Trish Doller’s The Suite Spot is a charming romance novel about taking a chance on a new life and a new love.

Rachel Beck has hit a brick wall. She’s a single mom, still living at home and trying to keep a dying relationship alive. Aside from her daughter, the one bright light in Rachel’s life is her job as the night reservations manager at a luxury hotel in Miami Beach—unt

It’s Q&A time!

Q: What’s this romance about?
A: Rachel, a 28-year-old single mom from Miami, loses her job as a boutique hotel concierge and moves to a tiny Lake Erie island in Ohio to help a stranger open a brewery-themed glamping hotel. Naturally the stranger is a moody, handsome, sorta-available man with a past.

Q: Since The Suite Spot is noted as “Beck Sisters #2,” do you have to read “Beck Sisters #1” (Float Plan) first?
A: Nope! I have read Float Plan (and recommend it), but this is truly Rac

I’m afraid my experience with The Suite Spot was a touch more sour than I’d have liked.

I just finished this and, while it had some genuinely cute moments, to be honest with you I was just a little … bored. It felt a bit like being at a restaurant and anticipating a decadent dessert, only to have the waiter bring me a plate of saltines. *sad face* Not dissing those reliable little salty squares of goodness, but they don’t quite compare to sweet, yummy chocolate lava cake, right?

"The Suite Spot" by Trish Doller is Book #2 in the "Beck Sisters" series!

Rachel Beck is a single mom still living at home with her divorced mom. The best parts of her life is Maisie, her adorable daughter, and her job in hotel management at a high-end hotel in Miami, FL.

“When I’m with you, I remember what it feels like to be happy and anyone with eyes is bound to notice.”

I remember finding Rachel a bit obnoxious when she was first introduced from Anna's POV. Hence, frankly speaking, I never intended to continue this series as soon as I know her book is coming out.

Well, I guess this is where perspective comes to play because The Suite Spot helps me to understand Rachel better and it has been quite a delightful read despite a few heartbreaking moment

I had some concerns starting this read. Having finished the previous book, The Float Plan recently, and finding it well, underwhelming.

Knowing that the focus of this book would be on the other sister Rachel, it did little to squelch my trepidation. In The Float Plan, she came off as unlikeable and just mean?💁🏻‍♀️

But I needn’t have worried. In the end, I ended up loving and rooting for Rachel throughout.

Rachel was just fired from her night hotel-management job.

This is amazing!

I adored Anna and Keane’s adventurous, heart wrenching, second chance story on Float Plan! Trish Doller knows how to pull our heart strings by crafting genuine, tear jerker, angsty, emotional couple stories who deserve their second chances to catch their own happiness. As soon as I see the Beck Sisters definition, without looking at title and plot, I just clicked the request button on NG to wish I could get my arc copy!

I can honestly say: I loved this book more than the first i

Yes!

This is the follow up to 'Float Plan', which I really enjoyed, and where we first meet Rachel. She gave her sister a really hard time, in that book, so I was very curious to see what her story would be like…

Rachel is a single mom working in the hospitality business. Her daughter’s father, Brian, is immature and not much help to her. She still lives at home with her mother, but she’s getting by- until she loses her jo

What a lovely, touching and utterly enjoyable read this was! I truly needed Rachel and Mason in my fictional life right now!

When Rachel was described as having a bountiful figure, I stood up and cheered! When Mason confessed that he preferred a more voluptuous lover over a bony physique, I whooped and applauded. And that steamy scene in the woods!!! I'm still fanning myself!

We need more books like this one that celebrate the average woman in North America and our cultural diversity. Why should

This is Romance, and this is the second book in the Beck Sisters series. The first book in this series was Float Plan, and I have read and review that book. This book is not like the Float Plan, but this book follows the main character (Anna) of Float Plan sister (Rachel). I really loved Rachel's character. I was pulled into this book from the beginning, and I could not put it down. I loved this book so much. I loved the story line/plot of this book. The romance of this book is slow moving, but ...more

I have good news and bad news. The good news: this is a delightful read. I thoroughly enjoyed Rachel's story as she goes on her own adventure with her adorable little daughter Maisie. The bad news: we have run out of Beck sisters. Bummer! There is much to love about this second Beck Sisters book: the setting on Kelleys Island, a microbrewery with some really fun new brews, a cantankerous cat who falls in love with a precocious preschooler, and a super cute couple. I am ready to go out and try so ...more

Oh my gosh. Something really big happened about two weeks ago. I read Float Plan by Trish Doller, and it reignited my love for this genre. I’ve never stopped reading rom coms or contemporaries, but my TBR has definitely been more filled with emotional literary fiction and memoirs the past couple years. What a treat it was to read an emotional story (because Float Plan brought out all my emotions) and KNOW there would be a happily-ever-after. Not to mention the sense of adventure, the island hopp ...more

The Suite Spot by Trish Doller is the second book in the contemporary romance Beck Sisters series. As with a lot of romance series the main characters have changed from those in the first book of the Beck Sisters series so each of the books can be read as a standalone if choosing to do so. There are a few mentions of the first book’s character’s though for those that have followed from the beginning.

Rachel Beck feels like she has been stuck in her life and not really getting anywhere. Rachel is

After reading ‘Float Plan’ I was so curious about Anna’s sister Rachel and was excited to read her story. I really loved Rachel and Mason. And of course I loved Maysie. As much as I loved the characters separately, I never felt that chemistry/connection with them together. Even though I enjoyed the actual story a lot, unfortunately the romance was a bit lacking for me.

A solid romance, cute at times, with a single parent trope I adore.
In the end I didn't love it as much as Float Plan, which was remarkably different.

The Suite Spot got me rooting for Rachel, and had me hooked in the second half of the book, the time in the brewery with Mason. I enjoy a good remodel, and loved the tiny town feel of the island. Would have liked more of it.

Overall it was solid, but was missing a certain oomph to make it an outstanding story.

I was floored by the first book in this sister series, Float Plan about Anna. What I thought might be a sad book featuring a woman who loses her fiancé to suicide, instead became a story of a woman finding herself in the middle of her grief. So when the book about Anna's sister popped up in NetGalley I jumped at it.

This book centers around Rachel, a basically single mother living with her own Mother in Florida and enjoying her job at a swanky hotel. Once she is accused of accosting a millionaire

Fantastic read! I don’t read too many romantic contemporary but I should because I love how this book got me smiling often. I enjoyed following Rachel’s view. Her thoughts sounded real and relatable. I loved all of the characters in this book. The people on the island were so welcoming and nice. The diversity was great. Mason, 39, was an interesting character. The beer brewery was a nice touch. I haven’t read of it before so it was refreshing. Now I want to try some beers even though I don’t rea ...more

The Suite Spot is a winner. I love everything about this book. This is my first read by Miss Doller and I definitely looking forward her other book.
The characters are coming from multi race background. I love how Miss Doller mixing everything up and presenting her lovely romance story into the world.

Different from other romance authors, Miss Doller writes her story with much more realistic conversation and real life struggle. As a single mother who burned out from the world, body image and tra

Very, very bland.

If you're looking for a rosy romance with no chemistry, no squealy moments, no problems that require a Grand Gesture... you've come to the right place. I however, found this superficial and boring.

Every problem is minor and instantly resolved. The romance is easy, quick and reciprocated. Everyone has baggage but behaves like a person without baggage. And there is a whole town of insta-friends. Plus our heroine's preschooler is either coloring quietly in the background or being

Well, let’s just say that this “Hit the Spot!”

A sweet, endearing, funny, rom-com, with a few serious undertones, “The Suite Spot” delivered!

I, admittedly, had a few reservations going into this one. Kaceey and I recently listened to this author’s prior novel, The Float Plan as both books are part of a series (and we were given an arc of The Suite Spot) and sadly, The Float Plan left much to be desired. Luckily, I had nothing to worr

I preferred this one to "The Float Plan" - as both the romance itself and the main characters seemed more relatable - seems to be more believable that a single Mom would relocate for a better job & life than a grief-stricken woman would sail off 🤷🏻‍♀️, but I enjoyed them both a lot.
