Discovering his past will change everyone's future.
Painter Mann may be the world's greatest dead private detective but that doesn't mean he's any good at it. In fact, he really isn't.
So, finally, he decides to get smart. Or, at least, smarter.
Painter is trailing retired Irish detective Ellie Walsh, who is helping out a cop in suburban Atlanta. She and Det. Paul Barnes are racing against time to find out who is behind a series of killings that seem to have no real pattern.
But they'll have to find the link if they have any hopes in saving the next person on the killer's list.
Initially, Painter is following along to learn the craft of detective work. Just observing.
But soon it becomes clear, very clear, that this case is personal to Painter Mann.
And one that could, once and for all, unlock the secret of who he was before he died.
Dick Wybrow is a Canadian author. His novels are mainly set in the US, where he grew up. A former stand-up comedian, Wybrow is a humor writer who crafts thrillers that incorporate elements of suspense, horror, mystery, science fiction and fantasy.
At the age of six, Dick was given his first book by his father. It was Wind in the Willows. Naturally, that put Dick off reading for several years.
After discovering Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, the love of reading returned. And with it came the compulsion to get lost worlds like Douglas had created.
Dick lives in Auckland, New Zealand with one wife and two cats.
Past Life By Dick Wybrow Book #6 in the series and I think this is one of my very favorite ones! So much goes on! Besides the main story moving forward with great leaps, the complex story line has a few small stories tucked in it! Love how it flowed together. I love the humor in these books but this book had me smiling a lot more than usual. Smart humor! Recommend this series, start at book #1, for all readers of fantasy, ghost novels, and paranormal adventures.
I quite enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I was curious how this third title in the series would go. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this book. Not that it isn’t written well, because it really is. But it seemed to me that we were focusing too much on two other characters that weren’t really involved in the story. Boy, was I wrong! We learn so much in this book, and it changes some pieces of the puzzle. At the end, I was completely blown away, and now I really want the next one to see where this author is going next. This was a great addition to the series! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
What an imagination! Splendid reading with that follow the bread crumbs vibe. Loving the referencing of times gone by. Perry Mason, Ozzy Osbourne just little tidbits to force a memory. Loving the old Irish retired cop what a loveable character. Hoping its not the last I see of her. I'm sure the next in this series is just as good as the first so off I go😁
Really enjoying this journey. The characters are fun, crazy, believable and a bit sad. I came to bed early tonight so I could finish this book. Now I can't wait to start the next in this series. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a bit of light hearted fantasy. Without a lot of violence, but with a mission to set the world right. Poor Lonnie!
Yhe sixth installment of Hell Inc. picks up the torch carried by the first five and continues. Humor and unlikely scenarios continue for the series' hero.
