A delightful book-version of one of my favorite TV shows, Aerial America. Filled with pictures (oftentimes huge and always in color), the reader not only gets immersed in the views but is also rewarded with insightful and detailed captions for every image. Beyond that, the structure of the book is very easy to follow as the author guides the reader on an imaginary flight over the US (with pictures highlighting what the reader would see, importantly with many from less visited places that connect population centers). A final gift is the balance between the witty and entertaining tone the author takes (which at times made me laugh irl) with the clear passion for distilling the history of each major region. Excellent!

Absolutely stunning. I love everything about this book. The pictures, the information about each place. Very informative and inspiring. I have learned so much from reading and admiring the beauty of America. The pictures from space are breathtaking. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about the country’s history. Great job! Amazing! This book is an “Ambassador” for “America from the air. “

Pretty Pictures, not much interest in the text.
Maybe good for into to American geography for grade schoolers?
