This book is a decent read for someone who is not particularly familiar with the genre. Most of the really good oaters are given at least a quick nod and photographs abound. The only issues I have with this compilation is that it is dated and none of the really good westerns from the last 30 years or so are given their due. Additionally, the author has included spoilers for most films so if you haven't done so, see the movie before reading the book. I don't believe I've ever said that before!
