She’s worked for me for years. But I haven’t noticed her until now.
I run my farm with an iron fist. I don’t care who I offend. My word is law. But I give her free reign in my office.
Now a scandal has forced me to fire an employee. Operations are quickly falling apart. I need her help getting things back on track.
Except I just walked in on her naked. And I can’t stop fantasizing about all the filthy things I want to do to her.
But inappropriate fantasies are fine as long as you don’t act on them.
Right?
Devil is a steamy Southern small town, workplace/office, standalone romance and part of a series about a bunch of hot brothers. There is no cheating and it has a HEA. It’s not necessary to read the other books before this one.
4 star review of Devil (The King Brothers #2) by K D Elizabeth
This book is Alex and Andrea’s story and although a short read it ticked a lot of boxes for me. Alex is known for his fiery tempter which matches his hair colour and yet there is so much more to him than just the colour of his hair. Alex has s much responsibility and is struggling after he just fired his trusted foreman for unethical behaviour. Has he made the right decision or will it all come crashing own around him. As he leans on Andrea to help him the fire and passion between them will ignite. Alex is such a strong person that he can be overpowering. Does he dare cross the line between boss and employee or should he deny the chemistry that is crackling between them. There are some twists and turns that added to the story and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I am loving these King brothers! The strong bond they share is so heartwarming and their constant banter is hilarious.
Axel and Andrea's story is so sweet. It's full of explosive emotions, scorching love scenes, and endearing conversations. Axel is a hot-headed, grumpy man, but you'll be swooning over him by the end.

The heroine kept chasing the hero who was an asshole and didn't have nearly enough redeeming qualities. I honestly don't understand what she saw in him. He made some offensive and misogynistic comments and he really meant them. And the heroine kept chasing him, as if he was worth even a second of her time. I was planning on giving this 2 stars, until the end. He fired her without letting her explain. I was so annoyed when he kept asking questions and when she's try to respond, he'd cut her off and continue with his tirade. And after he cooled off and realized that he needed her, he only called her a couple of times a day for a week and that was it. If he really cared and missed her, he would've tried to find her in person and try to explain and apologize. He'd send her gifts or flowers, made an effort to show her that he messed up and was sorry. But he did nothing. And in the end, she was the one who came to him. He was 'planning' to go and speak with her in person. after week of no contact, but she was the one who went to him, so his intention meant nothing. Some men are just not worth the effort, and the hero here wasn't worth anything, he had nothing to offer the heroine, and she settled for him, which is very sad.
A cute but steamy novella that made me fall in love with it immediately!
Axel is the tough guy who has a bad temper but is the most caring underneath it. He also deals with dyscalculia and I found myself relating to him (I haven't been diagnosed but am the same way), I loved that; it's not something that is represented in books enough. Andrea is strong and loving, and she won't back down so easily.
Axel swears he hasn't have feelings for Andrea other than just as an employee but then gets so jealous when someone else even looks at her way! I love the small town setting so much and the fact that they have a farm where they grow peaches, it's so cool. The way it's balanced into the romance is everything.
It's incredible how the romance is a slow burn even when this is a quite fast paced novella. It's done so brilliantly. I was rooting for the characters immediately and waiting until they would realize their deeper feelings towards each other, that everyone else saw but themselves.
The chemistry between Axel and Andrea is amazing, it's like literal sparks fly. There's this undeniable connection and there's so much tension between them but neither of them want to admit it. But then when they do... They are so cute, I can't even. Eeh my heart!
"I love you. I am in love with you. Hopelessly. - I want you to stay here with me forever. I can't imagine anything else in my life ever being so perfect, so right, than how I feel when I'm with you."
The Red Devil is such a headstrong hero and Andrea even more persistent heroine. I loved their interactions and how over the years they didn't seem to be attracted to each other. One eventful afternoon and dynamics between them changes instantly. Will there be a chance for them to act on this attraction and undeniable chemistry? What if it is too late for Alex to try to convince himself and Andrea that being together even if being in boss employee relationship would work? The story line paces nicely, there are some twists that surprised me. Plot brings a lot of action so there is no place for a boredom with those two. Story said from the hero's perspective adds a little bit of mystery as to what heroine would think and/or do. Great hot sexy scenes and palpable sexual tension between main characters. And even grumpy Alex is very lovable character. Great read that kept me entertained. Can't wait for the next brother and hope to see more of the family drama.
Good simple romance I found the romance good, simple, but very well written with good characters, either quite direct like Andrea, or rough like Axel. He thinks after acting and, he regrets it often, but he does it honestly. Axel looks after a large peach farm while the rest of his family works in other trades. He is authoritarian, and has annoyed a good part of his team when he returns a former worker who betrayed the company, but at the same time, because of problems of dyscalculia, he gets closer to his accountant, Andréa, who is just as tough as him. She has spent her time hiding her body so as not to be bothered by men because she is the only woman and when on a bet, Axel really discovers her, he is quickly disturbed by his attraction for his employee. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
And the story keeps going! I love these King Brothers! We get to know Axel in this story. He is the oldest and has been in charge of the family farm. Axel is a stubborn, my way or the highway kindof guy, no one seems to get through to him but Andrea.
This story has a bunch of twists and turns, but in the end it’s a story of a boy and a girl realizing what’s really important. KD Elizabeth writes a story that will suck you in and not let you go. She gives her characters heart and vulnerability which makes them relatable and in turn makes you care about them.
There are a bunch of King brothers, we’ve met 2, I can’t wait to meet the rest!
This is book 2 in the series, but I feel like it can be read as a stand alone. I like this story. It's not perfect, the main character definitely has some personality flaws but the heroine is understanding. This is the first romance I have read with such a strong learning disability element. Dyscalculia is a prominent problem for the hero and I think it's handled in a way that makes it believable. His frustration, her understanding, it makes the story feel more genuine. The sexual chemistry is not lacking between the two either.
He is the only one in the family with red hair and he has a temper to match. He says it as he sees it and he takes no prisoners. His firm is doing well and he has two loyal employees .He sacks one because they did something he did not approve of. Now he needs help from her. Just one problem he walked in on her while she was naked. What will he do? Can he work with her? See what happens

Devil was a great friends to lovers romance. Axel and Andrea are both hard workers who have worked by each other's sides for years. Andrea has always made him feel normal, and I couldn't love her morefor it. As Axel goes through and faces a series of disterous events at the farm he discovers things he hasn't before. Andrea helps him discover a lot of truths about both the farm and axel himself. 5/5 stars from me.
This is Axel's story and it is a really good read. There is lots of twist and turns. Axel comes off as a person that expect things to be the way he wants but over the course of the story and the events that unfold you can see a change in him. You just never know what you might get in this book. Plus when you add Andrea into the equation things get rather interesting. Overall I really enjoyed this book.
So hot!!!!!!!!!!! The red devil of the King's family is at his wits ends with all the unexpected accidents going on on the farm and his attraction to Andrea. Well written, you could believe the chemistry between the characters and it kept me entertained.

I'm loving this series of shorter stories told from the man's point of view. In this second book, we meet broody Axel who dislikes most people except for his accountant, Andrea. These two have been in each other's pocket for years before realizing their chemistry is off the charts. I'm excited for Griffin's book next!
Work relationships are difficult but 9 times out of 10, I bet most couples meet at work or school. It was hard for me to get that he didn’t want her until she saw her naked. But. Then you keep reading and realize that he actually loved her all along, he just needed a the naked boost to get him to realize it.
A great steamy read. The story was well written, the chemistry between the characters was steamy. The book kept me interested till the end. I couldn't put it down. A great read.

Absolutely love this book! It’s a short story but it so well written and the characters have substance. I love how Axel and Andrea come together.. they’ve worked together for years and never once looked at each other that way. I highly recommend this book.
This book grabs you right from the start and keeps you interesting till the very end. Good characters and story line. Another stand alone read. Looking forward to more from this author
That's actually what he wants people to think but he was hiding some truths. What he did for Jackson and his respect for Andrea tell a different story. Don't get me wrong, he definitely has moments where it fits. I really enjoyed his journey with Andrea.
I loved the first book but I totally love Axel and Andrea! Their story was ........ lovely 🥰🥰🥰, I can’t wait to read more about the brothers and really hope their books interact with each other 😁
First off - this cover is amazing! Wow! Alex and Andrea’s was the perfect follow-up to Monster! LOVED!! So sweet, but full of a ton of chemistry! Five Stars!
But the devil is rather a brute and an azzhole. She on the other hand is an aggressive and somewhat bossy woman. I guess I really didn’t care much about either of them
