How do you solve a murder when the only witness is already dead?
A failed engagement forces 43-year-old Lindsey Dell back to her hometown, and back to her best friend, Cameron, one of the area's top real estate agents. With her help, Lindsey's interior design business is thriving in no time. And when Lindsey starts seeing spirits, she's able to return the favor, clearing ghosts from haunted houses to make them easier for Cameron to sell.
Aided by her new friend, Rod, and her black cat, Jasmine, Lindsey makes the most of the growing paranormal activity in small-town Sparrowford. That changes when a ghost makes it clear she's the victim of foul play...and the murderer is still out there.
This book hooked me from the very first page, and it kept me up well past my bedtime because I needed to know what happened next. Lindsey is a slightly ditzy, marginally jaded and totally endearing interior designer with a unique talent. Her visit to the Monrose House uncovers more than meets the eye, leading her down a potentially deadly path. The author delivered every element that was necessary for this story: a loveable heroine, a well-rounded and relatable cast of supporting characters, a host of potential villains to keep you guessing, and an action-packed sequence of events that lead up to the big reveal. And there's even a twist on the surprise ending. In short, this was a superbly written murder mystery that blends seamlessly with a supernatural element, and a definite must-read for any fan of spooky cozy mysteries.
Starting over in her hometown gives Lindsay Dell little time to reflect on her cheating ex-fiance. Though her current interior design jobs are not as prestigious as before, she's re-making her life and livelihood. Her talent for communicating with the dead is her forte, but this time, the ghost has a beef with her plans.
I appreciated the intricacy of the plotting that went into this story. Lindsay is a sympathetic character, and I bonded with her effortlessly. Though a neat bow on the mystery would have been preferable, the story concluded satisfactorily. I looked forward to more adventures with Lindsay.
Fantastic cozy! Interior designer Lindsey comes back to her hometown to help out best friends real estate agent Carmen. Everything is going swimmingly until Lindsey starts seeing the ghosts that are haunting the homes Carmen is trying to sell.
What a delightful friendship! This story is witty, well thought out, and has a hint of possible romance up the road. Five delightful stars.
DNF The first 25% of the book was rehashing earlier events that happened to the MC, but as this is the first book in the series, it’s basically just dumping a backstory with no context. Once I got past that, I tried to give it a try but this is just not very well written, despite an excellent premise.
Lindsey is a designer, but ever since she became a medium she clears ghosts from homes for sale more than she gets to do any designing. The ghost she draws out was murdered in her home and Lindsey with the help of her cat, Jasmine, are trying to solve the mystery so she can help the ghost move on. Light cozy mystery with a touch of paranormal.
This was a different sort of book, at least for me. One always hears about ghost chasers and people intent on proving they exist. However, this was written well and was a good story, good enough for me to recommend.

I loved this paranormal cozy mystery. It really resonated with me. The main character is lovable and very real. She has a lot of the problems with relationships most of us have at one point or another. I hope the author writes more books with these characters and town. I recommend this book to everyone.
Lindsey Dell is starting her life over in her hometown as an interior designer. Unfortunately, most of her jobs recently involve communicating with the dead, and some of them really don’t like her designs.
I enjoyed the characters and the way the author got the most recent ghost to interact with her by making her angry. Probably not the smartest move, but it worked. And the ending was satisfying.
A cute paranormal cozy with ghosts, family secrets, and getting your life together even when you’re in your forties.
Honestly I rounded up because the basics of the book were fine, but the characters were not explained at all. Names and vague issues were tossed off with no real explanation and I found myself lost and unengaged in the actual haunting/mystery.
Still, the overall style was entertaining and I’d give the series one more chance.
I received a free copy from voracious readers with no strings attached. My opinion is my own.
Enjoyed the story, in fact read the 1st half without putting it down. Then the author disappointed me. The story becomes confusing, especially the last third. Yes, you want people guessing on who the villain is but it was so confusing in the end and rushed. Use the epilog to explain what you couldn't realistically work into the story next time.
It was ok. Though it read like half a book, half a story. I often felt like I'd missed a step or two or whole milestones... starting with the very beginning when I actually went to check that I hadn't grabbed book 2 or 3 by mistake. all in all it was quite convoluted, full of plot holes very confusing
This book caught my interest from the very beginning and kept it throughout. The story was well written, and the characters were memorable. I received this book through a cozy mystery promotion, and I will be reading more of this series. Recommend.
When a book is hard to follow, an editor was missing in action. There were a lot of questionable areas that could have been better explained, or presented. Even the ending was sloppy.
Fairly quick to read cozy. There were a lot of interesting characters that rotated through the read. This actually made it more difficult to understand. I won't be looking to read more in this series.
