Very unique story with many original ideas. It was such a breath of fresh air. I love my time-traveling stories, but this one had particular twist that made it ten times better than another typical time-travel. This fic also dealt with squibs' rights, not something you see often. Writing style was great and convincing.
If you're for romance, you'd be disappointed, romantic relationship was definitely not the main point here, just another plotline. I'd categorize this fic as gen with m/m relationship, kinda like Evitative in this regard.

I've read it for like a week. Not rushing just taking in the world. Harry Aberforth's AU was very warm and comforting.

I have gotten through a lot of fanfic in my time. Famously, between books 4 and 7, if I were to put all the fanfic I read into book form, it'd take up about 16 copies of each of Rowling's originals.

Much of it is dross, and much I enjoy for reasons most wouldn't.

This, though? This is strong stuff. This is pretty different. it has an epilogue that's well done, too. Can't say that about Canon, can ya?

This story starts at the opening of Harry's 5th year, but he is immediately transported back in time to the 1970's. Terrified of any impact he might have on the timeline he tries to lie low and let things play out as they should. So we lose familiar characters (some of whom aren't born yet, and some of whom he's actively avoiding), and Harry ends up heading down a new road to the old path of fighting Voldemort.

I won't spoil it. It's got some graphic violence and sexual scenes. There's conflict and combat and worry. But it had an authenticity to it I rarely come across in fanfiction. For all that the characters are mostly Rowling, they felt like they'd be worked on and changed, too.

If this author isn't published in their own right, they need to be.

Sweet, well-written, if not always logical. On the other hand, overpowered overly wise protagonists are a plague, so him being a mix of brave and stupid kinda tracks, honestly. Things are occasionally too handwavy/fanfic-logic, but honestly, good stuff. A rare commitment to actually letting some OC/central characters die with real consequences, but without making it a murderfest.

Heartwarming and deep-delving. It made me cry. The relationship wasn’t really compelling, but it was very background and not at all the takeaway.
