Haunted by a vile family secret, Highlander Quinn Catherwood has led a dangerous, covert life for a decade. Until he encounters the vivacious and captivating Skye Hendron, he’d never considered marriage. Now, however, he’s contemplating accepting his inheritance and putting aside his wanderlust ways. Except…his best friend Liam is Skye’s guardian, and because of Quinn’s shadowy past, he forbids him to court her. Sent to the Highlands to live with her Scottish cousins, when her father is taken ill Englishwoman Skye Hendron is completely out of her element. When a frequent house guest of her guardian’s arrives for an extended visit, she cannot deny the dashing and mysterious Quinn Catherwood makes her heart flutter in a most unmaidenly way. The pair rapidly fall in love but events conspire to separate them Another well written enthralling read from the author, it could be read on its own however if like me you love series then I’d recommend reading in order as characters from other books do make appearances. I loved Quinn who was honourable & tried & succeeded in being a much better man than his father & grandfather, both Quinn & Skye fell hard & fast for each other but he was so respectful of her & abided by Liam’s wishes. Skye was a strong woman who had a lot to deal with but looked for the positive. The person I was a little disappointed with was Liam as he surely knew Quinn well enough to have realised he was worthy of Skye. An engrossing read which I read in a sitting
A CHRISTMAS KISS FOR THE HIGHLANDER - COLLETTE CAMERON Collette Cameron always has humor, romance & fun characters & this short story had all of those things. Quinn Catherwood has turned his back on his family & inheritance after accidentally finding his father was earning gold by illegally smuggling & selling men, women & children into indentured servitude on the Continent. Skye Hendron is the daughter of a successful merchant, she adores her family & all the their family traditions. Quinn, while visiting his best friend, Liam meets Skye, who is Liam's cousin & she is staying with him & her aunt & they immediately experience a "love at first sight" moment. The problem is his past & her family may very well stand in the way of true love. However; in the end, love & saner heads prevail & they have their sweet HEA!
I seriously hate Christmas, especially in July. It’s so overdone in books, movies, and everywhere else that they can shove that soul-sapping, wallet-draining "holiday”. Honestly, this book would have been a hard pass for me had it not been the last book of the Heart of a Scot series. I had too much time and money invested into it not to finish it.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed this novella. It was a nice wrap up of the whole series with all the characters converging at Liam MacKay’s to celebrate a borderline banned holiday (read the author’s notes at the end), but with the extenuating circumstances, it was almost required.
Quinn has known Liam for a long time and comes and goes from Liam’s house at will. He’s friends with everyone there and is always welcome. On one of his unannounced visits, he encounters Skye, Liam’s cousin. She took his breath away.
Skye is just as taken with him, making this a classic love-at-first-sight trope. There was no real reason for them not to be together, but Liam was being obtuse and wouldn’t grant his permission for them to marry. At one point, Skye told him that he of all people should understand true love (not an exact quote) and I thought the same thing. I gave her a mental high-five for that.
This was a quick read that I did like, despite the heavy Christmas theme. The title said it all, so I can’t complain.
*Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone novel
Quinn Catherwwod, Estranged from his family for personal reasons, works secretly to help others. Liam MacKay, Baron Penderhaven, friend to Quinn for a long time and worked with him to until he married. His mother, sister, and wife his main priority now. Until Skye came for a visit and ended up staying. Miss Skye Hendron, cousin to Liam, was sent by her parents when her father become ill mysteriously. Now she just waits to hear when she can return home. Then gets the terrible news that both parents have passed due to the illness.
Quinn could not believe his eyes when he first met Skye. She captured his heart from the first moment. Skye was just as shocked he just fit her like a missing puzzle piece.
To have his other half Quinn must accept his past, deal with his estrangement, and get liam's, approval. This is easier said than done.
Skye asks for a Christmas celebration to ease the loss of her parents and to brighten her spirits.
Will Liam grant them their Christmas wish? What does Quinn have to accept from his past?
Join the first Christmas house party at Eytone Hall to ring on the season and celebrate the tradition of Jesus birth as Skye introduces them to joy and fun of 12th Night festivities. As they also try to convince Liam they are meant for each other. Such a poetic story.
This is a short heartwarming Christmas tale. There is an instant attraction between Quinn and Skye. Their courtship is romantic. Liam objects to the match, but Quinn is determined to take care of some problems from the past to convince him otherwise. A Christmas party is to be held to lift Skye’s spirits after the deaths of her parents. What better place to hope for a miracle? There are some familiar characters from the series and a couple of new ones. I loved Quinn’s grandmother. The story is a quick read with drama and humor in equal parts. Lovely story, wonderful characters, a good read.
If you want to get in a Christmasy mood the this book will do it for you. Quinn is a wanderer by the looks of it but really he is part of an organization to help people out of slavery. He has no time to settle down until he meets Skye at his friends home. Skye is immediately taken with Quinn. Due to some unfortunate events including her guardians refusals of marriage between her and Quinn things seem bleak. But a Yuletide celebration may be just what is needed to make their wish come true.
Sweet and simple story of two finding love at first sight. Something draws them together and it wasn't lust which was nice. They get to know each other and nothing was going to keep them from being together. Well, except her cousin who is best friends with the H. The problem is he knows all the past history of the H and doesn't want him near his cousin.
This has some sadness but mostly filled with friends and family for Christmas. This is a clean story with only a few kisses. No cheating, no cliffhanger, no villains, HEA, some romance and clean. (ljb)
I loved this Christmas romance. I enjoyed Skye and Quinn's story. Even though it can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend the series. This author is a master of building worlds and weaving complexity into her characters.
I always love a Christmas romance . A highlander named Quinn and an English lass named Skye, with Christmas traditions and a protective guardian. Can Christmas spread a little cheer.
A Christmas Kiss for the Highlander Collette Cameron "A long, intense minute stretched out, lengthening into something extraordinary and potent as they started at each other, neither seeming able to break the inexplicable and immediate powerful connection which thrummed between them." Heavy, heavy sigh. The first time Quinn laid eyes on Skye Hendron. Did she feel it too? Quin knew at that moment she would be his. Oh yes, this story only got better. Love at first sight between two people meeting by fate. Quinn was visiting his friend, Liam MacKay, one who had been a true friend to him. A story of a love beyond measure and the journey to be together. But as a tragedy struck, also a yearning for Christmas traditions and a love beyond compare. Simply wonderful! (No codswallop or numby claptrap here! You just have to love Collette and her words!!)
This another wonderfully crafted addition to this amazing series. All the characters both old and new are brilliantly portrayed in this story that will keep you captivated from start to finish.
This is a lovely little Christmas story. Love at first site it's them both. Tragedy its tryst to pull them apart. A little Christmas magic puts them all back together .
It was a cute story, I felt a little bit lost because I haven`t read the books for the other characters, but nothing that impacted my experience greatly.
Loved this story of Skye and her brau Scotsman Quinn! It has a great storyline about overcoming past behaviors and tragedy. Heartfelt writing and relatable characters. R. K. C.
A cute Christmas time story Quinn- he doesn't like his paternal side of the family so he refused his interference. He likes to visit with Liam Skye- cousin of Liam(bk4) she is staying there until her family heals from a sickness I enjoyed reading this captivating story that ends during Christmas. Their story has a loving hea. Ama

An Absolutely Wonderful Story.A short but sweet Clean Story.
Do you believe in Love at first sight? As for the Characters in this Wonderful Story, Quinn & Skye both felt this extraordinary attraction to each other. I am unsure if I believe in Love at first sight. But I sure love reading about it.
A lovely story about love at first sight and overcoming the societal dictates of the time. Ms. Cameron has a way of bringing you into her world and whisking you away in the bromance of it all.
