He doesn't have time for distractions. All that changes when Genesis McKenna moves to town. His attraction for her is instant. She's wildly beautiful and strong. Making Genesis his becomes Ransom's mission. Her husband died nearly two years ago. Now Genesis McKenna is looking to start over. Packing up her two children and the only life she's ever known, Genesis moves to the small town of Graystone, Texas. A new town. A new life. Genesis is focused on healing her family and their future. The last thing she expected was to have Ransom Rockwell waltz into her life. He's a single father and ridiculously handsome. The attraction between them is intense. Genesis is torn between her feelings toward Ransom and the love she still has for her late husband. It doesn't take long for Ransom to break through her defenses and help piece together her broken heart. The men of Gray Wolf Corp take on a high-profile case. The new bounty sends them on the hunt for a known cold-blooded killer with a vendetta against the team. Tracking down the criminal and bringing him to justice becomes personal when the killer sets his sights on Genesis.
Ransom is the first book in a new series and the authors didn’t disappoint. The characters were well written and extremely likeable and I loved the storyline although it was a little over the top.
The main characters had so much in common. I think this is why the worked so well together. Both Ransom and Genesis are single parents trying to raise their family. They work hard and run their own businesses. They also weren’t looking for love but fell into it when they met each other. There was a good amount of tension initially between them that quickly morphed into more. I thought the insta-love between them worked. There were small hiccups but I appreciate the simple love story as the cartel issues were a little much. It did add the suspense/drama that the story needed to keep the story moving and interesting.
And like every great book, I did need a few tissues at the end. It was the perfect ending for this sweet couple.
Happy doesn't even cover the way I was feeling when I got this book to read. I was ecstatic about it and couldn't start it fast enough. The magnificent duo of sisters have a new book, the start of a new series that I know will get my attention as well as my heart. Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez are the authors in question. Their writing is raw and wild, heartfelt and intense... Just see for yourself. Ransom is their latest release and it's the first book from the Gray Wolf Corp Texas series and explores the lives of Ransom and Genesis. Ransom is a former military man that joined forces with his two best friends and created Gray Wolf Corp. They all are bounty hunters who hunt down lawless and bright green them to justice. But his life also revolves around his kid. So you can see, he's a busy guy that doesn't have time for distractions until... Genesis needs to start over away from everything. She lost her husband two years ago and she needs a fresh start. Packing up everything, she and her kids move to a new town. She doesn't have time for distractions, nor does she wants them, until... What a book... What a story this was... It was perfect in every way. Stellar plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense. It was another heartbreaking journey through pain and want. These characters worked perfectly with each other and you could feel the love they shared. Loss is a terrible thing but what you do after that will define you and will make you stronger. Life's not easy but sometimes we can get the good in bad situations. I started this book super late in the night and guys, it was nonstop reading. I loved it so much that I couldn't put the book down. Of course that we have some hot stuff into the mix. Lol. Of course, we do This was an amazing start to a new series. It was different from what we are used to from these two queens but perfect in every way. Great book Crystal and Sandy. Can't wait for the next one I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Ransom Rockwell is a bounty hunter with his best friends as well as a single dad who is doing the best he can but has run into some trouble with a drug cartel that wants revenge. Keeping his family protected is his highest priority but when he meets Genesis McKenna he knows she is a game changer.
Genesis has moved to Graystone, Texas to start over. After her husband died leaving her with a daughter and son, she knows they all need to start anew. She had not thought of another man until She meets Ransom. Ransom is patient with Genesis knowing she needs time to come to terms with what is happening between them, but when the danger Ransom has been monitoring lashes out at Genesis he vows he will protect her with his life.
I liked this quite a bit. This was different then the other books by these talented authors. Genesis is a strong woman who is trying her best, her daughter is a moody teen and I thought that there relationship was a terrific addition to the story. Great read.
Genesis (Gigi) lost her husband two years ago to brain cancer. When she found his map with the town of Graystone circled with a note from her husband, she decided to take a chance and move herself and her children there to start anew. Making friends was easier than she thought and a girls night out brings her face to face with a man that stole her very soul just by looking at her.
Ransom, a Bounty Hunter that recently had a run in with some very dangerous people, experiences (for the first time in his life) what it feels like to have his heart free fall. His new obsession is the woman he sees across the bar. Friends take notice, as does the rest of the small town. While everyone else witnesses the moment their souls connected, they both stay clear. Even with time passed, Gigi isn't ready to let go. But when your soul recognizes it's complete, other half, how long can you fight the pull?
Ransom and Gigi come together beautifully. They have an instant connection but their love builds slower. They learn about each other and grow together. When situations out of their control bring them even closer together, they learn how much they need each other and that sometimes a small leap of faith, or a sign from above, puts you exactly where you need to be.
Fate brought these two together and they will stop at nothing to stay together. Ransom being a Bounty Hunter brings enemies but he won't let them stop him from loving & being with Gigi.
This was an absolutely amazing start to this new series with wonderful and touching moments, twists, turns and tears. It was also great having a brief moment with other characters we've seen before.
I love these two authors. All their books are freaking amazing. And this is book 1 of a new series. A Bounty Hunter Series from the norm of their MC Series.
Genesis (Gigi) lost her husband to brain cancer, and now she is a single mother to her two kids. So when she found a note from her husband with the town of Graystone circled she packed up her kids and moved to make a new start for them. She didn’t think it would be easy but she did it and she made friends. One night out on a girls night she meets Ransom Rockwell…
Ransom is a Bounty Hunter and his life isn’t easy tracking dangerous people. And then one night he meets Gigi. And even though everyone around them can see that they are meant to be, both of them stay away for their own reason. Gigi because she isn’t ready to let go of her old life yet and Ransom has his own reasons why… But when fate steps in who are you to back away from it 😊
I loved it. It had action, twists and turns and some emotional times but all in all the story was great and the characters were awesome. An awesome mother trying to make a new life for herself and her kids, and alpha sexy Bounty Hunter, so you know there will be lots of action and drama 😊And we get to see some familiar faces from previous MC stories. Whoop! I hope we don’t have to wait long for the next book in this series, I am excited to see what happens next.
Ransom is book one of the brand spanking new series; Gray Wolf Corp Texas. Crystal and Sandy decided to branch out from doing MC and delivered us this Bounty Hunter series that I must say is looking really promising!
The story focuses on Randsom Rockwell and Genesis McKenna. Their journey is a second chance at love romance. Ransom is stable, fearless, genuine, and a single father. Genesis is widowed with two kids looking for a fresh start. She's hard working, brave, and excudes strength even through her grief.
The plot was entertaining, unpredictable with great world building, and easy to read. There's action, realistic aspects, some heart breaking moments along with heart warming ones as well. If you've read the Kings of Retribution Louisianna Chapter Series then you may recognize a few characters that make an appearance. Overall I thought this was a great read and I'm looking forward to future books in this series.
This sister writing duo has done it again with Ransom. This beginning to a brand new series will have you feeling all the feels. Heartache and true love are just a few of those feelings we get to enjoy while reading this book. Ransom and Genesis story is one of heartache and one of true love. Ransom and his friends run and operate Gray Wolf. They go after the people other bounty hunters steer clear from. Genesis and her children make the move to Graystone Texas. They have suffered a great loss and Genesis is doing what she feels she needs to do for her family. When these two characters meet sparks fly and we get a taste of just how delicious and alpha Ransom truly is. Watching these two navigate the waters around what they both want was amazing. Their love is true, it is pure, and it is real. You will get to see how true love really can heal a broken heart!
I really want to give it more than 5 stars. Somehow the most beautiful blend of instalove, slow burn, dirty talking, violent, tender.. AND LET US NOT FORGET THE LETTER!! Lord, it is hot in Texas.
4.2 stars. This was such a heartwarming book. Ransom and Genesis had a sweet romance with just enough steam to tide me over. This book made me cry a few times. Genesis’ husband died 2 years before she moves her and the kids to Graystone. So she’s hesitant to start something with Ransom, not feeling like she’s ready to possibly give her heart to someone besides her high school sweetheart and father of her children. Ransom is patient with her. Letting her set the pace of their relationship with unwavering care and desire.
There’s a moment at the end that really set me off. It was so bitterly sweet I couldn’t stop the tears spilling from eyes.
I definitely enjoyed reading about them. Though, I would say, I think the kids were a bit unrealistically easy. And the danger involved got resolved a little bit too quickly to be believed. But it didn’t ruin anything. This was a relatively short book. Less than 200 pages. So things moved a bit faster than I was expecting.
All that said, I’m still glad I picked it up. I’ve read a couple books by this writing duo before, and I think I’ll definitely be looking into maybe rereading those and finding some more.
I found this one to be interesting, very serendipitous with how Genesis came to to town and why. The town seemed to be a good place for Genesis to start over with her family. Everyone in town seemed friendly and excited for her store to open. Then there was Ransom and wow...were sparks flying when they first laid eyes on each other, but even better was that was all that happened. I loved that as the reader we were in on the secret of who these two were to each other, but they didn't have a clue. It didn't take much time before they actually met in person and for Ransom to make his move. It was great that things were laid out between them right away, each knowing that their kids were first in their lives and that work was a close second, yet their new relationship was important to them as well.
The only drama that they encountered was outside forces, with ties to Ransom's job. But in a way that drama worked for them, it forced the to become closer and move a bit more quicker with their relationship.
I loved how this one ended, both letters had me in tears, sad for the person writing them, but happy with the sentiment they left. It made for the very all the better!
Genesis moved to Graystone to start a new life for her and Jax and Chloe. The three of them had been dealt a horrible tragedy and need a fresh start and the last thing she expects to find is Ransom. I loved this story and this start of this series is starting amazingly. I can't wait for more stories about this group of people. The characters are interesting and intriguing. There is something for everyone in this story; action, adventure, suspense, drama, romance, family, love and fun. I loved everything about this story. Highly recommended!!!
~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Genesis had her world ripped out from under her and now with her children, she is moving. A fresh start. Ransom is all about his daughter and his job. His new tenant might just complete him. This storyline is fabulous. I love a blended family. Excellent writing.
This book was a mix of loss, suspense, family and most of all love. I knew it would be emotional, but was not completely prepared for the end. My free flowing tears are a mix of sad and happy. I'm sad for the unfairness of life and happy for the abundance of love.
New author I found on tiktok. Sexy bounty hunter who meets Genesis. Genesis lost her husband 2 years ago from a brain tumor. Finds love again with Ransom.
Ransom is an emotional, heartwarming and mesmerizing read. Sure, there is plenty of action as the main character, Ransom Rockwell, is one of the best bounty hunters in Texas. But the main theme of this book is Family and its value. The story is powerful and beautiful. In Ransom's words: "They say before going into battle, you need to know what you are fighting for. It's my family back in Graystone and the men at my side. I hate the man I'm out to kill, but I love the ones I'm going to war for more, and that's why I'm here."
After their successful The Kings of Retribution MC series, talented sisters Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez have created a new world set in Graystone, TX. And I'm super excited about what is yet to come. Ransom is only the beginning of a series that promises to be unforgettable and explosive. It's filled with captivating characters. Yet, they manage to bring in smoothly some old familiar faces. Hint: they are not The Kings! Did I make you curious?
Ransom is a badass ex-military who, with his two best friends, founded Gray Wolf Corp, a fugitive recovery agency that specializes in high-profile and dangerous criminals. Despite his demanding job, he always makes time for his family and his daughter. He is not looking for love. Not until fate takes Genesis to Graystone. She moves there two years after her husband passed away from a terrible disease, leaving her and their two children with shattered hearts.
Ransom and Genesis' second chance story made me tear up and sob uncontrollably through the book. And it wasn't because of tragic events. It was because of the power behind the message masterfully crafted by Sandy and Crystal. They have such a natural and realistic way to convey their stories, that it's impossible to ignore how powerful their writing is.
The sky is the limit for these two authors. I can only say they outdid themselves once again.
Ransom is a bounty hunter who owns a business in his small town of Graystone with his two friends. They take on jobs other bounty hunters won't touch. Ransom is just wow...he is sweet, sexy, and a great single father. When he sees Genesis he knows that she is going to be his.
Genesis is a single mother of two who lost her husband to cancer two years ago. She is lost and needing a change so when she finds brochure in her husbands pocket she feels like it is a sign and she packs up her family and moves to Graystone. When she goes out with her new friend to have a drink she sees Ransom and his friends walk into the bar. Her eyes lock on his and it's the first time in two years she has even been the least bit attracted to a man but there is a strong connection there.
When these two get together wow...sparks fly. There is alot of danger and drama from Ransom's job and it also puts Genesis and her kids in danger. But Ransom does everything he can to keep them safe. I absolutely love Ransom, he is so good with Genesis and he understands that she will always love her husband and he is okay with that. I love his family and hers they are all so supportive and wonderful.
I can not wait to read more from this series....well done ladies.
New World . New Characters . New Stories . New Everything . Loss . Love . Fate .
Ransom, set in Graystone, TX is Book 1 in a whole new series by Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez and BOOM what an unforgettable beginning it was. This beautifully written story which has a strong undertone of friendships and family, was emotional, suspenseful, heartwarming, heart aching, and of course action filled. Ransom and Genesis' second chance romance story captivated my attention and stole my heart from the very first word up until I reached the beautiful some one hand me a tissue for my happy tears ending. Neither Ransom or Genesis were looking for love but sometimes fate has other plans. And while I devoured every word of their fated love story my heart equally ached and warmed, and I found myself reaching for the tissues, holding my breath in anticipation, smiling with happiness, and swooning hard over the sweet, sexy, and totally badass bounty hunter Ransom Rockwell.
With the introduction of some intriguing and wonderful new characters I can't wait to see what is yet to come of this series!! A Must Read!!
Loving this new series from Sandy and Crystal! After loving their MC series, I was excited to get a little bit of a different read from them and they delivered with the first installment of this series! Ransom is a bounty hunter with his brothers and in his last hunt ended up making himself a target to the bad guy. Genesis is moving to town to get away from her past with her family after losing her husband and her daughter acting out as a result of it. Finding out he circled the town on a map of wanting to visit, she took it as a sign and packed up her kids and relocated herself, her family, and her business. When she meets Ransom from across the bar, sparks instantly fly between them and she reacts in a manner she never has before, and she’s distraught on how to handle that. But when Ransom starts to pursue her, things just feel right, and she goes with it. But when Ransom’s business comes into town and makes Genesis their target, it risks the relationship between them as well as her life. I loved this book and the start to this series – I cannot wait for the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is another superbly written book by Sandy Alvarez and Crystal Daniels. That being said I feel compelled to disclose that this trope( lost love, second chance) is not one I usually enjoy reading and shy away from....BUT this book changed ALL of that for me. You have Ransom former military, single father, family man, bounty hunter and just plain awesome guy. Tough but tender when needed. He is the perfect man for a woman who needs a second chance at true love. In steps Genesis McKenna, great single mom but really struggling with her beloved husbands death 2 years earlier. She and Ransom had an immediate connection. She tried to fight it but realized quickly that it was good and healthy to move on. She didn't keep dragging the guilt around through the whole book. Their relationship was fraught with life changing trauma that they used to grow stronger as a couple. It was a beautifully written story that was sensitive to Genesis past relationship and the end will bring tears. It was wonderful. Thank you ladies for another book to go in my reread, keeper pile.
Ransom and his two friends are bounty hunters who are known for going after the worst of the worst. Genesis just moved to the area with her two children thanks to some unexpected guidance.
You really get to know the characters in this book whether they are family or friends that are family you feel the love, the connections, the support and of course the teasing, even the pop ins were a nice surprise. I could not have been happier reading about a single father who has a good relationship with the mom. Oh, and what little boys find important was just too sweet.
This story was so touching to me, I felt the foundation being built slowly with a lot of patience making the relationship stand out for being mature and confident. This story had me holding my breath at times, smiling and crying both happy and sad tears. I wanted to hit the bad guys and hug everyone else.
I am looking forward to the other books in this series.
Stellar New Series!! This sister writing team just went to the top of my list. Sparks fly from the very first minute Ransom and Genesis lock eyes. The handsome stranger flexes his jaw and bores a look straight into my soul like he dares me to be the first to look away. Ransom is a bounty hunter and single father. Alpha to the core. Genesis is a widow and mother of two. She’s not looking for a relationship but just can’t resist.
"Make sure you open doors for my mom and use your manners. She likes that. And she likes fart jokes, but not in public." He turns to leave but stops again. "Also, I have the best mom in the world. Don't make her cry."
This is a emotional romantic suspense. Lots of great characters I can’t wait to read more about. I’ve been on the fence about this duo for a while and it took me this long to dive in. Now I’m hooked.
Don’t be like me jump in with both feet you won’t regret it.
* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCED READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *
I am never disappointed with these two lovely ladies and the world's they create and make me want to move too.
And I'm Canadian... I'm pretty sure I would die in Texas... Roast from the inside out...
Sorry back to Ransom... And the very beautiful Andrew Flanagan gracing the cover is the perfect fit for him. I loved how I can actually picture him doing this.
I love Gigi and her strong but broken demeanor and how she is strong and trying to better herself and her kids lives. The reality of the sullen tween and how sometimes you can't pick who you live you just gotta go with it.
I love the up and down and surprises that brought it all full circle. I will gladly give this a 5 star review and recommend all books by them. Have not been disappointed yet and read them all!!
I have found new authors to read! Actually Authors as this is a duo!
The new Gray Wolf series and Ransom is book one. I could not put this down—lots of feels, action, suspense, and fate.
Ransom is a single father, dedicated bounty hunter, and fearless. Genesis or Gigi is widowed, a mother of two, and looking to start over after the loss of her husband. They lock eyes across the room, and sparks fly. As in all small towns, everyone knows everyone. A little fate later and Ransom and Gigi’s paths keep crossing.
Due to his job, she is now in the crosshairs of the wrong people, and he must protect her. As more danger will come to this town, I look forward to more stories from Graystone, TX.
Thank you to Give Me Books for recommending this book. I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review.
A really beautiful book about family and overcoming tragedy. This book was so incredibly emotional. I cried most of the way through it. I don't really cry during books even super emotional ones but this one definitely made me cry. Genesis is rebuilding her life after a tragedy and Ransom Is a very well known member of society as well as a very successful bounty hunter. Will sparks fly when these two meet? Absolutely! Crystal and Sandy have had a very successful series in the MC genre was very excited to start this new series. It's absolutely amazing and blew me away! I'm really excited for this new series I received an arc for my opinion.
Such a spectacular story. I'm never disappointed with the awesome-ness that comes from this author duo.
Ransom is swoon worthy and an alpha male without being over the top. He takes charge, gets shit handled, and is caring, loyal, loving and sweet.
Needing a fresh start, Genesis moves to Graystone. The connection with Ransom is instant and doesn't feel too rushed or "cheesey".
The story flows well between the characters and the surrounding drama. It ties together and even gives a slight nod, which I LOVED, to previous characters from the Kings of Retribution series.
I can not wait to go back to Graystone and see what else Crystal and Sandy come up. Amazing start!
Ransom is the hot new Alpha! Absolutely loved this story! It made me weep for Genesis but loved the strength she drew from Ransom. I loved the family mentality and the code of friendship. It was awesome seeing old faces make an appearance. Ransom isn’t the just the boy next door, he’s the man with all the skills any woman would fall in love with. Dedicated, sexy, hard-working, honest and alpha all the way. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for Gray Wolf Corp! Crystal and Sandy never disappoint and this book has it all! I wish I could do more than 5 stars, it doesn’t do it justice. This book was EPIC! I want to reread it just so I can experience all the emotions all over again.
These two authors never disappoint and Ransom is no exception. This was an emotional heartwarming read and I loved every second of it.
After the loss of her husband, Genesis decides her family needs a fresh start and relocates to Greystone, Texas. She’s there to pick up the pieces of her broken family and mend her heart. She wasn’t looking for love, but it might have found her anyway.
Ransom is ex-military, who with his two best friends, become bounty hunters and founded Grey Wolf Corp. He wasn’t looking for love, until Genesis lands in his field of vision. Seems like fate put her in his path for a reason.
This story had me reaching for the tissues, it had me tearing up so much.
Ransom is book one in the Gray Wolf Corp Texas series. This book is an emotional, heart warming and action packed . Genesis is a widowed single mother of three who relocates after the death of her husband. She definitely didn't plan on love being in her agenda but when Ransom comes,into her life , all bets are off. When danger enters the town of Gray Wolf, he'll stop at nothing to protect her. I love that this book is set in a small town with amazing characters. I can't wait to read more from this series.
This book is everything!!! I'm not usually a fan of the "lost husband" trope but since Crystal & Sandy's wrote it I was going to give it a try no matter what & I'm so glad I did!
I was instantly pulled into the story & felt a sort of connection to Genesis with the whole "single mother" aspect. Ransom was absolutely swoon worthy & he's a great dad?! That just add so many bonus points. :)
I'm so ready for more from this series!
Need something new to become addicted to?! Well one click this baby!!
