“You won’t find another book quite like my friend Anthony Torres’ debut Letters to My People: Thoughts of a Recovering Addict .
These very personal experiences that Anthony shares in letter form have a unique way of taking you into the consciousness of someone so lost in the black hole of their drug induced reality that it would appear impossible for them to escape.
There is an enormous dose of hope found in Letters to My People , and I believe, without a doubt, that this book is going to be a breeding ground for miracles.
The world doesn’t need anymore watered down, weak self-help books! The world needs true, genuine, down and dirty life stories like Anthony’s that don’t sugar coat, but give the raw authentic, “tell it like it is” truth!”
— Brian "Head" Welch Co-founder of the Grammy Award winning band Korn, New York Times best-selling author of Save Me From Myself, and the subject of the Showtime documentary Loud Krazy Love.

Letters to My People is an interesting book of letters for people in recovery or even thinking about learning more about recovery. I found the letter approach pretty cool, it made the story personal I also really liked that while religion is a big part of his own recovery, he did not focus solely on that. Recovery is never easy, there are all sorts of ups and downs, and it is not a one size fits all deal. I think that the author really has solid advice and is a fantastic role model for people in recovery.

My thoughts on Letters to my people

Very emotional and very raw. Brought a lot of thoughts and insights into the world of addiction. Truly enjoyed the message. The letter to his momma was the one to make me cry

Amazing book

This was not what I it would be. This is an amazing person. I have had the pleasure of meeting and watching him on Sundays on line. When my husband passed away he did his service. After reading his book I lived through events that children should never see. And a depressing time I did not understand. He has done so much in the community and is a genuine man God placed in this community.
