It is short (110 pages) with dual point of view.

I rarely read novellas because they always lack depth and I am never satisfied with them. Why I read this one was because a friend said it was a lot of fun and yes, it really had fun moments that made me smile or laugh but if only the hero didn't say, "Call me daddy", or if only the heroine didn't say, "Put your babies in me". That was beyond cringy for me and killed all the fun and made me hate the book easily.

When Tabitha finds out her sister is getting married to Tabitha's high school sweetheart she tells her family she is dating the sexy doctor in the hospital she works at. Brody agrees to be her date for her sister's wedding and sparks fly. Sweet and steamy love story with a cute epilogue with pregnant heroine. Both hero and heroine are lovable.

Safety: heroine's ex boyfriend causes some drama! he kissed the heroine and hero punched him. both hero and heroine are experienced, sadly no virgins here. No cheating.

ARC provided for an honest review.

This was my first book by Tory Baker but it won’t be my last! This book was quick, hot and over the top. Just like I like ‘em!

“I have to admit I like when you call me gorgeous—even if you are lying.”
“I’m not, sweetheart. You are fucking gorgeous. You’re so damn beautiful you make my teeth hurt.”
“Your teeth hurt?”
“Because I want to bite into you, mark you. Eat you so that your taste is always on my tongue. Possess you, own you… you can take your pick really."

Tabitha was adorable and Brody was such an alpha male! They had so much chemistry between them and it was great to read about. Also, it wasn’t all sex which I loved. They were friends and got to know each other. Which I loved because I need something else than just sex in my romance.

I really enjoyed this and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Really Enjoyed!

4.5 Stars

I really enjoyed this book! This is the story of Tabitha and Brody and it is definitely an OTT insta love romance. Both characters were really entertaining. Tabitha was strong, loveable and genuine and wasn’t afraid to stand up to Brody. Brody is the big bad doctor of the hospital and is intrigued by Tabitha’s feistiness, plus he is deeply attracted to her. I loved Brody’s OTT alpha and caveman tendencies, he wasn’t afraid to show everyone Tabitha was his woman. He was definitely swoon worthy! Their chemistry is off the charts and the sex scenes are so hot!
Safety
Tabitha’s sister is marrying her ex and he causes some minor drama. Brody thinks about past women he has been with in a general way a few times and it is not clear if he is a player or not, just that he has had past lovers. They do not discuss past sexual behaviour and there is no birth control used!
I really did like Tory Baker’s writing style and will definitely read more from her.

So I have a weaknes (or fetish) for doctors just because my Prince Charming is one. This means that no matter how much the story is bad, or short , or boring - I will still enjoy it. Fortunately this one was also good :)

Tabitha and Brody were cute together even if they relationship did not stared convenient. I loved how Brody was protective over his woman and was not afraid to show it. Handsome caveman.

This novella made me put the author on my list to read between longer reads. Tory, thank you for this little treasure.

Great story.
Tabitha receives a call from her sister, Hillary, who tells her she's getting married to Tabitha's ex high school boyfriend and she wants her to be her maid of honor. Then she, drops the bomb, is also pregnant and their mother doesn't know. Hillary also asks Tabitha about a plus one date for the wedding. Hillary tells Tabitha how her mother and Aunt Harry don't have a boyfriend. Tabitha blurts out that she has a been dating someone and she really likes him then tells Hillary he's a Doctor.
Hillary tells her she has to bring him to the wedding. Tabitha says she'll have to have him check his schedule. But Tabitha isn't dating anybody...especially the Doctor she works with. The one she has secret fantasies late at night about.
Dr. Brody Miner is the chief of surgery. He's arrogant and the one thing that matters is he's the one you want for your surgical procedure. But then he is demanding perfection at all times.
Tabitha is setting up for a procedure and her thoughts are on her dreams about him. When she is startled by him, Dr. Miner, when he barks at her, jolting her out of her thoughts and turns around quickly and slices through his scrubs with the scalpel she just unwrapped. She looks up and notices the blood and apologizes instantly, stating she didn't realize he was so close.
Dr. Miner yells at her asking her if she's trying to kill him? He continues to tell her to go home he'd pull one of the nurses from the floor saying, "It's not as if the job is that hard." Of course setting off Tabitha again.
Well he's a perfect for an assh@le and a personality to go with it. She'll just tell her sister they broke up.
Until Hillary shows up at the hospital and Tabitha is in the middle of apologizing to Dr. Miner...

This has the perfect slapstick romance comedy. I loved reading it.

Looooorrddddddddddddddddddd <--- when you wanna smack someones mother it had to be Tabitha's.. this was a first time reading this author i gotta say i enjoyed the book.. it had some drama, some good moments characters i loved and wanted to smack.. lets talk about Tabitha... girl is do smart driven and sassy who gets some news from her sister (who she has a love/hate relationship with) that's she getting married to her high school ex Tab doesn't care its been ages since high school plus that dick just tossed her aside when she wanted more for her life.. her and Dr. BRODY lol at first it was a love/hate relationship since Brody didn't want anyone to know he had some crushy feelings for Tab.. so i got why he was kinda mean to her.. as for Brody.. he was protective, Stubborn, and witty i did laugh when he tried to find the perfect nickname for Tab.. also him joking around that Tab calls him daddy 😂😂😂😂 i love how he helped her out being her fake date.. then it turned into something real..

Breaking your own rules...
Your sister surprises you with an invitation to be her maid of honor at her impending wedding... to your ex-boyfriend! Messed up? You can say that again... especially when said sister shows up at your job wanting to meet your "fake boyfriend" and he just happens to be the chief of surgery who is arrogant, opinionated and hateful. Another "quickie" Romantic Comedy from Tory Baker which will have you both swooning over the hot Alpha doctor and rolling on the floor. 5 Non-Filtered Stars for "Doctor For Hire"... when an infatuation turns into something so much more!

Although this was a short story it was full of plot line or at least it was trying to be but really the story was lacking a little, a nurse with a horrid family needing a date to a wedding, stands up to an arrogant dr and takes him.

The sex scenes were detailed and hot yes which was good but lack of story can't be made up by a few good sex scenes.

Tabitha was a little weak character to begin with and this didn't disappear throughout and as much as I can relate to not wanting to upset your family there's got to be a point you stop and stand up for yourself hasn't there?

Dr arrogant we will call him, full of ego, attitude, spoke to people like crap because apparently he didn't need to treat them as people..got a taste of fiery spirit from Tabitha decided to do her a favour and....l can say the rest was predictable as much as I enjoy an easy read I do like a few twists and turns to keep me reading, this was a little mediocre because it was so predictable..

Would I re-read this? No. Would I recommend? Probably not. Would I have missed out if I hadn't have read it? No definitely not. I won't actively be looking for more short stories from this author.

This is an amazing book, something that cheered me up :D
I was really excited from the blurb but then there that feeling of the story being dragged or for it to go boring. Fortunately, this didn't happen and the story kept getting better.
It was something that was unexpected of the characters and it turn the plot to be so juicy.

Worth the read and I would recommend this book for anyone that love a good old possessive caveman :D

I’ll admit it - I’m a fan of sweet, smutty insta-love novellas, and Tory Baker is climbing to the top of my favorites list in that genre. She packed a steamy romance, endearing characters and some humor into a cute, fun story that I devoured in about an hour.

Wow, this was... just wow. I love fake relationship stories, but even this is a hard sell for me.

When Tabitha's sister tells her she's getting married in two months and wants her to be her maid of honor, she thinks that's bad news. When she finds out that the groom is Tabitha's high school boyfriend - who dumped her when she decided to go to college and get a job - her immediate reaction is to lie and say she'll bring her boyfriend as well. Her, well, imaginary boyfriend. When pressed on details, she ends up describing the hot - but arrogant - doctor that all the nurses have nicknamed Dr. Asshole. You can guess what happens from here...

When I found out that the doctor's actual nickname was Dr. Asshole, I probably should've just dropped the book there, but this was for a challenge, so I just kept going, because how bad could this get really? Oh, it's bad, oh so bad. Brody - Dr. Asshole - decides to play along with Tabitha's lie, and then, inexplicably, decides that she's "his". A good deal of that seems to be based on the fact that since she's a workaholic nurse, she'll understand that his job comes first, before their relationship. Cue a lot of caveman-like alphahole behavior, plus some dubious consent sex scenes that were more of the "put tab a in slot b" variety than actually sexy.

Tabitha's family is complete one-note trash, and Tabitha is basically a wet noodle with no agency of her own or a life outside work. How she manages to stand up to Brody - the initial "meet cute" that catches his attention - is a mystery to me. In the giant showdown with Tabitha's family, instead of helping Tabitha grow a backbone and stand up to them herself, Brody punches the groom's lights out and then carries her off. And, OF COURSE, she ends up pregnant and quits her job by the end of the novella. Besides that, every single woman other than Tabitha in the book is a gossip monger, greedy freeloader, or clingy marriage-minded nurse - or a combination of all of the above.

I did like two things. Brody's attempts to find a nickname Tabitha liked (Tabberoni - because she loves pepperoni pizza - was my favorite) were hilarious, and Tabitha's sister's ridiculous cooking was giggle (and gag)-inducing.

Overall, this was a bunch of toxic nonsense, and I simply cannot recommend it at all.

I'm not usually one for the shorter stories because they tend to seem too rushed for me. With that being said, I absolutely LOVED Doctor For Hire though it be a short(ish) story, because I didn't feel cheated at all, even with the insta love factor, so I'll try make this review shorter so I don't give too much away from this awesome goodness. It all started when Tabitha gets a call from her younger sister, who's getting married and wants her older sister in the wedding. And that wouldn't be so bad except Tabitha's sister is marrying her ex. So in order to save some face, Tabitha says she has a boyfriend, although in reality, a fake one. She describes Dr. Brody Miner, who she works for, and before she knows it, her sister comes for a visit, and Brody goes along with her lie, which starts a super sexy journey. I LOVED Brody and Tabitha together, as Brody was so good for Tabitha, who has some self esteem issues, so their interactions kept me laughing quite a bit. And their chemistry was HOT, which finally led to sexy times that lit the sheets on FIRE! Never once did this story feel rushed to me, and I can definitely say that I would love to keep reading about these two for days on end because Tory Baker's talented writing style is very addictive. Anyway, I've said more than I planned to so I'll just end this review by saying that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Tabitha Riley has been focusing her energy on her career and becoming a great nurse and receives flack from her family because of it. When her sister, Hilary, calls her to tell her that she is engaged to Tabitha's high school boyfriend, Robbie Stedman, she knows she needs a date to the wedding asap, even if it means creating a boyfriend.

Dr. Brody Miner is the Chief of Surgery and is surprised to hear that he is dating Tabitha and he knows that he isn't going to let this opportunity be wasted.

Can Brody prove to Tabitha that he is more than pretend?

This was a great book and I really enjoyed it!

I thought Tabitha was great and I hated her family! I loved that she was a good nurse and that she had goals that she wanted to accomplish and I was shocked that her family didn't approve.

Brody was initially a jerk but I loved how well he went along with everything! He had so much fun with it all and I was definitely impressed.

I thought the dinner Hilary cooked for Brody and Tabitha was awesome and I laughed my way through it for sure.

The wedding and festivities leading up to it was a shock for how badly Tabitha was treated by her family but I loved how Brody stuck up for her. I was so mad at everything that went down at the end with Robbie and how no one took Tabitha's side. I would have loved for everything to explode on the people that deserved it and not Tabitha.

The end was great with Brody and Tabitha!

Loved Brody and Tabitha

Tabitha's sister is getting married, to Tab's ex and high school sweetheart. The boy she dated for four years. Her first everything. The boy who dumped her when she told her her college plans. That was five years ago. Hilary wants her in the wedding. A little lie comes out about her dating one Dr Brody Miner. He is an arrogant, jerk, hot as hell, well respected surgeon, who works in Tab's department.
Dr Brody Miner, has taken notice of Nurse Tabitha Riley. He avoids her whenever he can. He is married to his career and she makes him think of other possibilities.
When Brody finds out about Tabitha's lie, he finds himself playing along. The time he spends with her makes him want more.
Sweet and steamy. Brody is a alpha-mellows when it comes to Tabby. Loved how he had her back with her family. A epilogue to wrap up their story.

**3.5 Blushes**

Tabitha Riley is a surgical nurse. A job she loves despite her family's critique that she has no life and no man.

Dr. Brody Miner is a brilliant surgeon, sexy as he'll but a bit of a jerk to subordinates.

Then the phone call comes! The one where Tabitha's little sister, Hillary, tells her she's getting married - to her "Tabby's" first love. The guy that popped her cherry and broke her heart.

Making up a story that she has a hot doctor boyfriend and then said Dr. McHottie decides to play along - that when things get interesting.

Though I do wish that we had gotten a blow by blown when they finally had sex!
Doctor for Hire is a quick, humorous, sexy read that will entertain.

i originally rated this 3 but i'm knocking down to 2. it wasn't completely awful, but the bad things outweighed the good for me. i laughed a couple of times, especially with the nicknames (not daddy, just the Tabitha ones). the writing was good though i didn't care for some of the words used during the sex scenes. it's a very short book so a lot happens and the drama is more than a little ridiculous, but eh. what really gets my goat though, at the end, when 'getting her pregnant wasn't that easy' and she was stressed over 'not getting pregnant' but 'finally it happened'..... as in, in the epilogue, one year later, she was 6 months pregnant. so it took them SIX MONTHS. 'finally'?! 'NOT THAT EASY?' ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW.
^ there is a chance i'm too sensitive about this topic, but still. WTF.

Received as an ARC for an honest review.

Tabitha really does not fit in with her family. When she finds out that her sister is marrying her ex from high school, she knows she needs a date to the wedding and fast. Tabitha tells her sister that Brody, the doctor from her work, is going to be her date. When Brody finds out that she needs him to go as her date, he goes along with it.

Things happen at the wedding and Tabitha thinks that their relationship is done now that the wedding is over. Brody has other ideas. These two were great together. The way he protected her when he needed and stood back to let her fight her own. Great read.

Such a sweet story!!!
Quick, but great... I would compare it to a quick story of Alexa Riley’s.
While on the phone with her sister, Tabitha lies and says she has a boyfriend who she has been seeing for a few months. Unfortunately for her, she names the hot, arrogant doctor in her hospital. Lol! Luckily for her, her sister visits her on a day when she has attracted Brody to her. Hagen her sister mentions something about him being her boyfriend, he plays along. He thinks he is lucky he was there and little does she know she isn’t getting away from him.
Awe!!!
Anyways, I highly recommend this book.

Super quick read. Easy to fall into and escape from life. Over the top alpha doctor has rules in place for a reason.

Brody Milner likes his life and doesn’t think anything is missing until he encounters Nurse Riley and her sassy mouth and even sexier body. Tabitha Riley’s career has always been her priority. So what if her little sister is doing all the things Tabitha should have done by now in her personal life. Tabitha has told the craziest lie to her family and now must fess up. Too bad Dr. Brody Miner is more of a jerk than a potential date.

Love the directness of this story and how quickly everything evolved. Doctor for Hire can easily be read in one sitting.

Read For Author:
This For Me is Tory's Best Book To date! I loved the emotion and feeling behind the story.
When Tabitha finds out her sister Hilary is getting married to Tabitha's high school sweetheart she tells her critical family she dating one of the most of bearing albeit sexy Doctors in the hospitals she works at.
Dr. Brody Miner likes order and doesn't mess around with the nurses at his hospital - he has always though Nurse Riley was hot but when her sister shows up and announces that he's her boyfriend. Well, he decides to run with it.
How will this turn out for them at the hospital and at the wedding it's a great read with humor and with real life issues.

This was cute until it turned into too much violence.

Belinda finds out that her sister is getting married to her ex boyfriend. She convinces sister that she's dating a really hunky chief of surgery... even though he's an a-hole who she's not dating. The situation becomes forced when the sister shows up by surprise at work and forces B and the doc into the fake relationship. He goes along because he's been into B for awhile.

This started out really cute until the Wedding when he gets all possessive and alpha and severely hurts the ex boyfriend. Too much punching and not enough common sense from the Doc.

Tory Baker’s Doctor for Hire is a quirky book about the shenanigans we can get ourselves into when dealing with siblings, exes and hot co-workers all at once. The main characters are so wild and crazy for each other. It is truly a whirlwind romance. It is a quick read with good flow and of course a happy ending.

I wish she had developed the story more before publishing because I’d like to know so much more about Tabitha and Brody's story.

I have already read it twice. Such a cute story.

ARC provided for an honest review and I’m blown away! I haven’t read any of Tory Baker’s other books, but I will definitely be reading more of her work in the future. This book reminded me a lot of Lauren Blakely, Penelope Ward, and Vi Keeland’s “romantic comedy” kind of novels. The characters in this book were easy to relate to, they were hilarious, and so hot! I could not put this book down! Thanks again for the ARC and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more or your work in the future! ❤️

Calling doctor smooth

Is there a doctor in the house ? Well there's a damn fine doctor in this book . His name is Brody . Brody happens to like a nurse called Tabitha , but he doesn't care the nurses where he works .
Tabitha is having a nightmare of a day , her Sister is marrying Tabithas ex . She is single but tells her family that she's dating Brody.
When Brody finds out this information he plays along. Oh he definitely want her, & she wants him . The protective alpha male comes out once he sees how Tabithas family treat her

Dr Brody head of surgeon and Nurse Tabitha Riley both had lusted secretly over each other. Tabitha’s younger sister Hillary was pregnant and will be marrying her ex Robbie. Tab lied to her that she was fine and already got a boyfriend. Hil came checking her at the hospital and saw Tab and Brody. Brody took the chance not correcting Hil about them being together. Their chemistry sparks and he saved jer from the chaos of the wedding. Robbie tried to kiss her and Brody punched him. Brody claimed her possessively and a year later she was 6-months pregnant. He then proposed to her.

Great read!

With Tabitha’s sister Hilary marrying her ex-boyfriend, she tells her she’s bringing her new boyfriend as her date, co-worker Dr. Brody Miner. The problem is Dr. Miner is arrogant, snappy & mean and definitely not even close to being anything more than a surgeon she works with. What happens when he surprisingly agrees to be her plus one? This was a great, short read about two people who didn’t realize they need each other. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
