Two rejected mates. Two heartbreaks. And a fight for survival. Virga's about to find out who she really is. What she's made of. What she's destined for. Is her bloodline one she'll wish to erase? Or one she'll fight to the death to protect? Even if it means betraying Tueur.
I didn’t finish the second book. It is frustrating to see a female lead pretending to be strong when faced with adversity she needs to be saved by a stronger male who chooses for her how to handle the situation. I feel like it’s leading to a pretty pointless ending. There are increasingly more albeit interesting elements added but I am pretty certain they are just pieces of shiny fluff then actual storyline substance. I wanted to like the series. I gave the first book the benefit of the doubt thinking it was leading somewhere and we are just flip flopping back and forth to caring about her family and having sex and then acting like a badass then not really because her dad or boyfriend have to save her. Repeat times 3 It has so much potential but it fell flat. Plus the typos, grammar errors, incorrect wording etc was a lot it wasn’t one or two it was all over the place and just made the story that much worse to read.
The start was good and the things with the wolf was exciting… but aside from the hot sex, their cosmic connection was-
Weird. And perfectly normal for a “cosmic connection” which is to say “doesn’t need an explanation cause it just is”. They admire qualities of each other AFTERWARDS, sure. And things were smoother when they got along. But aside from the wolf drama and the mention of demons, everything else wasn’t very exciting or attention-grabbing. I’m not sure if I didn’t click with the writing but the whole feel of it didn’t do it for me. I won’t be continuing unless my personality demands I finish the series. Otherwise I’m okay not getting to the third book.
This is the second book in the Virga’s Doom series. It takes up where the first book left off. Virga, our heroine is part wolf shifter and part demon. Succubus to be specific. She is finding out more about her true parents and their background,. She’s still not sure about the soul bond with Tueur. How did it happen and what does it mean. Tueur has come a long way from book 1. . . Fighting the bond and wanting to break it to embracing it and falling in love with Virga. There’s some excitement with her old wolf pack and a brief reunion with her prior mates; Alfons and Merle. I admit to getting a lil misty at her conversation with Merle. I always liked him and thought he got royally screwed by fate, and mostly his father.
Two books in and I’m still not sure how I feel about this series. I like the storyline, for the most part. I admit that I’m uncomfortable with an archangel having a baby with a human and then pretty much abandoning him. I’m not surprised that a demon would, however. Not sure I like the demon being the good guy here, seems a bit sacrilegious to my mind (yeah, I said it). I hesitate to give my initial impression of Virga, God knows she’s been through a crapton of shit. . . But I kinda find her to be selfish. She sends her mom to hide when she first returns to the Endless Woods, until she can confront Alfons. She mentions that she can’t be out on her own for long because if they’re in their wolf form too long, they will lose their humanity and remain a feral wolf. Sure she had some fights but upon waking up, the first thing she does is not go find her mother, it’s to screw Tueur. Only after a couple days of that does she tell him that she must go find her mother. Upon her second visit to the Endless Woods, Tueur sends Kirin, a sprite, with her. As usual, another big fight breaks out and Kirin is left gasping on the ground while she and Tueur escape to the mountains near his castle where they screw for a couple of days while her old pack is in shambles and the status of her only 2 friends is unknown. . Honestly, I thought having your soul mate would make you a BETTER person.
I guess my point is, I don’t find her to be a very sympathetic character beyond the slavery and treatment she endured as a youth in her pack. Sure, there’s a few passages here and there that are sad, but my overall feeling towards her is not a positive one. As for the MMC, he was an asshole in the first book and most of the second. It didn’t give me any time to develop sympathetic feelings towards him by the time he “turned” into what most other readers probably would consider a more sympathetic and likeable guy. I guess my feelings are all over the place with this series. That’s the reason for my 3-star rating. For me to give a 4 or 5 star rating, I have to have a lot of happy, satisfied feelings when I finish a book. Likewise, I don’t give 1 or 2 star ratings unless I absolutely hated a book. That is also not the case here. I didn’t feel any of that.
Lots of editing errors. A lot more steamy scenes in this book, and it ends on a cliff hanger.
SOME SPOILERS!! . . . . . I can't even finish it honestly. So it starts out with a girl as a slave being punished cruely only to die by her Alphas hands, come back to life after being betrayed by two soul mates only to get another one. Supposedly she grows from the experience, and claims to never allow herself to be used as a slave or manipulative again. So her third soul mate nearly kills her after betraying her, lying to her, treating her like shit, only acting like she might be a good piece of ass every now and again, constantly telling her she's fucking his life up. I mean he's an asshole, and he uses a cold shoulder and harsh words towards her at every possible opportunity. Fuck hard life, she was an outcast just like him but hes treating her like she's below him. A slave to his own desires. And after nearly killing her and beating her, suddenly she forgets all about the woman who raised her and that she's in wolf form somewhere in the woods worried about her. He says he's sorry then she's fucking him? Cringe worthy for sure. Not only is he a narcissist like she vowed to turn away from, but he's emotionally abusive and a manipulative bastard and a little dick is all it takes to make her forget the only family she has left? Makes her forget that he betrayed, lied and used her? I was really liking the point too! It was so disappointing reading parts like that, i just couldn't read anymore. I feel like this could've used a lot more character development. She simply acts like a horny slave. And obviously neither is consenting to their bond, so that's also a turn off to the book too. I'm not seeing any kind of wrath from a rejected mate, I'm seeing a niave girl that claimed not to be a slave or to be used again, and what is she doing? Its so toxic and not at all gratifying in any way.
I love how different this books details are. Love, tragedy, obsession, adoration, dedication, perseverance, strength and so much more. Well rounded characters!
To explain... I think this book had merit hence the 3 stars. The storyline is interesting and semi original. It could be a powerhouse type of story but... Here's where my issue with the book arose. I already had issues in the first book because i hated the male characters. Seriously. There was nothing redeeming about them. That's a hard sell but i was hopeful that book 2 would be better. Spoiler. It wasn't.
The authors have a great idea of building up the fmc and having her overcome the chains of slavery but instead they shackle her with a soul bond to someone that uses her AND supposedly the bond, even uncompleted is so overwhelm ing she can't say no or remain in control of herself? It's the very definition of slavery and makes her weak. And then they killed off the only redeeming male.
To some, this might be an excellent read but i just couldn't do it.
4 stars for Wrath of the Rejected by Savannah Rose and Amelia Gates. This is book two in Virga’s Doom. OK so this book is getting better. “I am Virga Blacktail,” she says, loud enough for everyone to hear. “Not a slave. Not a half-mutt. Not a nobody. My life is worth something, as each of yours is worth something. I am not more nor less than any of you. But I am the rightful Alpha, by blood right and by combat!” Virga has finally come into her own. She is showing everyone what she is made of and who she really is. This book did include some sexy scenes just so everyone knows. I am excited to see what the next book has in store for Virga and Tauer.
This series is kinda all over the place. It’s more of a 2.5 for me. Definitely better than the first book. I’m not sure if I would have started this series if I had known the direction it was going to take. I don’t have a problem with angels or demons, I just was expecting a series about a rejected mate. I do enjoy the secondary characters a lot. Since it’s on KU I will read the third book, although I can say I definitely wouldn’t have bought them.
I got through the first book and then this one just didn't keep me. MFC was just so annoying to me, the repetitive monologue the constant droning of fixing the pack then when she should of gone to the paxk after seeing her father she just gallivanted off with her nephil. It just didn't make sense to me. I gave up at that point. Just not my cup of tea.
This book was a mash of different paranormal worlds/planes. I loved the multiple POV’s. It really opened up the characters. It broke my heart that her first 2 previous would bonds were broken forever. The fmc has been through So much yet she strives to be better and do the right thing. I can’t wait to read the next book!
I thought the book was not as exciting as first book to much porn no substance they didn't follow up on what happen to the elves and her becoming Alfa and leaving no background there
This is the kind of book I like and yes there are plenty of sexy scenes not incredibly steamy but still pretty good shortish but good, and it ended pretty good a cliff hanger yes but not as bad as some cliff hangers I cannot wait for the third book
This story is so good it just pulls right in you just have to keep reading all three books to get to the end so You can know what’s going on, it’s the bomb I love it it’s great.
Such a delightful experience I went to different realms I fought with angels and demons on the same day on the same battlefield will love prevail I sure hope so can't wait for number three
Wow! What a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see if Virga and Tuer will find their way back to each other. I hope everything will work out for them and get to the truth of what is happening.
Please ignore this review as I'm unsure if this genre is right for me at this time. I read the first book and wasn't completely sold on it. Only managed to get to 18% of this book and realised I didn't care what happened and was forcing myself to read it.
Similar to the last book it was nothing but trails and tribulations everything was rushed and on the spice scale I would give this a 1.5 and I feel that’s generous
It's getting more interesting and more action packed as well. I am amazed with the amount of intensity the main characters are facing and how they are handling it.
