I gave Hades a fake name at the club, and now, he's chosen me as his mate.
Once upon a myth... I've always been sheltered by my overprotective mother, hence the nickname given to me by my tormentors. “The nun.” As a geeky scholarship student at the ancient and prestigious Saint Eudora Academy, I craved freedom, so, I sneaked out into the nightlife for the first time to mend my broken heart. There, I met a pair of alluring blue eyes and our worlds collided leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.
It was a single night, and we both wanted to forget someone. He said, I have six months before he returns. Six months to tell my old life goodbye. In my drunk state, I agreed, and he declared us as betrothed. The next morning, I ghosted him.
Imagine my surprise when I see him at my academy six months later. He's returned like a raging inferno to claim me.
The connection and recognition are still there. He was supposed to only be a myth. The man I meet now is different. He’s tortured, dark, and deadly like Hades. A sense of danger surrounds him, trapping me toward him. I don't know what he is capable of until a favor from the reaper and a chilling murder forces us to bond.
I fear the unknown ahead of me when I finally unmask him. I’m entangled in a web of secrets and lies where money and power rule in his dark world. He says he collects souls, and now he is here to take mine.

I was completely addicted to this story by the first few chapters, and missed a lot of sleep reading this book for the simple reason I could not put it down, it really is that good. There was always something happening in the story that kept me on the edged of my seat, all the way to the end. I loved the suspense and plot twists and I am defiantly going to read this again at some point in the near future. Beena Khan has nailed this Hades/Persephone retelling and this author goes from strength to strength every book I read of hers I like better than the lasted, absolutely loved it.
A great loose retelling of Hades and Persephone. A Beautiful Liar is a dark academia mafia romance. As picky as I am with Mafia Romance and gave it four stars, it will probably be your five-star. Dark Academia is becoming one of my favorite tropes.
Valerius Vitalli ( I love that name) is what I look for in an anti-hero. Dark and mysterious. If you have read Beena’s book. Val is Enzo’s younger brother.
Annabella is sweet, naive, and innocent. She is also strong and resilient. Annabella is the scholarship kid; because of this, she is constantly bullied.
After one night together, Val promises he will be back in six months, and boy does he keep his promises.
The chemistry between the two is off the charts. The book has everything—secrets, mystery, darkness, and full steam ahead.
The author goes into great detail and paints a dark and glorious world. I can’t wait to see how the story goes from here.
This is my first time venturing into dark academia and a gothic story, (Well, I kind of wrote A King of Beasts too, but this one takes it up a notch in terms of gothic-ness, and it has another concept that I haven't written before and I am so excited to share it!
Fun fact: This dark romance doesn't have many cuss words. I've been researching on many gothic books, and I tried to keep the elegance of it, although it does have my usual other stuff such as, TWs: gore, murder, killers, bullying, stalking, torture, praise/degradation, and violence.
Oh my God! I think I just read my new favorite book written by Beena. This book was so twisted and so surprising. Every time I thought I knew how things would turn out, I was wrong. And I loved this! Because this means everything to me while reading a book.
I also liked the Greek references. I love reading books that have a part towards the greek mythology. So instantly, this book gave awesome vibes. It was a great start, but I still need to read more about Persephone (I guess this will happen in the next book in the series).
But for now, I’m gonna mention what my favorite parts of the book were. I kind of love books that have as main characters students or books where the action takes place in universities, colleges or academies. And this book had both. Even though I’m 27 and way over my university years, I’m still a sucker for great romances between characters that still study and find their “one person” while being in “school”.
Also, even though the book was dark at times, it wasn’t that kind of darkness that made me look away. It was the kind of twisted story that made me crave more. At some point I even wanted something to happen between Annabella and Maddox (don’t blame me for having this kind of fantasy).
I was pleasantly impressed by the fact that even though we had a Vitalli as main character, he had a different path than the others in his family - somehow. As Hades, he was a normal guy who “helped” others. And it was a breath of fresh air.
Also, the shower scene... oh! my! god! It was so intense and hot! I loved it! 😏 Curious about this scene? Read the book! Because there ain’t any spoilers here.

Beena has done it again. A Beautiful Liar is Beenas' first Dark Academia novel, and she wrote it with perfection. 6 Months ago, Annabella met Valerius in a discotheque. The sparks fly between the two, both reeling from hurt hearts. Valerius vows to come back in 6 months for Annabella. From here, the story sets itself. A dark retelling of Hades and Persephone, which draws you into Valerius and Annabella's story. Full of passion, mystery, and darkness, the plot had me gripped from the start. I loved the character development of both of them, and that ending left me shaken. My poor kindle got so much abuse because of it.
A Beautiful Liar is a gothic, dark mafia romance with a lot of suspense throughout. This a is loosely based modern day Hades & Persephone retelling. It’s the first in the series & this book ends on a cliffhanger.
Tropes: ✨Dark Academia ✨Stalking ✨Mafia ✨Interconnected characters make reappearance from other books ✨modern day retelling ✨Gothic
Our hero, Valerius Vitalli is the Don of the Vitalli mafia’s younger brother. We met Enzo, his older brother in BEENA’S Beauty & The Beast Series.
Val is 19 and so sweet initially compared to his older brother. Our heroine Annabella Serra meets Valerius at a club she goes to with her best friend.
Anna goes to Saint Eudora, an elite private catholic University that she was accepted in via scholarship. The other students bully her for being poor, being a “nun” because she wears her hair in a French braid & appears “different” than the other rich students. Her main tormentor is her best friend’s boyfriend.
After their fun night, Val promises Anna that he will see her again in 6 months He sees something in her. It’s Insta love as he feels she’s his soulmate early on. Val is so mysterious and so is this novel!
The entire time I was wondering who I could trust, what would happen and I couldn’t put it down! I finished this in one day because I needed to know how this would end.
Things occurred that I had no idea would. There’s murder, secrets, lies and a gothic academia setting that’s beautifully described.
I enjoyed this alot! Beena has never written a gothic university novel and it was fun being that the MC’s are 18 & 19 and innocent in some ways.
I can’t wait to see how this turns out! The book ends in a cliffhanger.
I received an ARC from the author and I am writing this review voluntarily.
WOW! Valerius Vitalli is a character who has never ceased to amaze me, and who certainly does not dishonor the family name. Valerius and Anabella meet one night out, both trying to forget other people, they spend the night together. It is not until months later that Anabella runs into him again, and from there her world will turn upside down. Anabella is being bullied at her school by her best friend's boyfriend, especially him, but in general people treat her differently, partly because she is not rich like the other students. But Valerius sees her with different eyes, makes her feel special, something she is not used to and makes her distrust him, but this handsome devil has a few tricks up his sleeve. Will she be able to escape the clutches of the god of the underworld or will she be consumed by flames? Can't wait to read the next part.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My voice wavered. “You’re… You’re sick…” He raised an eyebrow as his eyes glowed mischievously. “You like the wickedness in me though. Isn’t that why you stuck around, my Bella? You had all the time in the world to escape me. Yet, you still choose to stay. Admit it. You want me. You adore me. Tell me something, Annabella. Do you really, truly believe you’re pure like a saint? You like this madness of mine, because you, my little flower, might just be poison ivy in the making.”
THAT TWIST THOUGH!!! The story was going steady and good, and then the twist happened!! Wow. I was not expecting that AT ALL!!! I'm dying to know what's going to happen for Valerius and Annabella's story.
Annabella goes to Saint Eudora Academy on a full scholarship so students there look down upon her especially by Mason, her best friend's boyfriend. Annabella was not expecting to see the man, Valerius, who she had a one night stand with. That night they both agreed that they're bethrothed to one another while they're drunk. Valerius is total a mystery to Annabella, but she is drawn to him.
What happened when a night totally went wrong for all of them?
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Beena Khan!
A Beautiful Liar is the first book in the Hades and Persephone series and tells the story of Annabella and Valerius.
Beena Khan did it again! She’s such a talented author and I love her take on fairytales and myths. A Beautiful Liar is loosely based on the Hades and Persephone myth, and I really enjoyed it. This book is also Beena Khan’s first Dark Academia, and I think she did an amazing job with the gothic-ness and the academy vibes. Besides Dark Academia, this story is also a Mafia Romance with a lot of darkness and suspense.
A Beautiful Liar is about Annabella and Valerius. Valerius is the brother of Enzo, a character you might know if you’ve read the Beauty & The Beast series. I really loved both characters because they both have been through a lot and they found each other one night, and that night changed everything for them. I really enjoyed reading about Anna and Val, and getting to know them. I also loved the Hades and Persephone references such as the overprotective mother, the 6-month-period, the flowers, …
A Beautiful Liar is another amazing book by Beena Khan, and I didn’t expect anything else. I’ve read quite a few of her Mafia books, and every time she surprises me again. Her world-building, her characters, her writing, … AMAZING. I really enjoyed reading A Beautiful Liar, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I’m still not over how A Beautiful Liar ended, so I really hope we get the next book, A Terrible Villain, soon!

Beena Khan is a storyteller that brings dark fairytales and myths to life. She writes grim and twisted fairytales with everything from enemies to romance and forbidden stories, including dark romance, mafia crime, romantic thrillers, and psychological and contemporary fiction that gives you a book hangover. Her books are painful, messy, dangerous, and raw.
“Everything that my world touched turned into dust.”
Annabella is intelligent, kind, and used to not being seen. Unless she is being bullied at the academy, her life is not as charmed as her peers, she isn’t rich, and her mother works very hard to provide. When a mysterious stranger sees her out one night, the last thing she expected would be to see him again.
This was different from what Beena has been writing, though not completely. There are still mafia elements, with mentions of characters we already know.
The academia portion really wasn’t as represented as I imagined, though large portions of the plot did take place on the campus.
I did like how the elements were used throughout this novel, the battle between darkness and light was well represented. I enjoyed how Beena utilized shadows and reflection throughout the book, it was quite beautiful.
Valerius was a dark, brooding character, which we have come to expect sighing this realm. He finds himself drawn to the light that is Annabella, who is essentially his opposite.
Their balance tilted back and forth well, and I think the way relationship escalated was balanced well with the age of the main characters.
The story was well written, and the emotions were well placed. The side characters all added periods of relief from the heaviness of the plot, which was well done.
I loved that when Annabella and Valerius had real, raw conversations that were so emotionally driven, and so passionate that it just field their fire for each other.
I am looking forward to how this story will continue to unfold. I am invested in this journey, and I have to know how it ends.
A Hades and Persephone retelling in a dark academia and mafia setting. Beena Khan always fascinates me with her writing. This book is about Annabella Sera, an 18 year old naive and a little insecure girl. One day her Bestfriend brought her to a club and then she met Valerius Vitalli, 19 year old mysterious, beautiful blond guy. Annabella and Valerius shared a night both they won’t forget given the fact that they shared same feelings of unrequited love. They promised to see each other after six months but Annabella thought it was a one time thing and move on the day after.
Months pass and Annabella goes to Saint Eudora in a scholarship, there she has been bullied, they called her a “nun” and also due to her poverty. Her main tormentor is her bestfriend’s boyfriend and the sad thing is that her Bestfriend is unaware about it.
Annabella’s day to day torment lead to her having a bad grade and she can’t afford to leave the school, in desperation, her best friend told her about a hacker that can help her. That hacker was called Hades and unknown to Annabella it was also Valerius, who has not forgotten a single thing about her and claimed her as his.
There are a lot of things going on in this book, first are the characters, Annabella and Valerius has chemistry, their intense connection molds into a sexy reunion. Second is the setting build up, Saint Eudora is perfectly described as a gothic place where mystery and history can be found. And last, the plot is something else, in all honesty, I thought at 95% that it will have a rush ending and I need a lot of answers but man, that twist in the end!!!!
What do I expect!? It’s Beena Khan’s writing.. I should have known she’ll make me ask for more!
I voluntary review this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A Beautiful Liar is a mafia romance story. I have mixed feelings about this one. When I read the description it sounded like I would find this book very interesting, but that wasn't the case.
The first 20% of the book was very confusing and the rest of it had a weird pace. The female main character Anna was just annoying and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't connect with her. Her relationship with Valerius was so boring. The fact, that this is marketed as Hades and Persephone retelling bothers me, because I didn't see them like that. I did like the plot of the story and that was the only reason I finished reading it.
Overall, this book just wasn't for me. But if you do like a gothic mafia romance with a weak and naive FMC then you might like this one.
Described as a loose retelling of the story of Hades and Persephone, 'A Beautiful Liar' is the first book I ever read by Beena Khan. I'm not sure how I've never encountered her work before, because this was so good! The beginning novel in a duology, this is a dark erotica romance, and boy did it hit every mark for this trope!
Our two main protagonists first meet in a nightclub, where our heroine, Anabella is introduced as a virginal, slightly naive nerd, who is more focused on her studies and has not had many life experiences due to the overly strict nature of her mother. Valerius Vitalli, whom we soon learn is a Made Man in the Italian mafia, sees her and the attraction is instantaneous. After they share one night together, he brands her his and vows to return for her in six months. However, a terrible enlightenment changes him, bringing out some darker aspects of his personality. What follows is a depraved (but amazing!) reunion between them, with their relationship blossoming from some "beautiful lies."
This is perhaps one of the best recountings of Hades and Persephone I have ever read! And I have read quite a few over the years, so this is high praise coming from me. It was so dark and twisted, especially when at a certain point in the book, and I loved almost every moment of it! I oftentimes find that novels touting themselves as 'dark erotica' where the protagonists are in their late teens/early twenties never quite meet the mark for the genre. I really liked that even though the protagonists are young, they do not come across as too young for the trope. Sure, Anabella is sheltered and innocent, but she has a core strength that belies her youth.
I did not have any issues with this, which says a lot in and of itself. I absolutely recommend this to all the dark erotic romance lovers out there, as this novel hits all the marks of the genre. Of course, due to the insanely sexy scenes and strong profanity, this is not meant for those under eighteen years old. Triggers include: violence, death of a loved one, and bullying. I can't wait for the conclusion to this story!
*A great many thanks to BookSirens and Beena Khan for this ARC. It is important to note that I was under no commitment to provide a positive review, and all opinions are undoubtedly my own.*
**My thanks to the author and Hidden Gems for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
First of all I love this cover. It really spoke to me and therefore I decided to read a book with a theme darker than I normally would. This is the darkest theme book I have ever read.
There is lots of description in this retelling of Hades and Persephone of a world a lot darker than ours, of the mafia and a man who is obsessed with the woman he finds at the bar of the discotecq six months ago. Annabella met Valerius while there with her best friend Cecilia, her friend who great all of the attention. She is dumbfounded that Valerius sees her and actually want to talk to her instead of her friend.
A few tequilas later and 18 year old Bella goes home with 19 yr old Valerius and in her tipsy state agreed to be his fiancé and to be his in six months when he returns for her, then they completed her v-card removal.
When he returns however, he is not quite the same man as before, now he is darker and and many more secrets, he is also angry that she gave him a false name.
Two souls call for each other, each balancing each other out, one dark and one full of light. Although this book does not end on a cliff hangar, there is a mother book after this that tells the rest of their story and I cannot wait to read it.
What a roller coaster ride this was! The darkness, the emotions, the rush and the twists made it very hard for me to put it down! This is the story of Valerius (Val) and Annabella (Bella). Valerius is the younger brother of Enzo Vitalle (Don of one of the 5 families). Once he finds out the truth about things from his past, he leaves his family behind and goes out on his own. Only to run into Annabella at a club one night. Bella has always played second best to her best friend and was very surprised when Val approached her. One night would turn in to something 6 months later.
My heart went out to Bella as she didn’t have the confidence in herself to think she was anything other than a “nerd”. My emotions were all over the place as I read each page and felt the emotions of Val and Bella. My heart hurt for Val’s past and the lies. I am anxious to read the next book to see what becomes of the relationship Val and Bella could possibly have. Secrets, lies, and deception will always keep me coming back for more! I loved every minute of this book (even though some of it, I should question myself!!!!). Ms. Khan has done it again and I look forward to what is to come from her!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Having read Ms.Khan's work before i've been wanting to pick up more of her books this year! As soon as this one was announced it piqued my interest right away! I added it to my TBR List. I knew it had to be the next one of hers that i read! I picked it up as soon as i could and got into this world quickly. I so enjoyed this first installment!
This first installment in Valerius and Annabella's journey got my attention right from the get go! I wasn't sure what all to expect going into their story and i really liked how that pulled me into it even more. It kept me on my toes. The chemistry between these two was great! I loved that i felt many things throughout with these two.
I really enjoyed this unique take on Hades and Persephone!
With A Beautiful Liar, Ms.Khan has created such a good and dark read you won't want to turn away from! I can't to dive back into this world and get more of these characters with the second installment, A Terrible Villain!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
I always enjoy a good retelling of mythology and this one was absolutely fabulous! The author did an amazing job here with this story weaving a tale that had me riveted. There was just enough myth to the story to keep the Hades and Persephone alive and well, yet so much more that it was a fresh, strong story all it's own at the same time. I loved it so much and cannot wait to read the next part. I am new to this author but will be looking for more of her work in the future.
Oh my. That was a fantastic story. The twist threw me. I lived every second of this book. That cover is stunning and has a beautiful dark story to go with it. This book was filled with intense and steamy scenes. You won't want to miss this book. Valerius and Annabella had my kindle melting in some parts. Whew.... Loved this book so much.
I have never read a dark academia book before, but I love dark and gothic romance, especially mafia and this book was everything I love about that genre.
Annabella is a sweet, naive, innocent “nun” that attends this private catholic school and Valerius Vitalli is dark and tempting and everything I love about a H. He promises to come back for her in six months. Boy does he keep his promises. There is passion, possession, murder, sex…..so many twists and turns! This is a modern day retelling of Hades and Persephone which happens to be my favorite Greek myth. I couldn’t put this book down!
***LISTEN TO THE TRIGGER WARNINGS! If you cannot read dark romance, even a little bit, this book is not for you!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars to another masterpiece by Ms. Khan. I cannot wait to read more as you venture further into this new world!
^ I was provided an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I feel like there is no nicer way to say this but this feels like a rough first draft. It feels like I was just reading right into the authors thoughts versus a finished product.
The entirety of the first few chapters were a complete mess. It was a hard DNF and I really try not to do that with books but this was not it.
The FMC came across as a child even at 18 and the way the dialogue was written made me want to light my kindle on fire and throw it. The FMC whenever she spoke didn't make any sense whatsoever and some of the information in there was just useless. There were phrases that were written that made me go cross-eyed trying to figure out because they simply just didn't make sense.

I think this is the book by Beena Khan that has surprised me the most so far, there are many situations in the plot and its main characters that I NEVER saw coming, but that I loved and made me love Valerius & Annabella too, so much so that I think they are my new favorites! She's definitely my favorite girl from Beena
Annabella was the new character in this book, a good, smart girl, an excellent student, and somehow locked up in her own life, sweet, tender and with whom I could immediately empathize, her family and academic life was a very interesting twist, which broke my heart at times and greatly distressed me at others, but without a doubt Anna stole my heart immediately.
We had already read Valerius in A King of Beasts, he's Enzo's younger brother, and I think I loved him from the moment he helped Roza and fell in love with Galina. He was a character that surprised me a lot and I fell in love as soon as Anna, he is a sweet and kind boy who tried not to be part of the Vitalli's life, unfortunately for him a shocking truth lead him to discover and accept his darkest side. I loved Valerius's personality, his tender side and behavior towards Annabella, and that even when the truth managed to change him, he was still that boy she met at the club, and although there were some decisions of his character that I didn't like much I'm looking forward to reading more of him in the next book.
Annabella & Valeirus had one of the most interesting beginnings that Beena has written, I loved how tender, sensual and mysterious their encounter at the club was, the chemistry they shared and the power their connection gave Anna, plus their relationship was full of mysteries and unexpected situations, however, even as much as I loved this love story and the characters, I think there was something missing in the plot, especially regarding Valerius, I think Beena didn't go as deep into his character as in her previous books, and things seemed very rushed to me towards the end, something that also makes me want to know what will happen between Anna & Valerius at the conclusion of their story, I know, I have a lot of mixed feelings.

A dark retelling of the story of Hades/Persephone. Annabella sneaks out for a bit of fun and meets Valerius. They begin to talk and have something in common, they share a steamy night together and then Valerius gives her six months to choose. What will she choose? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and emotion. Great characters with plenty of twists and turns. I liked it.
🇺🇸 ARC provided in exchange for an honest review A Beautiful Liar It's the first book from the Hades and Persephone series.
Valerius Vitalli, is not a new character for me since I met him in King of beasts and he was a character that really intrigued me and I was really excited to read his story but I am going to be honest and admit that I couldn't connect much with him and even though there are pov's of him I feel like I still don't know him at all.
Annabella Serra is a totally new character and she is different from other characters that the author has written, it was really easy for me to empathize with her in many aspects. She is a very cute and sweet character who I want to protect from everyone.
Now, I liked them together especially at the beginning and I liked the way they met a lot but towards the end I felt that everything was very rushed and there were some actions on his part that I didn't like.
Buuuuuut I can't wait to read the second book and see everything that happens. In general it is good, interesting and easy to read.
PLEASE, before starting this reading, read the trigger warnings.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed reading this book with the suspenseful scenery and gothic language. The love story is very twisted and different from most books. This book follows Annabella as she attends a prestigious college however, she is constantly attacked for being a scholarship student and dressing like a "nun". One night she decides to step out of her comfort zone and go to a club where she meets a dark and mysterious man. There is an instant connection but she runs away at the night's end. Now six months later her life is flipped upside down with shady deals, a dark man, and murder. While this book is marketed as gothic, I felt like the writing was trying to tell that instead of the feeling of the scenery. The two characters spend very little time together, so if insta love is a turn-off, this book is not for you. However, if long smut scenes are up your alley then this is the correct read for you [it was multiple chapters]. Annabella has no street smarts and it fits her character but it's so frustrating to read about. I cannot wait to see where the story goes in the second book. There was such a large buildup and I am ready for everything to come crumbling down in the second book and see where their love story goes.
The writing could be repetitive when describing the castle, especially from both POVs. Annabella has a habit of repeating the same things in her head about the way she feels about herself and I would like to see her grow in the image of herself.
Two heartbroken people met by accident at a discotheque. Both had been rejected. After a one night of passion Valerius vowed to return in six months to take his betrothed Annabella away. Still somewhat drunk Annabella agreed but then again she considered it a one night stand. Valerius was beside himself trying to find his betrothed. She had given him a fake last name as well as a different college. Annabella suffered dearly at her school. Constantly being bullied by the rich and powerful boys. When Annabella needed help with a grade change her friend Cecilia suggested a hacker friend Hades. Little did Annabella know her past had come back. Annabella and Valerius had a strong chemistry. He had a deep dark secret that could cost them their relationship. As their journey continued Annabella started unraveling the mystery behind Valerius. Now she had a big decision to make. Loosely retelling of Hades and Persephone. Can't wait for next installment A Terrible Villian (coming August 2022)!! Thank you Hidden Gems and the author for a digital copy. Read and reviewed voluntarily and the opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Synonymous to the Vitalli's reputation. This is a Retell of the Hades & Persephone Greek Myth, the closest I've read. It's Valerius Vitalli & Annabella Serra's story. The mastermind author Beena Kahn presents a super dark and delicious dark gothy academia setting beyond your expectations. From beginning to end I was gripped. It will pull at your heartstrings from start to finish hands down a true page-turner. There were many twists, turns and surprises you won't want to put it down. This story was playing so vividly I'm my head. You are definitely going to enjoy this gothy world build, the characters, action, drama, suspense, passion and intense ruff s3x🔥🔥. Of course this coupled with twists, turns, a great plot and surprising ending (a cliffy)🖤🖤 I can't wait for the next installment in this duet because I need more🩸I don't do spoilers because it takes away from the book and you do have the Blurb😉 One-click this great tale now and prepare to be engrossed👍👍👍
My ARC review is so late but I don't even know what to say other than ✨the gaslight is real✨
To be honest, I am so conflicted right now. I thought Enzo was bunkers but, dang, Valerius... Like I don't even know if if I like him or not. Yes, I love toxic love interests to some extent. Yes, he's got pretty words while in the sheets. He literally hit me in the face with the "good girls." Like SiR----✋ Please pay for the child support 🤰😂
Annabella is so innocent and naive. She could not see through the gaslight... Omg. It was crazy. Nothing was going as I expected so the twists were surprising. I'm not over this yet. My brain is trying to catch up to it all. I need the next book lol
Wow… just wow! I don’t even know where to begin ! I’m embarrassed to admit this, but this is my first novel by this author… and let me tell ya, what an amazing book it was! If dark romance is your thing, this is an absolute MUST read!!! Valerius is such a deep and complex character. I adore him!! He’s such a dark and yet somewhat sweet character. It’s fun watching him change around Annabella. I can’t wait to find out more about his family and past! I need MORE!!!! Annabella is a sweet, innocent and naive girl! Watching her character blossom and develop .. is so refreshing !! Together, these 2 are a force of nature! Their chemistry is immediate, their love instant and their future… uncertain! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these two. I’m not going to give too much away! Just go out and read this book ASAP!!
A Beautiful Liar, coinciding with the timeline of A King of Beasts, which focused on the monstrosity Enzo Vitalli, Valerius' older brother.
Six months after a night of myths, passion and sweet innocence with Annabella brings Valerius back to the Saint Eudora Academy. Six months of darkness slipping further into his soul, rotting him away from the inside.
Creepy stalking tendencies aside, dark bullying against Anna forces Valerius' psyche deeper, turning into obsession to ensure her safety. Untold lies surface; the beautiful liar spiriting her away to the depths of his hell.
Darkness blindingly loved to love blinding darkness. To keep the monster and the madness or stay in the light of spring continues in A Terrible Villain.
Another artful retelling by the talented Beena Khan!
She's a scholarship at an old and prestigious academy. He's the son of a powerful mafia Don. They meet at a nightclub and become each other's first of many things. He says he'll be back for her in six months, she learns he is a man of his word. Wow, these characters are definitely dark, or at least one of them is and they are utterly fascinating. Kinda like watching a train wreck, you know it will be bad, you should look away, but you just can't tear your eyes away. Her light becomes his dark obsession to the point he will do anything for her. Again, wow! Bullying, steamy and sometimes violent love scenes, murder, corruption, and unexpected twists in the plot. If you like very dark and twisted romances this is the book for you. Fantastic!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
