Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined my new reality.
Sure, my skills were more than enough to ensure my acceptance into the Elite Warriors–my badassery was never in question.
However, I didn't expect to be told that I was a weapon, forged by the goddesses themselves, to protect the balance between darkness and light. Oh, and I certainly didn't predict the gift of six sworn guardians—six incredibly powerful, god-level-attractive, possessive guardians.
The kicker?
In order to become the weapon foretold, I will need to bond with each one.
Sounds fun right?
Well let me assure you, after only meeting four of them, they are proving to be more than I can handle, and I’ve not even met the final two.
The fifth has been imprisoned for the past two decades, tortured by the rebel force, and the sixth, is the man he needs saving from.
Will my soul ever be complete, or will I always remain The Broken Vessel?
***Author Note***
The Broken Vessel is the second book in The Chronicles of Luna Moon series. This medium-burn reverse harem romance is intended for readers 18 years and over. It contains strong language, violence, sex, and torture… Basically, if you are related to me, please do not read this book. If such material offends you, I also request that you please join my family and not read this book.
3.5 stars. I enjoyed this book, however, I liked the first one better. The last chapter has me anxious to see what awaits us in the next book. I really like Luna's character and cant wait to see how she progresses.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, I say that because I had to read it again before I read this and the feeling remained the same.
This book I didn't like. Nothing happens in this book. It was a rehashing of the previous book but with Luke appearing more than before. The two books plot have taken place in less than a month and you can certainly tell. There is no character development, the same thing they worried about in the last book is what they worried about in this book most of it concerning when they were going to mate with Luna.
The one time they had a mission that needed to be done urgently, they spent hours fighting over if one(Luke) of them should come or it was one of them trying to mate with Luna. It was infuriating. She was getting distressed that another of her mate might be killed and then a few pages later she is kissing another one completely forgetting that she had explicitly said that time was running out and if they didn't leave then then he might not survive. It was unbelievable.
The 'darkness' that is supposedly coming took a back seat in this book, there was maybe 4 mentions of it and mostly when they were discussing Balhar. I just think this book wasn't well written, it could have had more depth, the characters should have showed growth instead nothing has changed.
At this point I don't know if I am going to read the next book.
The first book of this series was pretty good. I enjoyed it and was interested to see where the story was going. That said, this book, the second of the series, was nearly unbearable.
This book picks up where the first one left off with Luna manifesting her wings, and it devolves from there. Her vision of her wolf guardian (his name eludes me at the moment) being killed spurs them all to plan and execute his rescue..
What I liked about this one: → We get more of Luke. That is it, that's all that I liked.
What I didn't like: → They know that what's his face is in danger (like "will be murdered within hours if someone doesn't save him" danger) and yet, they waste so much time on arguing and fighting and ruminating on their feelings and a bunch of other ridiculousness (I'm not even exaggerating here). It seems like every time they took a step towards rescuing the one guy, something would happen and they would get sidetracked. This happened a few times..
→ The endless bickering and fighting amongst the guardians - they were always arguing about something. We get it, they are all alphas and therefore extremely possessive and protective over their mate, but we don't need a constant reminder... too much angst.
→ Not enough interaction between characters. There was a lot of inner monologues and discussion of feelings, but not much action at all. The process of planning and rescuing the wolf alpha (whose name I can't remember) took up the first half of the book when really it could have been done in a chapter.
→ Sometimes when they did interact, there would be so much inner ramblings between speaking that I often lost track of the conversation that was going on. And it was usually the same old stuff being repeated over and over throughout the book.. similar to the thoughts that were in the first book. It was really repetitive.
→ The flashbacks. There were a lot of flashbacks... and they were seemingly useless.
→ There is probably more, but I stopped reading at around the 55% mark and started skimming and then I just outright gave up and decided to find something else to read.
The start of these series was good, but if this is the direction it is heading in, I don't think I will continue reading it. Maybe when the other books are out and I don't have to worry about waiting for the next book to be available? I noticed it was a long wait between the first book and the second, so we'll see. I probably wouldn't recommend this book to anyone and I am not sure if I will read anything else from this author. Sorry.
1.5 stars The squabbling angst & elf really ruined this book for me. The FMC was a bad ass during the first book in this book all the altercations happened around her. The plot wasn’t as seamless as I’d prefer & the monologues were long & redundant. The flashbacks added nothing to the story & quickly became unnecessary filler. Cliffhanger ending. I’m undecided if I’ll give book 3 a go. I guess it depends on how quickly it’s published.
Spoilers to follow The cliffhanger was not a surprise he was tortured for 20 years & no one questioned his loyalty? I really like the siren & the wolf (Luke) best. The dragon & vampire aren’t bad either.

I loved the first book but this one was just okay for me. I felt the characters were missing their personalities especially Luna. Most of the book was her lusting after the guys while feeling guilty about it. All her qualities that made her awesome in the first book were gone. With the men a lot of their backstories were revealed but nothing really going on currently. Too much squabbling with them acting like children. Hopefully with the ending (cliffhanger) the next book will show more character development and we can see more of the old Luna.
I really wanted to like this book, but I just found myself really disinterested and it didn't hold my attention at all. I think my biggest issue is that the inital setup of book 1 has Luna as this super kickass heroine, and then she develops these ultimate magic powers as the goddesses' vessel, but she never really does anything. She comes across as whiny, unconfident, and needy. it's not a good look, at it doesn't match the expectations the summary gives.
First let me say that this was very well thought out and written very well! The author is a talented writer! The characters are well thought out and developed. A lot of back story for most of the characters. The characters progressed and their feelings for Luna grew in this one. I loved Lucas in this one! But everyone else...,ehh not so much really.
I hated the jealous plot with Anna and Ehre. And low and behold he also had another love, one he still loved and kept from Luna and this Ahole was the only guardian she mated with and let take her virginity. And yet he never said a word he also loved another. Which I won’t say for spoilers but there’s lots of hints to it through out the book. Also, he was a HUGE jealous jerk over Lukas and the whole time he’d loved another... hypocrite much!?!?! I grew to dislike him.
The others were ok. The jealousy and growling between each other was so much that even I got sick of it.🤷♀️ no one wants to share between the 5 of them. She’s always scared she’s gonna hurt some body. Idk.. but at least they all grew their feelings for each other.
But at this point, I feel like Lukas is the only deserving mate/guardian she has. The others have lots of hang ups and problems she’s trying to fix and help with. She’s more their guardian than they were hers I thought.
One thing I didn’t like is that she’s a goddess... and yet nothing in this book so far has her doing anything goddess like or badass! There was no story line that showed her powers or her strength except near the beginning when her goddess sword over took her.
I gave 3 stars because of the length between the 1st (I gave 5 stars to that) and this 2nd one. Almost 2 yrs publish dates and a year and a half between me reading them. I had to go back and read the 1st one before this one so I could remember the characters and story lines. Also because I grew to dislike one of the male characters. There wasn’t much progression at all with the vampire king, I can’t even remember if he kissed her but I guess he did because there was a small sex scene that didn’t go anywhere somewhere in the middle. I don’t know, I just found myself frustrated with this book a lot. Even though I enjoyed some of the back stories, I found myself bored with it a little and skimmed through some of it just so the story would keep progressing more quickly.
IDK if I will read the next book, I guess it will depend on when it’s published.

This is the much awaited second book in the Luna Moon series. What a journey this is turning out to be!
Rose has a impressive and creative mind and her words create such a vivid picture - so much so that I literally got lost in this book. Love every single character. The world building is phenomenal. The plot is perfect and the pacing is excellent. I have zero complaints - other that I need more.
3 hours flew by and I just couldn't stop reading.
I am very eager for the next book. Absolutely recommend for fans who love this genre .
Wanted to love this...Book 1 was so good and I feel like I waited forever for this one. But 4 stars is being generous... Im giving 4 in hopes that book 3 redeems this series. There was a lot of squabbling. An annoying amount of squabbling at in opportune times. I almost put the book down. And flashbacks upon flashbacks! Some seemed more like fillers then helping to move the story along... I know I’m picking so I’m going to stop. Im hoping book 3 comes out soon I still have hope for Luna and her guardians!
We get a lot more background info on characters, but nothing much happened overall other than Luna getting a bunch more powers that weren't really used and that Balhar was finally rescued from the dungeon. Relationships with many side characters in the Elite academy weren't really developed well yet (e.g. Prince Oberon, Bella) and just barely touched upon in a few scenes, and there are still a lot of hidden secrets that haven't been revealed. Luna pretty much never showed off her bad-ass fighting skills at any point either, which was annoying since I mainly enjoyed this series due to her fierce personality in the first book.
As some other reviews mentioned, half the book (100ish pages!) was about a single day or two and their planning on how to rescue Balhar. And after Balhar was found, the next chapter suddenly jumped to a few days later and didn't really explain how they escaped from the dungeon, just the aftermath.
The book ends on another cliffhanger, grrr... Other than that annoyance, I'm still interested enough in the characters to want to see where the story is going, so I still plan on reading the next one. I hope the action picks up and the men stop continuing to argue about the same points over and over.
This review is tough to write. I absolutely loved and adored the first book and highly recommended it to those that love reverse harems because I felt it was done the right way. They loved, cherished, and held Luna in such high reverence right from the start. I thought the bonding would be effortless for this group.
This book starts off right where the last one ends. The men are unhappy about Vulcan bonding with Luna. This creates such discord in the group that it nearly broke my heart. It felt like none of the men were in agreement. They would fight, lust after Luna, immediately stop lusting, and start fighting again. This goes on repeat for the first half of the book, all while trying to find Balhar.
Finding Balhar was, to me, anticlimactic. Once they find him, the chapter ends and jumps to Luna, Luke and the other recruits having dinner together. A little bit of whiplash and confusion as to why we jumped here. I wanted to see more with Balhar and bringing him home after being held captive for 20 years.
The second half of the book we get more back story of the men. Which really just uncovered a lot of self hate, doubt, anger and jealousy. I didn't like it. Where did the men from the first book go? So much intense negative emotions. They need a lot of healing.
For the next book, I'd love to see this mended. I'd love to see them work together, the way they are intended to, and show Luna they are here for her. I want this so much because I believe this story is a unique and creative one. Once those bonds are in place and everything is good with the men, the author can run away with the story and make it epic.
I have been addicted to this series from the START. Winter Rose sucked me in with an amazing story line and just over all world building in the first book. In this second book you learn so much on each of the characters and get a little more information on Luna. It was the character growth that I loved. We learn so much on each of the guardians and what they each endured in their lives. We also started to understand them and really learn how much more there is to each guardian than what they show the world.
This book had all the highs and lows with an amplitude of feelings. I really loved how it concentrated on the guardians and not Luna. It was what was needed to really make us fall in love with these characters. Plus it really setup the scene for book 3 and I am so here for it. The ending made me slightly scream but also it was perfect. I am so excited for book 3!!
Wow im loving this series and I just want more. I adore Luna and her guardians, their connection to each other is so real and powerful its a force to be reckoned with. Although they all have their demons that they must overcome and with the revelation of hybrid twins who bring something new to the situation (although I think I know who they are). The war is beginning and Luna must win at all costs.
Luna has finally accepted what she is and she started to form bonds with her guardians. However, when she has a vision about her captured guardian, she'll do anything to save him. She also needs to figure out her feelings for Luke—he's not one of her guardians but she cannot give him up. The book ends with a cliffhanger that makes you wonder if Balhar should still be considered one of her guardians, and I can't wait to dive into book 3. I was so immersed in the book that I didn't even notice by the time I reached the last page it was already 2 am.
Ok…. This wasn’t it. First of all no warning about the m/m? Then Ehre’s and Balthar’s super surprising plot twist *cue the eye roll*
And yes, the same Ehre’s that threw a bitch fit about Luke, and the same one that already had a crazy ex lover/fiancée, I thought it was the siren we had to worry about. And yes, even though it was supposed to be a distraction (yes, another eye roll) let’s all forget he kissed another woman in front of his mate?
But it’s ok, Luna almost had a threesome (they got interrupted), then almost fucked the siren boy (yes, in a hot tub because he’s a water boy *splash splash*) that didn’t work either, so then she fucks the elf. Third time’s the charm, right? *crickets* If you’re wondering, it was in the same day. I know.
This just put me off, I like the FMC to be the main point of the relationship and I don’t think that there was a single POV of Ehre he didn’t mention one of his two side snacks. Did you know how Balthar saved him? And the flashbacks, oh the flashbacks. So glad we now know how he and Anna fucked, and he and wolf king fucked. And I guess the threesome was of them too? Wonderful.
Luna accepted that she has multiple mates, sorry, guardians. And that she is the descendent of all the goddesses, but when it comes to Luke, the one that she knew all her life and apparently was in love with without noticing it’s suddenly so oh complicated. How can she bond him? It doesn’t make sense, he’s not part of the six guardians *mega eye roll* She could bond with the elf one after she tried to kill him, the dragon was acceptable, she had 2 visions of wolf king and then she spoke to him. He said two words. Then dragon one is dying, but elf boy needs to save his lover because he is sitting and not talking, it was an emergency. Obviously. She bonded wolf king.
But her best friend??? Oh he went missing, everyone forgot about him. ( I’m actually impressed at how self absorbed they can all be, honestly, it’s amazing)
Turns out wolf king couldn’t be trusted. The shock.
Rant over.
Honestly i liked this series, it reminded me of my first love, you know? The beginning was great, and then you realize men ain’t shit.
Jokes aside (I’ll behave, i swear) it had potential, it truly did. Especially after that ending, but this one was just the same arguments all over again, Luna just wants to get fucked, and the world is corrupt and war is coming. Boring at most, readable at best.

Ok gonna do something a little unusual. Book 1 The Last Vessel has mysteriously disappeared from Good Reads so I will begin with Book 1's review...
BOOK 1 THE LAST VESSEL
Best read of 2019 for me!
Rose killed it!!!! This was beyond mesmerizing. Not one time did I find a lull in the story telling. Literally on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Luna is easily in the top 3 of toughest heroines I have read. Never had a moment of irritation with her. Usually with female leads they do something incredibly naïve and stupid....Luna was kick ass from page one. Such an amazing character.
This novel does not lack for MCs at this point there are 4 solid MCs. All of them I love! All dominate! All possessive! All extremely sexy! Vulcan has my heart at the moment but I have a feeling they will all own it before this series is over.
Storyline is off the charts! Rose clearly took her time laying this out to perfection. No random moments. No repetitions. No moment where I had an urge to scan. Gah this was incredible.
I. Can. Not. Wait. For book 2!!!!
You go Winter Rose 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
BOOK 2 THE BROKEN VESSEL
This continues to be a spectacular series! The only reason for the drop in rating for me is this book had too much information. Luna has 6 MCs which makes for some incredibly hot reading. The down side to this is there is a lot of backstories to be discussed. In book two we cover Ehre, Vulcan, and Balhar's past. It was just too much for me. The storyline did not flow as smoothly as book 1. I feel Vulcan's should have been delayed to book three IMO.
The boys were the definite focus in book 2. Their thoughts, past, and present were in the fore front. Leaving me at times to actually forget how powerful Luna is and I missed that because she is badass. This is something I hope comes back in book 3.
The hotness level is amped tremendously in The Broken Vessel! Gah, I blushed, possibly sweat a smidge (don't judge), and at times stink eyed the husband for daring to speak to me when I am in read mode.
Warning the ending is a MAJOR cliffy!
Loved this! Love Rose! Want more! I am hopeful that the wait for book 3 will not be as long as the wait was for book 2 🤞
I started to skimming at the very end. It wasn’t that interesting. The writing style was not my thing in the end. I was so confused in the middle. I totally thought Ballar was like an imposter or something because it just seemed too easy to rescue him. He was trapped for 20 years and it took maybe 30 minutes to rescue him with no guards and not really protected? Somethings off but no one knows so… anyways I didn’t really like Luke. I think he might be a replacement for Falknor (or whatever his name is he was supposed to be the sixth guardian) but I don’t know. I totally think Luke and Bella would be a cute couple. In the first book Luna was a crazy brilliant fighter and in this book she didn’t seem like that at all. If the author wanted do you have Luna‘s backstory be in her learning how to fight setting then she should use her abilities. All in all this book was pretty boring. Nothing happened and I didn’t like the development of the relationships. The plot was nonexistent because the battle was literally impending the entire book not interesting. I probably will not continue with a series.
Winter goes seamlessly from the end of the The Last Vessel straight into the start of Broken Vessel. The pace keeps up ....... straight into a mission for our heroine and her harem of gorgeous hunks.....( trying not to give away any spoilers here).
This is a beautifully written book. That allows you glimpses into psyche of each character..... hearing each voice ..... and starting to get some of the Guardians back stories. I love the interaction with each of the characters. The development of new characters ( but not so much that you get overwhelmed more curious). I consumed this book because I loved the first one so much. Literally set my alarm for Midnight so I could read the first few chapters. I’m now looking forward to re reading both books back to back
Winter this new baby is amazing be proud of yourself. Cannot believe this is only your second book. But girl we need to talk about that ending.........
I loved the 1st book. Was looking forward to the 2nd book, but boy am I glad I've got kindle unlimited, because this book was a wallbanger, because this book was a wallbanger! I have great empathy for the author in her afterward talking about how writing the book literally saved her life because she went through some health problems. How ever this 2nd book rambled and jumped ahead at crucial parts of the storytelling that made it hard to read. I skipped ahead to see if I got any better and just got worse. Won't be finishing the book because I don't care what happens anymore because it never addressed some important issues. I want to know what happened to the 5th guardian , when they rescued him (spoiler alert), but instead it just went back to the castle and encountering new characters I don't care about. Very Harry Potter. Who cares about school when there's heroes and healing and war to do. Poor explanations of Jinn and 6th Guardian. Done, just no.
I don't know if I should cry, beg the author for mercy or throw away my Kindle. This end!!! OMG this end... One of the biggest upsetting cliffhanger! Like the first one, I've been hooked by this book but there are one or two weak points in the story. First, there wasn't a lot of action. There was mainly long (sometimes VERY long) descriptions. They were well written but I've skipped some passages. Then, there were too many interior monologues. Of course it helped to understand the past of the characters but it could be skimmed a bit. There was also the constant incertainty about the bonds, the matings and it was unnerving. I was surprised and disappointed that Luna mated first with Ehre. It didn't make sense as they despised each other from the beginning... Yes, I don't like him so maybe I'm not objective (⌒_⌒;) Well, it's a good book, maybe a bit too static but I just craved to read the next one (very soon I hope!).
3,5 stars I have waited for this book for so long and finally i have got it. I liked the multi PoV which made me get to know the guys more and have a insight to see the world from their view. buuuuut that cliffhanger was not nice at all :((( whaaat the heellll Balhaaaarrrrrrr My heart ached soo much when fucking Anna came in the picture, ahhh i wanted to kill her myself so annoying. I ached with Luna, i felt her jealousy and heart ache. What i felt missing was some kind of fight or just some action. I wanted to see more of Lunas power strength and also the guys power. I mean they are supposed to be legends And last of all, where to heck is Luke Myers??? So many questions i have, i need the next book!
I am totally loving this series. This particular book seemed to be more geared toward us learning more about the characters of this series, which was great. I might have wished for a little more action, but I am sure we will be seeing that in the next adventure. To the author...... Keep on living your dreams and my best wishes for you and your health. This author has an incredible imagination and I am very happy that we, the readers, get to experience this fascinating world she has created. I would definitely recommend and I am looking forward to the next adventure!
So disappointed in this book, I had to force myself to keep reading :(
I really enjoyed The Last Vessel and had excitedly anticipated this next release. Unfortunately, rather than develop as a character and prove herself as a “badass”, Luna is still all talk and easily distracted during important tasks by her men (repeatedly). The first half of the book could have been summarised in 4 chapters but instead frustratingly limps on chapter by chapter with Luna demanding action, while annoyingly being the reason for inaction and wasting time with over-dramatics at critical times.
I loved the first book so much that I wanted to love the second, but nope, can’t do it. The fml is such a disappointment in the second book, which was more of a horny teenager angst book than the bad-ass heroine action/romance that I expected. The guys are insufferable, screaming mine and mine, when they all should be focusing on the actual plot (rescuing a certain someone perhaps?). This book was 95% 3rd rated romance (I don’t know this man but I want him but will this screw up their bromance dialogue), and 5% actual plot. Such a disappointment, this story should have ended with the first book.
I loved book one so much, and waited so long for book 2 to come out! Sadly it had an entirely different tone. There's just so much angst between the characters. So many things seem to get hashed out again, and again that are never really resolved. The fun of the first book is entirely missing. It's pretty darn gloomy! Also the amount of flashback scenes are just overwhelming. I don't think we needed it. I missed the fighting, and adventure of the first book. It ended on a confusing cliffhanger too!
Ok I don't know if the author reads these or not. I liked this book. I gobbled it up in 24 hours. I feel like there were not enough pages to get through all the things that needed to be said. Really this book is just a bridge between the first book and the next book. Some back story is revealed and characters are developed. I was never bored but the time frame of the entire book is maybe 72 hours? Two things to critique, 1. Opaque is not see through and 2. Bette not Barbs for the acknowledgements.
this book was so disappointing since the first one was so good. overall the whole plot line was such a mess, it didnt carry things over well and took way too long on certain plot points lingering on uninteresting things.
certain parts of the book were dragged on forever and the relationships had little to no progress. i feel like the only thing accomplished in this book was the retrieval of the alpha king or whatever but once he was retrieved it wasnt even talked about which sucked and really just fucked it over to be honest.
We all have been waiting for this sequel after reading the amazing first book. I found this book hard to read, too much inner dialogue, repeated scenes from different POV, and the book wad just slow paced. I kept waiting for something to happen, and when it did it was the end of the book with a cliffhanger ending. The parts I did like where great, just needed more action.
I loved the first book and the plot line, however this book was so frustrating how they spent so much of it arguing amongst themselves. It's wany angst, it was pure annoyance at how childish these 'Guardians' that have known for hundreds of years that they will share her but are jealous of every little thing.
Hopefully the next book smooths the relationships out between Luna and her men otherwise I can't see me continuing, which would be a shame!
