Another great non fiction board book by this author. Full of flaps and folds to lift, this interactive book introduces kids to fascinating ocean creatures such as the octopus, the seahorse, and the lobster, among others. The adorable mixed media illustrations make this extremely appealing to the eye. I like that there are just a few facts per animal, and labels of carnivore or omnivore, and there are nearly equal numbers of Black and White kids investigating the animals in whimsical gear or underwater vehicles. The playful but easily readable font (Hello Mr. Font) mimics hand printing. A fun book to read in preparation to visiting an aquarium.

Even as an adult, I had fun lifting the flaps in this book! I do think it is a little text heavy and dry for a board board. But I love the last page where the reader is asked if they remember all the animal’s names.
