Rorik is known as the Dark Seducer. He uses his charm to get women to reveal dark secrets, all in the name of his king. Seer Ragna knows this all too well, yet her heart yearns for him. Betrayal and heartache are sure to be Ragna’s lifetime companions, so she keeps her distance, only speaking to Rorik when absolutely necessary. But when a deadly vision plagues her, she knows she must cross the North Sea into Scotland and give her warning to Rorik. She enlists the help of Magnar in case Rorik won’t listen. She loves him dearly and would risk his wrath than lose him to death. What happens next surprises them both. They must learn to trust in Rorik’s wolf or they will both perish. Can Ragna succeed in preventing Rorik’s death and securing his love or will she be too late?

Rorik is book two in Mary Morgan’s award-winning series and I truly loved reading it. Rorik’s and Ragna’s combative natures make for explosive passion when they get together. The sparring between these two had me whipping through the pages. But there’s more to this couple than meets the eye. There’s deep hurt, not to mention fears to work through. Mary Morgan writes so eloquently, the reader is whisked away and becomes a part of the story. Rorik is the Vikings version of a playboy spy and his bad-boy ways are definitely swoon-worthy. Ragna is the honest ‘tell it like it is’ heroine who sees beyond the bad boy persona. The romance is enemies-to-lovers with a few twists I didn’t see coming. A beautifully written Viking paranormal romance, Rorik is a must-read this summer. Highly recommend!

Step back into the wonderful world of Mary Morgan with the creation of another mesmerizing tale, full of magic, paranormal and unforgettable characters!

Rorik, better known as the Dark Seducer, and Ragna, a seer have met before and now they will meet again with Ragna needing to warn Rorik of the danger he is in.

She enlists the help of Magnar (oh yes!) but it seemed she was on her own to get him to shift to his wolf which would save his life.

A wonderful journey to a happy ever after, hard one but worth the trip!

Rorik
The Wolves of Clan Sutherland #2
Mary Morgan
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rorik is also known as The Dark Seducer throughout Scotland and he has earned that name because he can charm any woman into his bed. He does this while obtaining information for his king. But Rorik MacNeil has a secret, one that he burries under a heart that seems cold. There is an unfulfilled conquest that plagues both parts of him. Man and wolf. Even though Rorik is as brave as any of his clan he would rather suffer death then confront his greatest fear.

Ragna Maddadsson is the seer for the Orkneyjar Isles and will confront an unknown destiny when she travels across the North Sea to Scotland. She has had a powerful vision that she must deliver however she fears the warrior will not listen. If Rorik doesn't heed her warning, Ragna will have to find a way to forestall his impending death. If she is unsuccessful, she will have her heart split in two because she is in love with him.

Now to unravel both of their fates they must both trust in the power of the wolf.

Mary Morgan has astounded me once again. What a fantastic book. We first met Rorik and Ragna in the first book and you could tell that there was something they both felt, but wouldn't give into. I was so happy to see these too special characters get their happy ever after. I also really enjoyed seeing the other characters from the first book. In my opinion I would advise everyone to read this book because it will make you smile. Ms. Morgan once again you have hit the ball out of the park. It doesn't get better then this.

This second book in The Wolves of Clan Sutherland series was absolutely enthralling. The excitement began right from the beginning of the book and never let up until the end. It was pure entertainment throughout and had me riveted until I was finished! Rorik and Ragna had a love/hate relationship that just melted my heart and made me fall in love with each of them. At one point in the story I wanted to reach in and gather Rorik in my arms and comfort him for what his father did to him and strangle his father at the same time. Ragna was definitely the right mate for him. This is a story of love and redemption. Mary Morgan never disappoints. This was another amazing story, which I do not hesitate to recommend. Thank you Ms Morgan for giving me the opportunity to read another one of your extraordinary stories.

Can Ragna Maddadsson, a seer, save Rorik the Dark Seducer from himself and for herself?
Her quest to do exactly that meets with a few difficulties and betrayals where you least expect them. Will love conquer all? You’ll have to grab a copy and find out. Which I highly recommend you do. No spoilers here.
What I loved about the book was the rich descriptions of the scenes and the bounce off the page characterizations. I love the feeling of being right there in the moment with the characters. Smell, see and feel their emotions and surroundings. The author does this very well. Though he was the Dark Seducer, his humoristic view of situations drew several giggles and head shakes from me. Where as Ragna’s frustration with him drew compassion from this reader.
Over all, Rorik was an entertaining and curl up in front of the fire read. Exactly what I expected from award winning author Mary Morgan. Way to go girl!

Rorik, the man and wolf, are keepers! A wonderful and entertaining book about the mixture of Norse and Scottish heritage. Since that's my heritage, what's not to like? Actually, the book was well written with drama, a wee bit of comedy, suspense and of course romance. I look forward to the rest of the wolves' stories.

Mary Morgan weaves another brilliant story for us to enjoy! I loved the first book in the series, Magnar, but I think I loved this one even more. These warriors/wolves are the types of heroes we all wish we had:)

Rorik and Ragna's story is filled with danger, magic, and a love that will make your heart beat that much faster! From enemies to lovers, this couple go through so much to reach their HEA, sometimes it seems like it will never happen. For the future to happen, the past must be forgiven and forgotten but sometimes that is easier said than done.

Very well written and I now look forward to the next book in the series!!

Rorik MacNeil's charm swept me away when he stepped forth in the first book, MAGNAR, The Wolves of Clan Sutherland. He emerged as a tall, dark, and sinfully sexy alpha male. I swooned each time the man entered a scene. A character who was definitely a wolfish rake. And whenever Ragna entered the scene, the angst between them sizzled up the pages. Two characters whose feelings of hatred to each other were merely a façade for their true inner desires and wants.

So, how do I write this persona of a hero? With the Dark Seducer, I contemplated how to redeem Rorik. In truth, did he need redemption? Aye! His tortured soul demanded rescue, and I found myself peeling back the layers in a quest for the truth about the man.

Once again, I have woven King William The Lion of Scotland into this story. I've always been fascinated with this king, and he will continue to be a central part in the series.

WOW! I was really excited for this book after I read Magnar, which is the first book in this serious, ….and well I was not disappointed, this book delivered. I am typically not into any type of paranormal but this was hard core historical romance with some shades of paranormal!! Ha ha
Anyway love the book. Great series. Plot 7.5(1-10) steaminess 7(1-10).

Definitely recommend both books!

There are two forces bestowed on us through the magic of this author’s pen—her world building and fabulous, flawed, yet inspiring protagonists.

With each book in a series, I fall in love all over again with the world she builds. She gripped me as I read The Order of the Dragon Knights Series, followed on its heels, Legend of the Fenian Warriors. I hate to see her series end. In my mind they linger, and I hope Mary Morgan will again be inspired to continue these series.

Her third series, The Wolves of Clan Sutherland takes on Norse and Picts mythology, and equally captivating.

Rorik, book two of this new series, captures my imagination. Morgan’s sensuous love scenes are appropriately written, using terminology of old. The reader feels the love Rorik and Ragna have in their hearts.

With detailed descriptive scenes, her choice of words embeds scenes and their surrounds in my mind. I can even smell and feel the land beneath my feet. I am a shadow within the scene, privy to one thought or another.

Her main characters are many faceted. Rorik deals with deep emotional conflicts, bordering on psychological imbalance, brought on by a despicable father, and a complex personality, developed by how he reacts to his past and consequently, how he must play his part cast by his commander, the King of Scotland. He is forced to make love, but never to be in love. Rorik is a wild card in this story because his inner angst is changing the relationship between man and beast. Will he, the man, stay in control of the wolf who dwells within?

Ragna protects her heart from Rorik’s deed of accepting a wager to take her to bed, something her loving and giving heart was ready to do. Once knowing of the wager, even though he didn’t go through with it, she vowed never to let that man into her heart. Rorik hears her barbed tongue when she speaks to him. He tries to avoid seeing her, but destiny will have its way to complete the story she must tell.

Ragna not only was a Seer, but she has other magic and talents which the author slowly unfolds with the telling. I believe Ragna will be active through the series because of her relationship to the Wolves themselves. She may have magic on her side, but she must learn that life is more than magic. She must learn that life is magic when shared with the person who completes her.

If you enjoy reading stories with strong women protagonists, and bold alpha men with honor and passion directing their paths, then you must stalk the category Medieval Historical Romance/Paranomal Romance/Fantasy, locating Mary Morgan’s magical world building.

Book three. Bring it on!

I always look forward to a new book written by Mary Morgan because I know I will read a well thought out story that transports me to another time and another place. The characters will be intriguing if not always endearing but human with their weakness and their strengths. In the case of Rorik the second book in The Wolves of Clan Sutherland this was especially true. I did not care for the Dark Seducer at first but as his backstory is revealed, came to care for this man and the wolf inside understanding how what he showed the world was not always how he wanted to be.

As for Ragna Maddadsson, the Seer for the Orkneyjar Isles, her path in life was not an easy journey either. I liked this strong compassionate woman from the beginning. Also I was thrilled that the second book was their story since they had verbally sparred in the first book. I knew that there was much more to their story which I was eager to discover. It was all I had hoped for with a picture perfect setting, intrigue, political overtones, emotional turmoil, brotherhood, and a cast of characters that round out the story beautifully. As always it is a swoon worthy romance that shows while love may not be easy to maintain it is certainly worth the effort.

The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mary Morgan's stories are candy to me. Her vivid imagination combining Nordic, Scottish and touches of paranormal romance into stories is so delightful. These are the shifter wolves loyal to the Scottish King William and their Nordic gods. It is also a second chance story of a sort & I adore second chance romance. I can't wait for the next story to come which is probably Steinar's the Pirate Wolf.

Rorik MacNeil, the Dark Seducer of the Wolves of Clan Sutherland was forced into his womanizing ways by his evil & selfish father. He had no choice of how he would gather information for King William. His mate is Ragna Maddadsson, the Sear Orkneyhar Isles. He will deny his love because of his role within the Wolves not being able to be loyal to his mate. His father pushed a wager on Rorik as a young man about Ragna that damaged their potential relationship. That caused them avoid each other whenever possible. When Ragna has a vision about Rorik's death she travels to Scotland from the Isles to warn him. She had to override her fear of traveling over the North Sea. He ignores her advice until it's almost too late. This starts the path of them discovering what life truly holds for them and how they can together fulfill their roles.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mary Morgan, author of Magnar, the first book in the Wolves of Clan Sutherland series, the Dragon Knight’s series, and several awesome time travel novels has triumphed once again with her latest hero and heroine. I met them both in Magnar’s tale of love and became enchanted with them while reading this book. Ragna is courageous, determined, and compassionate. Excellent qualities for a heroine. To top it off, she is also a Seer—one that will do anything to save the wolf she loves. And of course, anyone who reads Ms. Morgan’s books will know that her heroes are always tortured, distrustful, and angry. Dare I also say Rorik denies the fact he is in love with Ragna. The slash and dice of their words gives one a feeling of being right there with them. I felt privy to the aches, pains, and the total desperation Ragna and Rorik feel at loving one another but committed to other causes and unable to obtain the one true soul that will absolutely rock their world.

The addition of characters like Magnar, Elspeth, and Steiner gave me the feeling of seeing old friends. This is not just a book about romance, but a journey of emotions that will make you laugh, cry, and want more. The battle lines between two kings are drawn and the results place Rorik and Ragna in jeopardy as old wounds, lost battles, and deep betrayal force the Seer and the wolf to examine their hearts, and to find a way to survive the bloody and deadly visions on their horizon.

I feel like I need to read the first book of the series to understand a little more of what was going on. I understood enough of the story, but there was a past between the main characters that are mentioned and hinted at.
Ragna is a Seer and wise woman who has had a vision about the death of a warrior wolf, apparently the antagonist in the first book and hero in this one. She crosses the northern sea to find the warrior wolf and finds him at Steiner Castle. At first, he refuses to acknowledge that there might be a possibility that he is suffering, and like every good male alpha, completely disregards the warnings and goes on to his next mission/match. He is injured and is soon fading into the other world, but Ragna refuses to let him go. With her help and that of the wolf, he is restored to health where he confesses his love for her and becomes a mate. Aside from the main storyline, there is a second one filled with intrigue and action... close to the end, Ragna is taken by the enemy, and Rorik and the other wolf of Clan Sutherland come to the rescue and dispose of the threat. I think there is a hint of the following book that will feature the Pirate Wolf.
Overall 4 stars, I thought the story was stretched a little and rushed at the end.

She’s done it again! Master storyteller Mary Morgan has woven history, magic, and very human emotions into an unforgettable and poignant romance. Rorik transports readers back to the ancient lands of Orkneyjar and the Scottish Highlands, during the reign of King William the Lion of Scotland. Reading the story feels like a sublime form of time travel. The author is not only thorough in her research; she has visited the beautiful, mystical places she describes.

Rorik and Ragna are among the most compelling characters I have ever read – ever. He is intense, beautiful, tortured. She is simply magnificent.

This couple has a history, and they fight hard against their feelings for each other. But their hearts – and his wolf -- won’t be denied. The love scenes are passionate, beautiful, and deliciously sweet.
Love this couple.

I love the story, too. There’s lots of action, tension, and satisfaction.

It’s a boon and delight to catch up with Magnar and Elspeth. They are still their strong selves and more in love than ever. There is nothing soft or sweet about Magnar except when it comes to Elspeth. He does something for her – I won’t say what – that is so dear, so meaningful.

It’s also great to be reacquainted with some of the other fascinating characters from Magnar.

I am enthralled by The Wolves of Clan Sutherland and already waiting eagerly for the next book in this spectacular series.

Hats off, Mary Morgan. Five stars!

What to say…
I thoroughly enjoyed this story so much, the dark seducer Rorik.
This is a sexy, seducing story of two people who you think hate each other, and slowly, the seducer slowly chips away the ice around his heart to give himself a chance at real love. But was it not always there and just stuffed away like a onion?
Ragna, a seer, a force to be beckon with, the protector of her heart and her wolf.
Who will win this round, will it it be Rorik, who has blocked all emotion from his heart and soul or will be Ragna, who had shut down any all emotion from this man wolf.
Such a mystery of emotional surrounds them as she protects her wolf.
Who will will save the day and save their souls will be Rorik, or Ragna?
Very well written and Mary I thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this awesome story.
I love it.

Rorik and Ragna

Another jewel of the past by Mary Morgan. Although not normally a historical fan, the author and her characters of Scotland and surrounding countries now known as the UK have captured me.

He could easily be the most disliked man because of his bidding by the king. Yet, The Dark Charmer
is perfect for him and his duties of charming information from the women he pleasures. Most men would consider it a good job to have. It might be if he didn't feel for a woman who hates him because of it.

Or does she? She wants to. Still, she has her own duties that bring them together more often than either want. Can they resist their feeling by the curses they fling at each other? Maybe until his wolf within forces them together or it will end in dire results.

Battles, lots of steam, intrigue, great characters, and you have a wonderful story not to miss.

Rorik and Ragna's story is a page turner! The Wolves of Sutherland's Series has been awesome so far.

Here we have Rorik who does his duty successfully for his King in the most "seducing" ways. He fears only one woman... who his wolf does not.

Ragna the seer received a vision that she definitely cannot ignore, Even though it involves the one warrior who makes her heart tremble. She undertakes a journey overseas that terrifies her, but she must warn this warrior in order to save his life. If by chance he doesn't listen, she may lose her heart in the process.

Definitely a keeper... is this story. I was gifted with the story by a friend and I am so grateful. It is an amazing story.

This is the second book in the Clan Sutherland series. I greatly enjoyed to story of Ragna Maddadsson, the seer of the Orkney Isles and Rorik. Ragna leaves the isles to bring a message to Rorik that she believes is life or death. The chemistry between these two is combustible. They have excellent dialogue, which includes a lot of them snipping at each other.

The author did an excellent job creating the setting and bringing the time period to life. I greatly enjoyed the dialogue and the well written and suspenseful story. I am an avid traveler and Scotland is one of my very favorite places. This story has moved the Orkney Isles to the top of my list. I would highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy the books of Patricia Rice and Donna Fletcher.

I was provided an ARC of this book through NetGalley for an honest review.

Wolf shifter Rorik MacNeil is known as the Dark Seducer because he uses his "talents" to charm secrets from women for the King.  Unfortunately this is not such an easy task as many would think.  His wolf has his own ideas and is making his disapproval known.  This could be fatal for them.

Ragnar Maddadsson is a seer on the isles of Orkneyjar.  A powerful vision forces her to cross the sea to save a man she swore to stay away from.

This paranormal/historical romance is filled with magic and danger for our fabulous characters. Both of them are dedicated to the work they do and the people they serve. The old ways of Gods and Goddesses bring lots of excitement to this great story.

This is the second book of the series,  and while you can read this on it's own, if you are going to read the series I suggest you read them in order to avoid spoilers.

Magical fun.

Never really having a kind word for each other, it comes as a surprise to everyone when Rorik and Ragna finally admit their love for each other. They always knew their feelings for the other but refused to admit it to anyone or even to themselves. Danger seems to surround several individuals in this story but the greatest danger is focused on Ragna. There are surprises along the way that adds to the story. It also has several strong characters who stand out and make their presence known. It is well written and very entertaining which makes it a story worth reading.

What a great fantasy read! I really enjoyed watching the slow smoulder between Ragna and Rorik blended in with the quest for information demanded by the King. Although I have not read read the previous novel in the series, I was easily able to follow most of the things that happened before. Wolf shifters, warriors, seers and a plot to uncover while evil is nearby kept me sucked into the story right to the end.

Loved this story! Rorik is my new favourite hero! This wolf/man is a heartbreaker. And Ragna holds her own with a strong stand. If two characters were more perfectly matched it would be Rorik and Ragna. Their chemistry steams off the pages. The plot was captivating and engaging. I didn’t want the story to end. With a great cast and a beautiful setting, this historical, paranormal book is a must read. I anxiously await the next book in The Wolves of Clan Sutherland. Reviewed for Still Moments Magazine.
