This novel was very confusing at the beginning, darting from the present to flashbacks, to the present and back again, with a multitude of characters in between. However after the first 75 pages or so it started to make sense and turned out to be a great thriller. It was told by two of the main characters, one in the first person the other an omniscient person, both victims of a mendacious, conniving ogre. It would have been even better had the author included what the ogre was thinking as a backdrop. But then again, that is simply my interpretation. In all, it's a wonderful, page turning novel that will keep your heart racing.
