The stories in this volume show the many faces of soldiering in World War II. The reality of war with its combination of tedium, tension and terror is evoked in sniping duels in the ruins of Stalingrad to battles in the Pacific Ocean and on land in Normandy.
I personally lost interest around 38%, however, that does not mean this book was bad. This book was really good and interesting, I just lost interest in the topic because it felt like I'm reading something for school because starting college I will learn about History. So to those who like reading about historical events and are interested in real experiences I can highly recommend this book. I enjoyed it but found it quite hard to concentrate and decided to read fiction instead.
