It is rare to find a book which can catapult you into the experience of a character as deftly as Trevor Barton does in Making Contact. This book gave me a new perspective on a familiar sight; a dishevelled man is hunched on the ground and is barely seen by passers-by. We have all seen this scene before, but I expect very few people may give the person themselves more than a cursory thought.
