Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Okay you know what, Andy was a sweet guy and she didn't deserve to break his heart. And you know how I know this?

Because he told me so - in his actions, in his words, the way he treated her before - Goddamn you Samantha.

But she was still slightly hard to tolerate...unfortunately. I mean look I understand her reasons...but I can't sympathise with her completely.

So despite a great romance and HEA, Andy deserved better. The writing was still phenomenal, so was Andy (no to Samantha) and the plot itself was great.

So despite a slight letdown:

I liked Samantha and I hope for more novels by Taya.

Until the next read,

Samantha, a super short but sweet novella by Taya Rune was a quick read featuring two people that fell in love at a young age, but each wanted something different in life—so they made the hard decision to each go their own way. This is the classic story of finding the right person, your soul mate, but sadly at the wrong time and Rune does a beautiful job of eloquently creating that story.

Our FMC Samantha wanted to travel the world and create a name for herself with her designs, while Andy wanted to settle down, have children and to start a life with the woman he loved. When a proposal doesn’t go as planned, they make hard decisions and decide to go for their own way and following those dreams. Separately. This is a story of them each living their lives, but always reminiscing about what could have been. When fate puts them back in each other’s paths is it too late for their love, or finally…the right time?

Overall this is a fun second chance at love story that was an enjoyable read. While there wasn’t really that much time to dive into the characters more, and build a strong connection, with them, you can’t help but feel the pain of their “doomed” relationship early on and hope for their reconnecting at a later date.

Samantha and Andrew dated for two years and he asked her to marry him. She turned him down, told him he never listened, she did not want children and he wanted to build a life there and she did not. Sam leaves him broken hearted and eventually he starts dating one of her friends and they get married and have two children.

Thirty years after Andrew proposed Sam is home for her father's funeral. She has had the professional success but not really any success in love. She is in her old bedroom and in walks in the last person she expected to see, Andrew.

Could this be a second chance at romance between the two?

This is more first story but the author. While I would have never made the choices Sam made by throwing away Andrew, I really enjoyed the story and how it came together.

A super sweet novella about two young people who wanted different things in life, but they never forget the love they shared. Andy wanted children and to settle down, while Samantha wanted to travel the world. This caused them to break up. They each made their dreams come true, but no matter what happened, they couldn’t stop thinking about their first love.

Another lovely read in this novella series.
Samantha and Andrew are a classic case of right person wrong time.
At the end of this story I had the song Incase You Didn't Know by Brett Young playing in my head. It was very fitting.
A really nice second-chance romance that shows people can part ways, full lives can be lived, and they can find themselves reconnecting much later in life.
A very enjoyable quick read.

I received the novella "Samantha" the second book in the Reflections of Love series by Taya Rune, as an ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

Samantha (Sam) has returned to her childhood home to attend the funeral and wake of her father. Flooded with memories of her childhood her bedroom remains untouched, though she had left 30 years ago.

Andrew (Andy) meets Sam while volunteering to search for a missing 9yr old boy, who has wondered off on a hiking trail. Having hiked for years, Sam leads a search team. They start to chat and we learn that Andy has hopes of opening and running a tour guide business in the Blue Mountains, where they live.

Their relationship has many twists and turns.

There are alot of events that occur in the book, her illustrious career, his successful tour guide business, relationships, marriages, him having two children with her best friend, loss, an affair.

There is so much I loved about this book. The cover was classy drew me in, the blurb held my attention and would be a book I would read. The plot was strong, character development and core values and ideologies hold steady throughout. Sam although in love with Andy sacrifices her future with him to chase her dreams, making herself number one. I admire that as in relationship too many people sacrifice for their spouse, quite often loosing themselves, putting their own needs second.

I love Taya's attention to detail, even the smallest thing. Although a novella the story was never rushed. I didn't want to put it down.

I have found an author that is dedicated to her craft and is successful in delivering a believable story. I fully support this book. Definately one to buy, take a chance on and read.

This was a pretty good book. It was a very quick read for me. The writing style was different than I’ve read before and it took a bit to get used to but overall it was a good book. I will definitely read more books by Taya.
