Everything in this book was ugly -- the H was too unjust, and unforgiving; the h was too much of a hothouse flower as regards her career; the chemistry between the two characters wasn't realistic largely because the H was such a stony jerk. Also, the way they slept together for the first time was really awful and sleazy. She should have remained in her career.

This is one that needs a healing revisionist epilogue, but the H makes me want to go into Irish Warrior Queen mode and cut off his head with an axe, so I'm not in the right place.

I love it when I find a better-than-expected romance to spend a few hours with on a rainy afternoon, especially when it seems like I have nothing new to read in the house. But what can I say? Sometimes I miss the arrogant 80's style hero from category romance. In this story, I really liked the heroine, Claire, as the singer who wasn't sure she wanted the bright lights of stardom. She finds she's much more at home with the charming, arrogant laird of a modern-day Scottish castle Roddy Mackenzie. I almost couldn't forgive him for the misunderstanding that kept them apart and thought he did deserve to do a bit more groveling in the end. But thank goodness for happy endings!

And it would have been a lovely place to be stranded--except for the presence of its unnerving young laird, Roddy Mackenzie!

An absolutely terrible, trashy book. None of it was quality. It’s one of those very bad books that you read on purpose because you know it’s bad and oh boy does it deliver! I bought it for $1 at a used book shop and finished it the same day. Features some staples of the bad romance genre, such as a horse back ride, a pub scene, and the most needlessly melodramatic “plot” I have ever read. Truly would not recommend to anyone and yet it was so bad it was good.
