USA Today Bestselling Authors A. M. Wilson and Alex Grayson return to Westbridge with the sequel to Pitch Dark. Detective Niko James may have found what he was looking for, but his brother Reece has no idea what's coming for him.

Lightning never strikes twice in the same place. Or so they say…The small town of Westbridge isn't so lucky.

When his brother's best friend went missing eighteen years ago, Reece James swore to himself that the pain of loss would never touch him. Walls of concrete fortified his resolve, and as a grown man, he keeps to himself and works hard to earn an honest living. No wife, no kids, not even a dog to rely on him.

His quiet life is upended when strange things start happening to him. As the events escalate, he can't continue to blame the neighborhood kids who roam freely at night. Forced to report a break in, he anticipates a swift investigation and the person responsible to be caught.

What he doesn't expect is the woman he's loved in secret for twenty years to return to town and lead the investigation.

His attempt to protect Dani as kids was pathetic at best, but when his stalker gets wind of a woman in his life, no matter that she's merely investigating a case and nothing more, Reece will do anything to keep her out of harm's way. Including sacrificing himself.

What his captor has in store will rock the very foundation Reece lives upon and will force him to face his past head on for a chance at survival.

Poor Reece has no idea what's coming for him.

I saw this on TikTok and I’ll admit I was okay I wanna read this it does reminded me of still breathing book alittle just without the “I fucked your sister” 😂😂 I’m say in this it sorta has “cheating” he did kiss another girl on purpose so Dani could push him away and she did this was in there teens.. I’ll tell you more below.

It’s been years and Reece has been pushing everyone away and not wanting anyone, yeah he sometimes has ONS but not alot he still has that mind set to keep everyone at arms length he didn’t want what happened to his brother happen to him. He runs into Dani his ex who he broke and pushed away when they were younger but she’s back but he tries to keep his distance it doesn’t help when she’s a cop who is investigating his break in/stalker.

Things get messy when the stalker takes him and uses his one weakness Dani. Now they are both locked up and dealing with the sick twisted games shes putting them though. Reece has to whip, rape and do other things to Dani and She has to do some cruel things to him. The more they are tortured the closer they get and break down why he did what he did.

I was glad that Reece kept his promise and made sure when they were free he would kill the stalker and he did. My only sad part was the aftermath I wish they bonded and healed together nope Dani ran away to heal away from Reece and he never gave up looking for her. So I wanted to slap Dani for that..

Angsty, sorta cheating, (he kissed someone to make her leave him), drama, slight secondary chars, sexy times, no virgins (both dated during the separation)

once again, a.m. wilson and alex grayson have rendered me speechless.

i came into broad daylight with high expectations after reading pitch dark, and it blew my expectations right out of the water.

i loved reece in pitch dark, but i fell in love with him in his book. his blunt attitude and alpha stance pulled me in from the beginning and i have to commend alex and allison for the way they write male POV's. it didn't feel as though i was reading a book, but actually experiencing reece's thoughts as my own.

dani was just amazing. she's such a strong female lead that i loved from the beginning. she's such an amazing and poweful lead.

i thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. i was so immersed in the characters and their story, i could not put it down (except for when i had to sleep, lol). it held me captivated from start to end and when it finally did, i was so disappointed.

this is a dark and gritty book, one that's a psychological mind-f*ck that had me in tears at a point and wanting to throw up at another, but i would read this book all over again because of how truly amazing it is.

dani and reece went through the most traumatic experience, one that i would never wish on anyone. at one point, i honestly didn't think they'd make it out, but i'm obviously glad they did.

i loved watching their relationship bloom and their misunderstandings be cleared up during their time in captivity. i'd wish they resolved their issues in another capacity because once again, i'd never wish their dreadful experience on anyone else, but i'm glad they were able to seek comfort in each other.

once they re-united again at the end, i loved how pure their relationship was. with their past and what had happened to them, i didn't expect them to be okay but i'm glad they are.

one thing i loved the most about this book was uncle reece. i love how soft he is with chris and maggie, i just know he'd make an amazing dad. i also loved niko and aislin's appearances as well. they're still madly in love as ever and that had my heart soaring.

and let me just say, what happened with mindy had my heart dropping to my toes. i honestly wouldn't mind a third book about tavers finding love again (i don't want him to be alone), and i'd also LOVE a fourth one about decker and bennett.

this book had me on the edge of my seat and stole my breath away in anticipation of what would happen next. i highly recommend this, but please please please, be advised of the trigger warnings listed below. this is not for the faint hearted.

trigger warnings:
— stalking.
— kidnapping.
— rape.
— physical abuse.
— psychological abuse.
— physical and psychological torture.

Broad Daylight was one of my most anticipated reads of this year, and now, it's become one of my favorites!

HOLY FUCKIN' SHIT!!!!!!!!!! This book blew me away. This book was insane, dark, gritty, sick, weirdly good, fucked up, dirty, raw, and exciting book drove me over the edge, and had me losing my shit. These two authors are a stellar writing duo!! Never fails to overwhelm me far exceeding my expectations.

Broad Daylight is dark and gritty, raw and shocking, and utterly addictive, with an unapologetic, badass Alpha male hero. Told in dual POV, the experience and emotion of each character leaves a strong and lasting impression.

This book was dark and twisted, full of unexpected twists and turns, never quite knowing what was going to happen next. When it comes to Allison and Alex...expect the unexpected.
Her storytelling is truly one of a kind. Her words grab you tightly from beginning to end. Her writing is strong and compelling. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and doesn’t hold back. Her characters hover in that mysterious and intriguing grey zone between good and bad and keep you constantly second guessing how you should feel about them.

My heart was pounding, stomach was queasy. You know it’s a phenomenal read when you have physical reactions like that to a book. Allison and Alex they are artists and masters of words as they describes every character and situation in vivid detail. I experienced a whole mix of feelings and emotions as I hungrily devoured each page.

Pitch Dark was an amazing book so going straight onto this book next was a treat. Getting to know Niko’s older brother better, Reece, an even better treat—what a delicious hunk of a man! I digress… sigh! Poor Reece certainly found himself in a spot of bother though, and that’s putting it extremely mildly.

Reece told much of the story so we were able to grasp where he was coming from with his intentions and what he was feeling too. He was certainly a protective alpha male and going through the trauma he did made it even harder for him because of this characteristic. With Danica telling the story as well we were able to see things from her perspective as well, although she have as much content, it was all important to help build up her character profile as well as both Reece’s and Bolt’s. Once again, some flashbacks to when the two lead characters were teenagers helped to explain their relationship dynamic.

With all of the drama and action in the story, the action was incredibly intense yet exciting as well, at times I honestly felt grateful for not having eaten much due to some of the wicked things Bolt designed in her sick, evil games. The darkness in this story truly came out in this section and revealed the vile elements of society that unfortunately are all too true, even though this is fiction.

Once again, this book was jam-packed with emotions, I mean every single one you could think of—it was there and you experienced it with the characters and for them as well. There were plenty of times when I thought, ’What more could this terrible Bolt do?’. Well—she always came through and the poor lead characters were pawns in her twisted game. I think the authors have an excellent take on depraved, evil psychopaths!

This book was dark and twisted. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I would suggest reading Pitch Dark first. There were some unexpected twists for me that I didn't see coming. Lots of drama, lots of action...it was a really good book.

Very slow not much of a thriller

Most people would stick it out. However, nothing really happens in the 7 chapters I read. So I give up, I'm sure there's A book out there that will keep my attention. It's not this one.

Broad Daylight by A.M. Wilson and Alex Grayson was a gritty dark romantic suspense that will make you uncomfortable and intrigued at the same time. It was not an easy read. Nothing proves two people to be Soulmate than surviving a life threatening and traumatic situation.

Reece has seen his brother and sister in law to go through so much abuse and heartbreak in hand of some vile criminal before they found their happily ever after. So he is always cautious. But he doesn't know that he has a stalker. Then strange things start happening in his life. At the same time his ex Danica comes back to town to work in police department. The stalker escalates the plan and they are both kidnapped. And the nightmare has just started.

Please read the blurb and trigger warning before reading this story. The triggers are really important. Reece and Dani broke each other's heart years back and they went through emotional hell. They have a lot of unresolved anger and grief and pain. And restrained in a dirty dark room isn't the best place but the situation strips them raw. The torture they have to do and the brutal acts they have to carry out made me a wreck. I was biting my nails and praying so hard. The suspense is intense and deep. It was really incredible how the authors displayed the love between Reece and Dani in middle of the trauma. Dani is a strong character and I am amazed. Reece is a complex man with so many facets. You will love this protective and courageous man.

Broad Daylight by Alex Grayson and A.M. Wilson is must read for romantic suspense lovers.

This was one of my most anticipated reads for this year. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. After Pitch Dark, I didn’t think another story would follow. I did hope for these two amazing authors to do another co-write. So when I heard about this book, it was like a dream come true for me. I was so excited to read!

Broad Daylight was a dark twisted masterpiece. I loved every minute of this book. I didn’t want it to end.

Out-freaking-standing!!

My gosh where to start! These characters were amazing! The writing literally had me visualize all the scenes. I truly felt like I was with them every step of the way. I felt their pain, love and all the raw emotions that were bleeding through these pages!

It comes as no surprise that I read this book in one sitting. Why should you read this…hmmm, I’m honest and sincere when I say that this is a thriller that has the HEA I crave. Yes, there’s a bit of angst but it wasn’t as nerve racking as I thought it would be!

A. Must. Read.

This was awesome! Dark and disturbing but also sexy and just what I hoped it would be! This is a sequel to pitch dark but follows Niko's brother Reece. He starts having strange and disturbing things happen and brings an old flame Dani back into his life.
This was so good. I couldn't stop reading. It definitely a dark delight and I couldn't have asked for a better read. I ate this up!

This was another fantastic book from this dark co writing duo and I certainly hope this isn't the last time they combine forces.
From cover to cover I was transfixed, sure a lot of I definitely wasn't an easy read but it was worth every second of it.
This couple's love story started from a young age, the horrors of life tearing them apart for decades, but will different but similar horrors bring them back together to start anew?
The strength of both of them blew my mind during and after their traumatic experience, but will that be enough?
This dark and gritty plot will run you through a gamut of emotions more than once and this story will stick with you for a long time.
Highly recommend.

Broad Daylight by A.M. Wilson and A. Grayson is the sequel to Pitch Dark. The book can be read as a stand-alone, anyway, I recommend to read the books in order.
BD is a dark read, contains sensitive content that is not for the faint of heart, consider you warned.
Reece catched the eye of someone, lets say, who has no good intentions toward him. And caught in the line is Dani, a woman Reece shares a past with.
Both are held in a house that already made an appearance in the first book, sorry not sorry, no more spoilers here. Only so much - the reader is in for a fast paced, heartwrenchingly ride that will leave you breath- and speechless.
An intense thriller full of twists and turns at every end. A fantastic read that stays with you.

This story is remarkable and one that I was anxious to read. Pitch Dark was incredible so I knew going in this would be just as good…or better. It’s dark, gritty, and one heck of a page turner. It’s also a story of survival and hope and determination. You will not be able to put this down. Loved Reece and Dani and their sheer will to live makes this a must read one you cannot miss!!

Wow...
I can only tell you that you need to buckle up for this one
Preferably a three-point harness
It is that wild of a ride

I do not know if this is listed as a standalone or not I will heavily suggest if you are reading Pitch Dark you read it previous to this only because it has spoilers

This is a slow build to horror land.
The first couple chapters are spent getting to know the main characters. Reece who is a self-proclaimed forever single man, heck he doesn't even risk getting his toes wet. Some of the town folk, his family, the not living there stalker across the ...
Nice try
While we are slowly settling into the small-town life we also become aware something doesn't feel right. We begin to question the simplest of hellos, the strange car, reality.

Like the previous book, the littlest slip could SPOIL the entire story, and I am not risking ruining it.
There are secrets, betrayals, revelations, and romance
There is suspense, blood, pain, torture, horror
It is a very dark thriller - It takes the reader into the mind of a truly insane killer. No punches are held here.
At the same time, there is the development of a beautiful romance one I as a reader was wholly invested in
Just know going in this leans towards horror during many scenes, it will test the resolve of even the strongest of dark romance lovers

In the end?
It was worth the white-knuckling, blood pounding heart-racing anxiety with each page I turned

This is mind blowing. It's Reece and Dani's story and the sequel to Pitch Dark. Technically you could read that as a a stand alone, however there are quite a few connections (including all the events leading up to this book) and subtleties which you will miss out on if you don't read Pitch Dark first which I do highly recommend.

Reece turned away from love and surrounded himself in a life of work and keeping people at arms length after he watched the pain his brother Niko went through when his best friend went missing. Dani was the girl Reece had fallen in love with back in his school days and who Reece had left when Niko's best friend went missing.

Weird things start happening to Reece, and Dani who has just returned to Westbridge is assigned his case by her Captain. It's clear that neither Reece or Dani are comfortable with this and that both still have deep rooted feelings for each other all these years later, but neither will admit to this. Events escalate and Reece finds his life and Dani's spiralling out of control at the hands of a sadistic stalker. Now to survive both Reece and Dani are forced to not only face their past but to perform unspeakable acts on each other. Their survival depends not only on satisfing their perverted stalker but on each other.

This a dark dark story, one which will have you turning pages but also one which you will need to put down from time to time in order to give you time to process the events which take place.

This is the follow on story to Pitch Dark and follows the story of Reece, Niko's brother. This second installment is equally dark and twisted with grotesque violence and potentially triggering content (sexual violence and torture).

As Pitch Dark followed Niko and his emotional healing from losing his childhood love, Broad Daylight follows Reece and his enduring love for his teenage sweetheart Dani. Reece is emotionally damaged following the pain he saw his brother endure at the disappearance of his soul mate. Reece makes some odd decisions in his younger days to save himself from hurt. 20 years later Dani isn't so keen to reconcile.

When circumstances force them together to survive their bond is reaffirmed and a new relationship is formed. It is difficult to talk about this book without giving anything away. It is gripping and chilling and dark. Reece is gruff and isolated. Dani is committed to her role as a Detective and to her family. What these two endure together through this book is painful and challenging to read. But it such a great story and their relationship is stronger and weirdly more romantic for it.

This is a dark, slow burn, violent crime romance.

Technically, this story can be read as a stand-a-lone, BUT trust me when I say, you HAVE TO READ Pitch Dark first. There is so much you will miss and not understand the significance of, if you don't read Pitch Dark first.
This story was different, but has similarities. I know there is a trigger warning at the beginning, but still, the depravity and the cruelty is shocking. I so wanted to strangle Bolt and I'm not a violent person. I hurt for both Reece and Dani for their pasts, knowing that neither expected nor wanted a reunion, but puzzle pieces brought them back together. I was amazed of the strength they each drew upon from within and from each other to weather the storm of events. I can't explain why, but I felt such a connection to Reece and Dani. Maybe because I enjoy second change genre so much.
When these two authors come together, there's such intensity and darkness, but eventually a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you Author Alex Grayson for the "nugget" within!

Every single time I start a book written by Alex Grayson, I have palpitations. I'm afraid to start because I know it will gut me (and in some cases that gutting is literal) even though I know in the end, the journey will all be worth it. This one even more so because I remember the feeling of reading Pitch Dark, the first story in this series (and yes you SHOULD read that one first because it will really give dimension to Reece's story). This was edge of your seat madness. It was so hard to read, yet you couldn't look away. A trainwreck in the best of ways. When you spend most of your life protecting your heart, how do you let go to protect the one person who ever got in? When forced to endure unimaginable things, how do you push yourself to survive? Reece and Dani have a lifetime of pain behind them and ahead of them. Can they survive? Will they even want to?

If you’re looking for a sweet book that will give you all the warm and fuzzy feelings, this is not the book. If you want something that is on the darker side of things, and is a psychological thriller, this is definitely the one. The places these two authors take their characters is not for the faint of heart. The relationship between Dani and Reece was both tragic and beautiful all at once. There are a lot of WTF moments that you just couldn’t believe were happening. There’s this character named Bolt that is the absolute worst and should make you feel all kinds of stabby. I also love that we got to see Niko and Aislin again and see where they are now. This book might not be for everyone but I loved it and would definitely recommend it.

This is the sequel for Pitch Dark. Reece works hard to earn an honest living, and he keeps to himself. When strange things start happening to him, he has no option buy to report the incidents, and the only women he has ever loved Dani, comes back to town to head the investigation. Reece will do what ever he must to protect Dani and keep her safe when she becomes the target of his stalker, even to the extent of sacrificing himself. This is a well written story which had me on tenterhooks throughout, and is a dark, raw, gritty, and intense story, with danger, suspense, and emotions, which all leads to a twisted and riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this dynamic duo of authors, who has done a fantastic job in weaving the tale.

This book was just wow. I don't even know how to put my feelings for this read into words.

Each page I turned I became more and more scared. Just waiting for that stalker to come for Reece and when they did it was a breath stealing moment. But that was only the beginning. What happened after that was even more twisted.

What got me about this story was what Reece had to go through and what it made him realize about himself, his life, and those he loved. So many emotions coursing through me as I read this.

I am being vague in my review because you just have to read this book and go in without any spoilers because it will have you on the edge of your seat and your head reeling.

A 5 ++++ star read for me.

WoW!!!! What a devastatingly great book. As with the first book Pitch Dark, if you have triggers please heed the warnings before starting and I highly suggest reading book 1 first. Reece and Dani's story while different than the first is no less powerful. I will be honest that I had to take some breaks while reading this because it isn't an easy read and some scene's made me a bit squeamish. This book is beautifully written considering the dark and sometimes sinister events that take place and take you on a roller coaster of emotions. I hope that these author will write additional collaborations in the future as I quite enjoyed there seamless writing style. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.

4.5 stars! Another awesomely creepy, gritty thrill ride from A.M. Wilson and Alex Grayson. While not as jaw dropping as Pitch Dark, this book had plenty of twists and turns that left me gasping. I enjoyed learning more about Reece and it was interesting to see Aislin’s kidnapping from his point of view. I found Danica to be really relatable and loved how badass she was, especially how she handled herself in a male dominated field. Definite trigger warnings. This is a dark book, but the strength and perseverance Reece and Danica find individually and in each other really brings everything together. As much as I hated Bolt, the way she was written is spectacular. Her character is unapologetically twisted and revels in it. Loved the ending and how it all came full circle. Another great book in this series! *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. **Check trigger warnings!**

What a mind bending mess that will leave you in a state of unease.
But it's so good no matter how uncomfortable you are you won't be able to stop yourself from finishing.
PLEASE take the trigger warnings seriously. As someone who doesn't generally have strong reactions to triggers I can say there are some uncomfortable situations.
I kind of wish I had read the first book it's not necessary but I wish I would have had more background in some areas.
Either way if you like suspense, psychological torture, a bold alpha male lead and a strong independent female lead, then this book is for you.

I have voluntarily left this review.

Rating 5/5
Plot 5/5
Spice 2/5
Character Development 5/5

"Broad Daylight" is the second book in A.M. Wilson's series. While this is a series that can be read as a standalone, I suggest reading "Pitch Dark" first to better understand the series (also because it's absolutely amazing too). There were many dark twists and this book includes many dark triggers so make sure to check the warnings before reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and characters in Broad Daylight. This book was intense and had me reading until the very end! This series was my first read by A.M. Wilson, but it won't be the last. I look forward to reading Wilson's future work.
