Tybee Friends Forever #5

The Wedding Planner: Tybee Friends Forever Book 5

Rate this book
Years ago her best friend betrayed her. Now she needs a favor from the wedding planner…but what is the personal price of forgiveness?

A fractured friendship creates new problems for Rachel, the Tybee Island wedding planner. When the daughter of her college roommate asks for help planning her wedding, Rachel is thrown into turmoil. In college Tammy had stolen the heart of Rachel’s forever man. Joshua Pennington and Rachel had plans for a future with a large family. The two women haven’t spoken in years, and Rachel has remained single and childless. Why does Nicole, a heartbreaking replica of her mother, come to her now?

Upset and confused, Rachel turns to her new friends, Julep and Sylvia, for support. In their book group, the three discuss life, love and family bonds more than literature. With so much going on, Julep calls a time out with Griff Sanders, the attractive veterinarian who’d brightened her holidays.

While Rachel considers saying no to Tammy and her daughter, Nicole quickly wins her heart. Something isn’t quite right. Tammy hides a secret that could change Rachel’s life. Meanwhile, plans for Rhett Tucker’s marriage to Esper stall. Feeling guilty about her motherly meddling, Julep finds comfort in creating seashell wreaths for her guests.

Julep’s daughters Whitney and Lulah help their mother establish her bed and breakfast, Julep’s Inn. But she can’t help worrying about Whitney’s attempt to reconcile with her ex, or Cassie’s new classes, which irritate her husband no end.

This heartfelt Tybee Friends Forever series explores the bonds of friendship, the foundations of love and healing a woman’s past. This is the final book in a five -book series.

As this delightful series comes to an end, I found myself laughing and crying through two weddings and the preparations. Every wedding has its own source of tension and Esper and Tammy both have stresses to deal with. Fortunately, though, Rachel has their backs and most of the drama is smoothed over. With the lives of friends woven into the storyline, one feels like family, identifying with the emotions generated by family conflict and unresolved issues. I have thoroughly enjoyed this well-written series, a copy of which I received as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

In this conclusion of the wedding planner – I like to think of it as it being focused on Rachel’s story – the two weddings Rachel has been planning, and stressing over, are finally here! She has some of her unresolved feelings and hurts get answered and it really helps her to move forward with her life. I like to think of it as her dealing with past hurts and anger and turning it all into self-love. And it helps her with the moving on with her life, imho.

Julep’s son’s wedding is also here and of course things don’t go smoothly. But life has a way of working out for Julep, too, as she gets to deal with her feelings and the lives of her children.

All’s good for these folks…for the time being. Hopefully we’ll get to visit with them again and read about more of the families.

The weddings have been planned and in this final episode all of Rachel's hard work finally comes to fruition. Not only are both weddings beautiful, but they are not without stressors, just like real life. But with wedding planner Rachel, most issues are smoothed over. They made me reflect upon my own sister's wedding that had so many calamities that it could be featured in a soap opera!

Rachel learns more about the past which helps her move into her future and Julep just might be ready to take a leap into her future. I hope we read more about Julep's family and friends sometime in the future as there is still so much story to tell. It's a delightful series just chock full of surprises!

Book 5 is the end of The Wedding Planner series. Two very different weddings are happening. Rachel learns more about the past and starts to move away from her hurt. The wedding issues are resolved. This well written series is about the continuing women's friendships; moving on in your life and being true to yourself. This is a most successful conclusion to the series.

Good flow in the storyline. Enjoyed the characters and the interaction of the characters. Ended too soon. What happened with Rachel and Raleigh?
