Bold, forceful, and aggressive. Blake Rhodes came into my life at just the right time, rescuing me from the clear and present danger I'd put myself in. But a smoking-hot hook up was all it was supposed to be. One night was all I was offering because I had a mystery to solve back home, a crisis to cover, and the truth to expose. And Ivy Broderick doesn’t have time for anything that isn’t on my own terms, anyway - Blake included.
But men like him don't take no for an answer. They pursue and seize with no remorse, making it impossible to walk away. And when trouble seems to follow me home, having a hero by my side again proves useful. Still, Broderick’s don’t like to be pushed into anything, especially matters of the heart.
And certainly not when he's keeping secrets of his own.
Hailing from the depths of the quiet British countryside, Charlotte likes nothing better than sinking into her characters dark and devious world's. Sometimes they're kinky, sometimes they're twisted, and sometimes they're a serious hold on tight situation, but her stories are always filled with romance and love in some form.
These books keep getting better and better and are seriously addictive. I adored Ivy and Blake’s story so much. Ivy is the Broderick sister who is an investigative journalist going into dangerous places and putting herself directly in danger her latest escapade sees her being rescued by Blake Rhodes ex-military and photographer. Hooking up after Ivy’s jaunt in Afghanistan was only meant to be for one night before she returned to London to try and uncover the mystery surrounding recent events within her high-profile family.
But Meeting Ivy causes Blake to reassess his own life choices certain key events in his own past has had him pushing away all those that were close to him whilst he travels the world chasing his next adventure. Returning to London means these two can now explore their explosive chemistry and tentative feelings in more depth.
I loved both Ivy and Blake as a couple not only did they have such chemistry they were so suited, Ivy is a bundle of unpredictable energy and Blake sort of grounded her he is a natural protector and just what Ivy needs. I also loved how transparent he was once he committed there was no game playing he knows what he wants and is willing to put himself out there whilst Ivy is slightly more reticent at least when it comes to her emotions she is more of an open book in all else and a natural extrovert.
Blake now needs to learn to open himself back up whilst Ivy so used to her own independence struggles to let go and rely on Blake and trust in his feeling towards her she’s used to questioning everything a hazard of her job. There’s also further revelations and plenty of danger and family angst and some shocking secrets that are finally brought to light that could change everything. The finale here was bloody explosive and I was literally on the edge of my seat biting my nails and I definitely was left wanting to know more.
This was as usual fabulously written completely engrossing and whilst it answered some questions it still left so much more unsaid that should finally be revealed in the remaining sister's story and I can’t wait what a ride this was. I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Writer (The Broderick Saga #3).
Oh my goodness! This writing duo is on fire! From the first to the last word, I was completely engaged. From Afghanistan to the home counties, we feel the wanderlust that infects Ivy and Blake. The tension of the situation in which Ivy finds herself at the book's opening is unexpected and portrayed with an intensity which is balanced so well with the coolness emanating from Blake. Both characters leap from the page throughout the book. They are strong, determined, argumentative, passionate and their pairing is nothing short of dynamic. The structure of the story is excellent, combining so many elements to create a thrilling, eventful ride which has a love story as well as a mystery/thriller as its other driving force. Seeing Landon and Willow is so welcome and Neve remains as elusive and mysterious as ever. This series is fantastic. I am totally into it, loving the romances between such different and interesting characters, the unfolding of a dynastic mystery, and the delight of strong minded women who definitely know that their place in the world is at its centre! Brilliant! 💖💖💖💖💖
After reading back to back the previous Teo books in the series, I knew that I must read this one as well. I enjoyed the suspense in all it’s aspects and how different but so perfect fitting these characters are for each other. It was nice to see some mentions of the other couples and that ending definitely let room for lots of theories on my part. Looking forward to seeing where the authors are taking me with this series because it’s addictive and entertaining, plus the romance story has the main spot.
INCREDIBLE!! The Writer, being the third book in The Broderick Saga series, is Ivy Broderick’s story and from the very first chapter is unputdownable! The Muse and The Lawyer are already in my top reads of 2021 and it is my absolute pleasure to be able to add The Writer to that list. Exciting, intriguing, suspenseful, fast-moving, heart-pounding, fascinating and enthralling are some of the words I’d use to describe this narrative. I cannot wait for you to read it!
Ivy’s story makes compelling reading. As a journalist she seems to find herself in the most dangerous of situations and that’s due to her investigative nature. She meets Blake during one of many intense scenes in this book. Blake isn’t the man I initially thought he was going to be - which I loved and I felt this only made them even more perfect for each other. Their physical attraction to one another is instantaneous, and the sexual chemistry between them is as explosive as the situations they find themselves in. Both Blake and Ivy have strong and determined personalities, which at times made me consider that they wouldn’t be able to have a relationship outside of the bedroom…. but I sincerely wanted them to!
Charlotte E. Hart and Rachel De Lune are writing this series perfectly. I’ve found every story to be addictive reading. I love how even though each book is penned to highlight one of the Broderick children, that as the series progresses, the authors are weaving the individual stories together flawlessly. I have loved learning more about Ivy whilst reading The Writer, and I have thoroughly enjoyed witnessing both Ivy and Blake’s personal journeys throughout the story too. I absolutely love the details that this particular book has uncovered, and I am now desperate to discover what happens next in Neve’s story, which releases September 13th 2021 and is titled The Fallen.
I highly recommend that you not only read The Writer, but The Muse and The Lawyer too. There is not a character nor a storyline that I haven’t absolutely loved. I have no doubts that Neve’s story will close the series magnificently - which excites me! I cannot wait to read this final instalment.
Before I opened this book, I knew that I was going to love it, but actually it blew me away.
The Writer is book 3 in the Broderick Saga, and Journalist Ivy’s story. From the minute you start reading, the story is action packed and gets the adrenaline pumping. You are taken straight into Ivy getting herself into trouble, which seems to be a familiar position that she puts herself in. Blake the sexy ex Military photographer is in the right place at the right time to be her saviour!
Blake is a natural protector, and although frustrated by Ivy’s lack of common sense where her personal safety is concerned he can't help but ensure she is always protected. Ivy is fiercely independent, loves her career but is also impulsive.
Both are attracted to each other, and when Black invites Ivy for a drink, things start to explode between these two. The way that they just fit each other, and their chemistry and feelings progresses things between them far quicker that either understand. They are both battling issues, distractions and secrets in their lives. Will all of these stop Blake and Ivy moving forward, can they move forward when unwilling to give themselves completely.
The action packed twists and turns make the story line unpredictable and I loved that about this book. Charlotte and Rachel manage to keep the plot line running through each book in this series, whilst making each book different. We also see more of family, the dynamics, and some answers to questions raised in the previous books, while leaving you intrigued for Book 4.
The ending of The Writer, leads us straight into The Fallen, but don’t think you know what's coming, I have a feeling this incredible writing duo are going to surprise us even more in this book and keep us waiting for the answers we are waiting for.
Whilst I am tapping my toes waiting for the final Installment, I am also a little sad that it is coming to an end. This series will go down as a firm favorite for 2021.
Well now I understand the title of the next book, The Fallen. The Writer does end on a pretty significant cliffhanger. This book, The Writer is Ivy Broderick and Blake Rhodes story. Ivy is the second eldest with Landon being the oldest Broderick.
They meet while Blake is trying to save Ivy’s life. They are in the middle east. Ivy is a freelance reporter and she was supposed to interview Asif Hussain when things went “a little sideways”. Now Ivy needs rescuing and Blake is just the man to do it. Little did she know he was a photographer working with the Army, not for the Army. After-all he shoots those big guns just like he knew what he was doing.
It seems that Blake is the hero again a little later on in the book. He isn’t going to let anything happen to Ivy.
This was another enjoyable book, seamlessly co-written by these 2 authors. I am really looking forward to reading the next book and conclusion , The Fallen, to come out! The Expected publication is September 13th.
There are 4 books in this series. The Muse - Persephone Broderick and Scott Foxton The Lawyer - Landon Broderick and Willow Etherington The Writer - Ivy Broderick and Blake Rhodes
Secrets galore, mystery, suspense, action and a slow burn romance allbeit with super hot fiery, steamy chemistry..... I couldn't wait to read Ivy's story after being left hanging after the enticing, nailbiting epilogue in the previous book, The Lawyer. I was not disappointed at all!
Journalist Ivy Broderick seems to attract trouble, even as she attracts Blake Rhodes, a sexy, level headed ex military photographer, in the middle of a war zone. She's fearless, feisty and determined but with a reckless streak that made it seem like she felt she always had something to prove. Luckily for her she had a hero with a wonderful protective streak on hand!
The story starts off with a bang, continuing straight on from the end of the previous book. The authors then allowed us to catch a small breath in what felt like the calm before the storm as Ivy and Blake explored their budding relationship. Then bam!! The second half certainly packed a punch as the tension and suspense built until the very unexpected revelations at the end!
Both had secrets and reasons not to want a relationship. I wondered at times if they'd ever get past their insecurities, especially Ivy, but some connections really can't be ignored and I loved the way they slowly started to recognise and accept their growing feelings.
Each book in the series does focus on a different couple, involving a Broderick sibling, but the story intertwines throughout with an overarching plot and a family feud whose secrets are now unravelling. With a shocking twist at the end, I know I'm going to be on tenterhooks until the final book is released!
Ivy Broderick, the brilliant journalist who follows a story without regard for her own safety finds herself escaping one captive situation and running from another. Only this time the distant sounds of gunfire are gaining momentum and her green eyed savior says he’s her only chance to get out of here. Blake can’t believe she’s alone, no contact, no pick up. She should know better! When these two finally relax, settle in with a couple of drinks, the gunfire can’t compare to the explosive chemistry between them. Ivy and Blake are exciting on their own, but together, they reach unbelievable levels. Fast-paced action, intriguing characters that are thoughtful and bold, and exciting suspense that reveals more of the Broderick family’s secrets.
I was excited to get Ivy's story and boy was it explosive! What a firecracker! I could relate to her personality! When Blake and the army rescued Ivy in Afghanistan he was blindsided by her. Never had he met a woman that was Trouble with a capital T. After being reunited back in London their relationship grew. Still trouble followed her! As evil lurks in the darkness he finds the perfect opportunity to strike. Some secrets are suppose to be buried forever while others are meant to be revealed. A masterpiece series you definitely should read starting with the first book The Muse! Can't wait for next installment!!
Wow another amazing read in the Broderick saga. Can’t wait for the last book now. Ivy, a journalist, and Blake, a photographer, are thrown together in Afghanistan after Ivy escapes kidnapper. They both come back to London and meet up. Blake wants to try and see if their relationship will go anywhere but Ivy is not willing to open up her heart. More family drama brings this edition to a head.
Book 3 in the Broderick series and it is getting better and better. This book focuses on Ivy the journalist, Ivy's job can put her in danger and this time she is rescued by Blake a photographer and ex military. Sparks fly between these two, can they make it work?. Full of action and plenty of twists and turns, make for a fantastic read. These two authors are on a winning streak and I cannot wait for book 4
Book 1 was great. Book 2 was even better. So I had high hopes for The Writer! And oh my heavens!!! Charlotte E Hart and Rachel de Lune didn't fail me at all! This series has just gone from strength to strength. Blake and Ivy. The photographer and the journalist. Lots of mysteries, tons of action and plenty of hotness made this compelling reading. Best of all, the authors keep you guessing at what's going to happen next! I really can't wait for the final installment now...
I have to say that I wasn't prepared to like another story in this series more than The Lawyer (Book 2), but color me shocked as The Writer was EPIC! This dynamic duo is just getting better & better if possible with each new book they write together, and frankly, The Broderick Saga will be a series that I revisit over & over again. The Writer follows journalist Ivy Broderick who is brave to the point of being reckless in pursuit of a story. She meets Blake during one of those dangerous times she got herself into, and the sparks were flying like crazy so they hook up. Little did they know that they would see each other again, and the chemistry they share isn't a given, nope, it's special so their journey isn't over by a long shot despite the wanderlust they both share. Luckily for her, he has a protective gene to offset her reckless gene, so their journey is off the charts exciting. The twists are coming in hot all over the place so this is a thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat like it did me. I didn't do anything until every last page was devoured, and now I'm ready for more since all my questions haven't been answered! Everyone needs this story in their lives, hell this series to be honest so get to one clicking for one hell of a ride! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The energy throughout The Writer was compelling and will consume your mind. Blake and Ivy are a spectacular couple, whose connection felt so deep and so right. The action throughout kept me on the edge of my seat and the mystery unravelling, sang to my inner Ms Marple. It's been a while since a series has captivated my attention so much and it's safe to say that Broderick Saga is fast becoming one of my favourites. Each book surpasses my expectations. Each sibling is proving to be fascinating and as the series progresses, the understanding of the family dynamics is enthralling. I’m now eagerly awaiting the final installment.
I have to say The Broderick Saga is unlike anything I have read in a very long time. Every story is intertwined with the larger story but every story is single handled with each love story of a sibling. So you have to read each story in order. I am so obsessed with this saga that I can not wait for the next one!
In The Writer we start where we ended in the last book, with Ivy's story. Ivy is a very independent women that is in Afghanistan as a Journalist. This is where she meets Blake, a photographer who likes to be solo wherever he goes. These two have instant chemistry and take full advantage of it.
You would think these two would be under attack in Afghanistan, but it ends up being at home in London that makes their lives more in danger than ever. The Broderick family have secrets that date back generations and Ivy is bound and determine to find them. But at what cost to the family will she unearth these secrets?
wow what amazing read on this series as it keeps getting hotter and with this duel writing these 2 authors have again wrote a steaming read. this isthe 3rd book in this series and it is Ivy and Blake’s story that is just sweet and has you pulled in to this story.
The Writer by Charlotte E. Hart & Rachel De Lune is book Three in The Broderick Saga. This is the story of Ivy Broderick and Blake Rhodes. I have read and loved the previous books but did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Ivy is a journalist who ends up being in danger in Afghanistan and in need of being rescued. Blake is a photographer but also ex-military and this leads him to swoop in and save Ivy. This series has been so good and this book just kept that going. I so enjoy these two author's writing and will be looking for more from them.

The third book in The Broderick Saga series and to me the best one so far. Absolutely loved it. The enthralling love story of Ivy Broderick and Blake Rhodes is an action packed tale full of murder and mayhem. A brilliant thriller full of intrigue and mystery as well as romance. I couldn’t put the book down and was engrossed in finding out the answers as much as Ivy was. From the first two book we know the Broderick Family relationships are complicated, not only amongst themselves but also their love interests. The authors have teased us with the secrets they all keep while each book has been a fascinating insight into each sibling’s love-life.
Blake is absolutely lovely and my favourite character of the series. Ivy is superb, a feisty, determined and gritty woman. She behaved in a way a good heroine should and didn’t show any weakness when faced with adversity. She didn’t back away from any situation and worked hard in her pursuit of the truth like the good investigative journalist she was. At the end of The Lawyer, Ivy had been kidnapped by terrorists and was in the process of being rescued. The tension and action in Afghanistan was really gripping and the authors set the scene really well. The interaction between Ivy and Blake was fun as she showed him what an independent and capable woman she was. At first Blake is just trying to keep her safe but then their attraction and connection is so strong, he had to do something about what he was feeling.
Blake is definitely a great hero, protector, and lived up to his ‘saviour’ mantle. He sees how unsure Ivy is and that she doesn't yet trust her feelings for him. How he worked out the best way to persuade Ivy to give him a chance was inspired and well thought out. His possessiveness and jealousy was sweet as he finally accepted his feelings for her. She never saw Blake coming or her feelings towards him so she’s very confused as she never does relationships or commitment. She is cross at him for being a closed book and keeping his past private but she is just as bad and tells him very little about herself. When he finally opens up she realise why he’s the way he is and why he is so protective of her since they met. Your heart will go out to him.
As their relationship hots up so does the action and drama. This couple have amazing chemistry together and they perform well under pressure. It is going to be interesting when we find out who is behind it all and why. They compliment each other and the sparks really explode in the bedroom. Blake tries to understand the dynamics of the Broderick family, why the spiteful comments between them all, the secrets and all the histrionics.
I felt sorry for Ivy when she admits how much she wanted the CEO job at Broderick Media. She is more qualified than her brother as it is her line of work but her father is old fashioned and only sees Landon as his heir to the family business. The ironic twist is he didn’t want it, he was happy being a lawyer and the way he is fighting with his dad, I wonder if Ivy might eventually get her wish. I hope we get to see a bit more of this couple as I got the feeling they will work well together as a team, her writing and him taking the photos to go with her articles.
Willow comes into her own and I found she made me laugh with her antics. She showed a lot of backbone putting up with his dad and how she is still content to wait for Landon to sort himself out. It was nice seeing Landon finally stand up to his father over his relationship with her. We don’t get much of Seffi and Scott until the end when the family are forced to get together.
We finally get their father’s answers to the reason for the feud but it definitely seems there is more to come as he is somewhat vague with his explanation. Could the feud really be the catalyst for all that happens in this book or is there something more sinister behind it. Ivy’s research into the dead author produces more revelations and we are left wondering what consequences her findings mean to the family. How will it affect them? Has Landon at last found a reason to keep Scott Foxton away from Seffi?
The mystery surrounding Neve has been building and building expertly and now we are left with so much intrigue about her. Ivy is beginning to think she is avoiding everyone and can’t understand why she’s not helping them with the situation they all in and the secrets their dad is hiding. Does she already know more then they do? My anticipation for her story is now very high after the shocking cliffhanger. Fantastic book which is a well written and exciting read.

An action packed, spectacular story that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. This story is the third part of the series and it’s a series that needs to be read in order because each book leads into the next. In this one we meet Ivy Broderick, a feisty, independent, fiery and all round fabulous, kick a## lady. Her story is filled with danger, passion and intrigue and when you add the deliciously handsome and heroic Blake into the mix it becomes a truly spectacular tale as they manoeuvre from one thrilling moment to the next and the passion between them… hot as hell during a heatwave! Everything about this story, hell this series is brilliant and I can’t wait to read the final instalment and hopefully get the answers to all the questions I have. Truly wonderful storytelling!
Holy wow! Omg this book was brilliant and I totally love the whole series. Each book gets better and better.
This is Ivy’s story and as the Writer of the family, you can imagine the things she digs up. And Blake Rhodes, sigh… he is just amazing and totally head over heels in love with Ivy. They first meet after he saves her in Afghanistan and again when they both kidnapped after returning home. So many twists. I absolutely love these two.
The ending left me hanging sooooooo much and I can’t wait to read the final book to see where this goes!
The Writer is book 3 in The Broderick Saga and should be read in order to get to know the family and the mystery surrounding them. The Writer follows Ivy Broderick, she’s daring and doesn’t take crap from anyone. She seems to run into danger. Lucky for her she has her own hero, Blake. I enjoyed his protective nature and need to take care of Ivy. Each book leaves on a cliffhanger of sorts and I’m trying here for the next book after that WTF moment The Writer ends on.
I was kindly given an Arc in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I have given it 5 stars but would have gladly given it more....
So Landon is still my favourite Broderick sibling but Ivy comes a close second after reading The Writer.
I loved it! I was pulled in to the story from the very first word with action and sizzling hot chemistry. This writer duo did not disappoint with the third book in this series with each story just seeming to get better and better.
This book has it all and after that ending I can't wait for The Fallen.
Damn! This series just keeps getting better and better! This book just blew me away! Super intense, engaging, breathtaking, heartbreaking, fast paced love story that just grabs a hold of you and never let’s go!! I loved everything about this storyline and and dying to get to book 4 - The Fallen! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story is smoking hot! Only a Broderick could find love in a war zone. This story is full of intrigue and suspense. By the end of this story, I really was not sure who was good and who had done wrong! Book #4 should be epic. I am eager to find out all the who done its, and the who did its? (haha)
Ivy Broderick is a bad-ass reporter who often finds herself in harms way. During an interview in the Middle East that goes bad, she is rescued by Blake Rhodes. Blake is ex military and now an army photographer, and they share a night of conversation and passion. Ivy brings back thoughts of home and family. Blake has memories that need to be dealt with. Ivy needs to get back to London to help with family issues when Blake comes into her life again. Ivy is again in danger and Blake will protect her, even from her own family. I enjoyed this book so much. It does end on a huge cliffhanger, but the next book is out around September. That gives you time to read all 3 before The Fallen is released.
This was book is my favorite in the series. I loved the action and the chemistry between Ivy and Blake. Ivy tends to get herself into trouble and is lucky enough to have Blake help get her out of it. There still much to learn about the family secrets and the ending was a major surprise. Can’t wait for next book. I have to know all of the Broderick's secrets.
Now that I know how interconnected these stories are I'm even more invested. Each book focuses on one sibling intermixed with characters from the previous books as the big discovery or rather mystery is solved. At first the endings baffled me as to how they were ending because its not really even a happy for now. Instead, it is the end of the book from that characters point of view before the story picks up right where it left off to start again from the new character and their story. I can't wait to get answers in the conclusion with Neve.
In this third book of the Broderick Saga, Ivy, a writer, finds herself kidnapped in Kabul. Coming to the rescue is Blake. He is a soldier turned photographer who was in the right place at the right time. Both feel some type of connection to each other but Ivy runs home to London to escape Afghanistan. Blake, who can't ignore the connection, quickly follows her. Back in London, both find themselves in interesting situations and need the other to help. Opinion This may be my favorite of the series yet. For those of you who have yet to read the other books, it can be read as a stand alone but is SO much better in the series. With a fourth book soon to publish, you may want to wait for its release as you will find yourself consuming these well written books. I may find this one more appealing as I used to be a soldier in the US Army or maybe the danger just makes their situation more dire. Whatever the pull, this book is hands down a great one. Many thanks to Bare Naked Words for providing me with an ARC of this book.
I loved Ivy and Blake's thrilling story! Murder and mystery mixed in with hot chemistry made for an exciting read! Ivy can't help but dig deeper to get the answers to her questions, and Blake just can't let her go unprotected. This masterful writing duo seamlessly put together an amazing series, and The Writer was the perfect addition to this saga!
