A dragon shifter is forced to reveal his secret identity in order to save a human woman’s life.

The Human Mate
On the evening of our twentieth wedding anniversary, my husband left me.
With no explanation, he walked out the door.
The next day, my only child moved away to start college
At thirty-eight years old, I had nothing left.
I’d lived my life for my son, and my husband.
So I had to start over.
After weeks of therapy, I determined I was better off alone.
I vowed to never date again.
To escape my dull life, I took off on an adventure.
I taught myself to hike, camp, and take photos of nature.
Then I had a run-in with a grizzly bear.
My life flashed before my eyes as I screamed -- I wasn’t ready to die.
But a hunky man saved me.
And he’s so much more than a man.
He’s an amazing dragon shifter who’s lived a very interesting life.
He is the leader of a fierce motorcycle club, and he shares his world with me.
I don’t want to commit -- not to anyone.
But how can I possibly resist this sexy shifter?

The Midlife MC Dragon Shifter
I come from an ancient line of dragons.
We have been granted unnatural long lives, but I’m still single.
And for good reason. My dragon shifter father was an alcoholic
He was a miserable monster who beat my human mother.
When I was finally old enough to protect her, she died.
I learned a lesson -- marriage isn’t worth the risk.
Especially not between a human and a shifter.
So I left the human world behind for good.
I started a motorcycle club for shifters who needed a sanctuary.
More joined our club, from Fae to vampires to witches and wizards.
Our band of misfits travels the country, living a nomadic lifestyle.
During one of my rides, I heard a woman scream.
She was about to be killed by a bear.
I transformed, right in front of her, and saved her from the grizzly.
Now this beautiful human female knows my secret.
So I let her into my world.
She goes on the road with my club, riding on the back of my motorcycle.
But our relationship can’t last.
Because I can’t escape who I am -- I can never be human for her.

Can a dragon shifter committed to a bachelor’s life finally admit that he’s found his one true mate -- even if she’s a human?

Rhett and Emma
I liked this book.
I wasn’t sure going in what to expect. The title really threw me off. “Midlife Dragon”. I just kept picturing and older, slower dragon. That was not the case at all.
Yes, Rhett is “older”. He comes from an ancient line of dragons that seem to live twice as long as other dragons. He is one hundred years old. Middle aged for his line.
He has been very happy with his life. Loves his chosen family. Loves riding his motorcycle, and ultimately loves being in his dragon form. He has no desire to date, or spend more than a couple of nights with any one woman. Growing up with his father taught him that it’s best to keep clear of relationships.
Emma’s life has been turned upside down. Her son is off to college, and her husband left her on their anniversary. So she’s decided to do something outside of her comfort zone. Hiking the Rockies. What she finds makes her life back in Nebraska seem like child’s play.
She is rescued from a bear by a dragon. And surprisingly, she’s ok with that. More curious than frightened.
Rhett is very open with Emma. And she is very accepting of not only him, but his companions as well. But, as comfortable as they are, they both know their time together is limited. Neither are looking for anything long term, or permanent.
This was a relatively drama free story. Emma was very easy going, and open to all of the new beings that she came into contact with. You don’t have that huge break-up, to make-up scenario. There was a lot of push and pull with Emma wanting to stay, but not wanting the commitment of another relationship so soon after her marriage came to an abrupt end.
There was a tiny blip that Emma had to navigate with her son. It was resolved quickly and with lots of help from the Texas dragons. This little blip felt unfinished. Like it was just dropped in to to create drama for the sake of drama. You’re told it’s all good, but you are left wondering what really happened?
There’s also a bit of tension within Rhett’s “family”, that adds another issue that needs resolving.
I really liked both of these characters. I liked that Emma was a bit older (38) than most heroines.
Lots of back and forth, but eventually Emma and Rhett get on the same page, and embrace their relationship. They do find that happy ever after.
An easy, quick read.

Emma has been married for 20 years. So...on her 20th anniversary does she get jewelry? Nope. Does she get an incredible day at the spa followed by a romantic dinner? Nope. Okay, I know, does she get a hot and spicy weekend away with hubby? Big fat nope. She gets a surprise though, her husband tells her he's leaving and walks out. Two days later her son leaves for college. So, here is Emma, husband gone, son in college and she is alone. She does therapy, but she isn't a weak woman. She is more than just someone who takes care of a husband and son. There is no way she'll let that piece of crap she wasted twenty years on knock her down and leave her there. So, she decides to reinvent herself, yep ladies it's time for a do over. Okay, I know, get to the man part of the book. Geesh, impatient much? So she is on a trail getting some nice fresh air, minding her own business, taking pictures when a grizzly appears. And it seems grizzly is in a pissy mood. He charges, she's terrified and then a naked man appears, turns into a dragon and removes Mr. Grizzly away from Emma. When he returns to make sure Emma's okay, she discovers his name is Rhett, he is with a MC and he's led an extremely interesting life. The chemistry is crackling in the air around them so much it starts to sizzle. But they are from two different worlds in more ways than one. Will they be able to become friends or will it develop into more. The answers are right at your fingertips. You just have to grab this book and read it. It's a phenomenal book. I highly recommend this book and this author. And remember, if you want to read a book you can't put down, you have to pick it up first.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book but it was probably my least favourite of the series so far and I’m not 100% sure why, maybe it was because it was way too smooth sailing for Rhett and Emma as there was no real drama like in the previous books. Apart from the small incident with Emma’s son Kevin being arrested for buying dr*gs, which resulted with another students d*ath. It all was a mob set up to try and get her ex-husband back from wherever he’s hiding, as he owes the mob a lot of money for unpaid gambling debts. With the help of Rhett and a PI who happens to be a wolf shifter they collect enough evidence to free Kevin but it felt kind of unfinished as Kevin wasn’t mentioned again, but I suppose that it was basically at the end of the book.

The chemistry between Rhett and Emma was off the charts. On the night of Emma and her husband of 20 years anniversary, Emma’s cooked an awesome dinner for them and their son since he’s heading off to college the next day but the last thing she expects is for her husband to come home and tell her that he’s leaving and give her no explanation. Emma’s shocked and heartbroken but after she’s sent their son off to college she decides to have an extended vacation in the wilderness, camping and hiking different trails. She’s having a great time but that’s until she’s nearly mauled by a grizzly bear. Rhett hears a women scream in terror and runs in and has to transform into his dragon in front of her to save her life and stop the grizzly from mauling her. Emma is shocked but extremely curious about Rhett and him being a dragon shifter.

Rhett is completely honest with Emma about what he is, that he’s a leader of the untamed motorcycle club filled with different supernaturals. Both Emma and Rhett feel an instant connection to each other but tell themselves constantly that they’re just together for a bit of fun as Emma thinks she doesn’t belong in his world and he doesn’t belong her world. Rhett brings Emma into his world but not everyone in his MC/family/clan is happy that he’s brought a human into their club/clan/family/sanctuary. Will Emma and Rhett finally admit it to themselves, as well as too each other that they belong together. I really enjoyed meeting Henrick the half dragon shifter, half wizard and I’m really looking forward to reading his story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

This might be my favorite of the series so far. Rhett showed up to help out Mason & Holly ... and we really didn't have much info on him.

Turns out, he's an extremely old dragon who didn't have a clan growing up. He also had a human mother, who wasn't his father's Mate. His father was also an acholic abuser. So yeah, he had so issues growing up. He found his own sanctuary in a collection of supernatural beings with their own traumas, and forming a motorcycle club/clan.

Emma is blindsided on her 20th wedding anniversary. Her husband walks in and tells her he's leaving ... no explanation or reason. Take the house ... do with it what you want. She decides to rent the house and go hiking in Colorado for a couple of months, to figure out what to do with the rest of her life. She meets Rhett after he saves her from a Grizzly ... in dragon form :)

I absolutely loved this book. Maybe it's the midlife couple. They really aren't focused on having kids ... they just have to overcome issues that come with age. She really didn't want to jump into another relationship ... and he's hung up on adding a human to this clan.

Emma’s life has just changed so suddenly that she doesn’t know how to feel, he husband of 20yrs just up and left without a single word and her son Kelvin has gone off to college so her life she built around her family is gone. So want does a 38yr old do now have a adventure go camping, hiking, traveling and taking pictures and on her trip she is about to be attacked by a grizzly bear but is saved by a man that changes into a dragon. Rhett is in Yosemite national park for Micaela and Thomas wedding and everything was going great until her heard a woman scream and he races to find out what is going on and finds a human woman be attacked by a grizzly bear and not think changes in to his dragon and takes care of the bear and comes back to check on her and to his surprise she is not scared of him or his dragon but is thank full that he saved her life. And that right there starts there journey into a future together, one learning to love again and one learning it’s ok to love. Such a relatable story with past characters showing up made that more entertaining.

True mates at any age

Rhett is a dragon shifter who is from a clan of longer lived dragons. He’s 100 years old and the head of the Untamed motorcycle club that takes in shifters and other supernatural beings that have suffered trauma. Emma is human. Her husband left her without explanation on their 20th wedding anniversary. Since her son was going off to college, she decided to have an adventure. While hiking she is saved from an attacking bear by Rhett who shifts into his dragon to protect her. On the way to their HEA, Rhett and Emma experience sweet moments, strong friendships, steamy moments, dangerous times, a somewhat hostile community, and loving shifter families. There is growth for both the main characters as they let their past and their trauma go in order to trust each other and embrace a new loving relationship and their future together. I love the hope, acceptance, and celebration of everyone that is the underlying theme in all the books in this series. I am looking forward to the next shifter who is welcomed into the fold.

This book had a good storyline and it started of well. Emma has just gotten the worse news her husband is leaving her and her son is going of too college so instead of crying and trying to figure out why she hits the road and spends time in nature she doesn't need a man what she really needs is a protective dragon shifter. Rhett has seen first hand what happens when your a shifter and you marry a human so when he saves Emma there time together was just going to be a short Fling neither one is looking for more. But Rhett's dragon has other ideas and just as things are getting good Emma's ex has caused there son nothing but trouble. Will Emma realize Rhett is more of a man then her ex ever was and there supposed to be mated forever. This was a fast read my only issue was the car what happened too the car so its more like a 3.4 review for me this issue should have been addressed.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

A true HEA

As usual, I jumped into a well established series. I don't regret it at all. I read this on Kindle Unlimited and will definitely start at the beginning and read the rest of the book. It is my understanding that Rhett features in other books of the series. When Emma's son leaves for college, her husband leaves her. She is not as devastated as she expected, and decides to begin her new life by doing an extended hiking and camping trip to try to clarify what she will do with her future.
A few weeks into the trip, she is saved from by bear attack by a dragon named Rhett. Okay it's A fated mates story so their relationship develops quickly and deeply. There is group of his "family" and Emma's son is put in grave danger. Rhett comes to her salvation again.
I thought this was well written and edited. Emma is warm, giving, and supportive. Rhett is strong and thoughtful, generous lover .

After Her husband left her Emma went hiking an was saved from a bear by Rhett.
Emma had spent all day preparing their meal for their twentieth anniversary when her husband comes home and tells he is leaving but she can keep the house. She is left to tell her son who is moving to the University of Nebraska the next day. After much thought she decides to rent rather than sell the house and she takes herself off on a hiking tour. Several weeks later as she is hiking she hears a noise and turning she finds a grizzly bear coming towards her but before it reaches her a man runs towards the bear at speed then changes into a Dragon and carries the bear away. Dragon shifter Rhett hears the terrified scream and takes the bear a distance away then returns to the huddled woman.

This was a really good story that I was able to read in a reasonable short time. It tells of Rhett, a dragon shifter from an ancient race of dragons who we were introduced to in the previous book, Cowboy Dragon’s Single Mother and Emma who is a human, who’s husband decided suddenly that he was leaving her without any explanation. These two characters were quick to fall into lust with each other which lead to hot steamy scenes and eventually developed into love and discovering that they were fated mates. Their journey wasn’t exactly straightforward but they eventually have their own happily ever after.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.

Emma has been married for 20 years and suddenly her husband wants a divorce. She had one son with him who is fully grown and going to college. Instead of moaning and crying about the mess her life has become, she decides to make some personal changes. She decides to go hiking in Colorado and as luck would have it, she runs into a grizzly! Rhett is a dragon shifter who is part of an MC. He is attending a friend’s wedding when he hears Emma scream~ he runs naked to save her, only having to shift in front of her! He also discovers she is his mate! Now, it is time to introduce her to his club and explain to her about mates and her new life. Will she accept the MC and his shifter abilities? Will she agree to be his mate?

2.5 ⭐✨ Second Chances.

I could relate to Emma. Being 38, married 20 years and then on your anniversary the hubby says, "I'm leaving!". Emma's son had just started college and now she has to figure out what's next for her besides all the emotional loss.
All the shifters really didn't add or detract from the story. The blip in Ireland was just that. This story primarily takes place in the Western part of the USA. It was awesome that Rhett saves Emma from a bear and she isn't the slightest wigged out. I want my own dragon!
Overall quality of writing was good. There were some glitches in proofreading, a few steamy intimacy scenes, but no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ever after. Enjoy 🤓

2nd Chance Love

Well written second chance love story that proves life really does begin at 40 and the foolish mistakes we make in our twenties are just that ; mistakes. This is a story for all of us women who have to start over in our late 30’s , early 40’s ; not because we want to, because we have to, due to the chosen males in our lives not being “aloha” enough to love us, adore us and to keep their vows of fidelity. To bad we can’t find our own dragon shifter !! 5⭐️’s . There are several misspelled words in here, so if you’re the grammar police please be aware that they are in here and judge the story accordingly.

From a stale marriage to an exciting love.

I really enjoyed the characters and that they were a little older. I have read so many lately where the heroine is in her early to mid twenties and this was a welcomed change. Emma is going through the breakup of her twenty year marriage. She decides to take charge of her life and have a real adventure while hiking. It is then that she meets her dragon shifter, a sexy, considerate gentleman and you just can’t help root for their HEA. I do recommend this book 💛

As always, your books are the best. I couldn't wait to start this one and like always I read a lot and before I know it I'm finished. This storyline was amazing and I hope you keep writing about the different characters because it's fun & exciting to see how things work out for them. The two main characters in this book just couldn't believe their luck in finding each other and not sure it would work out. But as always you came through with a terrific and fun ending. Look forward to next book!

I like the plot of the book it’s amazing but there are plot holes and characters that just seems to disappear after a scene like the LF son is in and out of scenes when he should be playing a good role because there isn’t a child that won’t call their now single mom when she traveling alone or just disappear after their other parent sets them up for a crime. I don’t think this book is as good as it could have been. There’s a lot this book doesn’t give but i do believe that it has extreme potential because besides the plot holes there wasn’t any problems.

Lots of heat, heroes that are around their forties, that was a nice touch. Maybe this story is part of a collection because I feel like I am missing something. Emma and Rhett are wonderful, but lots of questions remain unanswered, like what happened to Emma’s ex-husband? How do the Untamed earn a living? What do Emma and Rhett look like? What brought every member to the Untamed? I felt like everything besides Emma and Rhett’s relationship has been barely assessed. A pity, really, because there’s really lots of underdeveloped situations, hence the three star review.

Ones Journey!!!

This book was awsome. I enjoyed it very much. The story was an eye opener of how ones ending in a divorce is not the end, but the beginning of a journey to find herself. Of ones ability to see the potential one has to move forward and live again, especially when the marriage was a rocky one and when a women is a mother, wife and caretaker at the same time. Being a mother will never end, but being a wife sometimes does. So, to all the divorced women, be brave and courageous and live again.

There is the drama and angst of others who try to split them apart. But in the end who will be willing to love?

Life changes

Rhett is an old dragon who hasn't found his mate yet. Emma is on the higher side of 40 and she's just been ditched by her husband of 20 years. Emma decides she needs an adventure before figuring out what to do with the rest of her life. Meeting Rhett is an adventure that leads her into a world she never knew existed. Can they both be honest with themselves and each other and open their hearts?
I love how Emma views the world and how her previous life experiences help her to handle everything thrown at her.

Another entertaining story to the series. The author brings strong characters in Rhett and Emma as well as bringing past characters to see how they're doing. She brings a sweet romance and moves the story fluidly with her descriptive writing and vividly painted scenes. I loved reading their story and would recommend this book.

Emma plans to head out on a cruise with her husband now that their son is starting college. Her husband comes home to tell her he's leaving. Thus starts her new life where she meets secy and handsome dragon shifter, Rhett. He amazes her and he doesn't believe he's met his mate. Time shows the both of them it's time for a new start on their lives.

I enjoyed this read.

Unique due to older characters

To meet a dragon shifter while out camping and being attacked by a bear is very such five. Emma was to go on a cruise for her 20 th wedding anniversary only to be told that her husband was leaving her and their son was going to college the next day. Emma is a beautiful human and totally in love with her alpha dragon shifter and his motorcycle club of special people. Adult readers due to sexual content.

Sometimes I think the author doesn’t remember things from the other books. Especially, about mates and other things that are important to the story. The story by itself is written well and the plot is very good. Because the author has written other books in this world that she has created, this story did not follow the same rules. I think the heroine is a little flaky but that is expected considering her past. The hero shouldn’t be a flake, but what kind of Alpha is so indecisive?

A good read, with lots of story, I loved the characters and the whole vibe that Emma had, had me invested in her journey. Rhett was also a cool character. I think the only detractors I had with this book were the extensive use of the inner monologues. I'll admit the I skimmed those parts, but outside of that, Emma's adventures in finding herself were pretty amazing. It's a good addition to the series.

Brilliant Series

Midlife Dragon’s Mate (Irish Dragon Shifter Brothers Book 12) by Brittany White. With no explanation Emma’s husband walks out on her. After she pulls herself together Emma goes on a hiking holiday only to come across a bear and she is saved by a man who becomes a dragon. Dragon shifter Rhett takes her to his family, a group of shifters, witches and fae motorcycle riders who eventually accept her when she becomes Rhett’s mate.

This story is well written and intriguing. Rhett and Emma have a palpable chemistry. Rhett it’s from an ancient race of dragon shifters and Emma is just a human whose husband left her with no explanation. When Rhett rescues Emma he opens his life to her taking her on the road with him. They are both scared to commit, will they get their HEA?

Super!

Who knew that a midlife romance could be so sexy steamy and real? Rhett and Emma are just incredible together. She's introduced to his dragon at their first meet up. Rhett is an amazing man the likes of which Emma has never encountered. Their highway to true love is the stuff dreams are made of.
