Sweet on You #1

Sweet on Wilde

Rate this book
Cheesy pick up lines. Inappropriate messages. Disaster dates.

I was tired of being “Savannah, profile 8713,” but I made a deal with my best friend to give online dating a chance. What I wasn’t counting on was meeting a guy at the local bar.

Parker Wilde won me over with his two-step and blue eyes. He brought out the best in me and understood the worst, but when an amazing opportunity presents itself and our lives take different directions, is being sweet on Wilde enough for us?

Note: This book is as sweet as the cupcakes the heroine makes and as charming as the hero. Low on drama, high on love.

I was honored when I received an ARC from Fabiola Francisco for Sweet on Wilde. This book was a true pleasure to read.

I will always be a fan of books that hold the fantasy that love comes to you when you least expect it. The relationship between these two characters, Parker and Savannah, is beautiful. Their story unfolds between the pages in a very real and honest manner.

Francisco's writing continues to thrive with her detailed descriptions of places, spaces and fashion. Another layer to the author's writing is this time we have both lighthearted humor and laugh out loud comedy. It's a fantastic balance.

We begin with Savannah losing a bet to her best friend, Emily. Now, she has to fill out an application for an online dating service and MUST stick with it for six months.

After several attempts to connect (and one night at the bar)... Enter Parker. After making light conversation and teasing Savannah over her failed dates, he says....

Like Francisco's prior novels, Sweet on Wilde overflows with romance and passion.

The relationship progresses... {Not so much like this... but, as reader I was all... YES! It's happening}

But more like this...

The storytelling is the perfect mix of sassy-pants humor, steamy sex and "chocolatey pumpkin muffin" sweetness.{Yes, you will want to eat everything Savannah prepares in the book.}

Then we have a crossroads....

Feelings... NO! Please! Don't say that...

More Feelings... and Parker...

And maybe... just maybe...

I'm not telling you how it turns out ...

Loved it! Such a sexy, sweet story!!! Add this to your TBR now!

The title is perfect. Both sweet and wild....this book takes the reader on an emotional journey that is equal parts funny, emotional and tender.

As a self professed urban-girl, I don't always get the country guy allure thing unless Fabiola is writing it. Francisco has a way with Southern guys that makes me want to ditch a life of taxicabs for cowboy boots.

In Sweet on Wilde, we meet Savannah, delectable bake shop owner, who is delving into the world of online dating. After a series of crude interactions and emotionless meet and greets....she meets Parker. Parker, the baseball player full of Southern Charm.

The romance goes up and down and twists and turns, the way a young love affair should. It's not always easy, but life isn't...and I love that Francisco shows this in her book(s). Especially, in Sweet on Wilde because let's face it- being single sucks and worrying if you will find your other half is something many young people experience.

Favorite moment:
Curious, I ask, “What about you? What is a super star baseball player doing still single?” “
"I’ve just been unlucky in love . . .” I look up to meet his eyes again. “Until now..."

Does "Sav" find her match in Parker?
Well you have to read to find out...

Warning: DO NOT read on an empty stomach! Savannah's goodies will make your tummy rumble.
5 I need a Southern guy stars.
*LUCKY to receive an ARC for this book.

The heroin is independent, owns her own business and its looking for love, but she never thought she will find it in the hands of a baseball player! they faced a lot of challenges, but as it should be love conquers all! great book!! and I can't wait for more!

***5 STAR REVIEW***5 STAR REVIEW***

This book starts out with Savannah and how she made a deal with her best friend, Emily, that if they were still single after eight months, they would try online dating. Unfortunately for Savannah, Emily found someone after she moved to Atlanta but Savannah didn’t. Savanna doesn’t back down on a deal so she kept her end of the bargain, so she signed up with online dating website, Perfect Match.

Savannah goes out on some silly dates with guys from Perfect Match at her favorite hangout called Southern but there is no chemistry with any of the men. Then she meets Parker at her favorite bar and the sparks start flying between them, but its not all roses as they clash a little bit. When they do finally start spending time together, they form an unbreakable bond. Was Savannah’s perfect match at the bar the whole time rather than an online dating website? Can she have her happily – ever after like Emily?

The love scenes in this book between Parker and Savannah were really hot. I liked the fact that Savannah needed to feel a connection with Parker before she even jumped into bed with him. When I was reading the book I felt a very strong connection with both of the characters.

This book was Amazing! It was so intriguing to read, it had me from the first page. I read this book within 3 days from getting the book. I absolutely loved this book! It was a beautiful and sweet book, watching their love sneaking up on them when they are looking in all the wrong places. There were some twists and turns in this book and I cried in a few parts, but I loved how the author brought it all together. Please note this is a standalone book.

This is an awesome book! I will definitely recommend this book to all my book friends and family

5 ++ Baseball Stars!! (you had me at "Baseball" Fabiola then you throw in a sexy man! Hello!!) #SwooningOverParker

From the moment we were introduced to Parker (a southern gentleman) and Savannah it was kindergarten all over again. That time when the boy pinches you, pulls your hair, calls you names all because he likes you. The banter between the two is sweet and cute and had my heartstrings singing a happy tune.

Parker is a sexy ex-baseball player and know how to run those bases! "Too bad I was hoping to cover some bases with you." Savannah owns her own sweet shop and knows how to pour on the sweet. Each character was very likable and you felt a connection between each page that you read. I could not flip pages fast enough because I was swooning over every word.

Fabiola did such an amazing job writing this story it is truly one of my favorites. From the first page you will be LOL I promise! I had to message her just to let her know she had me tearing up with the hilarious first paragraphs. It hits shelves on June 7th so be sure to grab it and see for yourself. Just remember Parker is all mine! ;)

"I'm hooked on Parker and he knows it"
B.O.B. Not needed! ;)

Happy Reading <3

I was super excited to read this book, simply because already the blurb really drew me in . And the book didn't disappoint.

The story between Savannah and Parker is sweet, heart-warming and feel-good. Yes, there are some itty bitty parts as well that will break your heart, but overall this is a story about finding love in unexpected places and when you least expect it.

I am never a fan of giving too much info of a book away, so I won't! The things I will tell you are the following:

The story will make you feel good and close the book with a smile on your face. I can't really describe it better, but while reading the story you just feel your heart swell with love for the characters and even shed a tear here and there. Fabiola knows when that happened for me, because I told her I was sitting in a train full of people when tears were in my eyes. But not because it was so terrible, but because there are moments in there that are simply heart-breaking and yet wonderful.

The characters Fabiola created are easily likeable as well. I mean, who doesn't know the feeling of not finding the right guy for you and slowly becoming desperate? I know I sure do. So Savannah was definitely easy to relate to for me. Also, the fact that she owned a bakery made me love her all the more. It just fit in the whole theme of sweetness for me. She's a passionate and dedicated woman that would do anything for the people she loved and would protect them with everything she had. I loved that about her. I loved how she cared about Parker, about her grandmother, but also about her store workers. And it hasn't always been easy for her in life. So the combination of her independence as well as her willingness to help others out sold me on her characters in only a few chapters.

As for Parker: I mean, Parker was just amazing. The cocky person he seemed to be in the beginning wasn't at all what he turned out to be. In truth, he's this charismatic, incredibly loyal and family-oriented guy that will make you swoon within a few pages. Seriously. He'd be a great catch for anyone out there, so if you are still looking for a guy by your side, maybe ask Fabiola to bake you one or so.

The chemistry between the two of them is definitely there, but more than the sexual tension I loved the sweetness with which they interacted. I know I'm saying sweet a lot in this review, but that's just what this book was, in the best way possible. Plus, it definitely fits with the title.

Fabiola's writing yet again made it really easy to get lost in the story and not wanna move away from it, which is one of the reasons why I really love reading her books. And will continue to do so!!

So, thank you Fabiola Francisco for letting me read this truly sweet and great book that I will always get out when I need something to clearly warm my heart.

Isn't strange when we now read a book, we wait for something bad to happen, believing that every story has to have some major drama, then we pray for a happy ending.
This book was definitely sweet and wild. I am more than Sweet on Wilde. Parker Wilde is a great character, full of charm and such a romantic. He's very good looking, the kind that makes your stomach have butterflies just by looking at him. Life has not be so kind to Parker. He suffered an injury while playing in the minors, so no chance of him going pro baseball player. He was lucky to have such a great family around him, because like most of us he has an ex girlfriend and she is an ex for a reason. Some women just don't realise how lucky they are.
Savannah who owns a bakery shop in her home town, made a pact with her best friend, not really thinking it would ever happen but alas life is so unpredictable and here she is signing up for an on line dating site, the joys of being single. Savannah has had a series of bad dates and just wants to give up. She is busy one night explaining to her friend, Jake about the randomness of some of the guys on line. Funny stories but so true unfortunately. When she hears someone laughing at her, clearly eavesdropping on her conversation. She dislikes him instantly, how rude she thought. Whilst reading the book I had a feeling that something bad was looming and we were going to either see a break up or someone cheating or a sudden change of events, however we are rewarded with a charming and sweet read all round. Savannah becomes sweet on Wilde. This is a lovely read, the characters are fun. Some laugh out loud moments. Above all else it was nice and refreshing to read something that actually could happen in real life. No millionaire, no virgin waiting to be taken, just a young woman living in a small town, living life and looking for love.
I am now hoping to hear more about the other characters. As always I am left with questions as to what their lives are like. I want to hear about Jake, but also Parker's brother, Chris. They sound like interesting characters. I would recommend this read to anyone who loves romance stories.

Author Fabiola Francisco has perfected the art of writing characters to fall in love with.
She has a smooth writing style that allows you to fall into the story without interruption, while using strong character development and humor to hook you. Before long, you've been reading for hours, ignoring the life happening around you.
The author did amazing job of getting across the complicated feelings of the dating scene. Taking us on the roller coaster of emotions that each of us have gone through wondering if we will ever find, "The One."
Savannah is such a likable character and I really wanted her to find her happy ever after. Sometimes, almost to the point of getting irritated with her, like you do with your best friends when they just can't see what's right in front of them!
And Parker... he seriously makes me want to move to the south and find myself a southern man! So funny and sweet at the same time. Seriously swoon worthy.
Put the two of them together and it was like throwing a pack of firecrackers onto an open fire! Yes, this is a sweet love story, but don't let this author fool you...She can write steam too!
I am officially Team Fabiola.
I vow to snatch up anything this author wants to write! Read this book and I promise, you will be joining her team too!

I was offered a chance to read an ARC of this new novel by Fabiola Francisco and I am honoured that I did.

This is a story which …like the title says…is sweet. BUT don’t let that sweetness fool you. There is enough passion and heat to melt your Kindle. But the author has found the perfect balance between the two.

Savannah is a great character. She is strong and sassy and is not afraid to face her fears. She takes a chance in this novel and it brings her the greatest reward…love. I heart her!

Parker…SWEET MOTHER OF MARY…Parker! He is the ultimate Southern Gentleman. Gorgeous, charming and funny. I plan on moving to the South to find my own Southern hottie! wink emoticon

I loved how this story made me feel. Made me smile and made my heart melt. It showed that one should never give up, to not be afraid to take a chance…it just might change your life.

This is one of my TOP reads so far this year and I cannot recommend this story and author enough!

I absolutely loved this book. I thought it was a beautiful and sweet story about love sneaking up on you when you’re looking in the wrong places.
I felt that the love scenes between Parker and Savannah were hot. But I loved that Savannah needed to have a connection with Parker before she jumped into bed with him. Such a refreshing change from other books I’ve read.
And speaking of connections, I really felt a strong connection to both characters. I could see a bit of myself in each of them and in turn, these characters burrowed their way into my heart. Thanks to Ms. Francisco for writing such a beautiful and inspiring book.

4 Sweet STARS!!

**Received an ARC from author for an honest review.**

Sweet on Wilde is a stand-alone with no cheating.

I felt it was a slow start. She's a 28 year-old successful bakery owner and Savannah made a pact with her BFF. If she was still single by a certain date, she would sign up for on-line dating. But love often find us when we are least expectant and/or where we least expect it! This was true with Savannah. When she meets Parker I instantly knew this was the guy I'd be reading about as the Hero.

"I may not be from Tuscaloosa, but I am a southern boy, Savannah."

I was on edge the whole book thinking that the relationship between Parker and Savannah was 'too good to be true'.

"What we have so far is perfect, and I bask in that relationship but also fear it's too good to be true."

I kept thinking, there must be some huge issue about to arise. But it never happened. In hindsight, that was a good thing! The characters were intriguing, keeping me interested enough to continue. Parker had this protective and playful side to him. Their flirty banter was great! Their dates are told in great length and while I would generally be disinterested in every minute detail - I found this quite refreshing! I could feel their connection building. And it helped, with the dialogue between Parker and Savannah, to learn more of their characters. Parker was passionate about his career and this was something Savannah could easily relate to. In her past, she'd always have a hard time balancing her life outside of work with work. Work always came first.

"He is someone I would actually put my career to the side for and find balance with. Someone, I want to prioritize my life with."

When Parker is offered his dream job, and it's a state away, I really felt the push and pull from them. Savannah, knowing he can't miss out on this opportunity. Feeling that if he does, he could resent her in the future. And Parker, not wanting to leave her.

This book was written with such finesse! Just enough angst, just enough emotion, just enough hot factor, just enough sexy... contained all the perfect ingredients! And the epilogue... yay!! I loved getting that glimpse into their future! A great end to Savannah and Parker's story!

"Guy meets girl at a bar, girl is snappy, guy is pushy, finally they date and its perfect. Yup, sounds about right."

Fabiola did a really great job of writing a heartwarming and fun story. I adored the two main characters, Savannah and Parker, in the book and they were both really good people. Although this book isn’t full of crazy it was a very good read, very real and definitely a feel good book. There are plenty of laughs to make this book fun too!

We start out with Savannah making good on a deal with her best friend, Emma. They had both agreed to sign up on an online dating site if at the end of eight months if they still had not found boyfriends. As luck would have it Emma had met the man of her dreams during this time but Hannah had not been successful.

Unlike her friend Emma, whom had moved away to Atlanta. Savannah roots were in their hometown. Savannah also remained behind as she owned and ran her own Bakery, a firmly established business in the community making it even harder to leave. Another big reason to remain was she had grown up there raised by her Grandmother after her parents were killed in an auto accident. There was no way she could leave her Grandmother behind. Savannah’s ties to her were too strong to leave.

Embarking on her online dating, Savannah meets more than her fair share of mismatches. Replaying her disastrous dates with her friend, Jack, whose bar she frequents she meets Parker. Parker seems to take pleasure in some good ol’ fashion teasing. The tit for tat remarks between Savannah & Parker are funny but it’s the observing eye of Jack that is going to play matchmaker for these two. Jack suggested to Savannah that maybe she should give Parker a chance.

Now about Parker, he’s a handsome, southern guy! I totally swooned on Parker! New to town and coaching at the local university and he is also unattached…not that Savannah is looking at him as anything other than a pain in the a**. Parker had come to the university to coach after a career ending injury had left him unable to pitch in the majors.

Tempting fate at the bar one night, Parker asked Savannah to dance with him. What an eye opener it was for her!! This guy could dance and his Southern Charm started to work its way into her life. Their romance begins in a whirlwind and everything seems so perfect until one of life’s little unexpected twist throws a curve ball!!

Would their relationship be strong enough to survive this twist?
Is Parker’s magic enough to keep him in Savannah’s heart?

Full review now up on my blog: http://www.thewritinggreyhound.co.uk/...

I wish I could say that I liked Sweet on Wilde more than I did. I didn’t dislike it, but similarly it’s far from joining my ‘favourites’ shelf.

My main problem concerned the plot, or rather the lack of it.

Nothing much happened till way past the middle of the book (and at 283 pages, it was no short story or novella either). It wasn’t even particularly character-led. Basically, the whole plot consisted of just ‘this happens, then that happens’ – there was no real action or conflict.

Having said all that, however, I did like the characters. Both Savannah and Parker were realistic and relatable three dimensional characters – real people, not just fictional characters. To give credit where it’s due, Fabiola Francisco is great at creating lifelike and approachable characters.

As it turned out, I have to wonder if the whole set-up with the online dating business was really necessary. It didn’t really end up adding to the story at all because Savannah could have just met Parker at Southern anyway, without all the online dating set-up. I also found myself questioning why every single person they knew seemed to be supportive of them. Whatever Savannah did, everyone she came into contact with seemed to be proud of her, urging her to follow her dreams. This goes back to my main point – this book needed more conflict. We needed a villain, but there was no-one there. Everything just fell perfectly, unrealistically, into place and all reasoning and logistics flew straight out of the window.

Another thing the author did well was to perfectly capture the feelings of a long-distance relationship. The feelings of loneliness, irrational jealousy, always waiting… they were all there, and used well. Though I have to say, it annoyed me a little because long-distance relationships are never as easy to change as Savannah made them out to be.

Basically, if you want an easy, relaxed, feel-good read (this would be a perfect holiday read for the beach!) this is the book for you. Or if you have a thing for charming Southern guys, then you should definitely read it! But if you want something with a bit more pace, action, and plot, then I’d give it a miss.

*Thank you to the author for providing me with an eARC in exchange for a honest review.

Do you ever just start reading a book and the world literally dissolves and the only thing you see, breathe and on your mind is everything in the book?

EVERYTHING. IS. SO. SWEET. AND. BEAUTIFUL.

I would really love to be able to explore this author’s mind. This is the third novel I’ve read that is written by her and each time, she surpass my expectations and gets even better!

It’s not just her writing, but the way she describes the love between the characters’, their emotions, feelings, thoughts, movements…EVERYTHING!

Sweet on Wilde is one of the sweetest, funniest and at one point, really painful-for-my-heart-and-feels-threatening-to-explode novel I have ever read!
Don’t get me started on Savannah and Parker because…(TOO LATE I’M GOING TO START!)

Savannah is so humorous and seeing Parker’s shy or should I say, unsure moments really got me into fits of laughter!

PARKER IS SO DOWN-TO-EARTH!

Really, it’s the first time I’ve read about a guy who’s charming but isn’t a jerk, ass, dick and extremely sweet like most of the time!

Their banter is my life. Literally. I live for Savannah and Parker’s extremely sweet banter!

EVERYTHING THEY DO IS LITERALLY SO BEAUTIFUL AND IT MAKES ME CRY AT THE LAST QUARTER OF THE BOOK. *ugly wailing*

Fabiola Francisco is definitely my contemporary romance go-to author! Highly recommended not just Sweet on Wilde (THIS IS DEFINITELY A MUST READ!) but also her other novels to everyone!

Savannah and her best friend Emily make a deal, this deal leads to Savannah signing up for on line dating. She arranges to meet these men in her favorite bar. Where her other best friend Jake works. After a disastrous date leaves Savannah goes to the bar too have a drink and vent. Enters Parker Wilde, he's tall ( 6'1) Built and hot. BUT he's also a pain in the ass.
Savannah and Parker have a few chance encounters at Southern ( Jakes Place of employment). They dance, drink and enjoy each other's company. Parker asks Savannah on a date and they really like each other.....
The story that unfolds between them is really sweet and sexy. Parker Wilde is Perfect in every way possible. He makes Savannah feel loved and special. In short he was her perfect match

Parker Wilde, oh where are thee you fine, sexy man!!!

Savannah, I need to have some of those yummy treats you create STAT!

Unlucky in love had its benefits. Savannah, didn't know it but the pinky promise she made set her on the journey of her soulmate!! All of those bad dates eventually paid off. But, our girl didn't see it coming, absolutely love how Parker and Savannah met!!!! You will too.

Here I was drooling over Parker and his hot athletic build and boom, he's such a sweet Southern Gentleman that we fall hard for. He really does have us swooning from the beginning so can you imagine how this love story progresses.

Savannah and Parker are too cute together and oh so hot too!!!

Fabiola, once again delivers a strong story with strong characters. Good luck not falling for Mr. Wilde!

Fabiola's book for me are true romance. She brings every feeling out when it comes to her stories. I cried, laughed and got mad.

Savannah is your typical southern girl that just wants to find love. Since love hasn't come her way she heads to a dating site after deal she made with her best friend. Not finding anything but internet crazies. She finds herself in comfort of her friends bar and Parker to make fun of her dates. Will she ever find that true love? How does her life change?

Parker is a ex baseball player made college coach that has dreams. Like Savannah, Parker is the perfect southern gentleman. Makes her laugh and gives her everything that every women wants. #LeSwoon

There's not one character that you won't like and won't want to read a book of theirs. (Hint Hint Fabiola Francisco)

After Savannah makes a deal with her friend she starts to regret it when time is up.

Deal... be in a relationship within 8 months, or go on a dating site and find someone.

Savannah feels like this is a waste of her time. That is until Parker Wilde shows up in the same bar as her, listening to her vent about her terrible date. Parker takes Savannah for a wild ride, but could this ride be over before too soon. When life throws Parker a deal he can't refuse where will that leave them... and is the love they found with each other enough to make it?

This is a great summer read. It's a very realistic love story with down-to-Earth, believable characters. It's a story that warms the heart and took me back to the beginnings of my own love story with my husband which is currently on it's 19th year. Those first few dates, those butterflies in your stomach, such nice memories. Isn't that the mark of a good book, that readers can relate to it? I think this may be Fabiola's best book to date. Well, Resisting You is also damn good!

Amazing story with the most amusingly written tale of new age dating vs old school country boy charm. The true to life issues and trials and tribulation make the characters so real you can't put it down. You laugh and almost cry but more than anything you cheer for true love!!! Amazing story

Savannah and Parker have a story that is almost fairy tale perfect. The story is deep and character development makes you want to keep reading this story. Parker and Savannah do have struggles like every couple but overcoming it and allowing their love to grow is what is the most important. Amazing story.
