A thrilling and emotional dark romance, set in a dystopian esque world. A world so eerily similar to our own, it will make you wonder... could it happen?

It started with a law to punish those who had babies outside of wedlock. It was just supposed to be an orphanage, and yet it became a divide.

It became The Beneath.

The Beneath; the world behind the wall. The world where the orphans are sent, a world where you live by the rule of The Council, and a world you can never leave.

Eve and Adam are unique. The only orphans that are full blood siblings, and to Eve; there is nothing more important than keeping the brother she would give everything for, safe.

Noah Joyson is a fourth generation Founding Family Trueborn. He's part of the ruling class, and he's untouchable to everyone, except Eve.

Their love awakens something in them both. It's passionate, it's all consuming, it's dark and it's forbidden.

When Noah's family discover their secret, they intervene and tear them apart, causing Noah to spiral into a reign of violence.

Drastic action is taken to regain control, and Eve is asked to do the unthinkable; the unbearable.

Desperate to keep those she loves safe; the line is drawn and the deal is made.

Only time will tell if the deal is kept.

**Book one in a three-part series. Must be read in order. Ends on a cliffhanger.**

Roxanna C. Revell

Roxanna C Revell is a British indie author of a mixed bag of books. She writes the stories that come to her: romance, dark romance, thriller, dystopian, crime families – you name it! Regardless of the genre or focus, you can guarantee twists, steam, and all the feels.

Originally from Nottingham, she enjoyed drinking way too much with colleagues in London before getting married, pregnant, and moving to the Bedfordshire countryside.

Whilst on maternity leave, she decided to answer that nagging question: does she have what it takes to write a book? The answer to that question is her debut, Because of Hattie.

Now well and truly committed to sharing the stories in her head with the world (‘world’ might be a bit ambitious), she writes when she’s not at work, chasing her two Wildlings, and not too wiped out to focus.

Her books contain bad language, kink, and triggers, and will always be 18+.

"If I tell you the truth... I lose you." "No. Telling me the truth is the only way you stand a chance of keeping me.""

Lovers of dystopian romance and dark, gritty matches made in Heaven: do not, I repeat, do NOT, miss out on "The Beneath"! Roxanna's sophomore novels introduces us to a world divided by a wall into two very different places: The Other Side, where extramarital sex is severely punished by the law, and The Beneath, where the illegitimate children of said affairs are cast off as soon as they're born. The severity of this measure would make anyone think twice before making the same mistake again; yet Eve and Adam Matthews are full-blood siblings, the only ones The Beneath has ever fostered. As Adam's older sister, Eve has always made protecting him his #1 priority, and loved him infinitely more than she'll ever love anyone else... Or so she thinks, until her path crosses with that of Noah Joyson.

Son to one of the Founding Families that run The Beneath, Noah is untouchable, and could have anything anyone he wants. But, for whatever unfathomable reason, he wants Eve. What starts as a forbidden relationship fueled by passion, mad love, and secrecy soon enough turns into a deadly game; for the Joysons aren't happy to hear that their son has fallen in love with an orphan they hadn't planned for. Soon enough, Eve finds herself having to dance to the Founding Families' rhythm if she wants to keep her brother safe. But nothing in The Beneath is quite as it seems, and it's not long before there's no coming back from the dark corners to which her love for Noah leads her.
"I was encouraged not only to be myself, but to find myself."

Wow. Okay. How on Earth am I supposed to review this, and not just type a lot of uppercase sequences of letters peppered with crying emojis and purple hearts!? Let me start warning you of something: this isn't an easy read, and if you go into the book feeling perfectly happy about everything, you're missing on the real deal. Noah and Eve don't have, not by far, a perfect love. There are elements in it that are supposed to make you uncomfortable. There are things that should make you angry. Eve's story is that of a very young girl in love, true, but also that of someone who didn't have a family to teach her what is and what isn't okay in a relationship. If you're like me and pick TB up, you may feel uncomfortable with some interactions.

That's good. Because Eve's story is also the tale of many, many young and not-so-young women nowadays. One of the things that made me love TB was precisely that: Roxanna doesn't shy away from depicting dysfunctional dynamics, and showing them for what they are. Eve doesn't know any better, but then again, so do many people in her same situation. She has to learn on the go, and as the story progresses, and she starts to realise that what's going on is so much bigger than just Noah and her, she starts to open her eyes. I'm truly taking my hat off: Roxanna's character development skills left me absolutely speechless. Many people loved Noah from the start, and adored the relationship he and Eve had. Not me. I wasn't a Noah Joyson fan at all; and yet, I found myself growing fond of him as the story unfolded. Personally, I think that speaks volumes about just how mind-blowingly well done the characters' arcs are.
"Noah didn't just have a temper; he had the skills to back it up."

Even though I more often than not find it hard to like female main characters who are supposed to be strong, but are not well-built and thus end up being annoying, I absolutely adored Eve Matthews. She starts a clueless orphan, and grows into an incredible queen. There were several moments in which you could clearly see just how far she's come, how tired she's grown of playing the role everyone expects her to, and I honestly can't remember them without proudly smiling! She may be one of the strongest FMCs I've read in a long time: sweet and kind, yet resourceful and super done with everyone's shit. By this point, I'm 45% human, and 55% Eve Matthews stan.

Roxanna has crafted a really immersive novel. The world of The Beneath is so vivid in her prose, you can smell the Dome's patchouli, feel the cobblestones beneath your feat, and picture the convent in which she and Adam were raised by kickass nuns such as Sister Teresa. (She's, together with Eve and Rose, my favourite character by FAR. Me!? Having an all-female selection of favourites!?!? WHAT) Even though the book starts with a little bit of info-dumping about The Beneath, soon enough the reader gets to see everything they've been told through Eve's eyes, and Roxanna's quill. The story flowed easily, the plot addictive and the twists breathtaking, and after surpassing the 23% mark, I simply couldn't put it down. I mean... I could... But it made me grumpy!

All in all, "The Beneath" was an amazing read I've really enjoyed, one that left me thinking every time I stopped reading, and sucked me in every time I picked it up to read on. Where's book 2!? Where!?!?

I was first introduced to Roxanna C Revell's writing through her first book 'Because Of Hattie' last year and it was simply beautiful. And when I came to know that her second book was coming up, I knew I had to read it. This book kept me intrigued from the starting and I found myself completely immersed in the story. When I first read the synopsis, I wanted to know what was going to happen next and as I kept reading, my excitement level rose to a level where I wanted to finish it quickly to know the end. That's the beauty of a book. I loved this one, same as her previous book. It was an engrossing and fascinating read for me.

This book made me utterly speechless!!! I could not put it down!

I absolutely loved how different this book is to any other book that I have read before. I love how there is a divide between The Beneath where orphans are sent and the world beyond the wall where life is so different.

I love Noah and Eve. Noah is a dark, sexy and controlling trueborn who wants everything his way, until he meets Eve. The darkness becomes controlled but Eve is caught is the crossfire of a Family problem which she has no choice but to choose. Noah or her brother. Which will she choose?

This book has some sexy scenes which makes it even harder to put down.

I cannot wait to read book 2!

Where do I even start with this review? Simply put, I am blown away. Roxanna takes the reader into a dystopian-esque world where having children out of wedlock is forbidden. These illegal children are then shuttled off to an orphanage behind a large wall, to a community known by its members as The Beneath. It's here where Eve is raised with her full-blood sibling, Adam -- a rarity in a world of "unwanted" children.

Eve is one hell of a character. She is strong without being abrasive, compassionate, and extremely likable. Admittedly I get a little snarky when all of the men in a book continuously drool over the main female. But, in Eve's case, I feel like it was deserved. Yes, she was beautiful, but her personality really did make her stand out. Even when she made decisions that had me absolutely screaming at the book, it was completely understandable. She was put in some awful situations and she handled it with grace and maturity.

Noah, as Eve's love interest, was another amazing character. I have a soft spot for the broken ones, and even though Noah comes from one of the upper-class/powerful families in The Beneath, he is as broken as they come. He needs Eve like he needs oxygen. He fights for her -- literally and figuratively -- throughout the book. His biggest downfall, perhaps, is not being 100% honest, but he had valid reasons. He, too, is put in some absolutely miserable situations and he tries his best to deal with it, but nothing is easy in The Beneath.

I could probably go on and on about the cast of characters. They were all so *real*! Even the evil ones. My favorite secondary character was hands down Eve's brother Adam. He is so funny. I loved him at every age we saw him at -- whether it was as a spunky pre-teen, or a smart ass adult. He was the goofy complement to Eve's motherly nature and I loved every bit of it.

I was fortunate enough to read this as an ARC and I cannot WAIT for the rest of the world to have the pleasure as well. I can't tell you the last time I literally cried over a book, or read SO FAST that my heart was racing. Once I got to the halfway point I could.not.stop! I *had* to know how it was all going to play out and now I'm chomping at the bit for Book 2!

Do yourself a favor, and read this. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll be bloody pissed. But it'll be worth it in the end.

Good lord I have been waiting so long to shout about this freaking book!

I first came across Roxanna when I read her first book Because of Hattie and I FLOVED it so much! I was estatic when she reached out and asked if I wanted to read her new book.

Now this book. God damn this book is so different from anything I've read and honestly when I started it I really didn't think it was going to be for me but then it hooked me in deep.

Eve lives to protect her biological sibling Adam which where they are from is completely unheard of. Noah is a true born, the son of one of the founding families and therefore way out of Eves league but that is irrelevant when he sets eyes on her for the first time.

He chooses her and no matter what obstacles they come across he is determined to keep her by his side.

They're relationship is dramatic, tense, fiery and completely wild. Noah has a darkness in him that only Eve can diminish but with so many odds against them it's hard to see if they will make it.

Honestly it was a roller-coaster of emotions. I laughed. I cried. I yelled. I cursed. It's dark and edgy and so well written that you are captivated instantly and screaming for more.

There were multiple time jumps throughout the book and they were done extremely well considering its not something I'm usually a big fan of. They were effortless and worked perfectly within the story. This book will have you feeling everything and more and leave you reeling when you get to the end.

If you want a story that is different, characters that are flawed but perfect and a wild ride of a story then this is the book for you. 10/10 recommend 🖤

What's better than a great book, you ask? A great book that is the first in a series!

Oh boy did I love this book! At times I laughed, at times I cried, this book is an emotional rollercoaster of the best kinds!

* * *

The Beneath is "the world behind the wall" controlled by The Council where children born out of wedlock are sent to grow up and live their lives.

Eve is one of these children, she is, however, in a unique situation. Her parents, making the same mistake twice, gave her a brother, Adam. Eve's world revolves around protecting her little brother until one day she meets Noah. Noah is a trueborn, a member of the founding families who run The Beneath. The two soon fall in love despite his family's objections. What they fail to realise is just how far The Council is willing to go to have their own way.

* * *

I absolutely loved this book! It truly has everything you need in a great read: love, action, secrets, drama, suspense, fun, steamy sex scenes, you name it! Hand on heart, I can't remember the last time a book made me cry as well as laugh out loud. I loved and hated the characters, at times I was angry with them, other times I just wanted to give them a hug, Revell's writing sucked me into the story early on.

I feel incredibly lucky that I had the opportunity to read this before its release date. Huge thanks to the author for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Behind the wall lies a world different to The Other Side – a world of orphans, cast off from their parents for being an illegitimate product of extramarital sex. The laws separated them in more ways than an orphanage, it caused a complete divide and those living behind the wall call their side The Beneath. Blood siblings is a very unique thing to find in The Beneath as surely a couple would learn from their mistake. However, that is not the case with Eve and Adam Matthews’ parents. They are the only full blood siblings, therefore protection over Adam is Eve’s priority.

The Founding Family help govern and function The Beneath, creating a society of their own and creating their own rules. Noah Joyson is the son of one of the Founding Families and therefore he is untouchable. Not just because of his Trueborn status but he has earned that fear. Until he meets Eve. Their forbidden love is intense and dark. When the Joysons find out they stop at nothing to try and maintain control in their society and their family.

The Beneath is the first instalment in the Behind The Wall series and what an opening it is. The way Revell creates this dystopian world is formidable. It is fictional yet it feels so real and relatable. I could clearly picture The Beneath in my head as I was reading it, juxtaposed to The Other Side. The difference between the two are outstanding and Revell fully captures that, with The Other Side being an aspirational place for some and The Beneath being disregarded. However, those in The Beneath truly create a fascinating world of their own. It is clear that a lot of effort has gone in to creating the story as no element is forgotten. It is easy to follow and remember throughout the story. Each aspect is explored in great detail and in an important way to aid the plot. The reader will get to know the full governing system in The Beneath and learn who is responsible for what. It may feel like there is a lot but the way Revell incorporates this throughout her story makes it accessible. Not everything is smooth sailing as there is corruption of the worst kind. Revell writes the world of her characters in a professional way that deserves special attention as it is a difficult thing to successfully convey, while ensuring a top quality standard throughout.

The main adjective that I would like to stress in describing The Beneath is original. This novel is truly authentic and I have not read anything similar to this. It was such a refreshing read, showcasing the spectacular creativity Revell possesses. I am amazed with the direction this story follows. The most unpredictable events occur and will leave readers feeling every single emotion possible. Heartbreak, happiness, anger, and hate are the main ones I felt. This creates such an engaging read as the reader will seriously get lost in the world of The Beneath. The story is so captivating and powerful that you will not want to put this book down until you have finished it all. And then the anticipation for the second book will take over your emotion. I am patiently – or impatiently – waiting for the next book and readers will be very excited to receive the first two unedited chapters of book two. This is such an enticing choice as now I have had a taste for what is to come and desire more!

The narrative mainly follows Eve and begins with her account of her life up until the present, when the tense changes. This was an outstanding choice as it allowed for the reader to learn everything about Eve and become part of her life. I was so invested in all the events that had happened and was definitely was not prepared for what was going to come. Revell shapes her story in an incredible way that it constantly twists and turns in directions that the reader would never have considered. Eve is certainly my favourite character. She is strong willed, determined and fights for what she loves. Her connection to Noah is so powerful. Their love is not typical but it is boundless. There is no denying that these pair truly love each other. Their love creates a force so strong that makes the reader feel like they can conquer anything but there are moments of doubt, which will leave your heart hurting. The relationship of Noah and Eve may be the most notable example of love in the story but the other that is considerably more powerful is that of Eve and Adam. I think the love of siblings proves to be the most compelling in this story. Eve will do anything for her younger brother and will ensure his protection at any cost.

The secondary characters in this story provide for such an emotional read. As I outlined the feelings I felt while reading The Beneath above, many of these characters are cause for them – mostly the negative ones with the Joysons. There is stunning attention to creating remarkable characters alongside Eve and Noah. The pair wouldn’t be able to develop without them. I don’t want to go into too much detail here as I want to reserve my judgment and not influence your read of them. But what I will say is: I love Sister Theresa.

Overall, The Beneath is an incredible start to what is going to be a phenomenal series of books. I am really excited to see where Revell is going to take this story and I will recommend The Beneath to all fans of dystopian thriller with a dark romance.

So I knew this was gonna be a good read because it was recommended by A.L. Woods. And since I read everything from that author I kind of expected the unexpected!

But I was wrong. This wasn’t just good, this was a magnificent story! Who doesn’t like angst, anger and heart break!

I loved the premise of the book. I adore the writing! I inhaled the plot and story line!

I’m in love with Noah and Eve. Although I expected him to do more grovelling if I’m being honest with myself!

I am infatuated with Evan! And heart broken over Adam.
Not get me started on what I think of Noah’s parents and Council.

Epic book and I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

I thought Revell’s debut,’Because of Hattie’ was incredible, but ‘The Beneath:Behind the Wall’ is a whole new level of insanely good! What’s not to love when you have the dystopian vibe, mixed with crime and the right amount of sexual tension and tasteful raunch (sometimes on the darker side)?
So what’s the story?Imagine children being ostracised because they were born out of wedlock and as a result of this illegal act they were sent to live behind a wall, where freedom was only dreamed of and any comings and goings were strictly prohibited.
Picture the embarrassment of being looked down upon and the pain of not knowing anything about your heritage and instead having fellow orphans as your family...but what happens when these children grow up;fall in love;want children of their own?
Eve Matthews is one of those orphans, but she’s different to the others because her parents made the same ‘mistake’ twice.Eve has family-she has her younger brother,Adam, who she would do anything for,no matter what the cost.
When the young, naive, but fiercely independent Eve meets and falls in love with the dark, brooding and intoxicating Noah, their days have got be numbered, especially when their relationship has to be kept a secret. However,as we all know, nothing stays secret for long and nothing good can come from Eve loving one of the elite-the son of one of the founding families-the respected ones-the ones who keep their community ticking over. There’s rules to follow and when these rules are broken, there are consequences and you’d do anything for the ones you love-right?
Revell will take you on a journey of all consuming emotions:you’ll love and hate characters(some more despicable than others);you’ll laugh(one comment still makes me howl);you’ll get angry(oh did I get mad and boy did I want to get even); you’ll cry (or wail if you’re like me) and you’ll hope for things not to be real and you’ll demand change.
I was incredibly lucky to receive ‘The Beneath’ as an ARC,but at the same time I feel arrrrgh at getting this amazing opportunity.Yes,you heard right-arrrrgh!I’m impatient:I NEED the next instalment, after Revell’s tantalising teaser.Pre-order your copy today!

This story focuses on the love between Eve and Noah, the people who conspired to keep them apart and the consequences of coming between two people who have loved each other for nearly a decade. When one of those people is dangerous and can easily lose control, the consequences have dark repercussions. While this book has mature themes, there is an emotional and heart-breaking story underneath, that had me rooting for both the main protagonists. It had themes of familial loyalty, friendship, and love, and the lengths people will go to, in order to keep those they care about safe. The characters are very well written and there are so many that I adore. I could talk about them all in detail but I do not want to give any spoilers. Needless to say they are all complex and there is more to them than first meets the eye. Noah and Eve's relationship at first is slightly uncomfortable and I wanted to scream at her, "what is wrong with you?" However, the more you get to know the depth of their feelings for each other and the extent to which their life has impacted their personality and behaviour, the more you begin to understand. Eve always has control and, while she does allow Noah to use her to soothe his demons, she is allowing him to and can stop him at any time. Eve's strength of character is amazing, yet she shows real emotional depth. The way she uses her maternal instinct to do what needs to be done to protect her brother, is admirable. There are characters in this first book, that we have only just been given a taste of and I really hope that we get to read more about them in the second. I read this book within 24 hours and it has left me looking forward to the sequel so that I can discover the fury that is unleashed on those who dared to cross Eve and Noah.

Thank you to @roxannacrevell for gifting me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is going to make you feel ALL of the emotions.

We enter a dystopian world in which having children outside of wedlock is illegal, and those children born outside of marriage are sent across the wall to a place the residents call ‘The Beneath’. Here we meet Eve and her brother Adam. Eve and Adam are one of a kind in The Beneath as they’re the only full blood siblings, a rarity amongst orphans. We also meet Eve’s love interest, Noah, and discover all about the darkness that plagues him.

I immediately connected with Eve. She is a powerful female character who will do anything and everything it takes to keep those she loves safe, this includes her little brother Adam who I absolutely adore. Throughout the book we see the extent to which she will go, and let me tell you, there are some serious plot twists that will hit you out of nowhere!

We also get to know Noah, one of the Founding Family Trueborns, and it doesn’t take long to fall for him just as Eve does but there are other things at play here and The Beneath is about to become a dangerous place.

This story is full of passion, hope, anger and darkness. You will laugh, cry and want to throw this book at the wall repeatedly. Roxanna does a incredible job of weaving together an immersive story that takes your breath away. I’ve never read a book like this and I couldn’t recommend it enough, it’s a story you’ll be thinking about for a long time. I’m still not over it!!

Huge thank you to Roxanna for including me as part of her ARC team and responding to my constant messages about those plot twists.

This is a story you will not want to miss out on.

The end of this book left me without words and staring at my kindle in the very best way.

The range of emotions this story led me through was nothing short of incredible. Anger, sorrow, fear, lust, joy and grief. They're all there and I felt every one with the force of a wrecking ball.

Life in the Beneath isn't perfect but isn't all bad either. Eva is an Orphan but a unique one at that. The only orphan with a full blood sibling, Adam. She'll do anything to keep him safe and there are those who will use this against her.

Noah is broken, part of the ruling class he has a dark side which all fear. When the two meet by chance he sees something in Eve he's not willing to let go and so the tinder is lit.

Their relationship is forbidden, so hidden but no less real because of this. When Noah's family finds out things are set in motion which will change the future for everyone. The question is can Eve keeps those she loves safe even with the sacrifices she has made?

I loved all the characters in this story so much. Roxanna has this way of writing which just really clicks and means you feel like you really know the ins and outs in an effortless way. The righteous anger I felt at this world and its policies blew me away. More than once I had to stop and remind myself this is fiction! The "bad guys" have that perfect mix of outside nice personality and creeping evil underneath.

I really can't wait for the next part of this story, I have a feeling Roxanna has a few more surprises up her sleeve and I'd put money on Eva making sure she gets the revenge she deserves.

This book was not at all what I was expecting! A dark romance set in a dystopian world isn't my usual genre, but this gripped me almost immediately.

Revell's storytelling is exceptional and her words are so well-chosen and descriptive that I could visualise every part of The Beneath, from the clubs and warehouses to the dormitories and church.

But it was the characterisation that I really admired. Each of them is highly believable and compelling and I was strongly invested in their lives. I cared deeply about what happened to Adam, Eve and her sisters and even felt pity for Jane.

Eve's fierce love and protection of her brother is powerful and I really admired her spirit throughout. Despite her youth, her innocence is understated and she was instantly likeable. I'm not usually one for a bad boy, but I found myself strongly attracted to Noah. The scenes between him and Eve were extremely sexy, but not overdone or unbelievable. His contrasting moods made him interesting and Eve more admirable.

The side characters of Sister Theresa, Rose and Adam were equally as well-written and relatable and I joined them in their lust, tears and anger, rooting for Eve and despising Noah's family in turn.

Revell has produced a book that I couldn't put down and I can't wait for the next one in the series.

*I received a copy of this as a BETA and as an ARC in return for my honest reviews and thoughts*

This story still gets to me each and every time. It still breaks my heart, still makes me angry and at times will make me laugh. This is a story that I truly can not put into words how it makes me feel. It is a story that you have to read to experience. There is no review that will tell you the emotions you are going to feel, and the experiences that Roxanna is going to toss at you. This story has so many twists and turns. It is going to keep you on your toes, and just make you feel so helpless until the end. Then you are going to want more! So much more! She leaves you with the worst book hangover EVER, craving the second story (yes I am on the verge of begging but I know it is not completed yet). I have read this story three times now and each time it hits me just as hard as the first time. Then she had to turn around and give us a sneak peak into the second book! She is just teasing us at this point!

I did not expect to love a book like this as much as I did! I don't normally read dystopian/dark romance but this book has nailed it for me!
I absolutely loved the story in this book. It's about a place called the beneath where the orphans are sent. They have to follow the council's rules and are not allowed to leave.
There's a romance between Noah and Eve who are the main characters in this book.
Their relationship came with many obstacles they had to face together.
Noah is a part of the ruling class and a part of the council's families.
Eve is an orphan who lives with her biological sibling called Adam which is rare in the beneath!
The story had so many likeable characters and they are all easy to remember which I love.
I love how all the characters are different but bring something to the book.
This story broke my heart but it was just amazing and very well written!!
This book is so unique and it really gripped me from page one. I read the first two chapters in the next book and I'm so excited😌
You must read this when it's published!

I am absofrigginloutley left speechless beyond words. The drama, love, lust, pain, betrayal is mesmerising & i was fully lost into the world of The Beneath: behind the wall ... which HOLD UP is unlike any book I've read before.

*𝐰𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲* I am actually speechless right now... absolutely friggin outstanding!!

When a "trueborn" falls for an Orphan it could only mean one thing!

"𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞."

Eve & Noah are breathtaking together and who the heck doesn't love a broody, mysterious, hot AF alpha. But when there connection is real and every sentence was raw and passionate it leaves your heart full.

The emotional rollercoaster within this book is one HELLA a ride and i felt my breath hitching, tears rolling, laughter and heart wrenching moments. Roxanna you have an incredible talent!

Oh. My. God. This freaking book just about killed me….. This book is unlike anything I have ever read! It’s filled with pain, love, drama, lust, and so much more. I couldn’t put this amazing story down.

Eve and Noah are soulmates * you can’t argue with me on that * The love they have for each other is so raw and passionate. Noah is a bit of a mystery and an alpha male all the way! Gosh all the stuff he has to do breaks my heart. Eve is an orphan, who is just trying to get through everyday when suddenly everything changes forever. This book had me smiling, crying, and wanting to scream. It’s definitely an emotional roller coaster, but I loved every bit of it. This is a dystopian like universe, which I love. It’s unique and very dark, so please make sure to check TWs! But seriously though, the plot is so different and it’s such an addicting story that will leave you wanting more!

5 Stars!

I was a little unsure after reading the blurb as to whether I would enjoy this as don't often read dark romance but I wasn't disappointed! Roxanna's style of writing was brilliant at getting to know the characters and feeling their struggles and emotions, making you keep reading to see where their lives went. Whilst in parts the romance was detailed and dark, it didn't detract from the story and the passion of Eve and Noah's relationship.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to book 2 to see where their paths lead. If you like dystopian fiction with some added suspense and strong characters then this is definitely worth a read.

Thanks to Roxanna for kindly letting me read this ARC with my book group.

This book, just wow. This world was so fascinating and so different. Everyone had their own place in it and you couldn't change it. Eve is an orphan and Noah is a fourth generation Foundin Family Trueborn. They meet when Noah gets his sister from school. They were intrigued of each other right away. First they kept their relationship hidden but when they finally came open with their love, everything changed. There were so much heartbreak but also happiness. I really liked both of them but sometimes I wasn't so sure about Noah. I loved how this book ended but there is some stuff without answers. Can't wait to read next book.

After starting this book and thinking I would read it nice and slow, I ended up binge reading it into the early hours.
It’s a really emotional read which made me happy, angry and shocked at the same time.
Do I like Noah? Not sure.
Do I like Ruth? No and what do I think about Eve and Adam? I love them.
Such interesting characters and an unpredictable storyline that will keep you hooked and wanting more.
This book is well worth a read and personally I am really looking forward to reading the next 2 in the series.

The Beneath is a dystopian and book #1 in Behind the Wall series. Normally, I don't really read many dystopian novels, I find it hard to relate to them.  The Beneath is certainly a unique plot. Although, it did take me a while for me to get into the story. However, after a couple of chapters in it really picked up. I was truly amazed at how the storyline unfolded; it was a thrilling experience and I didn't want it to end! The story begins from the heroine, Eve's past, it proceeds on like this for a while leading up to the present. I liked how the author created this setting, that she didn't go back and forth in time, hence sometimes I find it a bit tiring to keep up when it's like that. Roxanna C. Revell pleasantly surprised me with her writing technique. The build up and character development is outstanding! You could say that The Beneath is both a plot and character driven book. And let's not forget about the plot twists!! I mean, as soon as one plot twist happens, not too shortly another one occurs. And the ending!!! I can't wait for book 2!

I loved the interactions between Eve and her brother Adam. Eve's character growth throughout the book was amazing!! To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Noah (hero). Although, there were some scenes that made me warm up to him a little bit. I'm not over the moon for him, but I don't dislike him either. He's the type of character when you want to hate him, but you can't. I absolutely loved Sister Theresa!! She's definitely one of my favorite characters! She's like a mother figure to Eve and Adam.  The only negative that I have is with Eve's behavior towards Noah. She was always coming up with excuses for his behavior and justifying it. I mean, I get that she loves him and all. I don't know, I found it just a little bit annoying for my taste. Roxanna C. Revell continued to surprise me as I read the second half of the book. Eve's character developed even more! I don't want to give any spoilers away, but there was a devastating incident and it shattered Eve. My heart went out to her. Hence, no matter how it destroyed her in every way, Eve was finally able to find her voice to fight back.

A wall separates two sides; a division dividing The Beneath and The Other Side. Children who were born out of wedlock is consider a crime. And as a form of punishment, the children were sent to The Beneath, from The Other Side. Eve is an orphan; she has been living at St Martin or The Church with her brother Adam, for most of her life. You could say that she was living a peaceful life, until now. Eve is in a secret relationship with Noah Joysen, a Founding Family Trueborn. When Noah's family and The Council becomes aware of their relationship, Eve's life is never going to be the same.

If you're looking for a book that will knock your socks off, this is the perfect one. This is a book that you will want to devour and not put down. This book isn't like anything I've ever read before, and I absolutely love that. This book is a roller coaster when it comes to your emotions though. This story is dark and edgy. It's extremely well written and will leave you wanting more. Just wait until you reach the end, it will leave you reeling.

Huge thank you to Author Roxanna C Revell for gifting me an ARC copy of her book, The Beneath. Truly an adventurous read and full of sexy scenes that kept me interested.

Revell created a dystopian world that was eery in how relatable it could actually be should individuals with moralistic tendencies have control. I enjoyed this book for both the sensitive subjects it touched on. Yes, there is a trigger warning for the suggestion of rape and suicide, but don’t worry, neither of which are actually carried out in this book. I found the connection with MC Eve and her brother, Adam, to be gripping. Having brothers of my own, I felt for the MC.

As much as I love a good character driver book, this story was weirdly a combination of both plot and character. Revell did a fabulous job on dialogue which really sucks the reader in. You felt like you really got to know the characters and their development throughout… and oh the twists! Incredible.

I honestly cannot believe the amount of emotions Revell stirred up in me with this story, I was angry, sad, absolutely fell in love with Noah and the wit was great. A book that can genuinely make me laugh out loud while reading it is top notch in my opinion. But damn do I hate a cliff-hanger… and having to wait. What is going on with these authors these days and needing to keep me in suspense. My poor heart can’t handle it!

This book, to put it simply, was incredible! It drew me in from the description and it still has it's clutches in me now that I'm finished. Roxanna has created a world that will leave you breathless and feeling emotions that will make it impossible to ever forget this book. She has made it so that I'm completely invested in the characters and the story and not only want, but need more! I feel for Eve, I feel for Noah and the agreement they have to come to, oh I feel anger. They're love is the love of fairytales and soulmates and yet it's looked at with disgust. This series opener will have you questioning everything you know about how life could be. You'll think of how our world is similar and how it's not. You'll say you could never live in a world like this and you would fight to the end. You'll also wonder if you'd be strong enough. This book has taken my thoughts in a thousand directions and it all leads back to being utterly destroyed. This book destroyed me, it had me having hope, feeling bubbly and then wanting to see heads roll! I feel broken and lost and I will not be able to function until I get more of this world. Roxanna has written a story that is unbelievable and I loved every second of it!

First of all, a huge thank you to Roxanna for gifting me an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I don't read much dark romance, but this one really blew me away and I can see myself recommending this one to people for many years to come. The Beneath is the first book I have read by Roxanna and before I'd even made it 10% of the way into the book, I was intrigued by the characters and their dynamics as well as what would become of them.

Roxanna's writing style is divinely accessible and she has the ability to write steamy scenes in a way that isn't totally cringe-worthy. The book is full of moments where you are made uncomfortable, made laugh, and made me furious! It's full of angst and gasp-worthy moments with quite a few twists and turns I had not expected. There are characters I love and characters I hate! There are so many questions I have for the next book in the series that I just can't wait for it to be released (and this one is only just out!)

One thing is certain: Roxanna's writing talent is undeniable, and if you are 18+ and love a steamy, dark romance read — this is the one for you.

This has to be the most intoxicating book of 2021. I lived and breathed this book. Everything about it, the setting, the backstory, the storyline, the characters - all of it truly incredible.

I could not recommend this book enough. In fact, any comment I make could ever do this book justice. I have only one theory - Roxanna is a genius and she deserves every bit of praise coming to her.

The setting of this book is so clever and brilliantly thought out, I’ve never known anything like it. If the setting isn’t enough to draw you in, the sexual chemistry is enough to keep you hooked. The characters compliment each other and I can’t think of a single character who is not necessary to the plot. Trust me, there will be some characters that you hate and some that you love - and that just makes it even more pleasurable to read.

The storyline is enough to hook you and trust me, it won’t take you long to read. This is addictive and intoxicating and I would recommend it to anyone.

I don't think my review will be able to do this book justice, as it's more of a book you just need to read to see how amazing it is!

From the first page I was sucked into the story of The Beneath. The love, the chaos, and the anger could all be felt through the way this book was written. There were times when I was smiling, times when I was crying and times where I wanted to scream at the characters in the book.

I loved the descriptive writing as this really made you feel like you were there, and also made for great character development as you felt as though you knew everyone personally.

The storyline was outstanding and I found it not only really intriguing but also not too far-fetched that you couldn't imagine that it might happen.

5 🌟 (but definitely deserving of more) I'd highly recommend this book to anyone, even if dark romance isn't your thing I'd give The Beneath a read and see if it changes your mind.

Wow, I absolutely adored this book. It’s a forbidden love story. I was in a reading slump but this book soon took me out of it. I was really invested in the book from the beginning and found myself staying up later than I should have wanting to read more but also not wanting it to end.
You will absolutely love and also hate hate hate!!!!! some of the characters.
Believe it or not I was really apprehensive about reading this at first but now I already cannot wait until book 2, so don’t even question it - GO AND READ TODAY
