Timing is everything.

Presley Hale and Sebastian Vargas are no strangers to goodbye. Their high school summers were spent wrapped up in each other until she would inevitably go home to California. One season after college, Sebastian finally escaped the little Texas town to travel the world, and they said goodbye for what they thought might be the last time.

If you love a great small town romance with a bit of a rom-com feel, Friends with Benedicts is the book for you. I’ll be honest, it has a troupe I normally don’t love, but I feel like it was handled better than normal and the book was so lovely, I was happy I was able to overlook it.

Presley and Sebastian had a long standing summer romance. When Presley would visit her cousins in Texas each summer, she and Sebastian would end up together. When summer was over, so were they… until the

Another small town romantic comedy gem from Staci Hart! Friends With Benedicts was the perfect blend of humor, romance, and drama to keep me hooked like a guppy from the first page until the very last. I absolutely loved the main characters and so many of the side characters stole the show, too! I fell in love with the small town, with both its heroes and its villains. I found myself just as invested in what was going on with the superstore and mayor as I was in seeing our main characters get th ...more

Staci Hart is back with her second take at small town romance and I’ve been ready for it ever since finishing Bet the Farm. Friends with Benedicts can be considered a spin-off of that one (which I highly recommend!) but can totally be read as a standalone. I love a feel-good love story and Staci is a master when it comes to those. This one was no exception, it was a light read, with a bit of drama, a couple wit

not at me realizing midway through the book that the main character is from Bet The Farm which i have read, but i have obviously forgotten about it already. just want to say that little Priscilla was my favorite character in the book and one of cutest four year olds.

i'm not a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope, but cute animated covers are my weakness so..

Favorite Quotes:

Lightning struck me dead to the spot—shock, I realized distantly. The sensation was followed by the frying of my ovaries like a couple of unsuspecting eggs. Sebastian Vargas had that effect on me and my eggs. I turned, smiling through my surprise. And there he stood, tall, dark, and smirking at me in that way that made all the girls fling their panties at him.

It’s our curse. Our men either die young or leave. So just make sure he’s healthy and isn’t going anywhere.

With Friends With Benedicts, Staci Hart continues with a small town setting, but pivots the location from California to Texas. The story focuses on waitress Presley Hale and do-gooder/humanitarian Sebastian Vargas, as he returns to Lindenbach, where both he and Presley grew up. Lindenbach is small but full to the brim with quirky characters who color the landscape and present a community that showcases a host of Americana issues.

Hart delivers a romance that is complicated by the history between

Loved! The energy between these two were fantastic, and I became enamored not just with this couple but with the whole town.

Staci Hart offers a sweet and quirky story for lovers of single parent, second chance romance.

Presley and Sebastian have been attracted to each other since they were teens and through the years they’ve had several no strings summer flings. Now they’ve resumed their relationship, but still need to figure out how to grow as a couple.

This is my first Staci Hart book and it won’t be the last. I was absolutely smitten with the small town charm and its inhabitants. I really liked Presley as a stro

Staci Hart was clearly meant to write small town romance- and in this second small town story her mastery of the provincial charm really wows as she takes on a small town powerhouse- the TEXAS tiny town. Her attention to detail, whimsical and optimistic storytelling, her quirky charm, and her propensity to breathe life into an ensemble cast lends themselves beautifully to the trope- and I found myself marvelling even in this literary outing at just what a beautiful marriage her strengths are for ...more

Friends with Benedicts by Staci Hart was a sweet, laugh filled, small-town romantic comedy packed with just the right amount of angst!

What I loved about this book the most was the unity of this small town that banded together to fight for a cause they all believed in. Of course I loved Presley and Sebastian, too. It seemed like they always returned to each other every summer but it's been 5 years since they last seen one another and Presley holds a secret that will forever change Sebastian's lif

4.5 Stars! Loved this! Presley and Priscilla from “Bet the Farm” hit hard times and go to live with her cousins on their farm. In the same town as Priscilla’s dad. Ooooh!

I love a good second chance romance, but not normally the secret baby trope. Leave it to Staci to give us an entirely plausible explanation. Sebastian pretty much cut ties with civilization when he went into the Peace Corps in Africa, and Presley tried her best!

But now they are in the same town and sparks are flying! Not only

This was very, very cute! There were a lot of layers to this story with the town, the characters, and everything they’ve dealt with over the years. Presley and Sebastian definitely handled coming back together fairly well with all the things considered. There was so much between them, and they definitely started to have miscommunications. When everyone’s telling them just to be honest and communicate with each other, and yet they don’t out of fear for what could possibly happen--it was pretty da ...more
Presley & Sebastian were childhood friends turned high school sweethearts who weren’t bound for romantic success when their futures didn’t seem to align. Sebastian wanted to get out of their small Texan town to pursue a job with the Peace Corps, so after graduation that’s exactly what he did. Presley instead moved to California with her mom, but now 5-years later she’s back in Texas, except not by choice.

Presley’s been keeping a secret for the past 4-years & 9 months and her name is Priscilla.

Presley and Sebastian have a long standing agreement, they share a romance in the summers when Presley is in town. It's been a little over four years though and Presley isn't just in town for the summer, she's calling the small Texas town home. Clad in a pink diner outfit with her daughter and mother in tow, Presley turns to her cousins for help as they find their way back on their feet. She isn't prepared to see Sebastian again, to discover the fe

I absolutely adored this story! It is one that just leaves you feeling good and smiling the whole way through. From the laughs, the romance and the little bit of drama you can’t help but fall in love with the characters and the story.

Presley isn’t a stranger to the small town of Lindenbach, Texas. She spent time there growing up and her cousins live there. It is also where she met Sebastian and fell in love with him. However, the two of the them knew that their time together always had an expir

Small town romance who took me by surprise in the beginning but frustrating me tons on some parts.

Some arcs were well rounded and developed, showing how the author could make you swoon and smile just like that. Emotional and sincere.

It started greatly. I adored the beginning, punchy and funky, it made me smile right from the moment the two main characters met again.

Presley and Sebastian never had the right timing. That moment wasn’t an exception but somehow one secret turned their wo

Every time I finish reading a Staci Hart novel there’s bound to be a smile on my face. I was left in a feel good mood and Friends With Benedicts added to my ever growing love of Staci’s writing.

Presley and Sebastian have history. They’ve always had a clear view of what their relationship means, but they also know that what they share is something special. It’s been years since they’ve seen each other and when they lay eyes on one another after five years it’s like no time has passed. I really en

I think Presley and Sebastian are my favorite couple Staci Hart has written. After years of saying goodbye to each other, they finally get a chance to be together for good. Staci Hart gives us a lot of romance, a little bit of angst and throws in some humor and comes out with a winner!

“If the Blum sisters could upset the balance of the solar system, Presley could have swallowed up the universe with the voracity of a black hole.”

“Sometimes we mistakenly figure them for equals. We look at those things we need–money, shelter, and the like–and assume having those things will make us happy. But surviving and living aren’t the same thing. I think we forget that, on occasion. Usually when it matters most.”

Friends With Benedicts is a smartly written small-town romance.

I loved Sebastian and Presley. We know about Presley in the previous book by Staci “Bet the Farm” so I was really excited to read her story and see more of Priscilla. It was an amazing friends to lovers romance and I loved the interactions between Presley and Sebastian.

Presley and her family have to go back home to live with their cousins and she sees Sebastian again, her friend since they were in school and her friend with benefits while she visited in the summer. They had a lot of chemistry an

With every word she writes I devour it as quickly as possible. Friends With Benedicts is Staci Hart perfection. This single parent, second chance, small town love story is one you won't want to miss!

Presley finds herself back to a small Texas town she spent her summers in growing up. With this big change in her life returns Sebastian. Their summers spent together were amazing but their timing for anything more never worked out. Now grown up and holding secrets Presley invol

I absolutely adore when Staci Hart writes small town romance books. She brings all the characters together and makes them unique and includes everyone to be such an integral part of the journey to an HEA.

This is a Staci Hart Fan Account and most likely always will be. Just like with all other Staci Hart books, Friends With Benedicts was fun, beautifully written, and oh so sweet. Presley and Sebastian had some real ish to figure out now that they were in the same place, at the same time, for an extended period (and had a teeny tiny suprise!) and so watching them navigate that and catch up with one another was an absolute treat. Fantastic side characters, wonderful tension, and heartbrea

So I got mixed up on when this one was being published, and when I didn’t get a copy at the end of May, I was sad and thinking I wouldn’t have time to read it. But then I realized it didn’t come out till this week and then I got a copy and was thrilled! The author was able to surprise me in many ways with how things went. First of all, from how Sebastian had ended up being in the midst of a divorce with his ex-wife because he was so adamant about no kids, I was so sure that the talk when Presley ...more

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom to three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, even though she’s certainly not the cleanest, nor is she the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a par ...more
