Don’t miss the exciting conclusion of the Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence series, REIGN.

For one moment, Maxence had everything he wanted. The love of his life, Dree Clark, had said yes, Monaco was secure, and his future was clear and bright.

For just one moment.

Now, Maxence stares into the darkness of the barrel of an assault rifle hovering inches from his face, and he prays he can save Dree’s life.

“Run,” he tells her, but she won’t leave him.

Maxence thought he would REIGN in Monaco as the sovereign prince with Dree by his side, but now he’s fighting for both their lives.

Blair Babylon is the nom de plume of an award-winning, USA Today-bestselling author who used to publish literary fiction. Because professional reviews of her other fiction usually included the caveat that there was too much deviant sex and too much interesting plot, she decided to abandon all literary pretensions, let her freak flag fly, and write hot, sexy, erotic romance.

Author Blair Babylon is a master storyteller. Reign is the much awaited conclusion in Maxence Grimaldi's epic saga. Maxence is deeply damaged. Emotionally his scars run thick and deep. Since a small boy, he has hide his true self from everyone: his blood relatives and his brothers at arms, Casimir and Aurthur. Somehow, a sexy sprite of a woman named Dree Clark has edged up under his skin and flayed his heart open fully to her. She has his trust, love and devotion-- enough so that he asks her to be his wife. He truly cannot imagine another day in his life without her. Even still he continues to hide away the one aspect of his personality that he fears will scare her away from him forever. He is hiding his deepest needs. When Dree accidentally learns his dark secret, will she run? Or will she prove herself to be exactly the woman Maxence needs more than anything to repair his damaged soul.

I have been waiting for Maxence's story to be told for years. He has intrigued me since the first line he was introduced to us in the Billionaires in Disguise series. Maxence's entire series was exactly what I hoped for and Reign couldn't have been a more perfect ending. The entire series is absolutely "must read"!

Reign is a truly perfect resolution for Maxence and Dree. It is the only logical and emotional and heartfelt outcome that this inexplicably stunning and beautifully determined couple deserves. They are the most giving duet who are truly in sync with the pulse of the people. Therefore, it only makes sense that the people should see it, grab onto that heart and promise of a better future, and never let go. What a stunning adventure that is sure to leave you wanting more!

Nothing is easy for Max and Dree. They truly have to fight tooth and nail for every inch of ground the conquer. Even with royal blood in his veins, Max is not just handed anything. He is made to fight for each hard won triumph. This perseverance helps to guide them through more then one struggle that lies before them. Will all of their hard work pay off, or will their dreams come tumbling down around their ears?

Dree and Max have to fight their battle on many fronts which is completely exhausting, but it shows them that they win any battle if they fight together. I love their complete devotion to the other, and what a treasure to see them happily and painstakingly guide each other out of the small holes they fall into and show them that no one is perfect in everything. The valuable and beautiful lessons learned made my heart melt each and every time.

Blair Babylon is a beautiful genius! Her stories are invaluable and entertaining because they reflect real life. She knows how hard life can be, and when you find even a glimmer of true love, you have to grab on tight with both hands and never let go.

All good things must unfortunately end and this is the case with Maxence's story and what an end it was. Even though I did not want this series to end, I was so happy that Max got his HEA despite all of the bumps in the road and I was so happy that in the end, Arthur and Cas was by his side like Max was by theirs.

This last book was drama packed but tied up all of the loose ends that were part of Dree and Max's story. I was hooked and wanted to know what happened next while I continued to root for this pair. I just wish that we got a little bit more of a picture of Max and Dree in the future or maybe we can hope for a catch up on this trio of friends in the future - one can wish. This last book did however open up the possibilities of another series on the horizon with a new set of characters that we briefly met throughout this series.

Overall, this was a great read that I was sorry had to come to an end. I would recommend this book as well as this series to others.

An actual good end to a series. It pulls together the rest of the guys from Le Rosay (Wolfram, Casimir, and Arthur) with their wives and children. The final additional shooting was not as necessary, though I loved that Dree wanted a First Aid Tent right there and ordered extra epi-pens because of all the flowers at the wedding.
One thing I did learn from the Billionaires series is do NOT send your kids to the Le Rosay boarding school. The men all turn out BDSM and the women have some serious issues. I gather this is not the normal result at the most expensive boarding school in the world.
Babylon thanks Julia Kent. That makes sense as Julia Kent has some kinky contemporary romances also. By the way. I enjoyed these books more when I skipped all the sex scenes and the middle 3 books.

Others have said it, but it bears repeating. This is the perfect resolution for this couple. Truly.

Despite their backgrounds, they are perfect foils for each other. A love story to make you smile.

I would even go so far as to say that Max has almost become my fave, in place of a certain handsome bodyguard to a princess.... Its a very close run thing indeed.

My only quibble is that it is over.

This is the final book in the Maxence and Dree series. They quickly became one of my favorite couples in the Billionaires in Disguise series and when I started reading, I just could not stop reading until I was forced to because my kindle needed recharging.

There were so many twists and turns in this one, one surprise after another. I highly recommend this series. You won’t regret it.

REVIEW
Maxence and Dree have been through so much. Nothing at all was easy for these two. Dree is not some country bumpkin and she proves it big time in this story.
Monaco... What a nightmare ride this has been and Max finally has made up his mind but to get there may require someone's death.
Drama and action are intense but the relationship between Max and Bree is HOT!!
And throw in Arthur and Casimir for a bit of fun haha...
I have truly loved learning all about Max.

Warning, warning, warning...once you pick this book up, you will not want to put it down!
Reign is the conclusion to Max and Dree's story, and oh what a story it is!
Dree saves the day and Monaco once again using her country hick antics; it really couldn't get any funnier. And Max finally succumbs to the pressure he has managed to escape his entire life.
Attempted coups and assassinations are no match for this dynamic duo and their many friends from some of Blair Babylon's classics.
I read an ARC of Reign and willingly left this honest review.

As the story picks up, we find Maxence desperately trying to dissuade his cousin from her intended course of action – a self-serving plan with a callous disregard for the toll on the upper-crust of Monaco society. Leave it to Dree though – that plucky, American country girl, to take the traitor down a peg or two. Literally.

We gain a truer understanding of just how much Maxence’s conflicted past has impacted his ability to cope under extreme stress, and how his somewhat unorthodox coping process played a part in his meeting Dree in Paris. I admire Dree’s ability to connect the dots to see the whole picture, while also reserving judgement – particularly in matters pertaining to Maxence. As a couple, they certainly seemed to have more than their share of obstacles to overcome to find their HEA, but they eventually got there – and what an adventure it was!

I very much enjoyed the conclusion to this entertaining series. This story is well written with appealing characters, plenty of drama, angst, humour, and emotions, plus some suspense, and intrigue along with some violence. There are also several intense explicit encounters – a few of which feature elements of BDSM. I’m very much looking forward to the spinoff series featuring the ‘scholarship kids’ from Le Rosey. I received an Advance Reader Copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I wish I could give 10 stars!!!

Just when you think you know where the plot is going, MS Babylon inserts a traffic circle - and you have no clue what direction it'll take you. Always a delight to read an anxiously awaited Babylonian tome . She never disappoints. Zigs and zags have never been such fun. Sorry to see this series end, because it's just been so much pleasure. Bravo, Blair!

Edited 7/21/21 to add my comments on the audiobook:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5

Like book 4, Royal, I actually read this one with my eyes before listening to it. I loved reading it but hearing Lucy Rivers and Shane East perform the story brought a new appreciation for it.

A great conclusion to an epic romance!

This was such a good book! I hardly know where to start with my review. Max and Dree encounter new threats in this story – Blair doesn’t let her characters rest for a minute! 😊 But it isn’t all romantic suspense. This story has lots of hot, sexy times and humor to lighten things up when needed.

Things happened that I definitely didn’t see coming. Someone Max knew from the US shows up and causes Dree some concern. We learn things about both Max and Dree that surprised me a bit. We meet Dree’s family and they provided a lot of the humor in the story.

Some nasty characters get what they had coming to them and Max and Dree finally get their HEA. I love the last chapter when certain characters all get together.

I’m sorry to see this era of Blair’s Billionaire stories end. I knew that it couldn’t continue forever but I didn’t really expect to feel quite so sad once I finished this book. I was so happy for Dree and Max but I’m sad that it’s over. I know that Blair Babylon has more wonderful stories coming and I’m patiently (? 😊) waiting for what she comes up with next.

This is Reign, book 5 of the Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence written by Blair Babylon. Maxence and Dree have literally been through hell and are trying to claw their way out. I've never read anything with so many different attempts to kill or kidnap someone. Max is in line for the throne and there are many people that intend to prevent him from ever being awarded the throne. Blair Babylon has put us through the ringer with Max and Dree and now the end is in sight. You can't possibly imagine that Blair would let things go smoothly from now on! She has no clue how to do that. Her stories are full of mystery and intrigue. Secrets and half truths. Espionage and attempts to overthrow the governing authorities. Oh, and did I mention the super studly Alpha heroes and the strong women who can handle them? How can she possibly wrap all of the answers up into a pretty package? Well... you will never guess how! She will keep you in suspense and on the edge of your seat up until the very end! This is a series that I think you will want to read over and over, just like me!!

The final book in Max and Dree's story is epic. It is truly a page turner. These two have one obstacle after another, but they are so solid with each other. I loved how Dree reacted when she fully realized what was going on with Max. I really can't say enough about how amazing this book and series is. The writing is so good. It is so thought out and funny and romantic and well it's the best! If you haven't started this series yet start it now and if you have started don't miss the final book. I was given the opportunity to read a copy of this book

Finally! This one took a while to come through but through all the ups and downs and twists and turns Maxence and Dree finally get their happy ending! They did not have a smooth sail of it and had to travel through several continents and both were kidnapped and nearly killed more than once and had to survive a near coup. Dree proves she is not a country bumpkin and Max had to come to terms he was meant to be prince but above all these two were perfect for each other. This one left me with a big smile and all the feels. Loved the perfect ending!

Reign

This was the perfect ending to Maxence’s story and a hard fought for HEA! Drew’s family was a wonderful, funny addition as was the VERY surprising reception reveal. Again the story had old friends, old enemies and new heat and drama. I’m sad to see Ms Babylon’s Billionaire in Disguise series end, but the hint of new tales, revolving around the scholarship kids from Le Rosey is intriguing.

WOW!! Just Wow!! Early into receiving this book I sent this message to a fellow Babylon lover "I'm only 8% in and already my head is exploding with the brilliance of Reign. Reading it is a privilege". Even at the last chapter, the last paragraph, I really have only to say that I firmly stand behind this wonderfully scintillating and splendidly adventurous read. Also, I believe alot of readers are going to have difficulties(as I did) with only 5 stars, 5 stars are not enough :( .

Finally!!! The conclusion to Maxence's story - all the feels, all the drama, danger, angst and serious chemistry as he and Dree find their way through SO many ups and downs. There were times where I thought it would all fall apart around them, but these two were meant to be together... now, Blair Babylon has set us up for the next series... involving Twist and the other scholarship kids! Can't wait!!!

Audio Review: Reign (Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence, #5) by Blair Babylon, Narrated by Shane East and Lucy Rivers

Reign is an adventure of the heart that keeps the senses on edge. Max and Dree are as unpredictable as ever. Danger continues to shadow their chance at happiness.  Babylon keeps readers guessing until the last words are spoken. With the epic pairing of East and Rivers, there is no turning back.

This is the final book in the Maxence and Dree saga, and it ends with an intro to the next book—about Max’s friend from Le Rosey, Tristan “Twist.” I never thought I’d give one of Blair Babylon’s books anything below a 5-star rating, but this one just didn’t thrill me like the others. Partly, I think it’s because I had trouble understanding the whole Dominant masochist dynamic. More than that, though, is that I didn’t feel anything for Max or Dree. This made me feel like a voyeur observing an intimate (and to me, dysfunctional) relationship without having the necessary connection to the characters to do so without judgment.

Now, the first two books managed to tap into my emotions in regard to Dree and Max, but for some reason, this one left me feeling disconnected. In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that I respect Blair Babylon so much as an author, and if I didn’t want to find out what happened next, I’m not sure I would have finished reading this one.

I’m not going to go back to read to see if the style changed from one book to the next. I can only say that this time the writing was more clinical and less emotive. There were a few poetic descriptions, but these were limited to visual descriptions of people, and in that regard, there were many noteworthy ones. My favorite was the description of a woman named Mairearad: “She looked like she might be a monochrome picture of a white person except for her vibrant red lipstick. The effect was almost vampiric.” Emotional descriptions were less frequent and consisted mostly of feelings of losing oneself within the other person.

Conversations between Dree and Max were sweet and sometimes droll. There’s a Mel Brooks reference, where Max said, “It’s good to be the king,” as he lifted an eyebrow and grinned at Dree. That made me chuckle. Other conversations were heartfelt and earnest, and I believed that they loved one another.

There are the expected anti-fascist references to go along with a monarchy and Max’s desire to turn it into a democracy. Marie-Therese, Max’s cousin, attempted a coup, and Arthur, who is well-versed in these things, says: “Her primary mistake was walking in with them. Most dictators whip their supporters into a frenzy at an off-site location and then set them loose to do their dirty work. They don’t care what happens to the poor slobs who support them after they’ve used them. Dictators despise their followers and milk them for the power and money they can suck out of the masses.” Later, Max observes, albeit in his thoughts: “When treason is not punished and stopped in its tracks, it is only a dress rehearsal for a larger attempt at overthrowing the government.” These are the phrases that will stick with me most from this series and are worth sharing.

This is a good ending to the Maxence series. Maxence was an interesting character, and this book did a good job of wrapping up the stories of the mystery and his romance with Dree.

I will say that I prefer romances to have less kinky sex. Ever since 50 Shades of Grey was such a success, most romances feature at least some BDSM and some kinky scenes. This is true of most of Blair Babylon's books and series. This series seems to get a little kinkier and contain more BDSM with every book. Some of the kink in this one disturbed me, as it seemed extreme (biting, choking, and whipping your lover are too sadistic for my taste). I get that some people really enjoy that in romances, but I just don't find hurting your lover romantic. I still read Blair's books, because her writing/plots are very good -- but I wish more romances would feature love scenes that do not contain BDSM or a lot of kink.

I am glad I waited until all the Maxence books were out to start this series -- because I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I won't give spoilers, but I was really glad that the people responsible for all the bad things that happened in this series were caught/punished.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

OMG! This book was everything you could want in a book. It had - Steam galore. Suspense you can't miss. Finding traitors within your own family. Good friends you can't live without.

Finding the love of your life, in a bar, in Paris...sounds unlikely, but when you're both in the right place at the right time, lightening only needs to strike once.

Dree has thugs coming after her. She and Max both think they are in the clear, but while in New Mexico, some Russian thugs try to snatch her away. Max, Sir Galihad that he is, fought to rescue her.

Max's own uncle and cousin, traitors? Jules and Marie-Therse were bribing, theartening and even killing, to get to the throne. Drug trafficking was another side, distributing drugs to the citizens of Monaco.

Max has determined that the thorne is corrupt...those who seek the throne, seek it for the wrong reasons. It will not happen again, EVER!!!

Arthur and Casimer...BFF's You can't live without those that have been there for you, your whole life. They were always more brother than Pierre ever was.

Reign, book 5 in the Maxence: Billionaires In Disguise series, has been so good and I sorta wish it wasn't ending. But so happy that the ending was so wonderfully written.'

Blair Babylon did an amazing job with writing this story, and Shane East and Lucy Rivers in their reading/telling of the story. I so wish I had the option of infinite stars, but alas, I'm only allowed 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Maxence has been through a lot from the time he was small until this moment. He's always lived with a threat over his head, always known that it's one of the many reasons he never wanted to be Monaco's sovereign, always wanted to be able to give back to others, to make his life count, and always knew he'd spend his life running. The many scars he carries in his heart and on his flesh were something he made himself live with because he knew he had a way of getting through to people, a talent, a gift if you will. But he never saw Dree Clark coming, and when she bowled through his scars and the walls he'd extended around his heart, he knew he'd never escape her. Still, there would be many hurdles to get over, and the threats to his life now extended to her. Will his fears for her safety push her away for good? Or will her strength and love for him be enough to stand up to his demons beside him?

I was so excited for this final chapter of Maxence's story to come out. It took me a while to find the time to read it, but I was not disappointed by the wait. It was such an exciting conclusion to his chapter in the Billionaires in Disguise series. It took everything in me to put it down so I could work and rest, and it measured up to what I have come to expect from this author. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I fall in love with each of these characters as she writes them. I'm looking forward to reading what she writes next.

What a satisfying way to conclude Maxence Grimaldi and Dree Clarke's story! Everything comes together so well in this final piece of the puzzle for the Prince of Monaco and his American nurse. Picking up within seconds of the previous book, Maxence's magnetic presence is put to the test and Dree's tenacity and creativity too!

With military coup about to happen, a drug dealer still unaccounted, what more can be thrown on top of Maxence and Dree as they try to plan their forever? And the revelations Dree realizes as she pieces together the scattered facts about Maxence's back piece throughout where so unexpected. And of course there is fun with a good balance of levity thrown in by way of Maxence meeting the Clark family and the recognition by Dree of Arthur and Caz's wives. I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.

Max and Dre Love

This is book 5 in the series and you really need to read it from the beginning. It starts off right where book 4 leaves off. They are being held at gun point and Max is trying to buy time for free to get away or hide. But of she doesn’t she manages to text Rogue security what is going on and helps While Max is buying time. Once all the traders and gun men are captured they vote again and Max is made Prince of Monaco. Now the fun begins as the two plan for his enthronement and wedding. But Max has a secret and Kir Sokolov was still trying to kill her . There was some fun part of meeting her family and reunion of Wulfram, Xan, Casimir,Aurthar, Rox and Gen. of course it great when the girls remember how they met. Loved how the book wrapped up all the loos ends. Sad to see the story end but love the way it ended . Amazing story worth every penny.

Captivating series

I can’t really review one book because the series needs each book. Start at the beginning of the series with Rogue. It’s a fascinating story complete with political intrigue, emotional growth and trauma, religious politics, travel, self discoveries by the characters, friendship, loyalty, in-depth psychological reasoning for behaviors, and graphic sex, but so much emotion you’ll love Maxence and Andrea. Max has an incredible heart but he is a tortured sole from trauma. Andrea was hurt by her ex boyfriend and lacks worldly knowledge but is an incredible nurse practitioner with a great deal of medical knowledge. Together through the series they grow to trust and learn about each other growing and helping each other through their anxieties. The stories were a roller coaster of emotions and a great ride!

Tall, dark, handsome - Maxence

Did you ever first meet someone and have an instant liking and knew you had to get to know them? When we first meet Max in Casimir’s story, I knew Arthur and Max would be like that. Max has that broody, sexiness we love. On top of that we can say Max has strength and devotion. Strength of character, body, mind and soul. In the beginning we meet Max’s devotion to God and wanting to serve the world as a priest. You see his continued devotion to helping people, his family, friends, and eventually to Dree.

So very sorry this had to end, but what an amazing tale! Maxence and Dree seem so perfect for each other - Maxence has a side to him that Dree hasn't understood until she meets someone who inadvertently reveals some things about Maxence that finally make sense to Dree. I did find Dree a tiny bit naive, and so it wasa bit difficult for me to relate to her, but loved all the action - neverending twists, conniving cousins, dependable & always ready to help friends, nasty enemies, loving parents, and beautiful imagery. Once started, didn't put it down until the last page was read.

Ok. So someone has been elected as the next in line. Maxence has been called to take holy orders from the Pope. And Maxence’s introduction to Bree’s parents is one of the ages! Where do we go from here? Well, as Blair is a master story teller, you will get immediately wrapped up and hoping and wishing for a hard-earned HEA. And boy do they get it!
