Good read for those just getting into the prediabetes world. Recipes are varied and good (Miso skirt steak is delicious). Some people complained about “weird” ingredients, which she specifically says earlier in the book that they do on purpose. Great way to try new things.

I gave a 4 only because I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but definitely found some that sound good. I don't know for sure that I have this, but think it's time to think prevention, so....

Thoughts: This is a great resource book for anyone facing a prediabetes diagnosis. The author starts out with information on understanding what it is, the causes (modifiable like inactivity, high blood pressure, weight and non-modifiable ones like age, ethnicity, genetics), the types of diabetes, treatments, and more. She also gives you easy to understand information understanding what carbs and the glycemic index are. There’s a lot of good information here that is clear and easy to understand.

The recipes are clear and concise and contain number of servings, prep and cook times, variations, tips, and nutritional information (yay!). She also notes whether the recipe is gluten free, vegetarian, and more. They are clear, concise, and easy to follow. And most have common ingredients that are not a challenge to find even in small stores, or online.

Recommendation: I would definitely recommend this for anyone facing the challenge of pre-diabetes who needs to get things under control for their health.
