-four-year-old, single dad of Arden. Mills was a professional hockey player before he injured his knee and was forced to live in Baker’s Creek to fulfill the requirements of his father’s will along with his siblings. Mills needs a nanny for Arden. Enter Hadley Heywood, twenty-nine-year-old former resident of Baker’s Creek. Hadley is back in Baker’s Creek to help her parents with their bakery. She is the new baker at the bakery Mills frequents and within a short amount of time she becomes important to both Mills and his son. With Hadley back in town after leaving years ago and in a financial crisis, she becomes the Aldridge family nanny.
This story was so sweet and shorter than the previous ones in the series. I enjoyed Mills and Hadley together. They seem so perfect for each other. Mills is sweet, caring, and a great single dad to Arden and his developing relationship with his siblings is adorable! Hadley is kind, funny, and insanely intelligent.
In As We Are we see not only the development of a sweet relationship between Hadley and Mills, but we also see the progression of the Aldridge siblings from strangers into a genuine family. Each book in this series has the underlying basis of the Aldridge siblings being forced to live in Baker’s Creek and each getting their HEA. I enjoyed the familial banter and the love this family had for each other. We get some answers regarding the purpose of the mysterious will, but with the final secretive brother’s story remaining, there are still unanswered questions. Overall, this was an entertaining and engaging story.
When I started I was a bit confused but soon got hooked into the story 😊
Mills Aldridge is a 34year old single dad to the cutest little boy ever and he recently moved back to Baker’s Creek because of his father’s will. Mills was also a professional hockey player until he had a knee injury and now he is retired from hockey. Now he doesn’t know exactly what’s going to happen next for him, at least his surrounded by his brothers to help him out with raising his son and spending time with his brothers. So he doesn’t really have time for anything else does he? Until he meets Hadley in the park with his son… 😊
Hadley’s whole family is in Baker’s Creek, but after graduation she left the town and has been living her life far away from it. But now she is out of a job, homeless and single and her dad was in a accident so she guess its time to head back home. One night in the park she meets Arden and is immediately infatuated with him. And with little Arden comes his hot dad and soon they form a friendship. When Mills and his family need a Nanny and Hadley needs the financial help he makes her an offer she cant refuse. Things could become a whole lot more complicated…
I love single parent books. This book was just so sweet. Mills was an amazing dad and he was sweet and sexy and kind and the way Hadley was with his son made him fall for her even more. Hadley was independent and had no interest in what Mills could do for her except just wanting to be with him and his son. The chemistry between them was amazing and I felt like they were meant to be together. I am going back and reading the previous stories. I so want to get caught up with the rest of the family 😊 ♥
William Aldridge was not a nice man. He was an absent father, and when he wasn’t absent, he was terrible to his sons. After his death, these brothers who barely know each other are bound by the terms of William's will and have to live in the small town of Baker's Creek for eighteen months.
But here's the thing about William. The more I get to know him from his letters to his sons and their significant others, and from the history the brothers are able to dig up, the more I realize there's a lot to William we have yet to discover. And just maybe, he's not as awful as we think.
This time we get the hockey player's story. Mills is on leave from the team after a knee injury, so he and his three-year-old son, Arden, have settled in Baker's Creek. And with all the pairing up that's been going on with the Aldridge boys, babies are popping up everywhere. They really need to hire a nanny, but the will’s stipulation says only family or friends can care for the children.
Hadley Heywood is back in Baker's Creek, a place she swore never to return to. But her mother needs help in the bakery and her father needs full-time care, for now. Oh, and there's also that bit of catching her live-in boyfriend cheating, which results in Hadley being jobless as well as homeless. But maybe the Aldridge brothers' proposal can be mutually beneficial. Caring for the Aldridge children is a no-brainer since Hadley adores kids, and there's something extra special about little Arden.
Sweet, adorable Arden may just be my favorite Aldridge, and he thinks the sun rises and sets on Hadley. It doesn’t hurt that there's an intense attraction between Mills and Hadley, at least until Mills makes a classic Aldridge move.
I love absolutely everything about this book! Burgoa gives us surprising dashes of humor, a little steam, and all the heart we've come to expect from these brothers. Mills and Hadley are perfect together, and that little cutie pie, Arden? Well, he's definitely the first child character I’ve ever swooned over.
If you’re new to the Aldridges, you might enjoy the series best if you start at the beginning, but make sure you add them to your TBR now! You'll adore these ornery billionaires who love their women like no other. With themes of family, community and unconditional love, these brothers will win your heart. Full of laughs, angst, and all the feels, you won’t want to miss this one!!
When I say I'm a fan of this author that's a major understatement. I look forward to her books like a cool glass of water to quench my thirst. I was so excited to go back to Baker’s Creek. I was highly anticipating Mills finding someone to fall in love with him and his sweet boy Arden.
Unfortunately, As We Are felt very disconnected for me. It didn't give me the same feelings as the rest of the series. There were a few times when I seriously wondered if maybe someone else wrote it. It felt very rushed and not as well put together as the other brothers books. There were so many parts of the story that I feel could have been greatly expanded on to give the reader a deeper connection to Mills and Hadley and the series as a whole. I felt that something was missing pretty much the whole time I was reading it.
Of course I'm still chomping at the bit to get Vance's story which I expect will be more on point with the rest of the series. If you've never read this author I urge you to pick up one of her books. I love how all her stories are connected and you will always see characters from other books pop up in her current ones. It gives such a feeling of family and community because you never have to fully let go of your favorite characters.
I adore these brothers! I love how they all have their own personalities and quirks! Each book brings out another layer of what makes them tick and brings us a little closer to unraveling the mystery. As We Are was the fifth book in Claudia’s Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. It was sweet, sexy, and completely heartfelt!
Hadley’s life was not going the way she had imagined. After loosing her boyfriend and her job in the same day, she was forced to move home. Even though her Mom ended up needing her help, she felt completely out of place. Her only saving grace were her nights with Mills, but would it end up being too good to be true?
Oh my heart! Arden stole the show! It was so much fun to watch Mills and Hadley fall for each other. It was touching to see how much they wanted to make sure Arden’s needs were met as well as their own!! I am looking forward to see what is up next for these guys!
Mills and Hadley fill the spaces in each other. Their romance is comforting. They aren't the drama of the rest of his brothers.
Hadley just fits right in. From the first meeting with Mills and his adorable son, Arden, who saw her as mama from the beginning as if he knew what his daddy didn't yet.
I loved this one. It left me with a warm glow of happiness inside. Mills is definitely the low drama brother. He has a dash of drama when his Aldridge tendency to think he knows best takes over briefly, but luckily he comes to his senses quickly.
And Hadley fits great with all the other amazing women in the Aldridge world. She's smart, strong, loving, and loyal.
Of course, we get more clues to the mystery that was the late William Aldridge as well as time with the brothers and their loves. I can't wait to read Vance's book.
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
As We Are turned out to be exactly what I needed when I needed it. I've been waiting for Mills since the beginning of this series, and boy, does he ever deliver. The romance is everything I expect, and Claudia Burgoa kept the angst level relatively low for this one, at least in comparison to the last book in the series. So, we get a sexy romance complete with a single dad to save the day for a down on her luck woman. Pretty hard not to swoon a bit just at the sexy single dad part. The book is well written as always, and the author gives us plenty of her well-timed wit to chuckle over between swoony moments. This is part of a series, and while it does stand on its own, I'd still recommend starting at the beginning because you don't want to miss any of these great characters as they find their one and only.
——• 💰 This one is about Mills and Hadley, who became the household nanny. I loved this one and despite being a bit shorter than the rest, I feel like it suited Mills as it was super sweet and was perfect for his little boy Arden.

The storyline of this series has interested me and am actually enjoying it a shit load more then I thought I would.. the fact that there is 7 hot ass brothers who each get a book😜
Basically, a shitty ass father dies leaving billions of dollars and a whole town in the hands of his 6 sons but keep in mind, they all have different mothers and have absolutely no relationship with each other due to a past tragedy.
Now they are left scrambling to up and move their lives within 30 days to a town they all hate and into the same house for the next 18 months… I mean how could I not 😏😏
Rating 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars As We Are by Claudia Burgoa is book 5 of the Baker's Creek Billionaires ( The Aldridge Brothers) OMG.....I loved this book so much 😍🙌. This series is getting better with each book, and I am so not ready to say goodbye 😥. This has been one of my favorite series of the past couple years. I highly recommended!! There's a little bit for everyone in it. Mills and little Arden will still your heart and in comes Hadley. She is hired to help with childcare, but things heat up in-between her and Mills, after some struggles they form a perfect little family! Great to revisit with the big family, love them! You can read as a standalone, but the whole series is amazing, No cliffhanger, with a HEA!
ARC was given by author, thank you so much! My review is given voluntarily.
As We Are by C. Burgoa is book five in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The six Aldrige brothers are settled in Bakers Creek, are already through a lot of drama and action, some of them found their hea. Now it's Mills' and Hadley's turn. Mills is the single dad, former hockey player brother who's riddled by doubts. Hadley is a some director who's fresh out of a relationship and had to move back to Bakers Creek. And let me just say, there isn't much love left between the town and herself. But needs must be meet and she agrees to nanny the Aldridge kids - and she's good at it. Only the budding relationship between Mills and herself is about to makes things complicated. An entertaining read, an insta-connection to the characters, the next puzzle piece delivered, great storyline and writing, what's not to love, 5 stars.
Love this series, it's a must read and this one doesn't disappoint! 5 stars for this one!
Here we get Mills story, he's recuperating from an injury, so he's out of hockey for now. It's a tough decision for him, should he try to return to it, or retire. When he meets Hadley, because his son runs to her in a park, he can't deny the feelings he has for her. The park becomes the setting for them getting to know each other, and she also falls in love with his son Arden.
Hadley is back in Baker's Creek after an event that happened at her job. She had no idea that her parents were suffering so bad. She jumps in and helps out at the bakery with her mom, but then the Aldridge family makes her an offer to watch their kids, and they will help out her parent's.
When these two come together, you feel their spark and love for one another, and Arden will just steal your heart away! I think this one was my most favorite book in this series, though I do love them all. Grab this one asap!
