Absolutely beautiful fic. I cried (far too many times), I screamed, I giggled and laughed and punched my pillow. I couldn’t tear myself away from this one. 100/5.

This story is one of the best I’ve ever read. The way that the author weaves the story into the current MCU canon and films. Using details you would have never picked up on (broken picture frame anyone?) to bring a poignancy to the story.

Overall I highly recommend this story.

However there is trigger warnings - mainly at the start of the story - I’ve detailed the specific triggers in the spoilers section.

*SPOILERS*

It starts as a standard MCU story line, giving background without being boring, moves into such a cute love story that considers elements of mental health not really addressed before Falcon and the winter solider in the actual MCU. Then we get a sprinkle of Law and Order, a dusting of techno babble and with a redemption arc. We then move back into MCU territory, being under the thumb of a bureaucratic agency and then finishes at Endgame.

Trigger warning for experimentation on children, kidnapping and murder of children, mind control and implied attempted rape.

Why can I never be happy? Bro what the fuck. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it sure as shit wasn’t 2000 PAGES OF ANGSTY HEARTACHE. Dude I’m in physical pain. I mean, this was SUCH a hit and so good, but damn my heart can only take so much. My stomach felt like it was dying for most of this

Also this is a spoiler but major fuck you for still killing tony WHY. I shouldn’t have read this. I’m ruined. Destroyed, I need to stop trusting TikTok.

Hurting. A lot. Even thought happy ending, I don’t feel rewarded. I feel punished. Enjoyable but too much hurt and now I’m just sad.

This book is more well-written than most traditionally published works today 😭

An absolute masterpiece.
