"Indulge Me" by Lori Foster Shy Becky Harte has decided to explore her wicked side. Being spotted in a sex shop by her secret object of desire, George Westin, was not part of the plan. George is intrigued at her purchases, and he'd love to teach the blushing Becky a thing or two about surrender. But when fantasy becomes reality, it's the not-so-innocent Becky calling the shots. . .
"Naughty by Night" by Janelle Denison Since they were teenagers, sparks have flown between Chloe Anderson and Gabe Mackenzie. To my surprise I really liked this book. When I ordered it, I thought it was going to be a discussion on why women lean toward "Bad Boys". When I discovered it was just a collection of racy stories I put it away on the shelf to read when I had nothing else to read. I never really cared too much for short stories. To my surprise it was pretty decently written. The first story kind of reminded me why I did not like short racy stories, but about half way through it, I had changed my mind. I really enjoyed the last two stories and will probably look for more from those two writers. All three were very graphic, but had the sweet ending that I am always a sucker for.
I haven't really read spicy books before but this had a great plot as well as sex but I would have loved to know a little more about what happened after these books. My favourite book is the third. Naughty by night I find not only the thought of an island all your fantasies can come true but also the premise of finding yourself and learning to be comfortable in your own body very interesting.
Not bad Becky is a naive, sweet character. George is the object of her affections and dreams. They work together and meet in a Erotic store. Well Becky would be the last onein her town to be found in a erotic store. But George has loved her from afar, even though they work in the same factory. Sparks erupt between them and in one night everything comes true.
Naughty By Night-Janelle Denison
This was my favorite inthe book. Gabe left Chloe 6 years before in a frustrating problem. 6 years later he comes back to San Diego because of his Mother's recent marriage to clean out his boyhood home before his mother sells it. Gabe discovered years ago that Chloe was the only one for him but now has to prove that. A poker bet seals the way for Gabe to become again Chloe's love.
..And When They Were Bad-Donna Kauffman
This is the only one I did not care for. Cameron has gone through hell in the past year, Father on trial for tax fraud, Mother in rehab and his ex wife found in bed with her tennis and pro and her best friend. What is a guy to do? He goes on a vacation to Intimancies and erotic resort in the Carribean. Allie is a computer nerd and owner of a successful computer business. She is totally out of her element at the vacation spot until she meets Cameron. What ensues is a passinate night of seduction and then the morning after. Ok if you like a erotic vacation.
Overall not bad stories just the last one was a little to hokie for me. but then again
Of the three stories, I enjoyed the first (Indulge Me) and third (And When They Were Bad) the most and give them 4 stars. In the second story (Naughty By Night), the girl’s actions annoyed me. She was mean in the way she treated him for three nights. I give that story 3 stars.
Indulge Me is part of an excellent series that would have been nicer if published together in one book. The series is about three girls who are friends and work together in a factory. The group decides that each one of them must visit a nearby porn shop and make a date with a guy they meet there. The girls didn't know it in advance, but the three guys who met the girls at the porn shop knew about it before hand and had planned to be there to make the first date. The 1st story is called Satisfy Me (part of the book: All Through The Night”) about a girl named Asia. The 2nd story is Indulge Me (here) about Becky. The 3rd story is Drive Me Wild (part of the book: I Brake For Bad Boys) about Erica. Sexual content: strong.
Three short stories in an anthology of 'erotic romance'. Maybe my love of the short story was waned to the point that I now have a loathe of the short story. Little to no character development, stupid storylines, and completely unrealistic/unbelievable HEA endings. It is the last point that really ruined these three stories for me though. First I was disappointed in the Lori Foster story. I've generally liked what she's written. Not this time though. I thought her story was the weakest of the three. The second story was marginally better. The third was decent.
Indulge Me - Lori Foster - 2 /5 - Becky Harte is an innocent, naive virgin who knows next to nothing about sex...and it’s her turn to go into the porn shop and find a man who shares her particular fantasy. She runs into George Westin, a supervisor at work and the guy she’s been crushing on. Turns out the both fantasize about bondage. George thinks Becky has just been playing innocent all this time, and can’t wait to finally get her tied to his bed. Becky likewise wants to tie George up to her bed so she can be in control and keep him from seeing her. This miscommunication causes some issues of course, and as George helps Becky through her issues, he realizes he loves her. This was just okay. I didn’t care for either of the characters very much...George just felt a bit on the sleazy/smarmy side, even if he was charming. I DID NOT care for the fact that he tied her up against her will and didn’t release her even when it was clear she was afraid and panicking - damn woman is sobbing and he’s all “it’s okay, I won’t hurt you, you’ll like it.” Creeptastic that one. You don’t keep her tied up and try to calm her down so you get your way - that’s not sensitive at all. Then he turns on the lights when she clearly begs him not to. For me, this makes him untrustworthy all around. And it would have been so much better and more romantic if he’d earned her trust and gotten her to show him, rather than taking that choice away from her. But length restraints being what they are, I guess we have no choice but to make him a bit of an ass. Also, the jump to marriage happened WAY too fast.
Naughty by Night - Janelle Denison - 3/5 - Gabe and Chloe had a shot at something when they were younger - they started a pretty passionate encounter and both were in love with each other, but Gabe took off and didn’t contact Chloe again. Now he’s back and he wants her forever. So he does what he can to seduce his way back into her good graces and earn her trust, but losing to her in poker puts him at her mercy for four incredible nights. Four nights where he has to provide her fantasies and four nights for him to convince her he’s serious. But Chloe has plans to walk away, just like he did. Overall, this was a pretty good second chance, with some minor issues. I liked that despite his arrogant and smug attitude, Gabe knew what he’d done and was ready to do ANYTHING to earn Chloe’s trust back...even debase himself or suffer unfulfilled lust and he didn’t complain about it at all. I also like that initially, it looked like Chloe was going to have her revenge, but she realized it was going to backfire as she fell in love with him again. Chloe was very sexually confident and was a great heroine. What I didn’t love about this though (and maybe this is true about a lot of second chance romances like this one) is that Gabe wasn’t forthcoming and upfront. This entire story’s angst is built on the fact that Gabe wants Chloe back and she thinks it’s temporary and doesn’t understand the depth of his feelings. He seduces her first and THEN admits his feelings. It’s hard to see angst as not contrived when a direct and honest conversation about his remorse and his love could have basically taken care of 85% of their problems. I struggled having that in the back of my mind...he laments about how she doesn’t trust him and I’m yelling at my kindle, “That’s because you haven’t told her how you feel!” Good story though, really.
...And When they Were Bad - Donna Kauffman - 3/5 - Cam and Allie are both business CEO’s pretty much fed up with their image in life. They want to be bad...very bad. So each of them goes to Intimacies, a resort that caters to pleasures and sex. Cam is looking for his lush, tropical dream girl so he can let loose a lifetime of repression. Allie wants to sex up her image and find her confidence. They find each other. And although Allie is everything Cam is looking for, Cam doesn’t feel the same about Allie...and yet there’s an attraction they can’t resist and this leads to an incredible night together. But is it more than a one night stand? Someone clearly read up on Hedonism II in Jamaica, because this resort, Intimacies, has a lot of similarities (I may have done some reading myself…) I didn’t like Cam’s attitude going in very much, but I like that, in the end, he’s the one searching for her because he wants more. This most definitely needed to be longer to really be good. As it was, Cam and Allie just had the connection, but didn’t really have enough time to fall in love. So I think I might have liked an epilogue or something to see them “in love.” This author seems to thrive on the “one-night” fantasy scenario where both characters one or both characters doubt if it can lead to more. It’s a formula that works pretty well for novellas, but I wanted more non-sexual interaction between the two characters to really see them connect outside the bedroom. Still a sexy story that was an enjoyable read.

Indulge Me by Lori Foster: Three friends enter into a pact to go into Wild Honey, the sex store across from where they work, find someone who shares an interest in their fantasy and approach them. After Asia's successful turn it is Becky's turn. Shy, inexperienced, and supremely mortified she steels her nerves, enters, and runs into the epitome of her sexual fantasies, George Westin. George is experienced, sexy, and has quite the reputation. Stunned he has similar fantasies to her own, they make a date...and are both in for a surprise.
Naughty by Night by Janelle Denison: Reeling from a carrier-ending injury and feeling unworthy Gabe MacKenzie leaves San Diego and the love of his life Chloe Anderson. Six years later he's back, he's game, and he's determined to win her back. With a bet made during a poker game Chloe has the perfect way to exact her revenge--by acting out her greatest fantasies with Gabe and then leaving HIM. But he is here to stay and willing to do anything to gain her trust and forgiveness.
...And When They Were Bad by Donna Kauffman: Two professionals make reservations at an exclusive adult resort, Intimacies. Allie Walker is a nerdy girl out of her element with men here to find her inner slut and Cameron James IV is here to escape his responsibilities as CEO and Mr. Nice Guy and find his inner bad boy. A series of coincidences keeps throwing Allie and Cam together. While not what the other came to Intimacies to experience, can they find what they need in each other?
I really enjoyed this trio of stories. Each was different but all revolved around a wager of some kind and finding yourself by taking a chance. The flair and creativity the authors used in creating their stories was a welcome change to many of the same-old, same-old stories you read in many anthologies.
I am appalled cause what the hell did I just read. The second hand embarrassment I’m getting is enough to send me into the fucking stratosphere and i swear I have whiplash from the atrocity that I read. If I could, I would wash this with chlorine because of how bad this is and then burn it but it’s a library book and unless I want to spend money replacing the godforsaken thing which would be a waste of money, this is a book Im putting back to the library and hiding it so no one else has the unfortunate chance to read this horrid book which has now scarred my eyes with its horrid words.
06/2014 SO I have finally gotten around to reading the last 2 stories in this anthology and they were surprisingly STEAMY! I've read a lot of Denison and Kauffman books and I don't recall quite so much blatant smuttiness lol and I LIKED IT!
In Denison's Naughty by Night, we read a second chance romance. Gabe has come back for Chloe after walking away from her without a backward glance and he is not walking away without her! The whole story was less than a week long but it was complete. I.LOVED.IT.
In Kauffman's And When They Were Bad, we have two people who vacation to a 'private' island looking to find themselves and end up finding each other. THIS story wasn't even 24 hours and it felt complete.
I have to give MAD PROPS to all 3 authors for putting together such an awesome trio of stories!
10/2013 Lori Foster came up with a series called Brava Girlfriends (Brava for the publishing company and girlfriends cuz the series is about 3 female friends) and published the second story, Indulge me, in this anthology. Basically, a new sex shop opens up in this 'very quiet' (lol) town and the 3 friends make a pact with each other to tell each other 1. what their favorite sexual fantasy is and 2. visit the sex shop and the first male that comes in while they are there who also shows interest in their fantasy (ie: bondage, spanking, etc), they have to go out on a date with them and act out their fantasy with them. ********HILARIOUS************* In my opinion, the best story comes in this anthology with Becky, titled Indulge Me. Second I would put,Satisfy Me, about Asia, published in All Through The Night. And last but not least we have Erica's story published in I BRAKE FOR BAD BOYS, titled Drive Me Wild. I cannot give enough props for humor and ingenuity. I loved the premise of the stories and also the execution. They really are quite hilarious and very easy to read. I read all three in just a few hours!
I find the girl’s dare to go to the new adult story to be funny. This time around even more so as Asia and Cameron are manipulating just who Becky will meet. At first glance I thought George was perfect for Becky, even being quite a bit older. It wasn’t until things started heating up that I realized I didn’t get all of Becky’s fantasy and worried that George would be up for it. I shouldn’t have been as things worked out just as they should have. I loved how later that George barged out buck naked to confront the other two girls and protect Becky.
With only one trip left to the adult story it will be interesting to see how things go down, especially as George knows Erica’s fantasy and is looking to do some meddling of his own.
'Indulge Me' by Lori Foster 7/10 I liked the characters and the plot but I thought the ending was rushed and out of place. I was uncomfortable with one scene as the heroine was placed in bondage, even though she didn't want it. Apart from that, I'm interested in looking into the other two stories of the trio of friends.
'Naughty by Night' by Janelle Denison 3/10 I liked the beginning but then the characters suddenly changed even though the story took place over the course of four nights. It didn't make much sense. I skipped the end for this reason.
'...And When They Were Bad' by Donna Kauffman 0/10 -- Did not finish. Reached the middle of chapter four and couldn't read any more.
OH, this was SUCH a blast from the past. This was my very first erotic romance novel/collection and I remembered a lot of it so clearly. You never forget your first Bad Boy!
Rereading this as an adult, I can't say that I like all the stories. In fact, I only liked Indulge Me this time around. It's just really fun and well-written and sexy. It's everything you could want from the genre and then some. I just wish it were a full length novel. Because, hooooo boy, I'm on fire.
As for the other stories, they aren't bad. They just don't impress me nowadays.
I'm forever in debt towards I Love Bad Boys though. It ignited my passion for the genre and was a joy to hide underneath my school books every time I read it as a teen.
Indulge Me - Lori Foster - 3.75 Stars - Fun, sweet and sexy story but it does leave me wondering about Erica and Asia's stories.....are they ever told???
Naughty by Night - Janelle Denison - 3.25 - I loved the hero but things seemed to drag a bit towards the end.
And Then They Were Bad - Donna Kauffman - 3.00 - Grade A fantasy fulfillment. Grade B story telling. The pace was good but it was predictable.
I loved all of these stories and would definitely read them again! The stories are all spicy and filled with chemistry between the main characters. It would not be an exageration to say that these stories are memorable and worth keeping to read over and over again. My favorites are the first and last stories, Lori Foster and Donna Kauffman respectively. Highly recommended for lovers of romance!
This book is hot from start to finish. Have a cold drink and a fan ready before you sit down and indulge in the book. All three stories are great. Although, I would have loved for all of the stories to be longer.
Also recommended: kathy love, lori foster, brenda jackson, lynne graham, connie mason, kinley macgergor
My first time reading a real romance kind of book. I wished the three short stories had overlapping characters or story lines. I was just strange to me why they would put three unrelated stories together as one book. I liked the first and third stories the best. The second story I would have given a 2. I didn't like the main characters actions and just found her to be annoying.
I can't remember much about either the Kauffman or Denison books in this one; pretty much I love all of Lori Foster, and that's why I rated this as I did. With very few exceptions, her work has been reliably great.
Finished the third story in this collection before bed Friday night as hoped. Would actually give this one 3.5 stars, as I liked last two stories better than the first.
I really didn't like this book. Lori Foster's story was cute. I read most of the second story, and just the first chapter of the third. None of them drew me in, so I put this book aside.
