About the author

Parker Rimes

14 books1 follower
Parker Rimes is a journalist who has spent his life trying to live somewhere else. He's found that Australia, the UK, and the US suit him the best.

In the course of his career, he interviewed over a thousand people who claimed paranormal experiences had transformed their lives. Many of these stories seemed truthful. They inspired him to become a fiction writer.

Diligent research for his novels led him to enroll in a school for mediums, where he failed nearly every psychic test. But he can now predict where to find a good parking space significantly better than the average person. There has to be some cosmic meaning here, but it escapes him.

When not writing, he starts four or five books a week. (Reading, that is.) Some of them he completes. Life is too short to waste time reading rubbish.

His favorite pastime is discovering new verbs and wishing he'd thought of them first.

Animals, he loves, but prefers that most of them stay in their own home. His favorite wines are those sold closest to wherever he lives.

After the bad guy dies in jail, our hero thinks that is the end. But the BG does not give up that easily and continues to cause trouble even after death. Time for our heroine to step in and maybe the two of them can fix things.

This is book two of the series, but it does just fine as a standalone. You will just be missing a bit of background.

This is a detective mystery story with a paranormal element to it. The story is well written and easy to read once you get with the flow. The setting is nicely done, but the characters are even better. They are certainly the stars of the show and they make the story come alive. The plot is fast paced and includes a nice blend of action and mystery which moves things along. Overall, this was a fun read and I look forward to reading more in the series.

Highly recommended.

I received an ARC from Hidden Gems for review purposes.
