Prequel setting the stage!
This is a quick little prequel to the Thorns Duet which just sets the stage for the next book. The heroine Naomi, is a Wealthy Japanese American college student who is on the cheerleading squad because her mother wants her to make friends, and her mother worked hard to bring her up without a father so she is a cheerleader even though she hates most of the girls on the squad.
The leader of the squad is Reina Ellis (from the Lies & Truths duet) and this takes place just before that book starts. Reina likes to have her inner circle (including the football players) take on dares that she hands out and this time she dares Sebastian Weaver, the star quarterback.
This book was good, but I am sure the highlights of the story will re-appear in Red Thorns so it is probably not necessary to read this one first.

ღ. I was pumped to read this book! No drawn-out story only 2 1/2 books
Book 0.5 was the introduction to the thorns series and I loved everything about it. I loved Naomi and Sebastian
I like enemies to lovers’ stories. I don’t mind a defective character. Making a pact among a group of friends to use and conquer girls… A bet or dare , whatever you want call it, turned into a disaster. Or does it? Only time will tell

The truth is that if you have already read "Lies and truths" duet, you have already took a glimpse by Sebastian and Naomi and to be totally honest here, I was waiting the time that Rina will give us more about them, since the glimpses in there was piquing up your interest.
And the time has come to finally meet them and I'm so excited for their turn...
A feisty girl with a rebellious streak who you would never thought that would be a cheerleader...
A dominant boy who has a heavy load on his shoulder, even though in front of the others he apprears to be anything but easygoing...
How these two will come together???
You just have to wait and see, but be prepared cause I'm sure that their story will be epic!!!
Rina is always managing to build complicated stories with many twists and in here with just a prologue and three chapters in, she managed to introduce our two main heroes and to built already the mystery!!!
Honestly, I'm feeling that she just gave me a cookie and when I took one delicious bite, she just took it back!!!

Idk why I forgot to read the prequel… but here we are HAHAHAHHA it was a good prologue and honestly, I am happy that I read the duet first. Idk, but now the hints in this book make a lot of sense after finishing the series and some of the plot twists/ interesting plot points were visible here, as well 🫣

This prequel is a scorching hot prelude to what’s to come. Ms Kent whets our appetite in just a few chapters, I can’t wait to read this story.
I can already tell Naomi is going to be one fierce heroine, bearing Rina trademark, in the same way as Sebastian is a real tough nut to crack. I’m sure this duo will burn the pages and set me on fire. I can already glimpse a veil of mystery which prepares me for the usual unexpected turns this author is so good at delivering. So many seeds scattered around to entice and tempt me, such a giddy experience.
I constantly have this feeling that everyone is out to get me, and the star quarterback is no exception

Прийшов час познайомитись і з цією історією та її героями. Я не дуже люблю троп «парі», і якщо чесно перше що спадає на думку про нього це книги «Після» Анни Тод🙃
Але сподіваюсь, що Ріна опише все круто і я не зможу відірватись.
В попередній серії «дует правди та брехні» були герої з цієї книги Себастьян і Наомі. Головна героїня мені сподобалась там в другорядній ролі, вона могла за себе постояти і не боялася нікого. А ось про Себастьяна поки що нічого сказати неможу він «темна конячка».
Тому поринаю назад у всесвіт Ріни Кент🖤🔥

Rina’s most twisted, depraved, and psychologically complicated series to date. Naomi is my favorite Rina heroine of all time- and her relationship with Sebastian is so deliciously unusual. This prequel novella gives you just a taste of what’s to come- a story wildly consuming and emotionally trying. Snatch it up to read the first few chapters before book 1 arrives in June!

June 10, 2022Not going to rate this book as it's just an introduction to Sebastian and Naomi (whom we saw in Lies & Truth duet). You can actually totally skip this book as the exact same content is in Red Thorns (the first book of the series).
I actually like that Naomi is an Asian girl so at least there's some representation instead of constant white men and women. So I do have some expectations for this duet.
Day 10282929 of getting cheated about the next book to read because I thought it would be a dark stalker romance (according to the end of All the Truths) but I don't even know what am I reading anymore, blind reads indeed.

Naomi Chester is a college student who also happens to be a cheerleader. Something she is doing only to appease her mother, seeing as she hates it altogether and would rather just quit. She definitely seems like a fierce, sassy and strong heroine, not taking any bullsh*t from her fellow teammates and always willing to give it back to them.
Sebastian Weaver, the grandson of a senator is the popular jock, with being the quarterback of his college football team. He is strong, tough, broody but also mysterious.
This prequel Yellow Thorns by Rina Kent gives us a little sneak peek inside to Naomi and Sebastian and also Naomi’s mysterious pen pal Akira. Preparing us for what’s to come in Red Thorns.
Not much is said or given away about our Anti hero and heroine within the prequel. Just enough to give us an idea of who they are, their lives and what is soon to come. Especially with that cliffhanger ending that lets us know all hell will being breaking loose with lots of drama, tension, mystery and suspense coming soon.
Even though I have a pretty good idea of what will happen and go down with the bet in Red Thorns, seeing as it's not the most original idea. Having been played out before. I will say I am more excited and intrigued with finding out Akira and the mystery surrounding him.
With that said, I look forward to reading the Thorns Duet by Rina Kent.
