The Men #1

Meeting Mr. Anderson

Rate this book
Some people go to Hollywood to chase their dream.
My Hollywood dream is in seat 4A.

After the stunt my ex pulled, no one would blame me if I swore off men forever, especially one like Mr Jay Anderson, Hollywood’s sexiest heartthrob.

Maybe undressing me with his striking blue eyes as I perform the safety demonstration on a flight to LA is normal behaviour for him.

Maybe not.

But I know one thing for sure, he should come with a warning label. Because once you meet a man like Jay Anderson, there is no going back.

With his dirty blonde hair and those eyes; he’s a beautiful, X-rated fairy-tale.

But beauty is a magnificent smokescreen. And a fairy-tale is just that… a tale.

It’s never as simple as happily ever after,

not when you’re meeting Mr Anderson.

Oh this book.
It's a great read for when you want to just zone out, have a nice relax in a hot bath and turn your brain off for a few hours.
I did just that.

Jay is lovely. Holly is annoying.
How he puts up with her is beyond me.

Look, we all know reading these books that it's insta love that goes fantastic for a while and then the big confrontation happens where they break up, before they get back together again.
And I was waiting for it. What was going to happen? Maybe the break in had installed cameras and leaked a sex tape. Maybe she got assaulted by actual crazy papparazzi. Maybe a crazy fan? Maybe Jay had to go to court cause he assaulted Simon, I mean, the options are LIMITLESS. Especially when you write about a hollywood nr 1 star (which, come one, is everyone's fantasy).

But no. She gets her whole panties in a twist because she found a photo of him 10 YEARS AGO! with another girl, who she knows is DEAD. And is devastated about it.

Like, where are your braincells holly? For someone that's 28 years old, have you not acquired the skill to have an adult conversation?
Her big secret wasn't really a secret. Her reason to leave was rubbish. It's a goddamn miracle Jay still wanted her after that stunt she pulled.
It literally could've gone like this: Hey Jay, I found a photo of you and Robyn 10 years ago. I didn't realise she was a girl... were you together?
Jay: No, Robyn was actually my best friend and also gay.
Holly: Oh, that makes sense. How did she die?
Jay has emotional moment. Holly is supportive.
Drama averted.

Like, technically they could've even gone without the whole break up scene and just have a happily ever after book. This non problem basically made me stop read and just flick over to the make up part *and cringe* and then read the epilogue. Which is a shame, because I quite enjoyed the rest of the book although the dirty talk and the screaming was a bit over the top.

Thank fuck no one complained in that hotel of theirs that they were too loud. LOL.

So much sex and so little emotional bonding or any real plot. Not sure whether to give it 2 stars or 3 so I settled for 2.5.
Couldn't relate to the sex scenes. They were way too raw for me and didn't seem to fit with the heroine's character at all. Practically every chapter there would be a sex scene to the point it got really boring. Plot was really really thin. I couldn't figure out where the story was actually going for the first half of the book.
The things that really ruined it for me was the total unrealistic relationship that was all about sex and nothing more. There was not real emotional connection between the her and heroine and it never really developed either.

DNF - I’m sure it’s just a *ME* thing… I mean… when is it not?? 😬🙈🤣 I’m just not feeling sexually experienced heroines these days. Once she busted out the dirty talk with a dude she didn’t even know, I was 🥴✌🏻 I’m sure others won’t cringe as much as I did. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wanna hear HIM throw down with dirty talk. 😎😅

3.5 stars for me

It’s written fairly well. I like the story line.

The H is some hot shot Hollywood elite actor. He’s not egotistical though, he’s pretty down to earth.
The h is a flight attendant and a bit on the quiet side. I wouldn’t say she’s shy though due to her career. She’s a comedian and doesn’t know it. Which I found to be an endearing quality of her and enjoyed reading.
The book did have me giggle multiple times.

The part I’m not connecting with is when they are together in bed. I feel like it’s an entirely different author who wrote those scenes. When the h is talking, it doesn’t make sense nor does it go with her personality. Also, she’s all “I don’t do one night stands” and then bam, she has a one night stand. There was too much contradicting of what she says vs what she actually does and it drew me back from fully investing into her character.

I didn’t have any major issues investing in the H. I was annoyed that he wasn’t forthcoming about a certain person. He said he did it to spare her feelings which was cliche because everyone knows when you’re not honest, it blows up in your face. It was such a typical guy thing to do.

Meeting Mr. Anderson by Elle Nicoll gave me ALL the TL Swan feels and vibes. This book made not only my heart flutter but my kitty as well if you know what I mean. This book was HOT, it was SPICY.

Holly Havers is a young, quiet, heartbroken flight attendant. While flying her eyes meet an intense pair of blue eyes. These eyes belong to a hot, successful actor known to be Jay Anderson. Jay may be a sex god with lots of fame and fortune but he is also fighting demons nobody is aware of. Is Holly cut out for the truth? Will Jay open up to Holly about his struggles?

The side character in this book will have you loving them as much as the main characters. I am hoping and praying for a second book. I can not get enough of sweet Holly and heartthrob Jay. I savored every minute of this story and I know YOU reading this review will too. Elle Nicoll has gained a new fan and a forever reader. Loved this book so much!! :)

I honestly don't think that this book even deserves one-star but I just gave it to drop the actual rating.

They dove into something without actually talking lol. Also sex every chapter with Holly's characteristics and Holly's dirty talking PUHAHAHA. "We made eye contact and suddenly my inner erotica book level dirty talking was summoned." This part made me shit my pants from laughing.

Jay I'm asking you, if you detest unreal people why did you even try to sleep with Holly? Cuz you saw her talk with a dinosaur aged grandma... She was just earning money. You are a celebrity plssss don't be so gullible.

Let's talk about Holly. First her name. Please don't give names to your characters like "Holly". It reminded me of a cartoon game from 2000s.
And her character.
Holly was just hysterical and jumped into conclusions way too often for my liking. Like "OMG he cheats on me😭" when they weren't together in the first place.
"OMG he doesn't love me because I look like his dead friend and he is still in love with her." You confessed your love to him a second ago just chill for fucks sake.

"I couldn’t stay knowing that you would hurt more each time you looked at me. Like seeing a ghost of Robyn. Knowing that I was holding you back from healing.”
“Holly, I’ve screwed this up so much. Robyn really was just my friend. We weren’t in love.”
“I want to believe that, Jay, I do, it’s just—”
“Holly. I swear to you, it’s the truth. I swear to you on my life. Robyn was into girls. We were never anything other than friends.” His eyes are frantic, darting between mine.
Robyn was gay?"

She actually lied and said "I didn't want to hold you back from healing." Hahahaha she went blind with jealousy and crashed HIS car.
Also Robyn had to be gay to not be a threat because that's how the universe works. I can't believe I read this piece of shit.

I actually really like characters who makes stupid decisions but Holly was another species. And I don't want this level of stupidity in a book.

I thought that reading the first book in the series might be a good idea but I'm regretting it now. If I wanted to see hysterical characters I would have just looked into the mirror.

I've had a blast reading this ARC of Mr Anderson. The characters were engaging and fun to read, the steamy scenes in keeping with the romantic plotline and the story itself flowed well. With some twists and turns along the way it kept me turning those pages until the very end. The dialogue between characters was effective and the banter fun to be a part of. I enjoyed meeting friends and family along the way as well as the dual locations. I hope to see more from this author.

Elle Nicoll did an excellent job with her debut novel, meeting Mr. Anderson. The storyline was original, different and there were no loose strings at the end. The characters were well thought about, interesting and quirky.
The story was written from Holly's pov, which I enjoyed. She was funny without trying to be funny.
Jay was perfect! He made me swoon from beginning to end.
There were multiple sex scenes in the book. One hotter than the other, and I enjoyed reading them. My only issue was that I couldn't see Holly as a dirty talker because it was so different than how she talked in her daily life.
A lot was going on in the background with the side characters, but it didn't overpower the main story. It all happened very naturally and made me very curious about the second book. Who is Mr. X???
Meeting Mr.Anderson is for the reader who likes an original story about falling in love, growing in a relationship, and moving on from the past.

Cute, steamy read with all the angst! There were a lot of things I liked about this story: it was well written, moved quickly, and there was tons of chemistry and super 🔥🔥🔥 smexy that nearly caused my kindle to catch on fire, lol. On the flip side of that, it was the FMC's insecurities that was the primary cause of the angst in the book, and it was a bit too much for me. Ironically, so were the smexy times, lol. I'm a fan of tons of steamy smexy, but not as the primary bulk of the story. It just came across as smexy with a side of a story... as opposed to the other way around. By no means am I poopoo-ing this author - it really was a good read and I definitely recommend it. I've already read the next book and it's freaking fantastic! I'm really looking forward to seeing more from this author!

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Holly a flight attendant meets Hollywood superstar Jay Anderson. First this book took awhile to get into and even up to the end it was still a struggle to finish. We get typical cliche Hollywood life with the main characters, sex and more sex. Almost shy and sweet Holly who just reads and doesn’t do internet has the dirtiest mouth out of nowhere. Really didn’t suit her character. For the conflict, I found it to be a stretch. It was the most cliche thing ever riddled with just lack of communication and jumping to the closest conclusions that’s far from the truth. I can’t say how much I rolled my eyes. I didn’t even read the epilogue because it didn’t interest me.

Holly is a flight attendant and has been called to work the flight to LA last minute. She ends up hitting it off with little old Vera, but then notices a pair of piercing blue eyes on her from seat 4A. Holly has no idea who he is but her friend Matt isn’t afraid to fill her in. Seat 4A is occupied by none other than Jay Andersen, actor and model. He is currently starring in “Steel Force” FBI program.

Holly ends up having a little chat with Jay about how a male bird attracts female birds by dancing around a stick, although Jay thinks Holly is quite refreshing, Holly now just wants to jump in a hole and hide of embarrassment.

Jay is a sweet guy with a past that is holding him back, will he confide in Holly and let her know what is happening? Or will all become to much for the pair?

Holly isn’t the most confident women, she works on long haul flights so she isn’t shy but, after the number her ex Simon pulled on her, she struggles to trust people. This is evident by the way she acts. Could Jay be what she has been needing all along? Or has Simon ruined her chances of having a happy ending?

This book has some good twists in it, one I did guess but a few others which I did not see coming at all. You get to learn about different characters, one of which, Rachel, who is selling things online for a man called Mr X? It’s a very intriguing agreement by the sounds of things. Then there is the lovely Matt who just wants to be loved and have someone who he can have his happily ever after with. Will he find his Mr Right?

At times I just wanted to quit my job and apply to be an air hostess as the travelling and people just sound so much fun!

Great book by Elle Nicoll and I look forward to reading more from her very soon.

This novel represented a lot of firsts for me - first time reading the debut novel of a new author, first romance featuring a heroine working in an industry I’m very familiar with, and first ever ACTUAL OUT LOUD GASP when a mystery was revealed that I truly did not see coming at all!

Meeting Mr. Anderson is a fantastic, fun romance written in the heroine’s POV (with a one-chapter flashback from the hero’s perspective) featuring a kind-hearted flight attendant and the Hollywood heartthrob who can’t resist her.

Jay and Holly’s attraction to each other was instantaneous, which was understandable, but it felt to me like their physical interest in each other was quickly translated into an emotional connection without much interaction between them to support it. Once they had been through a bit together and overcome the first ‘speed bump’ in their relationship, I started to believe in them as a couple more and found the story really grabbed my interest again. Jay’s possessive, alpha personality made a lot of sense to me given the lack of control he has over so many aspects of his life being in the spotlight, and his desire to focus his sexual energy with Holly toward helping her rebuild her self-confidence really appealed to me. I loved seeing Holly rediscover herself and become comfortable exploring new levels of intimacy.

The plot was enjoyable and included some exciting twists and turns, which in my opinion was sometimes diluted by excessive detail about the setting making the pace seem a little sluggish. My last minor criticism was that oftentimes observations about the scene were restated when I thought we as readers could be trusted to reach those conclusions on our own (ex.: after a few pages of Jay interacting with his family involving a lot of banter, personal jokes, and affectionate praise came the line “It’s easy to see what a close, loving family they are.” – this was true, but having it spoon fed to me felt redundant).

All in all, this was an unforgettable story and a great beginning to Elle Nicoll’s writing. I look forward to reading the next expected release of Rachel’s story!

Holly meets Jay when she is working a long-haul flight that he is on. Charmed by her, he asks her out and one thing leads to another. They meet up whenever Holly can work a flight to LAX, and they begin a relationship. Holly and Jay have quite the sizzling chemistry and seem to bring out the best in each other. Add in the paparazzi, a few misunderstandings and some great best friends, and this story just becomes more entertaining.

I really enjoyed this novel as Holly and Jay are such likeable characters. They have their good and bad sides, but some of the things they say to each other are pretty naughty. I have to say that the last chapter was particularly swoon-worthy and romantic!

New author definitely worth the read

New author and her first book. I LIKED IT SO MUCH. Gorgeous air steward Holly meets handsome Hollywood actor. I was thinking this is going to be a bit blaise but I was wrong. Strong characters well drawn out, the story was enjoyable and the sex scenes were so hot but didn't override the love story that developed. There was no cheating which can be important to a lot of readers and a lovely ending. I am looking forward to me novels by Elle.

this book felt like reading a really bad Wattpad story… i will say that i was enjoying it so much in the first two chapters but certain dialogue between the two characters made this book very uncomfortable for me… like super uncomfortable, i was cringing throughout

the plot line is good but the way it was executed wasn’t.. so in other words, this was not for me BUT i do want to continue the series, hopefully it gets better

It’s an okay book. It’s not the best nor the worst. It just didn’t deliver what I expected. I liked that the male hero wasn’t egoistic or self-centered and was rather down to earth. It feels like males are often written as huge douches who then change for the female lead, but here the hero is likable straight from the beginning.

Like someone else mentioned, the intimate scenes felt as if they were written by another author. It did not really fit with the overall writing of the book, and honestly felt rather cringy and odd at some points. I skipped multiple of them due to that.

But like I said, overall an okay book and I’ll keep my eye on the author and her future works!

I don’t understand the point of this book. They start seeing each other almost immediately and all they do is hang out and have sex. There’s a bit of an issue but it’s not really high stakes and honestly seems irrelevant. And the “big fight” is at the very end and is soooo stupid.

SPOILER:
I HATE when a character breaks up with the other for “their own good” it’s so dumb. Have a conversation instead of making the decision to break up and not tell the other person why and playing the martyr. As if breaking up with them is a favour.

A pure Romantic, steamy ride ahead 😍🔥

Meeting Mr. Anderson has just made me swoon and sigh and fan myself so many times. A romance that takes place high up in the air but ends up grounding and binding both Jay and Holly in the beauty of love.

This one I loved loved because this is what I want when I mean pure romance. Living a crazy fantasy and also having steamier times 😉😉.

Holly meets the Hollywood heartthrob, Jay Anderson in the flight for LA. But at the time she had no idea that the blue eyed hottie was a famous star. There's a spark right from the start when their eyes meet.

Holly never has had a casual thing in her life so when Jay asks her for a guest show and then a party, she feels this to be a opportunity to enjoy and not to missed.

But right from the start, along with the freaking hotter than fire times they have together their's a connection between them both. Soon it happens that they are unable to stop from coming back for more and seeing each other.

But Holly's past has Shrouded her into insecurities and when you've always felt not enough, being with a huge star and the face that makes girls go crazy all over, only time will tell if you can trust or get swept on the veil of lies in the glamour world.

BUT JAY AND HOLLY WERE SO CRAZY & THEY CHEMISTRY SURE SET MY KINDLE ON FIRE. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🔥🔥🔥

Also loved Holly's other friends, Matt and Rachel. Especially Rachel's mysterious Mr. X, who is he and why does he pay Rachel for this kinda stuff. I'm so curious about them.
But Jay and Holly have melt my heart and left the atmosphere hotter. Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Meeting Mr Anderson- “The Men Series”
by Ella Nicoll

“Good Evening Ladies and Gentleman. On behalf of the Captain and especially this entire crew. I’d like to welcome you aboard Flight #6969 shortly departing to Sin Central!”

Holly Havers is a kind, sweet, reserved flight attendant, who had her heart broken and not interested in dating. After being called out on standby to LA, she ends up having “Mr Holy Hotness with sexy blue eyes” sitting in her section. 🔥 “So, the hot man in seat 4A with a the deep voice that makes dormant areas of me flutter, is Jay Anderson, successful Hollywood star and sex god.”

Jay Anderson is every woman’s celebrity wet dream. Even though he has the “all-American jock look - dark blonde hair, square jawline designer stubble” and looks like a smooth shot of whiskey in tight jeans and a t-shirt, doesn’t mean he isn’t immune to demons from the past. Will Jay tell Holly about the demons from his past that keep chasing him? Will she be able to help him face those demons head on?

After spending time together, the undeniable sexual tension was very evident. Their funny banter and chemistry only added to the hot and steamy connection between Holly and Jay. I loved how Jay brought Holly our of her shell. Holly and Jay lit up the pages with some pretty hot, spicy and sexy scenes. Elle Nicoll wrote these sexy scenes so very well!! 5/5 😉

Lastly, after 23 years of flying, how come I don’t get hot celebrity studs boarding my flight and hitting on me!? Nope ... I get nothing! 🤣🤣 Therefore, I guess until that day comes, I will have to continue living vicariously through Elle Nicoll and her adventures with flight attendants and hot studs!

Meeting Mr. Anderson✨

The feels: 3/3💋
The steam: 3/3🔥
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌿In her new book, Meeting Mr. Anderson, Elle Nicoll provides a delicious combination of remarkable writing, swoon-worthy romance, dramatic angst, and hot AF sex scenes!🔥🔥

🌿Holly Havers is a young flight attendant, who has recently emerged from a toxic relationship that destroyed her self-esteem. After locking eyes with a gorgeous actor on a flight to LA, Holly begins the journey of discovering the beautiful goddess she is.

🌿Jay Anderson is a successful actor, who has been suffering heartbreak and guilt from the devastating loss of a loved one. Immediately drawn to her, Jay invites Holly to spend the evening him, along with their friends, which leads to drinking, laughter, and some serious steam😍

🌿But will their connection be strong enough to withstand the demons of their pasts?

🌿I loved the hilarious dialogue in this book, and how each person in the story had their own brand of unique charm. I loved them all! Without giving away too many spoilers, the secondary characters were incredible and I sincerely hope to hear more about Mr. X😉

🌿Over and over during this story, I kept thinking, “there’s no way this author is new!” Elle Nicoll definitely gives off a TL Swan, Ella James vibe that I absolutely love. I can’t wait for more of her books!💗

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
Holly’s ex damaged her self-esteem leaving her a little broken she decides work is the medicine needed and while working the flight to LA she meets Jay Hollywood’s sexiest heartthrob headed to LA she decides to take a little time off and spending it in LA with the sexiest heartthrob. Jay is looking for something real not based on his good looks so when he meets Holly he realizes something is different about her and he wants to learn more about her and he will do everything to help her see, understand how beautiful she is and show her just what a jerk she was dating but will it lead to happiness?
