A few days ago, social services gifted me a daughter. Six-year-old Ivy has my eyes, is cute as a button, and couldn't have landed in less capable hands than mine.

I have zero parenting skills, my bedside manner is non-existent, and my job doesn't take kindly to Bring Your Daughter to Work Day. All in all, I'm heading straight for a Worst Father of the Decade award.

4 Star review of The Babysitter Blunder (Hibiscus #2) by Lolita Thorne
Lolita Thorne is a new author to me and I found this to be enjoyable read. I love single parent stories and Roman and Quinn’s story was easy to read; add in Roman’s 6 year old daughter Ivy and I was drawn in the story that Ms.Thorne wove.
Roman is struggling and is desperate to find someone that can look after Ivy. Unfortunately for him, the only person he can find to look after Ivy is his ex high school girlfriend Quinn. Roma

Book Title: The Babysitter Blunder
Written By: Lolita Thorne
I did finish this book but I had a hard time not putting it down. Roman is a complete ... just yeah. I thought Quinn was a rock in the beginning.. she was the one making sure everything went well in their lives.. then she just stopped being herself and turned into this really mean person. If you say you care for someone, especially a kid, you should be there for them whether or not you are fighting with their parents.

ARC recieved from the BookSirens for an honest review.

Roman has just been handed over his 6 year old daughter which he pretty much forgot about after Ivy's mother's death. He knows nothing about parenting and has been doing everything wrong. He needs help. The only one who can help him is Quinn. Quinn has hit her own rock bottom just that she still doesn't know the severity of it. Roman bumps into her while on his rounds to attach eviction notices, however ends up asking Quinn to babysit his dau

So, when a blast from her past literally shows up on her doorstep needing help, she sees it as an opportunity to help but maybe gain some extra money to stay afloat. Roman is shocked when he sees his high school sweetheart for the first time in years and here he is struggling to be a father to a daughter he never got the chance to know. When Roman ends up taking care of his daughter Ivy after the death of her mother, he is lost and completely out of his depth. He hasn't been much involved in her life until this point in time. Roman has been growing his legal business in Hibiscus Bay so being thrown into parenting has thrown him into a spin. Taking your child to work day can work, right?

Quinn is down on her luck. Job opportunities are few and far between in Hibiscus Bay and she is behind on her rent. Her landlord is about to hav

4.5 Stars for The Babysitter Blunder (Hibiscus Bay #2)
This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last because I loved every about my visit to Hibiscus Bay and I will certainly be checking out book one as soon as time permits.
There’s something about a single dad and Roman is a man I fell hard and fast for, trying to come to terms with finding out he has a 6 year daughter and trying to do what’s right for her all make this man very special and once you add in t

I love Ivy!!! Scaredy-Pants learned what fear was! This is about Quinn, Roman, and his daughter Ivy. This story starts off kind of crazy – Quinn is late on her rent and has this gig coming up at a kid’s party, but it won’t be enough to pay off what she owes. She hasn’t received the eviction notice so that is a plus, but what she does get right when she is heading out is a call to ask her if she would babysit for someone who urgently needs to work. Turns out Roman not only needed to get to work b ...more

Quinn is struggling to pay her rent and has taken on a job entertaining at children's birthday parties to make ends meet. As she is leaving, her high school boyfriend Roman shows up with his daughter Ivy in tow, in desperate need of a babysitter. What Quinn doesn't know is that Roman is also there to evict her, which he decides on the spur of the moment not to do. He hires her as Ivy's nanny, as he became a parent unexpectedly when his ex-wife passed away.

Quinn is definitely a rockstar at parent

Mixed Feelings . . .

Roman received a big surprise when Social Services dropped the 6- year-old daughter he never knew into his life without warning. He has to scramble to find a nanny for Ivy while still trying to perform his job. As he is serving eviction notices, he finds an old college sweetheart, Quinn, who is behind on her rent and will shortly be homeless. So he offers her the job of nanny for his daughter, Ivy. Roman still has feelings for Quinn. Will they use this second chance to start

Second Chance Small Town Romance.

Quinn is broke and lives in a dump. Roman is a lawyer who works for her scummy landlord and comes to evict her. Who would guess they were high school sweethearts, and he just took custody of a daughter he doesn't know after her mother dies? Well, here we are, and it makes a lovely story of how they get over their problems and finally get together.

I liked the story and the concept, but a few things seemed unrealistic. First, what lawyer goes around serving evictio

The first part of the story was funny, so funny, and sweet and sexy. I could not stop laughing. such a fun story. I thought Quinn really was a sweetheart with a true unicorn spirit inside her and a mean streak like Tinkerbell. Roman displayed a bit of a neurotic and high-strung type-A personality. So, of course, they fit perfectly as if they were made for each other.

Then the author decided that she needed more angst and gave the woman-child-unicorn-fairy person the wisdom of a tantrum-prone todd

Small town, big missunderstanding

The Babysitter Blunder is the second book in this series. Not having read the first I didn't feel like I was missing any vital information, each book does well as a stand alone. The characters are well rounded and readers can easily picture them. There's one side character I really hope gets her own book in this series as she deserves happiness too.

I enjoyed the premise of this story, I especially loved the second chance aspect. The characters play well of one an

~Roman Cox & Quinn Hardy~

My first read of the author and I have mixed feelings about this...

Roman turned into a dad after his 6 years old daughter, Ivy, was given to him. Not knowing and raising her for 6 years, he didn't know what to do. This was acceptable, but there were so many of his actions that somehow showed his immaturity? He couldn't be gentle with her, so cold and callous. He also couldn't show some love even after so long not knowing his own daughter.
Enter Quinn. She was Roman's

This book started out a bit slow for me. I was thoroughly confused about a lot of things and there didn't seem to be any explanation of them within the first good chunk of the book. It was to the point where I almost put it down and didn't want to continue it. I had more questions than there were answers and I'm the type of person who wants everything laid out at the beginning. Who the characters are, how they fit together, and how they got into their current situations. The whole situation with ...more

This is the story of Roman and Quinn set in the picturesque town of Hibiscus Bay. Roman and Quinn dated in high school, but when she left Hibiscus Bay, that was the end of their relationship. Roman got married and had a child, whose mother did not want Roman involved in the child's upbringing. The mother passes away when Ivy, the daughter is 6 and she goes to live with Roman. Roman is now a lawyer who needs to s

Roman is a man who ends up being a single father, and he's horrible at it for a cool minute to be honest. I could handle it if he was only challenged trying to get the hang of it, but I didn't like how he treated his tiny human a lot of the time. He needs childcare, and he runs into his high school sweetheart, Quinn, who he's supposed to be evicting out of her place, but instead he hires her as his babysitter. I mean, he didn't know who she was anymore so that was a bit dicey for me as I was a s ...more

Quinn decided that she wanted to be a unicorn every day. Much better than waiting tables and taking orders from rude people. Besides, she got fired after dumping tomato soup over a jerk's head. She's heading out the door for a kid's party to do face paintings when she looks up to see the most gorgeous man ever.

Roman is lugging the seven-year-old daughter he didn't realize he had until a few days ago. Well, that he forgot he had until social services contacted him. Now he was dragging her around

While the premise attracted me to this book, I don’t think this was for me.

I was ok with Quinn even though I thought she was immature and naïve. She seemed to genuinely care for Ivy until she didn’t.
Roman was a difficult person to like. Granted he became a single dad overnight, but he seemed to be constantly shouting and ill-tempered with both Quinn and Ivy. While Ivy was impeding his work, I didn’t think he won the Father of the Year award when he dumped her with Quinn. Even though Roman and
This book had me because it's a romantic comedy and small town romance. It's also a single dad romance. My heart went out to little Ivy. She's gone through too much in her little life. Then Roman gets custody and he is clueless how to be a parent. That's why he better be thanking fate that brought Quinn back into his life. Quinn's life isn't going so well. All her hopes and dreams of coming back to Hibiscus Bay going up in smoke. My absolute favorite part of this book is watching little Ivy blos ...more

could not stop laughing or put this book down as Ms. Thorne has written another five star book for the “Hibiscus Bay” series. This is a complete standalone with no cross over characters from the previous book.

Written from Quinn and Roman’s point of views, there is lots of chemistry, angst, and romantic moments. Little Ivy is precious and steals just about every scene she is in. For a young girl, she has been thru the ringer and Quinn can’t help but love her even more as she finds out everything.

First of all: WOW!
Before I even started reading, my first thought was that this is going to be just another chick-lit romance. I was wrong!
When I read the first few sentences of the book, I was confused, and I thought this would be a really weird book. I'm glad I was wrong.
This book was a big emotional rollercoaster for me. A lot was happening and I couldn't stop reading until I came to the end. Roman and Quinn are my new favorite couple and I'm sad that this book is a stand-alone and I won't

This was my first book by Lolita Thorne, but certainly won't be the last! Thank you to BookSirens for allowing me to read an ARC of this story.

It started off with one of the main characters, Quinn, dressing as a unicorn for a child's birthday party, and I knew I would be hooked! Quinn and Roman were together in the past and he comes back into her life in a very unexpected way. Nearly at the beginning, Roman discovers that he has a 6-year-old daughter, Ivy, so the story revolves primarily around
The blurb really got me and I thought this would be a fun read. I like Quinn at first, especially how she is with Ivy. But then the way she treats her friend just sucks. I feel like she always thinks she’s right.

Roman's character is no less troubling. He doesn’t even try to be a father to his daughter. Like wth, he just depends on Quinn to do everything for his daughter. And he has a lot of cynicism how could he talk to his daughter like that? I get that he’s not used to having kids,

Roman doesn't know the first thing about raising young children so when he gains full custody of his 6 year old daughter Ivy. Roman needs help. Taking is daughter to school isn't part of his job description.

Struggling to pay her rent, Quinn is about to be evicted from her flat after missing rent payments for months.

One day while going to an eviction notice on behalf of his boss, Roman knocks on the door of Quinn.

A story of first love and second Chances.
