If I fall, the world will burn—but if I don’t, the cost will be too much: Easton.
The end of the centuries-long war is almost here, and the fate of the realm rests on my shoulders. The Gray has gathered his forces—and has me captive.
The enemy’s plan to control the kingdoms has been revealed, but traitors from both sides might alter the course of fate.
I must return to Easton and the others before all is lost. Battle lines must be forged, and surprising alliances cast. The prophecy has never altered, and life comes at an ultimate price.
Not all who fight will survive, but in the end, it will come down to a choice.

A wonderful addition to an amazing series. Magic, mystery, love and friendship this is a book that grabs you from the beginning and keeps you consumed. A definite must read for all Carrie Ann Ryan fans.
From Shadow and Silence is the 4rth and I want to final but don't think so book in the Elements of Five series by Carrie Ann Ryan. Don't get me wrong, Lyric's story ends in this book, but I recall that the author said that the series would have 5 books and that the 5th one was going to be about a different character. The author's note at the end of this book makes me 99% positive that we will get that 5th book. The story ends with this book though and some people get their happily ever afters.
Maybe I am hoping for another book so much because I want to see more of these characters. I was happy with the ending, but I would have loved to see more of the realm after the final battle. I know that the characters who survived are going to be alright and things can only get better from now on for them, though that doesn't stop me from feeling like I have missed something.
The book had everything a YA paranormal reader would want for the final chapter of a story and the twists were good, unexpected and some of them made me smile. There was a thing that bothered me since the first book and it was, in a way, resolved in FSAS which made me very happy.
In the begging, I felt a little disconnected from the story because there were some parts that were represented as more important than what I remembered them to be, like Lyric and Rhodes' romance. I got over that after a couple of chapters and I was quickly immersed in the story. Honestly, if I had felt like we got closure I would have given it 5 stars Overall the series has gotten a 4.5-star average rating from me, so it's obvious that I loved it and I would recommend it
Words cannot express how excited I had been for this book. This series has quickly become one of my absolute favorites and I was waiting on pins and needles for each to come out. CARRIE ANN DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!
This book was the end of all ends to a series. It was absolutely PERFECT!!!! Between the drama with the Gray, the crystals, budding romances, new alliances, there were so many amazing parts and pieces. It was one big puzzle that was so much fun and satisfying to put together. A lot of endings still leave you with questions, but not this one. We got every question answered, we got the best of the best from every single character. Seriously, NO WORDS!
I have not been this enthralled in a series in a long time, it pulled me out of a HUGE reading slump. Carrie Ann's writing is so special, and the way she wrote this series was truly magical. You felt like you were in this world right there with them. It had perfect imagery and perfect characters. You can't ask for more in a YA Fantasy series! I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next
I have loved this series since the beginning and the end was an amazing ride. There were twists I didn't see coming and watching the realm come together was perfect. A great finish to a great series.
Fantastic conclusion to the series!!! This is the fourth and final book in the series and I would definitely say that you need to read the previous books before starting this one. They all build off of one another with what is going on. You would be lost without having read the previous ones as certain things wouldn't make sense without having all the details. We have been following Lyric and her group as she has struggled to find the evil that is permeating the Maison realm and destroying it, to figure out the prophecy that she seems to be the biggest part of, and unlocking her powers and trying to figure out how to use them and become strong enough. This story is written really well. It captivates from beginning to end! I would have loved to have started from book one and read through this all back to back (and will later on) as they are so interconnected and bits and pieces from earlier books all come back and make a difference in what is going on here. This is a complicated story and at the same time, not. We have gotten to see these characters grow and mature into the strong people that they have become, strong enough to do what must be done to save others and the realm. I love the twists and turns and how sacrifice doesn't always mean what you think. I love how this story shows the different types of rebirth and perseverance and how that pays off. Things might look bleak for our characters at times but it is even more glorious when they hit that pinnacle to come out on top. I love the secondary characters in these story and the banter between all of them. This story closely follows more than just Lyric and her soulmate, Easton, on their journey to save the Maisons. There are plenty of twists and turns within this book as well as twists happening and finishing from previous books. I don't want to say too many specific details as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone lol. I love getting to see Lyric and Easton together in this one. We get to see them lean on each other in the midst of everything going on. I love the support group that Lyric has built as she is the catalyst for the group that has come together. I love the characters that come back in this conclusion from her journey in previous books to help battle it out. I know this is the conclusion book for Lyric, Easton, and the realm but I am really really hoping that we will get more set in this world and get to see the other characters that were such a large part of the story get their own happy endings and soulmates. I love this world that Carrie Ann Ryan has created. It is different and well crafted. She did a fantastic job of it and made it feel real and I'm not ready to leave it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this book
At the very beginning of this wonderful series three friends, Lyric, Braelynn and Emory found themselves transported to The Mason Realm, a Realm divided into two Courts ruled by the Queen of Obscurité and the King of Lumière, two Courts who have been at war since The Fall. A war orchestrated by The Grey, an evil force so strong is it even possible to defeat him?
At the end of the last book a battle was fought between Lyric, her mate Easton (King of Obscurité) and all their friends and allies old and new against the King of Lumière and his allies and although many losses were suffered they won. Then Lyric and Braelynn, her familiar and best friend were taken by the Grey to the shadow realm.
The Gray believed he had the upper hand that Lyric was contained but she and Braelynn were stronger than he knew and they managed to get back to their friends and allies and a much relieved Easton. More of the prophecy was made known to Lyric making her believe that they could win the war against the Grey if they found more allies but that in the end, she would die.
Now the Prince of the Lumière, Rhodes and Easton the King of the Obscurité are allies, and together they search for more to join their family/ranks and they set out across both realms looking for more allies and defeating enemies as they go. This journey is not easy and it's not without loss as they work to unite the whole realm under one banner in order to be able to defeat the Grey. Enemies become friends, and the battle to end all battles is fought.
There is so much more I could tell you but that would involve spoilers and I don't want to do that, I want you to be on the edge of your seat, as I was on mine, waiting to see what the outcome was going to be. What I will tell you is that this was a wonderful conclusion to this interesting and intriguing story. All our questions were answered and peace was restored to the Mason Real.
As for Lyric, Braelynn and Emory even after everything, their friendship remains strong although none of the girls is as they were before.
The narration of this wonderful series by Bailey Carr and Holter Graham is consistently excellent, each character, and there are many, is easily recognised and the emotion they imbued lifted this excellent story to an even higher level.
The events took place right after Lyric, her mate Easton (King of Obscurité), her friends old and new and her allies won the battle against the King of Lumière. They knew that they needed more allies to help them defeat The Gray.
As they were making plans to make the crystal whole again Lyric and her familiar/best-friend, Braelynn were taken by the shadow. Easton wasn't willing to sit by and let the love of his life be ripped out of his life when he'd just gotten her back.
Before he could rescue Lyric, he had to take care of his people which his best-friend Wyn reminded him. He was grateful to her for pulling him out of the abyss he was heading into. Lyric on her end was doing everything to get back to her loved ones and her people.
The Gray and his minions thought they had the upper hand, they really underestimated Lyric, Easton, their friends and their allies. There were traitors and losses on both sides and when all was said and done only the truth and those on the side of good were left standing.
There was more beneath the eye when it came to the prophecy, loved how Lyric with the help of her mate handled it. They had the family they'd made for themselves right there with them. It was great to see enemies becoming the best of friends.
Everything became full circle for Lyric, Braelynn and Emory.
FROM SHADOW AND SILENCE is the fourth book in Carrie Ann Ryan's ELEMENTS OF FIVE series. OMG what an intriguing, fascinating, mind-blowing and action-packed way to end this captivating series. Carrie Ann Ryan did a magnificently awesome job! 5🌟🌟🌟🌟
****I received this book, without any obligation to review.****
From beginning to end Carrie Ann Ryan keeps readers on the edge of their seats for the climactic conclusion of the Elements of Five Series. Shadow and Silence is a fantastic ending to this fantasy series.
Lyric has grown tremendously over the course of this series and everything she has prepared for comes to this point. Fighting through prophecy, enemies, friendship and love there’s a lot riding on this girl's shoulders. The pieces of the puzzle are all about to fall in place, as twist interns come out of places we didn’t expect and the enemy is in breathing distance.
I am not a huge fan of young adult series however I do have to give Ms. Ryan credit where credit is due. Lyric is an exceptionally strong character who overcame many obstacles, she thought her destiny. The world building is outstanding. While reading you can almost feel as if you’ve stepped into another world. The characters are definitely what made the story but the setting enhances the telling of the tail in every way. The story is unique and is told in a way that just grabs the readers attention. Ms. Ryan ends this series fantasticall
I am fortunate because I get to write this review as someone who has read the books in the series and has listened to them AND as the mom of a teenager who would rather do almost anything else than read/ listen to books. My 13-year-old who does NOT like to read, loved this series. As a mom, to find a series that entertains us both is absolute gold.
In From Shadow and Silence we reach the culmination in the battle between the Gray and his followers and those who want to save the realm. Lyric, Easton, Rhodes, and the rest of their crew try to recruit unlikely allies in their quest to save life as they know it. Something feels off and doesn't sit well... is there someone in their group who is trying to sabotage them? Who is it? Will they succeed in their mission?
This book was action packed and difficult to pause. I didn't want to put it down while I read it and I felt the same way listening to it. The only downfall was the sound quality for Holter Graham, although his performance was great. Bailey Carr was, as always, a delight to listen to.
If you haven't read the other books in this series then please do before starting this one as it picks up straight where the last book left off.
Honestly I was 100% hooked from beginning to end and have been eagerly awaiting this final instalment.
As with each book in this series there is so much going on from beginning to end. New alliances made, relationships formed, connections made and broke. Every question you have from throughout is answered and they were the answers you wanted.
I am quite sad to say good bye to this series as Carrie Ann Ryan has done an amazing job weaving this setting for this story, her character development has been flawless.
I can't wait to see what she brings us next.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review from the Author and Give Me Books
How does one even begin to review such a climactic ending of a brilliant series? Once again the book begins without hesitation grabbing the reader and immediately drawing them in; the writing is fast paced & action packed. If you’re a fan of holding onto the edge of your seat the entire time and then being completely blown away by unpredictable twists, this fantasy series is for you.
From Shadow and Silence is book #4 of the Elements of Five series. The tension between the characters is brought to the surface by love, war, intense fight scenes, & fate.
The pieces all come together in this enchanted storyline in a finale that had me both happy and saddened that it’s over. It’s absolute literary fantasy perfection.
Without giving too much away, I highly suggest giving Lyric & Easton a chance to bring you into an entire new world. They will blow your mind.
I am really not a fan of fantasy novel person. This series was fantastic. The details are amazing. If you have not read the other 3 books stop now and go read them first. Every detail in this series just flows through the story. The story connects through all four books. There is a lot of action in this series and all of it connects through the books. This was the final book in the series and the story did not disappoint. It is definitely a story of hope and love and friendship that can last through anything. I am very happy that the main character Lyric and Easton got the HEA. I would have been so sad if one lost the other. There was loss but it all worked out in the end for the greater good of the story. I will definitely be checking out Carrie's other story. i may just like some more fantasy story's.
This is book 4, and the last book, in the Elements of Five series. I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this one as they all lead into this final book! Ok So I don't want to say a lot because I feel like it would be giving a lot of the story away, and I don't want to ruin it for anyone! I loved how this whole series played out and this book couldn't have been more perfect! Everything comes around that needed to, all my questions were answered, and I even had my moments where I didn't think it would work out like I had hoped. But oh, it so did! Lyric, and her group as a whole, are strong characters. And such strong characters with such a great storyline always sucks me in. While I am sad that this series is ending, it definitely made for a great read and took me out of my head when I needed it!
“From Shadow and Silence” is book four and the conclusion in Carrie Ann Ryan’s “The Elements of Five” series. This continues on from book three ‘ From Spirit and Binding’.
The highly anticipated conclusion that we have all been waiting for is finally here. We’ve been on wild journey from the beginning of the series and now it’s come full circle with this book. Lyric has been put through the ringer, with each and every obstacle that she has come across she has overcome it with flare.
Lyric, Easton and their friends come together for one more wild, action packed, emotional roller coaster of a ride.
Well done Ms Ryan for once again giving us an exceptionally addictive and highly obsessive series. Loved each and every word!
Everything finally comes together in this exciting, action-filled last installment in this breathtaking YA series. I’ve been so curious to see how Lyric and Easton and all their friends—and enemies—would fare once the prophecy came true. I was not disappointed. Wow. The author did a great job throwing in some curveballs and surprising me with some of the plot twists. I love the mix of fantasy, action, and romance elements in this series and the way the characters, main and secondary, grow throughout their (mis)adventures. Lyric has really matured along the way, and I love her and Easton as a couple. I’m hoping this is not the end because I would love to read stories focused on the secondary characters we got to know and love.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "FROM SHADOW AND SILENCE". WOW!!!! this is one addicting wild rollercoaster ride full of intense drama, suspense, intrigue, betratal, romance, angst, emotions, secrets, mystery, fast paced action packed twist & turns what a page turner. Gray gathered his forces had Lyric in his clutches the enemy wants to control all the kingdoms traitors on both sides could changed the course of Fate. Lyric had to get back to Easton & their friends she had alot to do to get everyone to work together so much happens you'll love this adventure the final battle good VS evil to bring peace to all the realms. I definitely recommend to this excellently well written conclusion it won't disappoint do well worth the read. AWESOME CLOSURE TO THIS PHENOMINAL SERIES!!!
From Shadow and Silence is a great conclusion to the Elements of Five series by Carrie Ann Ryan. Readers are kept on the edge of their seats until the climatic conclusion. Lyric has grown up through the series with tremendous amount of pressure weighing on her shoulders from the prophecy, enemies, love, and friendship. Twists and turns will reveal secrets. From Shadow and Silence is an amazing story with great characters that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. Carrie Ann Ryan is a fantastic author and never disappoints. I would highly recommend getting From Shadow and Silence and the other books in the Elements of Five series by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
From Shadow and Silence by Carrie Ann Ryan is the fourth and final book in the Elements of Five series and it was full of surprises and had me captivated from start to finish. Narrated by Bailey Carr and Holter Graham, they brought the world of Elements of Five to life. All books do need to be read in order and it is so worth it. With new allies and enemies, our heroes are fighting for what they believe and stand for. I do not want to give to much away, but his was an enthralling paranormal story with a great story and characters. I could imagine this world and what our characters were facing while listening. This was a great ending to an amazing series and one I highly recommend.
What a great conclusion to this series. I was surprised at some of the turns in the road and pleasantly surprised with what happened to our favorite characters. I liked what happened to the Gray - he deserved it!. Lyric had her work cut out for her in getting everyone to work together. They knew how to fight toget her but work together. It's a learning process. Rhoades and Easton were both good leaders and they had to learn not to be at odds with each other. Wait until you see what happens with Braelynn. That was wonderful!! How does Carrie think of these things. Again, I will reread this series often.
I got this book from the author for an honest review
This was the wonderful conclusion to the Elements of Five series, where we have been eagerly awaiting the final battle and finding out who would be victorious (probably the good guys, but at what cost). This is not a easy-reading-romance, where the good guy always wins and everyone miraculously lives happily ever after. This series has been from the start both gritty and realistic, despite the fantasy genre.
We get to see the conclusion to Lyric's rollercoaster journey and the epic battle to save the Maison realm. This is a wonderful book to tie up a great series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Coming together to confront the Gray, new allies and friends join forces and destiny is fulfilled. While this installment of the journey starts with Lyric taken hostage and her mate, Easton’s struggle against needing to get her back versus his responsibilities to take care of his people, that is just the start of this fast paced, action packed gift. I just loved Lyric - her strength of character pulled me in from the beginning. Consistent with any epic this battle between good and evil had no shortage of pain, angst, twists and turns to keep you enthralled through the entire book. Carrie Ann Ryan never disappoints!!
The finale of The Elements of Four series ends the journey of the spirit priestess and her friends. When we last left Lyric she and Braylynn were taken by the Gray. The story picks up immediately after this event, finding us between Lyric's and Easton's POV. The story is fast paced as the author quickly reunites the pair and has them battle for the realm. While the group struggles with loss, they work to save all in the realm. The author tied up the loose ends, but I hoped she would have given the readers a glimpse into the future with HEA for all the characters we became involved with in the 4 book series.
What an emotional (yes, there were tears!) heart stopping ending to a thrilling series. This picks up right where From Spirit and Binding left off, with Lyric taken at the end of a battle and Easton desperate to find her. I’m not going to tell you where she is or any information like that (you need to read to get the full effect, not have me give you a play-by-play). Suffice it to say, secrets are revealed, THINGS HAPPEN, and the major battle is on the horizon. And you don’t know who will make it, who won’t, and truly what will happen. At times it’s gut-wrenching and at time’s heart warming. But in all, a wonderful ending to this series. Well done Carrie Ann
I've been going through a funk where nothing appeals to me and I don't want to read which just made me depressed since reading is my go to happy place. I started to read From Shadow and Silence and then my not wanting to read started. It finally dawned on me it was because I didn't want this series to end and if I read the book it would be over. I finally picked it up again after a good talking too and WOW, it was awesome...From Shadow and Silence was everything I knew it would be and more. From the first page to the last Carrie Ann Ryan's words grab you and take you on a magical journey. I'm so glad I finally read it and I would definitely recommend the Elements of Five series.
This is the final book for Lyric and Easton and Rhodes and Rosamond and all of the others. Some unlikely allies in their fight against the grey. And an unknown and surprising traitor in their camp. So many things happen in this book. The fight against the grey. The spirit wielders speaking in riddles. Death, rebirth, a new King. The only thing I have to say is I still have so many questions. With the way it ended we could possibly see more. At least I'm kinda hoping so.
Bailey Carr is a perfect Lyric. And Holter Graham did a fabulous job as both Easton and Rhodes. Two very different main characters and yet he masters them both. These two were perfect for this series.
A grand conclusion for Elements of Five, journeying to different realms, learning it takes all of the good people (even with differing opinions) working together to defeat evil, to bring peace to all from all realms, finding your soul mate and working together to find solutions, learning to trust not only yourself but those around you. Hop on this magical carpet ride and enjoy all of the twists, turns, and revelations of the final journey of Lyric, Easton and their friends and family. Loved it!!
I love when I can picture in my mind the scenery and people and action of a storyline, and this series absolutely comes to life on the page. Written through Lyric and Easton’s POVs the “feels” grab you and break your heart but you still have hope. The baddie is evil incarnate, strange creatures are coming from other realms to thwart our intrepid group of soldiers but even as they mourn many lost friends they uplift each other to carry on the fight. And what a battle it is, yet it is so worth it for the happy ending that brings a smile and a sigh.
This is book #4 in the Elements of Five Series and what an amazing ride this series was. There are so many twists and turns you won't see coming. It's an action packed and mind blowing series, in a good way of course. I was hooked on Lyric, Easton, Rhodes and the gang from the first page of book #1. This story is fast paced and addictive. What a fabulous conclusion. I can't wait to see what comes in the future for certain other characters. ( I can hope right?) I definitely recommend this 5+ star read.
Holy wow. Where do I start? I suppose I should say that I haven’t read any of the other Elements of Five books, yet I was immediately invested in these characters. If you have read the others then hold on tight. Side note: I do plan to go back and read the ones that came before but I was able to jump in to this book with very little questions. Lyric is just amazing. I loved her from the first page and was rooting for her to when the battle against the Gray. The dynamic between her, Easton and Rhodes was perfect. It is a wild ride with a lot of heartbreaking moments but in the end I was very happy with the ending….. I want more however. Hopefully someday.
