Years ago her best friend betrayed her. Now she needs a favor from the wedding planner…but what is the personal price of forgiveness?
A fractured friendship creates new problems for Rachel, the Tybee Island wedding planner. When the daughter of her college roommate asks for help planning her wedding, Rachel is thrown into turmoil. In college Tammy had stolen the heart of Rachel’s forever man. Joshua Pennington and Rachel had plans for a future with a large family. The two women haven’t spoken in years, and Rachel has remained single and childless. Why does Nicole, a heartbreaking replica of her mother, come to her now?
Upset and confused, Rachel turns to her new friends, Julep and Sylvia, for support. In their book group, the three discuss life, love and family bonds more than literature. With so much going on, Julep calls a time out with Griff Sanders, the attractive veterinarian who’d brightened her holidays.
While Rachel considers saying no to Tammy and her daughter, Nicole quickly wins her heart. Something isn’t quite right. Tammy hides a secret that could change Rachel’s life. Meanwhile, plans for Rhett Tucker’s marriage to Esper stall. Feeling guilty about her motherly meddling, Julep finds comfort in creating seashell wreaths for her guests.
Julep’s daughters Whitney and Lulah help their mother establish her bed and breakfast, Julep’s Inn. But she can’t help worrying about Whitney’s attempt to reconcile with her ex, or Cassie’s new classes, which irritate her husband no end.
This heartfelt Tybee Friends Forever series explores the bonds of friendship, the foundations of love and healing a woman’s past. This is book 4 in a series of 5 books.
Not only is Rachel’s life spinning out of control while planning Nicole’s wedding, but her past memories seem to be murkier as she goes thru each day and are changing into something completely different than what she has held onto all these years. Julep is dealing with her scary feelings – about moving on after her husband’s passing. And she worries about her children, the choices they are making and the navigation of their futures. All is not what is seems, imho! Everyone needs a little soul searching.
Episode 4 of this story brings with it heartache, decisions to be made, and indecision over new relationships. Through it all, the book club remains the sounding board for Rachel and her two friends. Rachel finds a new lease on life, but her old friend, Tammy, is finding it hard to keep a hold of the important details for her daughter's wedding. I have had some questions throughout this series, especially regarding Joshua, Julep and Griff, and Whitney's choices for the future, but hopefully some of these will be answered in the final episode. This novella is well written and emotive, making me feel part of the group of friends, their heartache and small victories, and had me laughing out loud at projects gone wrong. Somewhere inside all of us, there is still a young girl who manages to reappear at inconvenient moments. I received a copy of this charming book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Poor Rachel, everything she thought about her long lost love appears to be so different with Tammy's revelations as they continue to plan Nicole's wedding. Julep is still working in her B&B and grappling with whether she is ready to date again. And her daughter Whitney is uncertain about her ex when she explores a connection to her son's teacher. Lots of questions still to be answered. Stay tuned for part 5 of this homey tale of family and friends on Tybee Island.
In Book 4 of The Wedding Planner, Esper and Nicole chose wedding dresses, Whitney has a date with her son's teacher, Tammy reveals a secret, Rachel tries to reconcile her memories of Joshua with the stories from Tammy and Nicole, and Julep and her girls run the inn. I am looking forward to book 5 for actual weddings and to see how these friendships wrap up.
The Wedding Planner book 4 continues Rachel’s story as spring arrives and planning for the two June weddings progresses. Readers will learn more about Rachel’s nemesis, Tammy, and cheer when Rachel decides to get a new look. This is a sweet story about doing ones best in spite of insecurity and indecision...aka as life it’s own self. Most highly recommend.
Everything is coming together...brides, grooms, dresses, cakes, and flowers. Weddings are exhausting and I'm only reading about it! Right now I could use some of that sand between my toes!
