There is a maddening truth that only parents know about the unsolicited advice we offer our children. No matter how many golden nuggets of wisdom you give them along the way, it seems to mystically pass through one ear and out the other, lost in their internal hard drive and often followed by the infamous eye roll. That is, of course, until they get the same advice from someone else. It could be a friend, teacher, relative, boss, whomever, and it's as if they have never heard it before. That thing you may have said a thousand times is now their new religion because of an experience they had or something they heard from another person. That was the catalyst for this book: creating a tangible reference of life lessons for my children, a culmination of the things I have shared (or wanted to share) while preventing someone else from stealing my glory.

As a parent of adult children - LOVED THIS BOOK! So much we learn through the journey of parenthood. I do think it has merit across the ages but in particular young adults could find some life lessons - great take aways. Thanks - a great read.

I loved this book about common sense life lessons. It is never too late in life to learn things. I love the lesson that says "How you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you." Encouraging people can have a lsting impact on them. Also " It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people that are happy".

'Common sense' is what most will say this book is filled with. Mostly just observational stuff from someone else who has been there (who confirms what you may have heard come out of someone else's mouth at some point) and done that. I would consider this a good book for a recent grad.

This book is short and to the point. Good advice for young people even in their 30's. I ended up giving a copy to my son and his fiance. Everyone could benefit from reading this little advice manual.

The author incorporates year's worth of wisdom in this short but highly insightful read. I will be getting this book for my nieces and nephew, and I highly recommend it to all teenagers and young adults.
