With Alan Baker's playful little rabbits as their guide, very young children will learn readily as they enjoy the colorful mix of animals, objects, vehicles and explore the interactive games on each page. Parents and teachers who are encouraging children to learn to count, will appreciate the variety of early numeracy skills that will help to give pre-schoolers a headstart at school. Helpful notes, developed in consultation with an expert, on how to use the book make it fun and easy for parents and children to share.
This addition to the Little Rabbit series is excellent for the older preschooler (4+) and kindergarten Little Rabbit fan. It works through most of the basic math readiness exercises with the familiar, adorable rabbit characters; the parent can coax a less eager arithmetician through it with simplification and later move up to doing the counting and matching activities on each page as described. Not a bedtime book-- requires a certain amount of attention and takes quite a while to finish. The illustrations are as charming and lifelike as ever. Definitely a keeper.
I chose this book to learn how to incorporate books into teaching, and I found this book to very cute. After reading the book, I see the education value and I really like how the pictures went along with counting. This book was very interactive and will help kids learn to count from 1-10 and recognize how to count objects.
